Starbucks in Central Bedfordshire

Sitting in Starbucks Baldock. Understaffed! Rubbish bin overflowing! Tables and floor dirty! Cobwebs and dirt on window ledges! Coffee Ok 🥴

This has been a favourite for many years but now I think it is going down .The owners are clueless about this branch ,its not a big area where 100's of buses stop ,but one were a high percentage of locals are the main people using some 2-3 times a day and more .They think they know more than anyone ,but care about nothing .Staff are changing customers unhappy .I am cutting my time going in as staff changes and prices are OTT.

I wanted a refreshing cold drink and my friend had his regular coffee which he has regularly at various starbucks. I was charged an extortionate £4.8 I am amazed that what is just flat lemonade and blackcurrant was so overpriced. I complained but their response was not even apologetic. I do not recommend this place ever

Don’t try and do a video meeting. Member of staff dragged every chair in the place, noisily across the floor. If I’m paying £16 for 2 coffees and a sandwich, I expect to be able to make a quick call without the noise drowning everything out (and yes,I had headphones on!)

Team of 4 young women - lots of chatting, not much making - waited an age for 1 tea. No stirrers, no milk, dirty.

Went in for a caramel cappuccino she always has a smile that makes my day always ask how is my day going She is a good asset to the company and she is perfect and beautiful and her name is mads plz let ur stuff no wat a gd job there doing

Saturday morning service was fast and professional. Fully stocked shelves plenty of seats. Tables clean and today. A pleasure

Service on drinks was quick toast was slow. Plenty of seats and space to sit plus the added bonus of Sunday papers. A shame Starbucks seem to have reduced their offering of bottled soft drinks.

Left waiting outside. Meant to open 6 but still was standing outside 6.06. Annoying when the staff could see us outside.

The service was polite and reasonably quick. The hot chocolate was well flavoured but not up to the standard of Costas.

Stopped off on my own as somewhere convenient to stop. Had a cold drink and sat out in the sun. Staff pleasant, iced coffee drink really good. Pleasant place to sit. Only criticism is ashtrays full of water and dog ends. Sort that and would have been a 5.

Had a quick business meeting here and there is a large seating area which has recently been done. There are a variety of seating options available from couches, larger tables to small tables. They have added a lot of power points for laptops/phones to be plugged into. The staff are always very friendly when I go here. Coffee is more expensive - but that's what you get for going to Starbucks. There is a McDonalds in the same unit, so you could go there if you preferred something cheaper, however if you want somewhere to relax while reading a book, catch up with friends or have a business meeting, this is the place for you.

Recently updated and extended looks great with an extended food offer. The coffee shop is in the Extra services with a large range of other food offers. Nice for a catch up and relax but you need a bigger pocket as it’s more expensive than a high street Starbucks. Outside seating. Staff friendly and helpful.

We stopped here on our drive up the motorway . The place was clean and tidy , service was quick , coffee and bagel were nice . A bit expensive but edibale .

Stopped here as needed to use facilities, best ever frapp I’ve had. Staff were pleasant and place was clean. Would definitely visit again.

I wasnt expecting the choice of cake to be on offer when i visited with friends after an evening out. The staff were fab especially Jas she was brilliant and so helpfull. Coffee up to usual standard and the cake was delicious.

Yes it’s a Starbucks but it’s attached to the Marriott hotel and I think it’s linked to the hotel. Any Starbucks promotions etc cannot be redeemed here as it’s not a true Starbucks in the sense of the word. Nevertheless it serves the same coffee, sandwiches, cakes etc so exactly the same virtually....but not quite.

I picked the medium latte to go. My latte tasted of burnt coffee. The place looks nice and the staff was friendly.

Starbucks are all pretty much the same but the service in this Starbucks is always very friendly. We use it regularly on trips down to Heathrow as it is a good halfway stopping spot. Very pleased it is as good as it is. Thank you Starbucks and especially the barista with the lovely long hair.

Welcome Break ( yes not extra even though it's in an extra service area). What have you done! Used to have as many if not more locals use this Starbucks before you took over, could you pre order yes, get your reward drinks yes! Then along comes welcome break, no longer can you pre order, you can't get you reward drinks and the cost has gone up 30p a cup. Fantastic customer service, why have all the locals left I wonder?

The servers here are lovely and they are clearly as mortified as all the regulars that since being taken over by Extra, the focus has shifted clearly to ripping off passing motorists who have little choice if they want a coffee.

A great store with extra friendly staff and always receive a great service. The ‘Pre Oder’ option on the App means I can offer coffee in car park and by time I get into store, coffee ready and no waiting in line.

Located at Baldock services on the A1. Usual Starbucks but has a nice seating area and outdoor seating in the courtyard or on the grass, ideal on a sunny day!

If you are going up and down the A1 then this is the place to stop .The Coffee is very good ,and you get a warm welcome . The prices are from £1.00 and 75p if you take your own cup . If you like...

Is there any bad starbucks? I don't think there is except the one in Blackpool but that was only once 😂

Been to this Starbucks a couple of times and service has always been good! Staff have been friendly and the cafe has been clean.

Visited here to pick up two coffees but waited forever to get served even though there was three people serving the queue wasn't moving because the service was was slow. I left after waiting 10 minutes with the queue not moving. Suggest going to Costa across the road.

Very nice drinks as usuall but where we are the blueberry muffins. Sure the chocolate one was OK but not like the blueberry ones Please make more.☺☺

Myself and a friend recently visited Starbucks for coffee the service was excellent polite efficient service from well trained staff the tables were clean .there was a good selection of snacks and cakes seating area inside and outside clean and comfortable I recommend this toto all.

got told we weren't allowed to sit in or be served because the girl wanted to mop the floor and had no other time to do it, thought it was supposed to be open 24/7 but apparently not if we can't be served for an hour.. Also feels very unwelcoming even before as all chairs are up and are up quite a while making it feel as if you're inconveniencing them..

i was a bit reluctant to write a review of Starbucks because they are all pretty much the same !However, i thought id review it all the same.The location is at a service area just off teh A1 near Baldock so parking is easy and they have an outdoor area if we ever get any warm sunny weather.The coffee is good and staff are friendly.

I have been Going to this branch for a few years now and find it the best I have been to .It is still own run and it can't be wrecked by the likes Queensway .They're like there Mc Donald's I.e. badly run and badly treated staff. The staff here are a real pleasure to meet and are always happy. Nothing is to much for them.I have passed my comments on to there head office but its never fed back. My suggestion don't dump the stores to franchises your re destroying the companies good name,

Very good services with extensive choices and large clean seating area. Also clean toilets and plenty of parking. Starbucks very good

As a regular to Starbucks at the services the staff have got to know us and even our orders! They are always friendly and chatty which makes the evening more enjoyable. Prices can be a bit expensive but the coffee is lovely and using the starbs app get a free coffee every 15 visits, so time to go for the big one then!

Went there on Sunday for a quiet coffee. It not unusual to have to lie up for coffee. But it is unusual to have the staff slate about another member of staff in front of customers. While not making coffee.

Quick and friendly service, standard fare and prices (£3.45 for a large mocha), and clean. I loved the large outdoor seating area although a couple more umbrellas wouldn't go amiss.

As a frequent visitor to this Starbucks I cannot fault their customer service and friendly staff, even when it is really busy they serve efficiently and are always friendly, to say it is in a service stations and have a lot of customers every day they keep it very clean and well maintained.

As a regular to the service station coffee is always good, staff are polite & friendly, this comes a close 2nd to the Welwyn garden city store.

visited on way back from watford. daughter got drink from starbucks which she loved but was costly. as its a service station with communal seating, we then got combination of food and drinks from mcd, dominos and m&s. very useful

Attended here imafter a long journey as my baby needed a break on traveling,had a coffee and tasted very bitter and the milk was scalding hot and tasted over steamed. Tables we unclean and sticky.

I regularly get coffee from this Starbucks located at the Baldock Services. They are efficient and always provide a consistently excellent experience. Give whatever seasonal drinks are on the menu a try and don't ever pass up the Pumpkin Spice - one of the best drinks in the history of human civilisation!!! Okay, maybe a wee exaggeration ;) But go venti and get extra whipped cream.

Always a great cup of coffee. A great place to relax during a day out shopping. It also good place to grab a sandwich or a piece of cake. Great staff.

This Starbucks is in the Baldock A1/A507 service area and I stayed at the adjacent Days Inn (see separate review). I opted for the "English breakfast" at Starbucks. All the right food and decent portions BUT the food was pre cooked and under hot lights, after placing it on the plate it was popped in the microwave to heat it up. Result a bland meal. Only one server and he seemed a bit stretched although very pleasant and helpful. Will I have breakfast there again - no! I'll try the continental next time. The so called music from the nearby service area was far too loud, I like my breakfast in peace.
