Best pub in Hemel Hempstead, the food and drink are great, the staff are amazing, brilliant friendly atmosphere. Will definitely come again in the near future...

Lovely staff. Very busy when we visited, sat in the garden on a very sunny day which was lovely. The place was packed and so order to table took quite a while but the staff were working as quickly as they could. I'd say it was probably quicker to go to the bar and order drinks. Would recommend.

Friendly staff in this charming pub in Hemel's Old Town. The Greene King's menu is the same as any other in the chain with priority on value vs quality but it all served well and perfectly decent.

Says online opens at 11.30. Went to the door at 11.35 was locked so went to the side door also closed. Noticed a a member of staff sitting down so asked if it was open just shook his head with a smirk on his face. So asked nicely through the window what time would be open he said five minutes. Went back 10 minutes later saw me standing outside but still wouldn’t open. I walked 100 yards down the road to a pub not open until 12 but they let me in as they saw me. As a nice member of staff would. Rude arrogant young lad at this pub needs a lesson in manners.

First time of eating here. I had several requests and Staff were so cheerful and helpful. We felt looked after by all staff. Meal was very much enjoyed by all my family. Staff worked hard. We shall book again soon. Thank you for a lovely Mother’s Day.

New to town so thought I’d see what the pubs were like and it didn’t disappoint was warmly welcomed by the staff Callum and Lara they were very helpful when it came to ordering food and choice of beer would highly recommend and this will definitely become the new local for me

Lovely pub in the centre of the Old Town. The bar staff are second to none, always greeting you with a smile and a laugh. Look out for their events too, the murder mystery evenings in particular are not to be missed.

Visited the Old Bell recently and must say what a tremendous experience we had in this old traditional pub. The food was impeccable and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We were served by Calum who was friendly and professional and couldn't do enough to accommodate our request. Would highly recommend this venue and will definitely be going back.

The food and the service here are absolutely fantastic. I definitely will be visiting again, but it was a bit of a struggle with a wheelchair I would add, though the wheelchair was a larger than normal size wheelchair

Stumbled upon this place on my birthday celebrations through the old town. What a great find! The staff were amazing and incredibly friendly and every drink we ordered the interaction with staff was brilliant. Thanks to Lara, Amy, Jemma and bouncers for a fab night. 100% visiting again!

On passing through Hemel Hempstead. I came across this pub. The welcoming was warm and the bar staff were friendly and knowledgeable as I do enjoy Gin. And with sports on every T.V. Had an fantastic experience.

Went for a couple of quick drinks today after shopping. Very warm inside and very friendly bar staff. Especially Lorenzo the barman who was so welcoming cheerful and friendly and served us quickly and with a smile. Huge pot of tea for one and no stinting on the tea bags. A very nice old pub. Only some feedback they could do with some new chairs in the front bar where Churchills picture is. A gem.

I was here during the week with friends for some drinks ended up staying for the evening and having some food as atmosphere was great. A Gem of a pub where there are not many around.

Yeah one of the best pubs in hemel hempstead. Nice vibe and loads of screens to watch the football. Lots of nooks and crannies to sit and have a quiet drink and chat.

WOW! What an unreal experience came down to watch England play in the World Cup and despite it being manic, the pub was still clean and tidy and most of all the staff were still lovely and talkative despite the business! Can’t wait to go back! Well done

Really great pub for atmosphere beer good friends and football.

I just love this pub, the staff are polite, and they look after there regulars, you can have a laugh and a chat(as long as its not to busy of course), I use the pub everyday, the prices are very reasonable for the old town. Russ and Anita are always polite and and approachable. As I said an excellenty run establishment

Lovely quaint place in a lovely street.

Be aware this pub is not dog friendly, we have used this pub many many times over the years, often as a group meeting place before heading to local restraunts. However on this ocassion we had our cocker spaniel with us and only after buying drinks were ask to leave. Pitty the doorman did not mention it when we walked in!
