Well worth a visit! Lovely food and dog friendly. The cafe was also warm, comfortable and pleasant to be in, and the service was also great. Couldn’t fault it. Will be back soon.

12 of us precooked and had a warm welcome and a lovkey set table. We had a bit of a wait after ordering but that was OK. Good arrived and was OK, most of us enjoyed our chosen meal, the desserts were delicious, well presented and value for money. We all agreed that we would come again, maybe in the week at lunch time. However Unfortunately there were two dogs in the place barking for most of the time were were there. Please, really, does anyone really want to listen to other peoples animals barking while eating a Sunday in a nice restaurant. ? Animals should not be in a public dining place. If you wish to cater for people and their pets then it really should be in a separate environment.

I looked at the reviews for munch before going to the cafe so I entered with high expectations and was met with an unpleasant atmosphere upon arrival then ordered our food none the less and the bill came to £15 for just one sandwich and wrap and 2 pepsi max the portions where extremely small for the price and the bacon and sausage where as if they had been sat under a heat lamp for several hours definitely would not recommend.

I love this cafe. All food is served piping hot. All food is cooked by a chef and all cakes are homemade. Often it’s so busy you have to wait for a table.

On a mini pub crawl Saturday night. This little micro brewery is situated in a side alley next to the masons Arms. Really nice atmosphere slightly more mature clientele with a juke box. Beer was good. Lovely staff. Will return

Lovely light lunch in Wrangle. Booked late so didn't get best table but still well placed in a safe environment. Enjoyed lovely home made lunches including salad, quiche and sausage pie and smashing cakes. Must have an afternoon tea next time, looked perfect

Superb little place to grab a cuppa and bite, dog friendly with treats. Clean and very reasonable prices. If the Eggy bread is on, get that, really enjoyable. Staff very pleasant. Worth a little bit of an extra walk out of Markeaton.

Unfortunately our 1st visit to The Blacklion was very disappointing after being recommended to us. Very disorganised waited over an hour for our meal to arrive. Both ordered Chicken in Blue cheese and blackpepper sauce. The sauce was so thick it stopped in the jug when trying to pour it out. We did say to a very nice waitress who reported our opinion to the chef. We were told the sauce was made during the afternoon and admitted it was too thick. We felt it should not have been served like this. We paid our bill and left. Will not be returning.

It's no secret how much my fiancee and I love this place. The food is unreal and the staff are warm and welcoming. I've known the owners for years and I always get greeted by the biggest smile each time I go in. They really care about their customers and it shows. Mark has a real passion for high quality, truly tasty, food. The Sunday carvery is a personal favourite of ours as the meat just melts in your mouth. The standard menu is difficult to choose from as I often want to eat most of the options!! There is a reason why these guys win awards, you MUST see (and taste) for yourself.
