We our annual family Christmas get-together last Saturday and had an amazing time. There were 10 adults and 3 children (not including the 2 babies) and we had a lovely space to ourselves, which was just as well as the children weren't exactly quiet! We were able to move the tables around to suit ourselves and the food was absolutely delicious. We were especially impressed with the roast potatoes, the Christmas pudding and the profiteroles. We had plenty of vegetables and the 3 coeliacs in the group were well catered for.

Found this gem of a pub on our recent travels, situated in a little village the hosts are warm and welcoming. On the Friday night we had the landlords curry, and excellent sized portion with chips and we returned for the next two nights, finishing off with a home cooked Sunday lunch before we left. The turkey and beef were exception served with roasts, mash, carrots cauliflower cheese and a Yorkie, nothing processed her. We didn’t have room for a pudding! Will most definitely return if we are down this way. Incidentally if you have a motor home there is a safe and secure car park to park up for the night. Ideal for the pub and a good home cooked meal

We were looking forward to our third time of eating here , as we enjoyed two previously meals. The service was really lovely because of one member of staff who couldn't have done enough for us. Unfortunately today was a completely different experience. The staff were not attentive, when the food arrived one of the meals was wrong and when I said this the server said she would change it, but I said no as it would take far too long and my wife's meal would be cold . On a positive note my wife's meal was lovely. I asked if I could have a discount as the server had entered the wrong meal but she said there wasn't any thing she could do about it!! And just smirked at me.. Such a shame that the staff have today have spoilt our experience at this lovely hotel. Would we come again !! not sure.

The bar taps displayed 5 types of drink, but they only offered 2 of them and other "Flavors" in bottles.... They don't sell Peroni - but Carlsberg, They don't sell Aspalls - but offer magners in bottles. Our food, 3 burgers were fine, Scampi was burnt processed and cold, pease were like bullets, steaks so called sirloin, not cooked as ordered, stringy and tough! Vegi Lasagne was the worst my daughter has ever had.... The garlic bread served with it was small - tough - heavy and smelt and tasted of rosemarie. I refused to have dessert, there were house flies flying around the ceiling in tens, and fruit flies in the bar, and restaurant by the hundred, in beer, in food, the bar was sticky and so was the floor... the toilet stunk....

As I had worked myself in a village pub in the 70's I asked Graham if he felt that he had been accepted well and was becoming the Hub of the village, He thought he had. This was shown to be correct when later he got a phone call from a local resident who ha broken down in the car park of the local Tesco store... we heard him say no worry give me 10 minuets and will ring you back..Afew words with some of the other customers he had in the 10 mins arranged a lift back home And a tow back if needed for the car .Great landlord . Used to go to the Crown regularly for a drink and food. Sadly under the new managers the food is mediocre at best and the drinks over-priced. To cap it all they have decided that live music is a good idea. This is a village pub in rural Norfolk. We stayed only a very short walk from here and thought how nice it was to have a pub/restaurant so close by. We tried this place on our second evening and it was our one and only visit! The staff were very pleasant and welcoming, the pub was very quiet, a few diners but not as busy as may be it should be. We ordered some drinks and got a menu and sat down to peruse. The place is a bit shabby in places in need of some TLC but the people were very nice. The same cannot be said for the food. Myself and my daughter opted for a pasta dish, which was uninteresting to look at and very bland in taste and not overly full in the dish. We also ordered a gammon dish which I was told tasted very nice but it came to the table looking rather sad and sorry for itself and with very little else on the plate that looked appetising. I could constantly hear the microwave pinging and to be honest when the food arrived I could see why. The sauce tasted like it came from a jar. I ordered a mushroom pasta and my daughter a ham one. Unfortunately there were few mushrooms in my pasta but there were pieces of ham which had snuck in, probably from my daughters dish! I didn't mind too much as I am not vegetarian but I imagine it would be rather bad if someone was. If you order a dish without meat you should expect to receive a dish without meat! We did not return and I would only recommend this place if you are really hungry and there is nowhere else left to go, but don't expect too much.

My elderly parents live in Colkirk so both myself and my sister are frequent visitors to the village. In the past, we have often eaten at The Crown as it is the only pub within walking distance, so we were very disappointed when it seemed to be closed down last autumn. However, I am delighted to say that the new owners have been extremely helpful. I do not have a car when I visit and my parents are now unable to walk, so we have been getting wonderful takeaway fish and chips when I arrive on a Friday evening. Yesterday, my sister was visiting as well with transport, so we decided to 'take a chance' on lunch at the Crown. We are so glad we did - it was brilliant. The food was delicious and we were made to feel very welcome. So much so, in fact, that my sister took my parents there again the next day and they were not disappointed. We are thrilled that the Crown has reopened with such lovely people and such a talented chef - keep up the good work, and thank you!

Visited the pub a couple of months ago and to be honest the food was stodgy and disappointing.

Spontaneous decision to eat out, didn't book but we were welcomed in, table found and settled. Unrushed service, delicious food.. the garlic mushroom starter was fantastic, the brisket melted in the mouth ... and the cheese board!!!.... great portions... First class.... no complaints from us. We will be back ❤️

My mother and I arrived for lunch on Saturday. Firstly we were shown to a dirty table, rings from cups and salt or possibly sugar. As my mother has a walker and had taken her coat off and sat down I didn’t ask to be moved but cleaned the table myself with antibacterial wipes I always carry. We ordered drinks and food which you have to pay for upfront so no opportunity to refuse to pay. The drinks arrived, one of which was a bottle of water but no glass. I asked for a glass which the waiter came back with. The glass was dirty. I waited until the food arrived and asked for a clean glass. No apology was given for bringing me a dirty one. My mother had loaded fries at £11. Well I could see the crispy onions, crispy because they were those dried ones you buy in tubs in the supermarket, but no sign of any cheese. I started to eat my bacon, Brie and red onion chutney panini. Well I had bacon. I looked inside for the Brie. There was a sort of stain which was obviously the Brie. I’ve never managed to cut a slice of Brie that thin myself, I suspect they could see through it when they lifted it up. As for the chutney, I found a few soggy bits of tasteless brown stuff. I noticed my mother poking her chips about and asked her what she was doing, she said ‘looking for the cheese’. I asked if she’d found any and she said ‘not really’. She pushed the bowl away and said her legs were cold. We had been sat in front of the entrance and the draft was awful. I asked her if she wanted to go and she was out of her chair faster than I’ve seen someone of 88 move in a long time. All in all a most unpleasant lunch. £11 for a bowl of chips and dried onion, and £10.50 for a bacon roll. Very poor indeed.

First and foremost the staff in the whole garden centre including the cafe were charming and helpful. The food we had was good. The service was good. Two gripes - there was no fresh fuit offering on the menu - just a pear, apple or banana would be have been good - or berries and yogurt? The other gripe was a dog in the dog friendly area (fairly close to us) incessantly barking. I do not agree with dogs in restaurants. How have we managed in the past? I have two much loved dogs but I do not feel the need to drag them everywhere with me. Perhaps an outdoor area under cover would suit everyone?

It was totally packed out to mark Remembrance Sunday. I had quite a wait for around 15 minutes, but the staff was really pushing out orders and getting the queue down. Quite a few empty places to sit in and staff clearing as customers left. Good team work 👏
