I always visit Marlows cafe when I'm visiting Hemel Hempstead for the delicious, cooked to perfection, tasty food. I have never been let down with the quality and always enjoy my prefered dish Peri peri Chicken with all the trimmings...if anything its got better! I love the cosy, warm and welcoming atmosphere and the way there elderly customers are looked after is so lovely and heart warming to see.

GREAT BREAKFAST 10 OUT OF 10 . I REALLY RECOMMEND EVERYONE TO TRY THIS PLACE . IF YOU WANT FRESH QUICK AND HOT FOOD AND NICE ATMOSPERE GO TO MARLOWES CAFE

avoid this place, like the plague ! They charge extra money for every item , which should actually be included! cream in a hot chocolate 70p extra, I asked for my baked beans to be heated up last time I visited this place, the staff slapped £1.50 on the bill. i asked for the money back today and the owners tried to lie to me. They snatched my bag and accused me of not paying i have never done this anywhere in my life. I placed my card against the card reader and it did not acknowledge the payment. i had to call the police to retrieve my bag, the police came straight away, thankfully to allow me to pay my bill in full and leave with my bag! I will never enter this place again. I am a courteous and polite person and will not be treated like I'm a criminal. I have no criminal record. I am a professional person and am embarking on a forensic psychology degree. Be careful to check your bill each time.

I’ve been going to Marlowes cafe for many years on and off as I’ve always found it the best cafe in town. Even better since it moved to a new premises a few doors down. I go with friends and I go alone it’s always very friendly, very good old kind of customer service (I like a lot ) and nothing is to much trouble it’s so welcoming and has a great vibe overall. I normally have the Marlowes breakfast, good ingredients, bacon is really nice quality I’m always happy! I’ve tried the roast on a Sunday Very nice, but I’d recommend fresh vegetables, I’m not a veggie person so overall I was happy with my meal. Easy parking for disabled customers Dog friendly on the patio with water bowls and the patio looks great. I look forward to trying new meals on the menu, but I’m a creature of habit. Because my regular cafes done a huge price hike many times I’ll be going to Marlowes cafe more often now as I feel I get good value for money. Thanks guys!

Decided to visit for brunch. Both had a full English breakfast, cup of tea, sparkling water and a diet coke. Staff are lovely and friendly, cute atmosphere, food came out in about 10 mins, best hash browns I've ever had! Very reasonable price too. Will return when we visit the area again! Thankyou! :)

To begin with, a wonderfully warm welcome on entry, The staff here are the very best a business could wish for, always smiling, attentive, whilst remaining professional. I’m fortunate enough to class the owner as a friend and for someone in his early years, has grasped the concept of running a successful business faultlessly. There is a very diverse menu, of which I have tasted the majority and can give no criticism whatsoever. All in all, as the title suggests, a sensational restaurant that I will continue to visit and bring as much new custom to as possible. Very well done to Al and the team!!!

Just been here for breakfast and am not disappointed, the staff are very friendly, the food is tasty and the price isn’t too much. We asked for the 25% discount on coffee promotion which had unfortunately run out, we didn’t notice this but they honoured it nonetheless. We will be back.

This really is great cafe . The staff could not be friendlier and always polite . Only little criticism-wish they offered option smaller meals/snacks as meals are very large which is great for most although not smaller appetites . Would never stop me going in though as so welcoming -thank you

Turned up as a party of 8 for Sunday breakfast. The young lady serving was brilliant, seating is quickly and meeting our (all different!) orders quickly and with a smile. The food was fresh and not and tasty. Excellent value and we'll worth a visit.

Food was OK, not brilliant. The service, on the other hand, was a little too brusque for my liking. Server brought the wrong thing and insisted I had ordered it - as if I don't know what I want for my own breakfast! Ridiculous. Won't ever go there again.

The cafe have an extensive menu, which is very tasty. The staff are very friendly and nothing too much trouble. The pies are homemade and delicious. We went there for an evening meal and enjoyed it so much returned tor breakfast the following day. The cafe was quite busy (obviously popular) but the service was still quick. If we were in Hemel Hempstead again would definitely go back.

Owner and staff very friendly, accomodating and attentive. We have a young baby and the staff always do their best to find us room. Food is freshly cooked, well portioned and tasty. Excellent value for money. A real hidden gem.

I have used this cafe and restaurant on and off for a number of years. Excellent freshly cooked meals. There is always a "special" or a good roast dinner. I'm only sorry I don';t live locally any more to use this place regularly. Any of the (all day) breakfast selection are well worth the money and the extensive menu ranging from snacks to jacket potatoes as well as a range of desserts are worth sampling. The staff work hard here and the same family have offered a warm welcome to many regular customers for a number of years. There is not much to look forward to on a return visit to the centre of Hemel Hempstead (not the most inspiring of towns!) - but this is certainly a highlight. But since I moved away, I have to say that they have made considerable effort to improve the facilities within the pedestrianised area of the town.

Two of us popped in here today for Sunday lunch. We had the roast lamb special for £6.20 and cottage pie for £5.50. They were both served within 5 minutes of sitting down, were of a good size and both piping hot. We would of had apple pie for dessert but they don't take cards and we only had a few pounds in cash on us. Tea was £1 a cup and coffee was £1.50.

This was a very good dinner. I had home made chicken,mushroom & ham pie along with mashed potatoes 3 veg which consisted of carrot, cabbage & peas plus gravy. It was very hot & very tasty & I thoroughly enjoyed it all.

The food is nice enough at the Marlowes Café but unfortunately the Manager over charged us by £10 and when he was questioned about it he couldn't tell us what extra's we'd had so he had to give us our money back. So if you go here make sure you add up the bill yourself!!!!

I have passed this café many times and it's always very busy. I'm so glad that I tried it. The food was good, the service was warm and friendly and the prices were extremely reasonable. A cold sandwich was only £2 and a large latte £1.30. What a bargain! I can see why it is so popular.

I always go there on Sunday morning for breakfast and sometimes during the week for dinner or lunch they are friendly and welcoming plenty to choose from on the menu and milkshakes are delicious

A little gem with a large menu and daily specials. Although there is plenty on the menu any changes or requests are no problem. Good and helpful service with well cooked food.

Had breakfast with my father and son (4yr old) and it's a lovely little place to sit. Friendly and welcoming, and they were more than happy to mix and match the menu for my son. I had the poached eggs, and they were cooked to perfection!

A friendly little Cafe/Restaurant, only a small cafe but with an extensive menu, this place never appears to be empty, the food is lovely, some of it home made i.e pies lasagna, they serve anything from sandwiches to roast dinners and are open 7 days a week,we will definately head for this place on our next visit.
