Great food but very slow on serving drinks when ordered through app. No dedicated drinks server care more about food delivery than drinks. Atleast 15min wait when you can see your drinks sat on the bar waiting even on slow days.

Always have a nice experience when visiting this weather spoons. Service is fast and I mean fast like drinks in under 5mins when using the app from the table and food usually in under 20 from point of ordering sometimes as fast as 10mins at quieter times. Staff are always friendly and helpful. In the winter they have an open fireplace going, adding to the good vibes. It's somewhere you can easily take the family for a meal or the partner for a quiet drink.

This review is for the Wetherspoon restaurant experience. Came here on a very busy Saturday afternoon with my 2 year old grandson for lunch, Service was good, food was good.. let down by the 50 something woman staff member who I asked directions for the disabled/ baby changing toilet. She waved her hand in the direction while rushing past me failing to open the the door to this facility which needs a key to be opened! I had a 2 year old who is in the process of toilet training that needed access asap, she was very dismissive which resulted in me having to find another member of staff to open the door! Shame as up until then I was very impressed with everything.

Stayed for 1 night this weekend. Originally sceptical as never heard of Weatherspoons having accommodation. Arrived around 5pm to a very busy pub and bar area. Had to wait quite a while till a ‘barperson’ went to serve us as no designated Reception area for room bookings. As it turned out it was a cupboard and once staff member opened the door it was a makeshift office space for checking in. Rooms were up a steep flight of stairs so am not sure if this would be suitable for people with mobility issues. Room was a twin, extremely large and very big bathroom. Slightly tired looking room but very clean. Hospitality tray would put Premier Inn and Holiday Inn to shame. Multiple sachets of tea and coffee and milk and even sachets of Oak milk, biscuits and 2 bottles of water. An ironing board, iron and hairdryer also provided Sleep- beds were extremely comfortable as were the pillows, all with protectors. Was informed on check-in that the bar was open until 1pm, we were out with friends and returned at 11pm. As our room was on the 1st floor we did hear an incredible amount of noise but we always take ear plugs with us (seasoned travellers)!! I think if we went again we would see if there were rooms higher up on a different floor to eliminate some of the noise.. Breakfast was in the bar and the usual offerings for breakfast from their bar menu. This arrived swiftly and piping hot. We were impressed with our room and 1 night stay here and will definitely use again when we are in the area. There is no car park but we left our car at relatives and walked into town but we understand there is a car park nearby we could have used.

Went here just under a week ago. When I got home I saw on the receipt I was charged for drinks I did not request. Emailed customer service who have done NOTHING. No apology, no refund. Laura Barclay stated it had been passed onto the manager but then ignored my next email until I mentioned I will be leaving a review. I have now asked her three times for the company complaints procedure but she has chosen to ignore this each time. Absolutely disgusting company who are happy to charge you for drinks not ordered and nothing done about it. The manger of Biggleswade deserves to he fired.

Been here a few times for breakfast lately. It's cheap enough and to be honest the breakfast is half decent for the cost, free coffee refills etc.My only gripe is that when they're NOT busy they seem to dawdle about and not watching for the food to come out onto the pass, it doesn't stay hot very long anyway. At my last visit the place was nearly empty and my breakfast came out, I looked about for service only to find two waitresses chatting behind the bar, in and out of the office while my breakfast got colder and colder. I gave it a couple of minute then just went and collected it myself from the pass. I got a bit of an odd look the next time the waitress passed but I had my words ready for her, she said nothing, luckily for her. They are actually more switched on at busy times I've noticed. Come on Wetherspoons, get yer finger out in the mornings and put a bit of life into it all.

I work in the trade myself and have run kitchens for nearly 15 years, if this was a member of my staff they would no longer be welcome in my team. We were lucky enough to get away from all this pandemonium to this fantastic hotel in a small town. (Although it did have one of the best Retail parks we’ve ever come across on the edge of town). The reception area for the hotel is in the main bar, in a little cupboard. Just get the attention of one of the staff. We spoke to India. She was very helpful. Even offering to reserve a table for us in the evening as it got very busy. (I was relieved to hear this as I had been implemented as I had suggested this to another Spoons in Salisbury a couple of years earlier). The room was amazing. The decor was up to date without being overly modern. It was comfortable (apart from the beds and pillows - but I always have trouble with them), with a settee in which we could relax - so much better than having to sit on the bed.The facilities were spot on, and there was ample tea, coffee etc.I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

Very comfortable bed, great hospitality tray and very clean. But omg...the bathroom! Just stunning! One of the best showers I have ever used. The room price was worth it for the shower alone! Service wasn't with the same cheer and enthusiasm we usually experience at JDWs (almost abandoned on the table without any conversation or directions to condiments etc), but the order was accurate, the food an improvement on the last visit, and the speed pleasing. What was a 'give it one last try' trip has partially redeemed it, though some refinement and CPD would make it even better.

He was so patient & enthusiastic as I chose meals & drinks for just little old me and my 4 yr old grandchild- a Wetherspoons devotee. When it comes to eggs Benedict soft poached it's impossible to go cold in a couple of minutes. The quality of the food was spoiled by not cooking eggs fresh and serving on the cold ham and muffin which require no actual cooking. Full breakfasts were also TEPID on cold plates.

We stayed at the Hotel on Sunday night, due to being a Bank Holiday weekend, it was extremely busy. I booked a family room for 2 adults and 2 children, when we arrived, the room was not made up for a family, this was rectified soon after. We went out for the evening, arrived back around 9, had a drink outside and was told by the bouncer that children were not allowed after 9?? How can children not be allowed if it is a Hotel? We stayed in Room 101 which was lovely and clean but the noise was horrendous. Around 11:30pm somebody decided to organise the cellar below the room and was dragging barrels around for half and hour! The patrons of the pub were loud and rowdy when leaving so we didn’t get any sleep until gone 1am. It was a shame because it could have been a lovely stay had it not been for the fact that it was very noisy. Not one for families!

In fairness to the majority of the staff, I find it difficult to write this review. We have been in the Crown Hotel Wetherspoon's on 4 past occassions. We have been customers at no end of Wetherspoons throughout the country as have been our peers. They were all of a certain standard, and we would go to them again. Biggleswade Wetherspoons lets not only some of it's staff down, but it's reputation too. The front of house staff are fine, they are polite and friendly. Food wise it is a real problem and the front of house staff have to, as diplomatically as possibly deal with the problem. We and others have experienced food arriving luke warm, burnt, out of stock repeatedly, the tables are dirty and despite the front of house's efforts.....we wouldn't eat there again. I believe this particular Wetherspoons originally had an experienced team from other pubs but they only stayed there for ?4-6 weeks. Maybe this particular "Spoons" needs more support in the kitchen and table cleaning department. The real ales are fine....seriously it is just the dirty tables and food that needs to be improved. Wetherpoons is a "recipe" pub and it doesn't match the recipe of other Wetherspoons.

Visited the pub of this Wetherspoon on Saturday 9th Feb following a meal out in the town for my friend’s 40th Birthday. We were waiting at the bar, which wasn’t particularly busy, for 5-10 minutes and the manager proceeded to choose customers either side of our party who had arrived after us. When challenged about this the manager proceeded to insist he was right in choosing to serve other people over us. When asked for his name to complain he responded “are you serious”. At this point we chose to leave and visit another pub in the town. It seemed that he chose not to serve our group preferring to serve drunk young blokes instead. Perhaps this attitude was taken because he seemingly could not manage his staff to work efficiently as there were 3 staff behind the bar who seemed to be ‘drifiting’ about instead of attending to customers.

We go here all the time when the family come down. However why we keep coming I don't know l. We always have problems here. Once we found a blue sticker in our burger. Others we've found hairs in our food. And also staff being rude with us/dirty looks. This time they handed all our dinners apart from my 2 year old daughters. They said it will come in a minute. After 20 mins when everyone has almost eaten we had to remind the staff again to bring it. Out of order. Not only that but my veggy brunch which has suppose to have 3 sausages came with 2. I mentioned this and they said they will get the other. Guess what? Never came. I know it's only 1 sausage but it's the principle of it. And this happens half the time i order the veggy brunch.

We have been here several times and as it is my husband's 73rd birthday today but had other things planned, we had lunch here yesterday. He loves to have haggis on his birthday as it falls on Burns night. We arrived just after 2 and most of the vacant tables hadn't been cleared so we had to clear our own but they weren't very busy. We ordered the Caledonian beef burger with whisky sauce and a jacket potato with cheese. It didn't take too long to arrive but when the sauce didn't appear after a few minutes my husband asked a waitress who said it was coming. After around 5 minutes he asked again and was told it was coming. After a few more minutes he went to the kitchen to get it himself and had to wait for them to find it and put it in a small jug. By now the chips and onion rings were cold. Now my jacket potato. Very disappointed as it was very small with just a pinch of cheese. I'm a slow eater but I ate it in 3 bites so you can tell how small it was, even too small for a child. As I'm disabled and my poor husband was eating his now cold lunch I couldn't get up to complain about it and the staff just walked on by when I tried to call them over.

Visited today for what was meant to be a New Year's Day treat. We walked in at 12.30 and found a clean table in a quiet alcove overlooking the high street. As our granddaughter is a regular at wetherspoons in York and knew it was easier and quicker to use her app on her mobile that was what we did. We ordered at 12.38 and approx 10mins later our drinks arrived. Quite an acceptable time to wait. However we then noticed the amount of tables that were piled with empty crockery, glasses etc and more worrying was the amount of food left. We remained positive until we had waited for an hour and still no food. On checking we were told they would investigate. By now the tables round us had acquired yet more rubbish, bottles etc and nobody had been to clear them. People came in took one look and walked out. As we had paid for our meals we waited, and waited. Eventually two meals arrived, one of which had an egg on it that was like a rubber joke one, the rest of the meal was cold. When another 2 meals came we sent back the mixed grill. Then daughter found her steak was not only overcooked but inedible - so another meal hot sent back. The final two meals came and were acceptable but it spoilt what should have been a family meal as we were eating in relays!! When the other meals came back they were OK, but nobody apologised or even checked if everything was OK!! Not a good lunch. And after over two hours the tables near had still not been cleared!! We will not be returning.

All staff look and act like they can't be bothered, I expect a wait on food in a place as busy like this, this wasn't the issue. Although the food was ropey undercooked, poor quality. Yes food is cheap so you don't have high expectations but this was just poor and unworthy of a single penny

Popped into the Crown today for a Sunday lunch. Although we found it a lovely large spacious place, with very reasonable prices, my partner was somewhat disappointed as no Sunday Roast was on the menu..maybe a suggestion to the management?

Pop in fairly regularly for a drink when in the ‘Wade’. Plenty of room, outside seating area, usual good selection of well kept beers and lagers, just a shame only two mediocre red wines to choose from. Never tried the food but it seems popular with other folks and looks well presented with ample po. Just a shame that there appears to be a grease slick from the side of the main building to another store area which gives off an unfortunate smell and looks pretty naff.

I came to The Crown Hotel for lunch on a sunny September. The food and drinks were at a good price and were enjoyable although they didn't have the Pizza we initially wanted on the menu. There is a nice beer garden and the pub itself has a nice interior that I believe has been recently renovated.

We booked one night for our wedding anniversary whilst househunting in the area and when we arrived there was chilled sparkling wine, card, balloon and sparkles on the bed waiting for us - absolutely made our night, thank you!! I expected the bare minimum from a wetherspoons but the room was spacious, huge bathroom with a rain shower (!), a view over the market place and completely soundproof.

Ordered kids fish and chips, waited 20 minutes for them to tell us that they didn’t have any. By this point the children were getting fed up so asked for a recommendation on what would be the quickest. We were then recommend the fish which we had already been told there wasn’t any of. We then proceeded to order something different off of the children’s 3 piece meal, we then went to get the children’s drink, fruit and price difference refund. We were then told to take a seat and it’s be brought to us. The drinks we had ordered then came to us incorrect and were then told the till couldn’t do refunds after waiting 15 minutes. The state of the restaurant was such a mess which could’ve been half acceptable If the restaurant was busy, due to this we then got up and left. We have been to this weatherspoons many times and have never had these problems before.

So we went to Wetherspoons finding that our usual breakfast venue was closed for holidays. Having eaten at Wetherspoons before for lunch and dinner and found it excellent, we thought (mistakenly in hindsight) that a cooked breakfast would not be a problem. Food arrived reasonably promptly, my wife had the berry porridge and that was fine, but my "large breakfast" was a trainwreck. Broken egg yolk, cold bacon, cold sausages, tepid toast, woody tomato and soggy mushroom served on tepid plate. My wife took it back and politely requested another. Cooking staff weren't rude but were rather disinterested to say the least. 10 minutes or so later a new plate was brought out, 2 eggs, not broken yolks but rock hard, woody tomato, soggy mushroom, tepid bacon and sausages encore. OK, so its Wetherspoons and not the cafe de paris. Ok, so what does one expect for £5? However, this is not good enough. Waitress was lovely and very apologetic. Never again.
