I’m not sure whether this is normal for Costa to do this but it’s never happened at any other one I’ve been to. I went in at 5 with full understanding that they were closing soon. Only to go up and order, the young man serving said they had already put all the machines onto wash so I wasn’t able to get any food nor any drink apart from bottled which shocked me as there was still an hour to go. I ended up going to Starbucks next door, where I got served my coffee about 15minutes before they closed at 5:30. So good on Starbucks.

Friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere

My husband and I were in Costa this morning and the young man serving, called Matty was on his own due to staff members not being able to get to work on time. He had been on his own since opening and was coping amazingly as the store was really busy with customers. He was very professional, courteous and handling the situation so well...He is a huge asset to the Dereham store and deserves huge recognition for coping under huge pressure by himself. Well done Matty you are a star.🌟

New location is much brighter and modern, service was bit slow but only one team member on at time.

Was in Dereham visiting family. The lady that served us was really friendly, such a pleasant change from the rudeness in East London. Will certainly be back.

Costa coffee is much better now. I actually enjoyed my espresso. Actually 3 espressos as I went on three seperate occasions. Christmas time so cheerful staff. Pleasantly surprised.

Disappointingly this is supposed to be a Latte. It has no foam, and just tastes like a milk and coffee at below the standard expected of Costa. Please train your staff how to make the drinks we pay for. Thank you.

Amazing service! Always come here in my free time and have become regulars with my friend. Theresa is a great barista and we always feel welcome whenever we come in. Definitely worth a try 💗

Good set up with plenty of space to maneuver if you have shopping bags or kids to deal with. Usual selection of Costa drinks and light bites.

Got here at 14.40 and they were already telling people they were close to closing......even though they don't close till 4pm, not a great atmosphere.

The Costa was quiet. I wasn’t acknowledged when I was at the counter the maestro was gruff and I would say rude. Had to ask for a serviette. Just as well as I had got a serviette as I had to wipe the table. Sad to say this will be my last visit at Dereham

Went mid-afternoon, just for a drink. Hardly any customers, staff certainly not busy, but tables sticky and grubby, with dirty cups, waiting to be collected. Virtually all the chairs had crumbs and food stains. The whole place looked tired and grubby and in need of refurbishment. Really wish we hadn't bothered. Not a pleasant experience.

Disgusted at this branch of Costa. Staff who work here look very unkempt.

Had lovely service from Theressa who took time to explain to us the benefits of Costa over rival coffee shops even making two tiny expresso coffees Costa way and Starbucks way in a blind taste test. Something she didn't have to do but I feel truly educated and well served by a passionate employee. Big thumb up Costa !

Many of the customers inside seemed to know each other - talking across the different tables - so quite noisy. Service prompt, polite and accurate.

Went in With My Son On My 60th Birthday as we were visiting My Birthplace . Asked if upstairs was open/ closed Nearly had My Head Bitten off by the Older Lady who did not want to be there Or anywhere for that Matter . She then complained couldn’t hear Me on My Ordering Which is a First as I am Loud believe Me . When drinks were done With My Sons Vanilla Latte lacking vanilla I had to ask the friendly Staff Member with blond hair to clean table which he duly obliged with out fuss. During our time in their a Mum came in with her Son crossing his legs politely asking to use toilet which was engaged She asked can we use upstairs Reply was is He Desperate. Shocking Fell sorry for The locals putting up with Her on a regular Basis .

Giving 3 stars because the big guy who serves there is always funny and friendly. However, I sat at the back of the cafe near the toilets and staff room and the door was open and the staff room looked very grubby. There was a dishwasher that was filthy and the floor was dirty. The whole place should be spotless. The coffee was OK though. another thing I don’t like is every time I go there a parent seems to put their child on the sofa by the window where they sprawl out taking up 2 or 3 spaces.

Had a delivery and my hot chocolate was spilled. They handled it quickly and left a nice note on the bag saying sorry- merry christmas. Amazing staff

Ordered from Dereham Costa today. One item missing, phoned store and they kindly delivered it to us in a few minutes. Excellent service and polite staff

The blender was broken, so I couldn't get my frostino. The man done a good job at comprising though, and I had a strawberry lemonade. It was very good. The cashier was very friendly, and said happy birthday!

What a nice Costa. As well as the good coffee, which you can take for granted at this chain. This store was spacious with a lovely area upstairs where I could blog and catch-up with emails in relitive quiet.

Waited a long while to be served,very loud member of staff behind counter,another was more concerned about a stapler than cleaning etc, finally served sat in as very hot out side, members of staff un kempt, what put me off was a member of the staff came out of private area tucking herself in,not nice to see the midrift on show and being covered on exit from a staff area. A long wait, dishevelled staff, but clean and spacious toilet.

Place very untidy and dirty,trays with used cups and mugs left on tables,most costs would not let you sit down at a table until cleared and sanitised now this doesn't happen here when they do take cups back to washroom tables not sanitised.E-Mailed Costa head office 8 Sept no reply? Drinks here more expensive 36p more a drink definitely not for service or cleanliness.Most of staff who could make decent drinks left with rachel

My friend and I visited whilst camping locally and whilst the drink was perfectly nice, the lady who served us was incredibly aggressive and rude, ive never in my life been treated in that way in any shop and was quite astounded, had I not been so shocked I'd have walked out again, will be making a complaint.

Went in today waited a crazy amount of time but that was not so much the issue. The problem was a controlling invasive rude member of staff. I stood waiting then another family came in the woman wouldn't social distance in the que, each time I moved forward she came closer again so OMAR got right into my face telling me to stand exactly when he placed my and my family to the cm he required. I asked him to stop as anxious so he started shouting back hanging around to keep having a pop at me all this happened while the other families husband stood their WITHOUT A FACE COVERING!!!!!

Love the staff here - always willing to have a chat and laugh and are really friendly. Could do with a deep clean from time to time and a little bit of a spruce up in the upstairs lounge area + toilets.

As far as chains go this is a good one. Coffee is pretty decent and the baristas are friendly.

Absolutely disgusted at how a member of staff was spoken to today. She was left visibly shaken and on the verge of tears. To then hear her being spoken about in a disparinging manner was unbelievable!!! I sincerely hope the member of staff feels ashamed of his behaviour. I don't expect to witness this over my daily brew!!!!!

Sunny weather on a weekend brings everyone out. The place was heaving and the staff had a trainee on her first day. Still the service was cheerful, professional and welcoming. The place is clean, well run and managed. Truly an example of excellence.

We visit a few Costas when we're out and it's surprising how quality varies between outlets. This was a particularly good experience - my coffee was very tasty and my cheese scone was great. Service was friendly and prompt.

Went there for Wi-Fi but it was unavailable upstairs.
