Popped in today for delicious tea and cake , It was to say Thankyou to the kind young man and his mum who helped me out with a seat and water yesterday, as I was feeling Steep hill and post Covid symptoms yesterday. Genuine common sense and kindness . As you guys weren’t there please take this as my sincere thanks and a recommendation for fab cakes and teas !

Entre nosotros, venimos aquí todos los días. El equipo es tan bueno, educado, alegre y profesional. La ubicación es genial. ¡Ahora el café! Es fantástico. Super consistente también. Buena gama de bebidas, leches, jarabes, etc. Algo para todos. La ofrenda también es fuerte. ¡Los traseros de tocino son épicos! Galletas, pasteles, brownies, la lista va, todo tan fresco, casero y sabroso!

I loved this place but it seems it has now closed as I've gone by more than once, on different days and times, and is always closed.

Excellent experience. Food was lovely.

Pretty okay, very slow service and great view. But with a view being the only + there, I will maybe skip them.

Disappointed. The place was freezing due to the aircon blasting out, when we asked if we could have the aircon down we was told “sorry but the rest of the shop gets hot” so basically no! But we will redirect it. The cake was dry and served with pointless overly small folk that was useless, coffee was disappointing. Sorry that out experience wasn’t great but it is what it is. Their reply to this HONEST review is surely a reflection of the character, customer service and maturity offered at such an unfortunate coffee/cake shop, in a field of really quality ones. Poor quality, poor service, poor coffee and poor cakes.

Second time visiting and it was still a smash hit. The starters, main and desserts didn't disappoint. Service was great with plenty of focus given to us.

Good music venue with house sound and lights set up. Beers are not what you find in pubs. For some reason they call plastic glasses cups ?. Nice clean toilets.

My daughter and I were staying at the hotel next door and was glad we opted to eat dinner close. This place had very friendly staff and the menu choices were amazing. The food was awesome and the place was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely eat here again when in the area.

Had a take away slice of cake. Not very good, I was really looking forward to it too only to be very disappointed. I hope for people that spend a lot of money here that they have a better experience.

Las bebidas en la zona de comedor al aire libre eran buenas, ya que está cerrado para evitar el tráfico de la calle sin dejar de tener una vista de la catedral. Cuando entramos teníamos una mesa de ventana que se sumaba a la experiencia ya que todavía podíamos ver la catedral. En general, sin embargo, el interior carecía de atmósfera y necesitaba algo de amor y atención. Cuando se trataba de la comida, yo sugeriría comer en otro lugar primero o después, en su lugar. Lo siento, pero en el mejor de los casos fue mediocre. Mi hamburguesa estaba dura, tibia y bastante insípida. Mi marido tenía macarrones con queso. Dijo que sabía bien, pero su cara me dijo lo contrario. Si bien no lo probé, fue bastante corrido.

I was looking forward to our lunch at Stokes with my friend as have always enjoyed our visit usually just having a cup of tea and cake etc downstairs. Today we came for brunch on the second floor. We ordered bacon and egg and egg on toast. Unfortunately they had to change my meal as I had ordered brown toast but was given white. When I received my meal my friend had finished hers. Bit disappointed with the meals as they were both cold. We will still come back for tea and cakes on the ground floor, as always enjoyed our visits. Bit of a shame though.

Totalmente amigable. El nuestro tenía salchichas con abrazos. Deliciosa comida, sopa casera era increíble. Personal cálido y amable. Muy recomendable.
