Wanted to leave a review of the St Albans excellent taproom from the brewery. Being a bit of a novice beer drinker i needed a bit of guidance on what and how much of each drink I should have ( one of the recommendations was a 9.7% stout that is apparently best drank in thirds if you can manage it!) by the wonderful team member Marcus behind the bar. A brilliant afternoon’s experience that I would really recommend if you’re looking for something local and a bit different.

Nice little pub away from everything. Good beers. A little pricy, 2 beers and 2 crisps was nearly £20 Bar lady was very welcoming and friendly. Nice little beer garden. No parking so have to find somewhere local and walk. Didn’t get the chance to order food nor did I even see a menu. Huge field outside the front with benches and a small playground for the kids.

This place used to be good, when Mai's Vietnamese kitchen operated there, but now it's reopened as Church Farm Cafe, it's gone down the pan! Pretentious decoration with unfriendly in fact downright rude staff serving overpriced food that appears to have come straight from Tesco. Never again!

Our first time at The Bull and it won’t be the last. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Great choice of beer and wine and tasty selection of sandwiches served with chunky chips on the side. Very relaxed ambiance. Everyone enjoyed their meal and left happy. Would definitely recommend.

Dissapointed to see that the floor was absolutely filthy which isn’t hygienic whilst eating or good for kids to roam about on.

I ordered a double-up breakfast which should come with 2 sausages 2 bacon 2 hash-browns 2 eggs 2 black pudding mushroom and beans. Unfortunately when open the tray I noticed that there was only 1 bacon 1 sausage and 1 hash brown. The black pudding was undercooked and I selected for my eggs to be soft but they where as hard as bricks, the beans where stone cold like had just been poured straight out the tin into the box and so where the mushrooms and they were also very rubbery.

Well, we visited the stall at Beaconsfield bank holiday fayre market and chose 2 delicious cinnamon doughnut 'things' plus a gorgeous seeded sourdough loaf which has stunned us, it's so tasty. It's 23 miles from our home to the bakery but we plan to plague them for their bread and goodies; just hope they keep in the freezer!

I went there for breakfast one day , the decor is really nice. The small breakfast was delicious! Under New management...ended up getting a job here! Lovely owner. Lovely chef.

I have visited The Old Bell several times this month and on each occasion the Guinness has been excellent and all the staff that I have interacted with have been polite, professional and friendly. The pub itself is a very interesting old building in a great location on the High St. I would recommend a visit if in the area.

My girlfiend and I have started to come here for the all day breakfast whenever we're in town and need feeding up and every single time we are satisfied and well looked after! The staff are really friendly, even though we only go in like once a month, the usual waitress who remebers us and what we order. The menu is expansive and great value, the decour is lovely and warm. Take a look at the menu, but if homely food and nice vibes is what you are looking for, can't go wrong with the Marlowes Cafe!

I took my other half here for her birthday on her recommendation. Was very pleased with the service and food and hope to return! I booked an afternoon tea here and everything is homemade. The amazing sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones, coffee and even the orange juice. It’s freshly squeezed behind the bar in a juicer! Good sized portions served here, had to take a few bits home. Absolutely mindblowing coffee. One of the best cups I’ve had and I don’t say that lightly. Had to have a few! Service was impeccable. We were seated quickly, the food was all ready and prepared that morning and check backs were frequent for drink refills, packing to take food home etc. All in all, a great place to have a coffee, cake and maybe even afternoon tea like us.
