The Botanist Lincoln Bar & Restaurant in Lincoln

Second time visiting and it was still a smash hit. The starters, main and desserts didn't disappoint. Service was great with plenty of focus given to us.

Visited a couple of weeks ago to try their hanging kebabs and was not disappointed! Between 4 of us, we tried all 3 of the standard kebabs (halloumi, chicken and lamb) and sauces (piri piri, ginger sweet chilli and garlic herb yoghurt) and the chicken schnitzel. All of the food was fantastic and our mocktails were tasty too. We then had what may have been the best cheesecake we've ever tasted! Because of it being busy, we had multiple people serving us overall. They had great teamwork and were all lovely and attentive. I would love to shout out our main server, but I didn't catch her name. If you were working 4th May at 7pm, we appreciate you! Due to the layout and size of the restaurant and the fact it was busy, it was really noisy at first. It did calm down towards the end of our meal, but at first it was tough to talk to anyone across the table. It wasn't an issue for us at all, but it is worth bearing in mind if you are with anyone sensitive to noise. We are going back to try Botanist Bingo next month, and get some more kebab. We cannot wait!

Not my first time at the botanist but my friend and I came for some food and drinks and it was perfect! Our waitress Hannah was so lovely and friendly. The food was delicious and really hit the spot.

Only had a drink but they were perfect service was great also.

This was our families first vist to the Botanist the food was very good. The staff were very friendly and efficient.

Botanist, same menu in each place, you should be able to guarantee the quality yes? Two sirloin steaks, onion rings and fries…… no onion rings they’d run out and no replacement, sirloins totally covered in a herb oil which wasn’t stated on the menu. Couldn’t eat them. Such a shame, as we went hungry and thought we knew what we were getting. Manager took £15 of the bill but left hungry and disappointed. A very poor Botanist.

I have been a few times and cannot fault the food or drinks. Friendly staff and gorgeous decor.

Sólido absoluto 10 hallazgo. Llegó sobre las 11. 30 am, absolutamente muerto, pensó que podría ser un mal lugar, pero le dio una vuelta. Chocolate caliente, coca, kebab de pollo y ensalada de cesar, pollo. Wow gran servicio, buena comida, la esposa comentó que su ensalada estaba a la par con una de las mejores comidas que hemos tenido, un sándwich club en mediera (puede estar mal escrito, lo siento) BTW, fue épico, puede ser un aperitivo realmente, pero fue perfectamente ejecutado, alrededor de £ 30 con propina, solo visitar los baños valió la pena esto, se podía poner una mesa y sillas allí y comer, es así de bueno. Todo funcionó. Realmente impresionado

Went to the botonist for a cocktail. Tom served us, he was brilliant at showing us how the cocktails were made. He showed a lot of passion and enjoyment in how they are made and is a great credit to the business. We specifically enjoyed his tricks and bar flare. Well done Tom you are brill!!

Brilliant evening for a large group of people. Elicia communicated well with us prior to the evening, allowing it to run smoothly as there were over 20 of us. On the evening, Jake was very friendly and organised - a brilliant server! Very happy everything - the food was amazing, the drinks were also an excellent standard. Thank you to everyone front of house and behind the scenes that made it a great experience.

Food is normally great but, occasionally over do food and they won't replace it.

We had lunch/brunch and loved it so much we booked again for a meal with friends next week.

We came here for our anniversary and the service was fantastic. Not sure of our servers name but he was a young lad and was very polite and helpful. We’re not from Lincoln and he provided us with some tips of places to go in the city. The service went the extra mile and I can’t fault it.

Visitamos al botánico mientras estaba en una escapada rápida en Lincoln, la ubicación es genial, había música en vivo en el bar de abajo que debido a nuestra ubicación de la mesa pudimos escuchar a través de nuestra comida, el ambiente era fantástico con una casa más o menos llena, la comida era genial volvería a elegir el sándwich club después de ver los filetes, pero esa es una lección que he aprendido! (no digo que no era bueno, pero malditos filetes se veían increíbles) , además Tiny Rebel on tap hizo la experiencia completa... .

Visited the Botanist with our granddaughter who is studying in Lincoln. Very easy to make reservation on line and on arrival we were shown to our table. Food was nice and reasonably priced but we found the building a bit noisy. We are always happy to tip at the end of a meal but were a little disappointed that a 10% charge was automatically already added to the bill.

Spent a couple of hours here, had a cocktail (expertly made!) amazing. Was kept entertained by Tom, who absolutely made my evening. He is a master at what he does & is a really lovely bloke (even helped my source an Uber home!) I'd recommend this place & look forward to returning one day. Tom, you are an amazing guy, good luck with everything :)

Recently visited with work friends and throughly enjoyed my experience. The food was really good and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would definitely go again!

Highly recommend, the food is amazing, the staff are super friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is cozy. They have a ground floor and 1st floor but there is a lift so still accessible for wheelchairs and prams etc. It is also dog friendly too which is a huge bonus! Definitely coming again

Tom made us lovely drinks, he was very friendly and used his own smoker for the drinks. They tasted amazing. Loved the service.

Had a good quality meal on Valentine's Evening. However, we were seated in the centre isle and let down by the waiter constantly walking past us, to lean over the banister to get items from the 'dumb waiter' behind our table. It happened on more than one occasion and would lift items over my partner's head, instead of walking around, to save time for himself. It was rude to say the least and socially awkward! This has ultimately put us off returning, when your spending a lot of money and getting a waiter constantly reach over you, just because they can't be bothered to walk around. Some basic social manners go a long way. The adding of a service charge for two diners, without asking is also extremely rude, to just expect it to be paid. Understandable to a certain degree, with a large table, but for two is pushing your luck. This should not be put on automatically. Again it's just rude!

The food was delicious, ordered a selection of small plates, the hanging kebab and wine. Atmosphere was great and enjoyed the live music in the downstairs bar after our meal. Despite it being a very busy Saturday staff were so professional and friendly, both the servers and bar staff were working flat out to serve people yet still took time to chat to customers and make recommendations.

Really enjoyed the mixed kebab special its just a shame you can't split and half coconut rice with it in stead of chips

Roisin was absolutely lovely, very helpful and welcoming. She was very fun and sweet. Food was beyond amazing, very fast coming out and service was top notch, staff did amazing!

Tom and the team were really polite and offered great service, my bloody mary was unreal and he is a joy. Thank you Tom!!

Booked a bottomless brunch for two and had one extra normal dining which was great as other places wouldn’t accommodate this

Went for a quick drink and had the pleasure of being served by Tom. He smashed out a fantastic cocktail for my daughter and broke the ice with some card wizardry.....i'm sure Penn and Teller will be looking over their shoulders....in a few years .....(decades) 😉

The restaurant is located in the city center, the theme / vibes of the place is nice with Ivy plants in the roof, good for couple/ families or for work night out. However, the food was very average, the sauce did nor go with the hanging kabab at all. The chicken korean fries were very average. overall the food was not impressive at all.

For the money we paid £75 I can’t say I was overly impressed at all. The staff were friendly and let us move table due to it being cold by the door we couldn’t sit upstairs as it would have been too much for the smallest child so we sat downstairs. I ordered 2 kids meals the kids menu stated humous and cucumber, main and pudding both kids had fish bites. So they didn’t get humous & cucumber or deserts and the fish bites were actually fish fingers. My mum had fish and chips which she said was nice and I had a hanging kebab which was ok nothing really to write home about. Overall a really disappointing experience.

Went for a meal with my gals on Sunday (12th) for a roast. I had roast Beef , normally the beef in other restaurants I have been in before has been either dry or over cooked. But the Botanist cooked it to perfection, the veg , gravy and Yorkshire pudding was delicious. I would also like to add on how helpful Will was when I rang up and also attentive during our dinner, along with his coworker (can’t remember her name but she had pink hair). Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Was here for my mum's 60th birthday, can absolutely recommend them.. from start to finish they took care of our table every step of way double checking everything way running smoothly and everything was fantastic... food was absolutely amazing, staff were brilliant couldn't of asked for better service.... My mum absolutely loved her birthday can't thank you enough for everything

Nine of us visited yesterday to celebrate two birthdays. From arrival to leaving service was perfect. The staff were attentive but discreet. All greeted us with smiles. The food was delicious, and the complimentary cocktails for the birthday girls were most welcome. We'll be back!

Went to the botanist on New Year’s Eve, the bar tender Tom was absolutely lovely. He was working essentially by himself and was so polite and fun. Great drinks and food.

Good food. Service was pleasant including reception staff and bar. Long wait between courses but they were very busy.

Tried the Botanist as I have visited once before . The food was terrible . My wife had to send her burger back as it was undercooked , I’m assuming a lot of people like medium rare burgers but it would have been nice to ask ! The burgers were nothing special and for two and two drinks , one being a soft drink the bill was nothing short of £50 . Don’t rate it and won’t be back

Very Poor service. Booked for 7pm finally got sat down at 7:30pm because they are greedy with tables and they seemed unable to move people on despite having security guards. The place also feels a bit creepy from the overfriendly patrons present at the bar and the main congregation area for the masses of people unable to take their booked table is by the entrance giving an overcrowded atmosphere

Business Christmas meal which turned into a disaster. Had 2 blonde servers that felt like 2 dogs yapping at us for our Christmas table and telling us that our food would take longer than an hour and a half which is what they agreed upon arrival. Waste of money and ruined work party. What is the uniform policy and why do you have a young girl in tight red lycra serving the tables? It’s a restaurant not a night club. Wont return

We called in on chance just for a cocktail for a romantic weekend away, very strange first impressions as you have to fight through 2 heavy curtains to reach access the bar, I assume that it was just a cheap way to keep the heat in but it's just seemed weird. met at the door told them we were just looking for drinks so he said to wait at the bar, we did, and waited some more, and some more, after 10 minutes he said he would chase up a bar staff, we waited another 10 minutes then left, shame as the drinks on the menu looked interesting. okay it was noon on a Wednesday, but if they are open they should have staff

Went for my Birthday , 1st time and it was absolutely excellent, beautiful meal, great surroundings and brilliant service considering how busy it was . The 3 hanging kebabs were amazing.

Out shopping early so missed breakfast, Nipped inyi the Botanist as hubby hasn't been and had a late breakfast Service was good and food is as even better! This place is beautifully decorated, they have a lift so mobility shouldn't be a problem.

El personal era bueno, pero la comida era arfull mi esposa tenía el pollo al curry que dijo que era como una hamburguesa de pollo con salsa que incluso tenía un poco de carne de res en ella yo tenía pescado con patatas fritas el pescado era como comer papilla era como si fuera carne reformada no había copos en ella era como un gran dedo de pescado barato es la segunda vez que hemos estado allí ambas veces fueron muy decepcionantes la música era tan cargada que no pudimos hablar sobre la mesa no va a volver a gelt pobremente después de la comida en camino a casa

Had one of the best old fashioned cocktails I have ever had in here. The barman Tom, was fantastic! I mentioned to him that I liked the traditional old fashioned, he then gave me tips on how to make it at home, a very nice touch! He rasped if I would like to try the smoked old fashioned which he could make.. It was fantastic! Highly recommend.

For halloween Dan and Tom went above and beyond .....both costumes were brilliant .....Customer service was excellent 👌

Reservamos una mesa para 6 : 15 - Teníamos entradas de teatro reservadas para un espectáculo de las 8 pm. Soy celiaca y me dieron un menú separado sin gluten. Buen comienzo. Hemos comido en el Botánico de Leeds y York antes, así que sabemos que las opciones sin gluten eran buenas. Mostrado a nuestra mesa. Me dijeron que escaneara el código QR en el menú GF para dar detalles adicionales. Al hacerlo, el menú que tenía que elegir se limitaba a cuatro elementos. Cuestioné esto y me preguntaron ¿qué tan grave es mi alergia? La razón por la que la mayoría de los artículos se eliminan es la contaminación cruzada en una freidora de aire mixto. La enfermedad celíaca no es una alergia. Aprecio el “gluten puede ser transportado por el aire”, etc., pero no tener una freidora separada, etc. no tiene ningún sentido lógico. El menú sin gluten no está libre de gluten. Terminé pidiendo un kebab colgante. Sin las papas fritas, por supuesto. Cuando llegaron nuestras bebidas, había pedido un vino blanco grande. Cuando llegó estaba claro que era el tamaño equivocado, le pregunté si podía tener el grande que pedí por favor. Me quitaron el vino y 10 minutos después recibí una copa grande. La factura tardó una edad en llegar, terminé teniendo que encontrar a alguien que me la pidiera de nuevo. Pasé apresuradamente mi tarjeta, que ascendía a 61 libras. 33 incluyendo un £ 5. 50 cargo por servicio opcional - que pagué. Al salir - escaneé el recibo y me di cuenta de que me habían cobrado por x 2 copas pequeñas de vino por un total de £ 15. 50 ? ? ? Encontré a alguien y le expliqué. Se disculparon y se fueron. Eran ahora las 7: 45 y estábamos ansiosos de llegar tarde al show. El servidor regresó con £ 7. 70 en efectivo y dijo perdón por el error aquí hay algo de efectivo, estábamos luchando para averiguar cómo reembolsar en su tarjeta. ¡Pero solo te cobramos por la pequeña copa de vino! I walked in and asked for a table for 2 and was told that there was a 20 minute wait. Went to the bar for a drink while I waited and there were no staff available so I looked on line and booked a table there and then. Once in the restaurant the service was excellent. A yound lady called Ellen or Ellie served us and she was polite, funny and very attentive. I ordered a combination of kebabs and the food was lovely, really tasty and a decent price. The service was fantastic and it was a lovely meal.

I recently visited The Botanist in Lincoln, and it was an absolute treat! The vibe was amazing—cozy yet lively, with a unique botanical decor that set the perfect atmosphere for a great night out. I ordered the Korean chicken, and it was next-level delicious. The crispy, flavorful chicken with just the right amount of spice hit the spot. I also couldn’t resist the garlic bread, which was perfectly toasted and oozing with garlicky goodness. And yes, I definitely had more than my share of drinks🥂 their cocktail menu is creative and packed with refreshing options. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was spot on. Overall, it was an awesome evening, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and vibes in Lincoln.

Visited today. Waitress was lovely and service was good but whilst everyone enjoyed their meals my hubby and I had the misfortune to experience the Sunday roast. Chicken was dry, and the whole meal was totally underwhelming. Will not be having again.

I ordered Lamb Kofta hanging kebab. £17.50 for approx 5 small rolled balls of lamb mince, which is cheap to buy, not proper lamb meat. Came with a tiny handful of fries. No salad or coleslaw on the side, nothing?? Very disappointed 😞 Then my drink, I ordered a double gin and slim tonic....£13.45!!!! 😱 I mean??? I won't be returning in a hurry 🤷‍♀️

Fantastic old fashioned worthy of an award... a true mixologist.

Such a welcoming place, great staff and a warm atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and stylish, the staff friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. The kebabs are to die for, tender, moist chicken with a drizzling of garlic oil, lovely . As a footnote, the toilets were impressive as well

I visited with friends a few weeks ago on a weeknight and we had a great time. Lovely atmosphere, very chill and the staff were attentive and friendly (we were basically the only ones in the restaurant though, bear that in mind)! The food was mixed, I had the Asian noodle salad with chicken and my friends had an assortment of sides and a kebab. At first the salad was pretty good, but once the chicken ran out I was left with this very citrusy mess of cabbage and thin noodles which wasn't the most enjoyable to eat. I wish I could give 3.5 stars since even though the food was meh, everything else was good.

Nice venue, service was polite. Food was reasonable, but expensive, I thought for what it was. Perhaps I'm out of touch on city eating.

I took my team here for our quarterly meal. Never been before. One of my team was late and they held the table for us, which was appreciated. When the staff were paying attention, they were great. Sadly that wasn't too often. At the bar, 3 staff were gathered in the back around the glass washer machine paying no attention to the bar. Later 2 attractive young ladies were served immediately by the young male bar man. He then spent 10 minutes flirting before he came to take my order. This lack of attention spilled over into the dining room. I don't know if the waiting staff are lazy or shy, but no one ever looks up or around at the room to see if anyone needs anything. Our waitress was lovely, bubbly and at least got our order right. Sadly that was the best of a bad job. I had calamari to start and a sirloin steak, ordered medium rare. The calamari were like bullets and the steak was medium well. I didn't complain, purely because I didn't want my team to have to wait while they re-cooked my food. I paid nearly 400 quid for this experience. It's not the most expensive place in the world, but it's certainly not cheap. I could have forgiven the overcooked food if the service was better. Sadly it was pretty poor and half the tables were empty. I can see why now. Like a lot of places these days, it's just lacking leadership and training. If I get any sort of response to this post from the management, I may give it another go, because I liked the decor and the live music. We'll see.

Went for an early birthday lunch with a close friend. The food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and kind (Will in particular). All wished me a happy birthday and I was very surprised by a complimentary cocktail. We ended up sitting and talking for 3 hours, we weren't once rushed or made to feel we were imposing.

The food exceeded my expectation and the staff were amazing. In particular Pip and Will, they were extremely attentive and Will gave us a good laugh. 100% recommend.

We had a shared starter which was lovely, hanging kebab was not very big, but we enjoyed what we had, adding a service charge to a table of 2 not acceptable, we always tip if the service deserves it we should be forced to tip !

Wow - used to love going to the botanist - has always been my goto.. Having been yesterday - clearly a hipster place and wannabe london bar.. Having spoken to three people at the bar whilst waiting for drinks we all agreed the same, slow, overpriced (such . Shame) sat and watched as people cleared their own tables, familiy sat at a table with the drinks still left in situ from previous two sets of parties.. Staff are lovely -as someone said to me there - have a queue for beer, wine and soft drinks Another for cocktaiks.. Will be back but folks - it isnt difficult for a start get more wine glasses - as the staff said starting the day with 20 wine glasses is not great.

Went really late on a Tuesday night. Staff very pleasant and friendly. Cocktails were ok.
