The best restaurants serving Other cuisines food in Colchester East of England

Went for breakfast and enjoyed every last fork full. The service was very good, the staff were friendly and the food delicious.

Stayed on Mersea Island for a few days with friends for birthday celebration and was looking for somewhere to go for afternoon tea. Found The Gilt Rooms on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a go. We had to book for the afternoon tea but wow so worth it. Everything from the freshly made sandwiches to the warm fresh out of the oven scones and home bakes cakes (chocolate eclair, victoria sandwich, lemon drizzle and choc brownie were amazing. All washed down with a perfectly chilled glass of prosecco and lashings of tea or coffee. It was the absolute best afternoon tea I've ever had and have had a few. Will definitely visit again when there.

Lovely place, lovely food and Friendly staff

We didn't know Colchester at all, but happened upon Sip and Tuck when we were looking for lunch, and it was perfect for our requirements. Our only regret was that the portions were too generous for us to have room for a slice of cake! In fact, the Ploughman's defeated my husband, and so he had to ask for a doggy bag and the leftovers were sufficient for his lunch the next day.

Went today with the other half and her Mother. Got to say the service was absolutely first class and the food we had was so freshly cooked and beautifully presented in fact the Spiced Parsnip soup i had was the best i’ve ever tasted. The Wine was lovely and the whole place was spotlessly clean. Highly recommend and when back to see the Mother in Law 🤦😂 will definitely be back.

Definitely our favourite breakfast spot! I love their breakfast baguette it’s jammed packed with delicious food and at a great price! Their milkshakes and cold coffees are just beyond amazing and the staff/owners are so lovely as well!! Can’t recommend enough

Meal sizes vary, rack of ribs was a good Size Meal but the pie and small splodge of mash with no veg for £17.95 was a rip off. Service good.

Went to see a local band playing at this pub. A very small place, but a very lively atmosphere. Staff are super friendly and despite it's reputation is actually a very safe pub and a really good night out. Drinks are a good price and everything was perfect on our visit.

Great cappuccino. Been busy but great service both times I've been. Coffee has a nice taste and is reasonably priced. They do take away as well as sitting in.

We were made very welcome at the Layer Fox Pub. Our party of 10 had people with various dietary needs and the pub catered for all of us. Family friendly and old school hospitality with superb service. Would recommend. Food was v good including a super Fish and Chips. Perfect after a day at Colchester Zoo.

Fantastic place to have breakfast

First visit, very friendly with a relaxed atmosphere.

Went to Live and Let Live finking it’d be a nice day out wiv our 6-monf-old, but it was proper dissapointing. Sat in the gardin and some blokes at anuvver table was smokin weed, stinkin the place out. It ain’t rite wiv a baby about, is it? We askd ‘em to stop, proper polite, but they got all mouthey and carried on. Told the staff, hopin they’d sort it, but they just shruged and didn’t give a toss. Made us feel like we didn’t mater. Proper let down, this place. Wont be back, and I woudn’t tell no one to go, speshally not wiv kids.
