We arrived to celebrate a birthday on 28th Feb. The waiters were very polite and courteous. Food- everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal (the pie was absolutely delicious) and it was good to see the food arrived piping hot. They were obliging in letting us decorate the table and keeping the cake till later in the evening. Thank you for making it an amazing evening for the birthday lady!

Was recommended this resturant and after looking at the location we decided to visit after a hospital appointment. The food was very tasty and was of good quality. We had a burger and sausage and mash the quality was very good and the service was friendly,

Waited 40 minutes for 2 coffees after waiting outside until 11.24 for the doors to be unlocked. Opening time is 1100. Coffee cold, had obviously been left standing. No apology just rude response stating that they were too busy and had no help. We were their first customers that day ! Asked to speak to manager, told that they were the person who was rude was the manager !! Will never return and will advise friends not to.

We had a very nice waitress very polite and helpful until we discovered once we got home our bill, we was charged £20.58 for what we thought was for a 2 course meal, Roast and Apple pie, but was told the apple pie was extra, and was not on the 2 course menu?? This was not stated anywhere on the menu, so we was charged another £9.95 for this, so in all got charged £38.46 which includes 2 cokes, the bill should of been roughly £28, so what robbed of £10 absolutely disgusting, if I was not on the way to the airport, I would of gone back. Our waitresses name was Lynn of Prince Avenue, Toby Southend on sea. Beware.

Our meal, drinks and the general ambience were fine. However, I was horrified when I had to visit the Ladies toilet facility. First of all, the wall-mounted radiator was more rust than metal, and I'm guessing based on its current rust state, must have been in situ for 20 to 30 years. Something else on the wall alongside, presumably the electric hand-drier but I can't recall for sure, was nearly as badly rusted, and together it gave the whole bathroom set up a real shabby feel. I then checked the 2 toilet cubicles so I could choose the one that looked best for use. Both toilet seats were barely attached to the bowls. Both were slipped off to one side, and when I tried to straighten one prior to gently sitting down on it for fear of slipping off onto the floor, the whole seat also slid forward from the back. I think it was held on by good-will more than anything practical. The sink/sinks were fairly clean but the taps harbored much mold and limescale around the bases. I really cannot grasp why businesses, particularly food establishments, find it so hard to keep clean and in good and safe working order these basic but much needed facilities. What's the point in expending effort in your dining room and bar, with good food and decent staff, if you don't then pay a bit extra to keep the toilet facilities clean, fresh, modern and usable? Nearly every visitor will use that facility, so why not double the positive impact by their impression of the bathroom facilities rather than completely negate any positives created by what they experience in the restaurant?
