Good pub slightly off the beaten track but obviously popular. Popped in for drinks on a Saturday evening and was perfectly satisfied with beer, service and ambiance. There was a band on which made it a little bit crushed at the bar but we still got served quickly and efficiently.

The food was great, good old classic pub food, cooked well and at reasonable prices. However, I think we must have arrive on the friendly helpful staffs day off that others have mentioned, because the two girls/woman were both the most miserable unwelcoming pair we’ve come across and the place was virtually empty so shouldnt have been too taxing for them!! Also could generally do with a spruce up. So much so, we ate up and went into the much upmarket White Hart Hotel, with exceptionally friendly helpful staff, for a cocktail each 😁 happy days!

Arranged a private party in the front bar recently to celebrate with friends and family after our dad's funeral. Nic could not have been nicer to deal with, particularly as this was all arranged from overseas with some local assistance from a friend. The buffet menu is varied and offers a number of good looking options. We chose the top level option and were not disappointed. Great food and plenty of it. The price point is also VERY reasonable, particularly given the quality of the food. Nic was very attentive on the day, clearing frequently and condensing the platters as they emptied. The hand pulled beers also offer variety and are well kept. The pub itself, known to us over some years (AND the venue of our wedding reception some 25 years ago!) is very well presented, lovely olde-worlde feel and after the wake, now has a few new converts who said they will go again...and again. Nic (and team) were great, the place very convivial and simply put, an old-fashioned (great) pub in a disappearing world of refurbished bars and student-focused pubs in and around the Bailgate. This pub is a must for any lover of traditional hostelries and the buffet food as good as we have had anywhere. PLEASE go visit and give them your patronage, they deserve it!

The owner couldn’t have been more kind , patient and considerate, as he had to deal with customers, who hadn’t been out in ages; had forgotten everything and who were unable to make a decision regarding choice of table! Any landlords nightmare! A lovely afternoon spend in the sunny courtyard served by extremely friendly and kind staff ; scrupulously clean toilets ; good food and real beer!! What more could a visitor to Lincoln want?

My partner and I decided to try the Adam & Eve for lunch as it was listed as being dog friendly. We got there at 12:30 on a Sunday, we walked in and the place was empty. Not a good first impression, however there were a few more customers that came in while we were there. We had a look at the menu but opted for their burger and a pint offer @ £8.95. The service was polite and very quick. The food was not fancy but tasty, was well presented and the portion size for the price was very good value. The only let down was the fact there was no atmosphere as there were so few customers at the time, it would also benefit from a bit of freshening up.

Eight of us meeting and the noise from the so called quizmaster was oppressive. We could not hear ourselves speak. No end of hints and saying it was too loud did any good. If you want a quiet time with friends steer clear of this hole. Will I be back? No way!

A traditional pub with a sizeable stone fireplace and a lovely coal and log fire which we enjoyed when we had our drinks, although seasoned logs would burn better. The beer garden looked like it would be a great spot in the summer months. Little in the way of vegan options apart from the falafel burger without the bun.

We were looking for a dog friendly pub that was walkable from central Lincoln on a Saturday night. The Adam & Eve is a historic pub (possibly the oldest in Lincoln) that is slightly off the main routes but nonetheless still very easily accessible by foot. We had a meal there, the food is standard pub fare cuisine at competitive prices, all very pleasant. There was no difficulty in having the dogs in the eating area and they were provided with a water bowl. I noted that this pub has quiz nights and live music on Saturday after 9.00 p. m. but we decided to leave by then just in case our friends’ two Scottie dogs decided to join in with the musicians!

We had a spare hour and were hungry. We spotted the pub and went inside. I can honestly say this is the cleanest pub we ever have been in, it smelt wonderful. The food arrived promptly and was tasty and plenty of it. For a brief stop or if you have longer I would recommend this pub. From the outside it is nothing special but never judge a book by its cover. We were made welcome and left refreshed if we ever go back to that part of Lincoln we will defiantly visit again.

A charming old pub. I did not expect much when ordering food as it was really cheap, and this was a pub that was not pretending to be a restaurant. The Adam and Eve is the oldest pub in Lincoln. It is a proper pub with cask ale and English fare, and has been in operation for centuries. It is not frequented by the tourist crowd that populates Steep Hill, so there is a lot of local flavor. I was rather unhappy with the pint I received though, because it was sour from either dirty taps or a contaminated cask.

Clearly some people are incapable of using Trip Advisor and have reviewed this place as an Indian restaurant. It's not. That is another place called Adam & Eve that is in Wragby a few miles away. This is s traditional pub that serves food on Lindum Hill, just behind Lincoln Cathedral. The food is good standard pub grub with pub classics and sandwiches. Good array of beers including interesting craft ale on draft. Car park at back, it's great to pop in for lunch.

We hadn't booked and had no idea how many family members would turn up. There was actually about 19 of us in the end and all decided to eat.
