The Plough is a beautiful pub and the staff are amazing. I have always been made to feel welcome. The pub is dog friendly, it has a dart board and a pool table. Paula is fab! Xx

Cosy, welcoming country pub in the picturesque village of Potten End. Wide variety of beers, spirits and beers. Facing the green. Garden. Friendly bar staff.

Many years ago this was a somewhat run-down pub. What a difference Trevor and Denise have made. It is now bright, shiny, clean, and newly decorated with a welcoming open fire and cheerful staff. On Friday evenings they serve a one-course meal for around £8, cooked on-site by two lovely local ladies. Every table was packed with most of them reserved and booked in advance. The Juke Box, yes a pub with a Jukle Box, has great music and the beer and wine is very reasonably priced. The place was buzzing, full of people really relaxing and enjoying themselves. It is refreshing to find a real pub instead of a restaurant that reluctantly serves drinks at a bar at extortionate prices. Well done Trevor and Denise.

I imagine it's a great place for just a pint and catch up... It is not somewhere for food. Staff are lovely, setting is great. It's just the food that is a complete let down!

Nice local village pub with a local Potten End crowd which doesn't get bogged down with having all the right airs n graces. Has some outside space at the rear (that could quickly n easily be improved) and a bbq. Serves some of the local Mad Squirrel beers 😍

Gracias!

We came in for the street food and found the event very well run, there were plenty of stalls, a good variety of offerings and seats to be had. Staff in the pub were very friendly and plenty of them clearing glasses - in fact a bit too keen, keep your glass in view. The ordering at the bar is meant to streamline the system but makes it into a bottleneck- but no real issue there was a Tring beer tent outside! Great event and pub give it a go!

Well, we visited the stall at Beaconsfield bank holiday fayre market and chose 2 delicious cinnamon doughnut 'things' plus a gorgeous seeded sourdough loaf which has stunned us, it's so tasty. It's 23 miles from our home to the bakery but we plan to plague them for their bread and goodies; just hope they keep in the freezer!

Wanted to leave a review of the St Albans excellent taproom from the brewery. Being a bit of a novice beer drinker i needed a bit of guidance on what and how much of each drink I should have ( one of the recommendations was a 9.7% stout that is apparently best drank in thirds if you can manage it!) by the wonderful team member Marcus behind the bar. A brilliant afternoon’s experience that I would really recommend if you’re looking for something local and a bit different.
