We came in for the street food and found the event very well run, there were plenty of stalls, a good variety of offerings and seats to be had. Staff in the pub were very friendly and plenty of them clearing glasses - in fact a bit too keen, keep your glass in view. The ordering at the bar is meant to streamline the system but makes it into a bottleneck- but no real issue there was a Tring beer tent outside! Great event and pub give it a go!

First time visiting this lovely quaint pub/restaurant and what a great time we had. Amazing Sunday roast, great atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff. Thank you for making my mothers day so special. Will definitely recommend.

I always visit here when visiting my daughter in Hemel. Fantastic food, reasonably priced. I highly recommend the ferrero roche cheesecake, absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming and the Bull always has a lovely atmosphere.

What an excellent place! Booked a table for lunch and the food was excellent, only outdone by the superb service. The staff were upbeat, super friendly and clearly enjoy what they do, drinks were great and the meal was excellent quality. We had a lovely afternoon there which stretched into the evening, and I couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thanks for a great time!

Lovely place, staff, and the food was spot on. Great service, nice welcome good choice of beers and lagers. 7 of us ate. All had good meals. The wine was well matched too. No problems, friendly and sky sports for those who wanted to watch the football. What more could a man want.

I cannot recommend The Bull highly enough. The staff were lovely and service impeccable. There were 8 of us and we were all incredibly impressed. The food was simply delicious. They clearly have a very talented chef and team because everything was perfect. Top marks to them. We will definitely be returning.

The food we had was some of the nicest we've had! Rock salmon and triple cooked chips,chickpea burger,Burrata and Garlic and maple cauliflower were all so delicious 😋 A very friendly team all round and dog friendly. We'll be back !

Not really a mixture in my book. If you want to make sure all the specials are available to you, book the 12.00 sitting. My short crust pastry was disappointingky soggy, but otherwise OK. All the other meals were good and generously proportioned. Come dessert time the staff were busy getting drinks for the football regulars, so we had a long wait to order, which was a pity because we could have vacated our table for the fans before the kick off otherwise. We enjoyed the horseradish sauce and the Tring beer but not the knives which could almost be used either way around.

Came here twice in November. Food is absolutely amazing, best Sunday dinner I’ve ever eaten. Fabulous service, fabulous staff, fabulous everything. Can’t wait to go back.

We held my dad's wake at the Bull this afternoon and Russ and the team couldn't have been more welcoming. They very kindly opened early to allow us to have the place to ourselves and the food they prepared was second to none. They really went above and beyond. I cannot wait to go back and eat under nicer circumstances. Thanks once again!

We went here at lunchtime to watch the football and have lunch. Burgers were nice. We ordered two desserts @ £6.95 each. A small piece of chocolate orange cake with shop bought, not great quality ice- cream. Sorry, rip off! Probably be back for food but no dessert.

Had a lovely time at The Bull last weekend with my Son. Food was fabulous..service absolutely impeccable..we ended up staying till late evening having cocktails. Also ordered a roast dinner online for the Sunday. Which was probably the best roast dinner I've had in Berkhamsted for a long time. Will definitely be going back. Great staff very friendly & welcoming.

The Bull is a fantastic pub. Amazing food, the best fish and burgers you will ever taste! The staff are wonderful and so accommodating with last minute bookings. A feel good atmosphere that never fails to impress. I would highly recommend.

Nice clean pub great beers , shame about photo on wall of Boris Johnson, nobody wants to see that when drowning your sorrows, so only 4 stars , Maybe it’s just me?

The nicest food, the sweetest staff and the most quaint decor. Food was beautiful, served warm and plenty of choice ( which is rare so close to Christmas time). It was clean and covid measures In place. Wonderful will definitely return.. and soon x

We walked to the pub on a Friday, to relive our pre-child youth of being able to go out, without our son. It is really friendly and it had the bonus of having a Southampton match on the TV - my husband is a Saints fan. !! Mark the Landlord was very welcoming and we had a really enjoyable evening.

Fabulous , can’t understand why this pub hasn’t got 5 stars . We had lunch again today and never fails to impress . Fantastic staff, awesome food and a great atmosphere . Some dishes weren’t available but not their fault as that’s the norm at the moment. People have to understand that these pubs are struggling at the moment due to things they have no control over. Not a best experience I have to sat. We booked a table for outside and all there was to offer was a couple of stools on a table next to a group (not ideal for dining) . We settled for a table inside and we were offered drinks straight away which were great. The menu is quite limited but we ordered a couple of meals that took about 30-40 minutes to arrive. The food was poor quality and might have been cooked in old frying oil. The staff were very friendly and the beer was great however the food let it down. The biggest annoyance is the automatic 10% tip they add to the bill. I will always pay a tip as I have worked in hospitality before and know how vital tips are but please don’t put them on the bill automatically this is not American.

Not impressed at all. Booked a table to watch the football at a pub that is advertised as showing the football. However it is not advertised that there will be no sound just a music track. When I asked, the guy wasn’t helpful or friendly and put the volume on a tiny bit under duress. There was no one else around. There’s always a reason why this is rated 26 out of 43 pubs in Berkhamstead and after being here for less than 5 mins it was obvious to see why. Will not return. The girl who served me was friendly enough and apologised, saying the management can be touchy !!!

We visited last night with friends and it was awesome. The service is impeccable; the staff are so friendly, helpful and attentive. The food was outstanding too, can not wait to go back.

We booked this table with limited expectations due to covid. Mark greeted us on arrival and quickly sat us at our warm heated table. He could not of been more attentive with our drinks and food order. 10/10 to the Bull Berkhamsted. Job well done...

Best Sunday roasts in the town by a mile. Fast, friendly service and a great amount of food on your plate too. I would recommend booking a table in advance as they get busy quickly.

Last time I went in The Bull in Berkhamstead was when a mate used to work behind the bar; some ten or twelve years ago.Sandy used to run it and she liked a drink!It’s been completely modernised both inside and outside. The kitchen looks clean and tidy and there’s now a garden at the end of the long car park next to the river; which is were I sat.

Halfway through a 30 mile cycle on a sunny day off last Friday I had looked around Berko high street for somewhere relaxing to stop for lunch. When I didn’t find anywhere I decided to head back and look for somewhere along the route. When I saw the Bull with its canal side garden, it looked perfect and it was. Lovely beer garden which I had all to myself, very refreshing cold beer and a gorgeous fish finger sandwich. I sat, drank, ate and read for an hour in the sunshine. Unfortunately, I then had to leave, but could have stayed all afternoon. Staff all seemed friendly. Made my trip!

Very clean pub with charming staff, we sat in the garden by the canal and watched the world go buy. This was our first visit but it certainly won't be our last. Try the Portugese lager, it went down a treat. There is also a very nice covered area if the weather is a bit chilly. The menu is of a typical traditional pub style and there is even a breakfast served.

While we were on a walk, we noticed a sign outside the pub, offering coffee and cake for £3.95. The lemon and elderflower cake we had was superb and the coffee was good too. A real bargain. There are 2 areas of seating outside, both very pleasant. We also checked the menu and the dishes were very tempting. We will be visiting again.

I have been to all the pubs in Berkhamsted and came across the Bull a few days ago. Food is really nice, value for money and cooked fresh. Outside area is great for nice days and has a parking area.

Friendly, attentive, mannered staff who provided us with a quality, generous and very enjoyable Sunday roast lunch. Excellent variety of good quality food on offer and a lovely atmosphere overall. Definitely returning to eat there and certain to recommend it to others

Went here with friend for lunch. Excellent friendly service, nice pub with lovely atmosphere. We had burger and chips and a foot long sausage! Both excellent. Lovely venue for lunch.

Nyoppusset pub med delikat innredning. Flislagte toaletter, allt i delikat stil. Varme på terrassen ute. God mat og hyggelig betjening. Men det var hyggelig å se fotball her. Tv sending i flere hjørner og flere kamper samtidig. Hyggelige gjester som koste seg m øl/vin under kampen. Veldig sosialt uten unødvendig støy. Anbefales.

The pub had a good car park at the rear, but the steps in to the pub were pretty steep, so two of our party walked round to the front entrance. The inside of the pub was very atmospheric, olde worlde and welcoming and the two members of staff we saw were friendly and helpful. The pub menu was reasonably comprehensive, although we would have liked to have had some more menus to share round the table. The food was good, and very reasonably priced, although we found the puddings a bit heavy, and would have liked something lighter like a mousse, but the custard was superb!

Had a quick set lunch with my son. Food hot and tasty and plenty to fill up two blokes with good appetites. Doesn't claim to be a 'posh nosh' pub but good, wholesome and filling lunch

Came here for our staff Christmas party meal and was not disappointed. The food was fabulous. Baked Camembert to start, beef and red wine pie and Brie and cranberry pie for mains with a whole host of roast style veggies and sides. Everything was so so good I would return in a heartbeat. 12 of us came from MK to have meal at The Gatsby but left early as disappointed. Found this little pub and was only going to stay for a quick drink but ended up staying til the end dancing and drinking along with some locals. The 2 bar staff and security man were so friendly and certainly helped to give us a memorable night. Hope I get to go back another night

I use this pub quite regularly and usually find it friendly enough but rather clicky. I arranged to meet up with my family this afternoon for a Sunday lunch. The food is excellent. I arrived before the rest of my group and rang to suggest we went somewhere else. I sat for almost an hour and was bombarded with screaming children charging all around the place. It was ridiculous.Firstly,the parents of these children were lacking in any respect for other patrons and more worryingly the management did not feel it was necessary to talk to them about their screaming,uncontrolled kids. I am a parent/grandparent and have never or would never allow my children to completely run amok this way. The Bull is a lovely pub with great food and friendly staff but it needs to address this problem.I will never recommend this public house for a Sunday lunch until it starts thinking about everyone spending in there and not the covers on their reserved tables.

Had lunch here. This is the sort of pub food sadly that makes me nervous of walking into a town pub for lunch. Magherita Pizza - from a box. (Frozen I’m guessing)Jacket potato - had never seen an oven, soggy skin almost certainly cooked in a microwave. Side salad - iceberg lettuce, dry sweet corn and bottle dressing. Warm chicken and bacon salad - the chicken was fried Chicken! It’s a shame because it doesn’t take much to make pub food interesting. This must have a lot of competition in this town. The garden was nice and the bar lovely. Staff lovely- maybe stick to being a pub rather than a food location.

Average looking english pub. DID not get a chance to try meals as the poor management would not accept Scottish bank notes or Irish money. Strange as all other outlets in this area were very polite and happy to accept. Not professional service made to feel not welcome very embarrassing for pensioner father and two 60 year olds.

Been coming to The Bull since its reopening earlier in the year. There is a wide range of drinks available and the food has also been very good on the few occasions I've eaten here. The service is always very friendly and attentive. There is also a very good atmosphere consistently in this cosy little pub!

Such a lovely lovely pub! So cosy, nicely decorated and an overall great feel to the pub! We went there for a family birthday meal after having been there for drinks before we decided to have some food! It was lovely!! Very fresh! Very reasonably priced! The presentation was spot on!!! Very important! And to top off the whole experience we were served by the most lovely staff!! I believe it was Georgina who mainly served us this day and she deserves some recognition! Absolutely brilliant at her job! A lovely girl who is passionate about her job.. there to help, very friendly and made the experience even better! I would definitely recommend visiting! We popped in for a late bevy after a curry across the road and although it was late the bar staff served us with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Great selection of beers and lagers (they have Sagres which I love from Portugal). The place had a really friendly atmosphere and will be going back that's for sure.

Good food, all day, including coffee and cake. A good range of evening food on the menu and a nice beer selection. comfortable beer garden at the rear and a pleasant area down by the canal as well. Great to see the place is welcoming and they host various events including a wednesday night Quiz night which is very busy so book a table if you want to participate.

The Bull reopened in earlier this year after being closed since October 2016 for a complete refit. The pub now looks like a pub and every effort has now made it a pleasant place to either eat or just have a relaxing drink with friends. There is a beer garden where you can sit by the canal have a drink and watch the boats go by, also suitable for children. There is also a undercover outdoor seated area for drinking or dining. Very nice place to go and would recommend paying a visit if passing.
