This was a regular stop for their wonderful cakes and breakfasts. They had been advertising afternoon teas so we decided to treat ourselves just before going on holiday. We booked a few weeks in advance but when we arrived on the day we found the gates locked. We did see the owner leaving but he just said "we're closed - got no staff" and drove off. The whole garden center has been closed since and word is they went bankrupt. We feel really sorry for the wonderful staff and can only hope they found something else 😢

Stopped here yesterday for breakfast with my son. Lovely fresh produce cooked to order, very accommodating, friendly staff and loved the quirkiness of the interior, unique nick nacks everywhere. The added bonus of a small garden centre, retro clothing, musical instruments, homeware etc all on site....this place is a like a tardis, all the little nooks waiting to be discovered! Will definitely revisit and recommend for a hearty, down to earth breakfast experience.

Just visited as family of four. We have been before and understand that the food is cooked to order so expected a little wait for our food. However, We arrived as the doors opened and were the second people to order. We ordered hot drinks and 3 breakfasts and a toastie. And then we sat and waited. And waited. And waited. At no point did anyone up date us as to the where abouts of our food until an hour had past. Our first breakfast came out and was cold. We then waited for the second breakfast which came 5 minutes later. The toastie arrived, cold and then after complaining the final breakfast arrived. We were offered drinks to say sorry but unfortunately 2 members of our party couldn’t eat their food as it was cold and quite honestly we couldn’t face another hours wait just to replace them. Whilst we were in there a couple entered the cafe and left 15 mins later after receiving no attention from the staff there. It’s such a shame as two of the breakfasts were hot and the produce was lovely. It’s just totally unacceptable to wait so long for food and then have it come out cold. We refused to pay the full bill as each breakfast was priced at £9.50. A price we would have been happy to pay if the food was hot! A real shame as it’s a fab little cafe.

Had an amazing breakfast with my parents & children on Fathers Day. Fantastic food and brilliant friendly service. I haven’t been out since lockdown but loved my visit as I haven’t been out much having to shield but the consistent quality of food is brilliant and keeps us coming back. Also we happened to be in the cafe whilst the rude party of 4 in previous review visited. The owner & staff clearly tried their best to accommodate it was a wet and cold day everyone wanting to sit inside instead of outside and they insisted on a table not the sofas which were available Don’t think a saint could have helped them. But I’ll be back as soon as I can.

We arrived for a breakfast this morning, after having rung and booked a table the Sunday before. We were met by a member of staff who told us they didn't have our booking, which was disappointing but fair enough as mistakes can be made. However what was unacceptable was the way we were treated by the owner/manager of The Fork in Hoe. The lady who owns/manages the cafe was rude, nonchalant, aggressive and belittling. She made an excuse that she only opened indoor seating the day before, so we couldn't have made a booking. She then stormed off to go and find our booking in the garden centre, whilst muttering profanities under her breath. At that point we decided we would leave and go somewhere else for our Father's Day breakfast, we went to go and speak to her on the way out, out of courtesy, and she came out with more excuses which were again rude; she had lots of seating outside, can't control the weather, we must not have booked... So we walked away to our car. As we got to our car she had followed us out and started shouting across the car park at us, waving her hands and again being rude, when we closed our doors she was throwing her arms in the air and storming away. It looked a lovely place, however the actions of the owner on this day would NEVER make me visit again.

This is a small place adjoining a garden centre . The cake we had was an excellent chocolate cake and I had a very good pot of tea. My wife had coffee which she found very good . All usual COVID precautions are in place . As mentioned in other reviews Eddie the dog is there . He is a small black dog and was very quiet, as he had a muzzle on which stopped him eating anything.

Good points first is that the cake, latte and service were good. However, we unfortunately won't be returning as the whole time I felt very uncomfortable because of the roaming free inside dog which aggressively barked at my 2 year old, which we did not expect within an eating establishment anyway! I hate to mention him, as reading your previous reviews, he does receive some rather negative feedback, but I just could not relax the whole time after this happened and cut my visit short. Another thing that we didn't like was my friend being disturbed mid-bight off her cake for her 'track and trace' details. This should have either been done at the beginning or after she'd finished, we were the only ones in there so there was no rush and our table was right in front of the till, so just let us our enjoy our cake please without feeling rushed to swallow standing over us with your clipboard! The man trying to move furniture was also another little niggle, but I could've let that one go on its own.

While we are dealing with Covid I am reluctant to sit inside cafés etc. while eating so aim for places with outside seating areas such as Forks. The seating is out in the garden centre or a small sheltered area next to the cafe building. Today I called in with a friend while cycling in the area and we both werr tempted by the crab sandwiches on offer. They were a good choice and absolutely spot on and reasonably priced too. I have read some negative comments about friendliness and the dogs, neither of which were reflected by our experience today. The staff were helpful, friendly and welcoming and the dogs were calm and not a nuisance at all. (The small black dog does have a collar to say that it is nervous) Obviously not everyone is a dog lover and I guess if you're not, you may prefer to go elsewhere - but for us today, it was a pleasant place to stop for lunch on a lovely day out. (The plants look to be excellent too!)

This is the 2nd time I have had breakfast here in the last month and i will keep coming back. The food is very well priced for huge portions and tastes amazing. The posh Milkshake I had was probably one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. The outdoor seating is a another big reason I keep coming back. You're seated amounst the plants ans statues in the garden centre ans it's fantastic being able to smell the lavender whilst you eat. There is also a small cafe dog who wanders around outside very friendly and just boosts the overall experience.

Was greeted by a small barking dog, he took me by surprise but was very friendly, I can imagine that this would put some people off as he roamed freely around the cafe. The staff were very accommodating but service was painfully slow. The coffees were lovely and as expected. Ordered 2 tea cakes which took about 20 minutes to arrive, when they came they were cold, hard and burnt with the smallest portion of butter I had ever seen. The staff did bring more butter when asked. My friend didn’t eat half of hers as the upper side was black (it had been toasted back and front). The man that served us was lovely and offered a replacement but we didn’t want that so had a complimentary drink instead. My husband had an egg & bacon sandwich which looked amazing and he said it was delicious. On arrival we ordered 2 Cornish pasties and were told they would be 25 minutes, which we were happy with. Unfortunately it was 55 minutes before they arrived, they were nice but the wait was so long. Such a shame as staff nice and adjacent garden centre/reclamation yard had some interesting stuff. Probably wouldn’t rush back purely due to service issues.

Called in on Sunday morning. Place was very busy; so busy that we had to play musical tables as there wasn’t room to sit without blocking other customers. Staff were absolutely lovely but we did have to wait 45 minutes from ordering. When it came, the breakfast was very good. Excellent quality all round. One negative note is that the owners’ dog greets all customers with full on barking as they enter. I saw one lady customer jump out of her skin when she came in. The dog then proceeds to roam around begging for food at customers’ tables. Relentlessly. We are dog owners and lovers but we just found this so odd to be allowed in an eatery where it is bound to be viewed as a no-no by some customers. We loved the food but what with the very long wait and the pesky mutt, we probably won’t return. Which is a bit of a shame as it could easily be spot on with the removal of a table and the dog kept more under control.

Good morning I feel compelled to leave this review after the absolutely appalling experience I’ve just had in your cafe, firstly I’d just like to say the latte, cheese scone, cake and hot chocolate were delicious however when you hear management speaking to staff in an absolutely rude and inappropriate way in a voice loud enough for us to hear in the seating area it somewhat spoils the enjoyment....... the staff were nothing short of polite, accommodating and welcoming unlike the lady shouting who I’ve just come to realise is the OWNER! Secondly and more alarming is the little black dog that is roaming free around the premises and in the cafe itself, it spent most of our time begging at our table and then on leaving myself and my two children (3&5) walked past the dog who then proceeded to bite my daughters hand...... completely unprovoked...... I’m disgusted and she is sobbing.......this I might add is the second time this dog has snapped at my children and is constantly roaming around the entire site freely barking at people as they enter. We are a family of dog lovers and own two dogs ourselves and if any of my dogs were as unfriendly as this I’d certainly have it muzzled in public..... your business is not your home and I think you’ll find you are liable for any damage you dog causes visitors. I can’t say we will return which is sad as we live supporting local businesses and only live up the road but I’m throughly shocked at our experience today.

Dropped in for a late breakfast on a cold and dreary day. Warm welcome from the two behind the counter. I ordered double espresso with hot milk on the side, black pudding and scrambled eggs, (pudding fried hard, eggs cooked soft) with a side of whole meal toast. All came in good time, freshly prepared and attractively served. Delicious and cooked exactly as requested. This place may not be on your radar for local eateries but maybe it should be. Happy to recommend. Well done!

Visited with my 11 yr old son. I ordered the regular breakfast Jack had LARGE!! absolutely delicious fresh lovely bread for toast, proper butter and the cappuccinos were very nice and a generous size. All the staff were so warm, welcoming and friendly. A little gem in Norfolk you must try it. I loved the rustic quirky decor with an old opticians box, a traffic light and a piano.

My mother and I arrived for lunch on Saturday. Firstly we were shown to a dirty table, rings from cups and salt or possibly sugar. As my mother has a walker and had taken her coat off and sat down I didn’t ask to be moved but cleaned the table myself with antibacterial wipes I always carry. We ordered drinks and food which you have to pay for upfront so no opportunity to refuse to pay. The drinks arrived, one of which was a bottle of water but no glass. I asked for a glass which the waiter came back with. The glass was dirty. I waited until the food arrived and asked for a clean glass. No apology was given for bringing me a dirty one. My mother had loaded fries at £11. Well I could see the crispy onions, crispy because they were those dried ones you buy in tubs in the supermarket, but no sign of any cheese. I started to eat my bacon, Brie and red onion chutney panini. Well I had bacon. I looked inside for the Brie. There was a sort of stain which was obviously the Brie. I’ve never managed to cut a slice of Brie that thin myself, I suspect they could see through it when they lifted it up. As for the chutney, I found a few soggy bits of tasteless brown stuff. I noticed my mother poking her chips about and asked her what she was doing, she said ‘looking for the cheese’. I asked if she’d found any and she said ‘not really’. She pushed the bowl away and said her legs were cold. We had been sat in front of the entrance and the draft was awful. I asked her if she wanted to go and she was out of her chair faster than I’ve seen someone of 88 move in a long time. All in all a most unpleasant lunch. £11 for a bowl of chips and dried onion, and £10.50 for a bacon roll. Very poor indeed.
