The chicken burgers were amazing!! We had the crispy and grilled one. Our waitress Keira was lovely and took care of our every need. The service was quick and we would definitely recommend this restaurant. All of the staff were smiley and nice!!

Lovely experience. Sat by the window, which was a lovely view of the busy city. The food was delicious! Chicken Katsu kebab and the pork belly kebab. there was so much food! The service was brilliant and the interior is so pretty. The only reason we’ve given 4 stars is because it’s pretty pricey and it would be a reason for us to not go back as often but overall a really fab lunch.

Came here for drinks with friends, couldn’t recommend this place enough such good food and the service was impeccable, big thanks to you all

Very friendly service and good food

We went on Sunday, lots of staff, not many customers. We were sat upstairs, ordered drinks and then food. The drinks came and were finished but still no food had arrived. When we asked where it was, we were told the order had been lost and no food was on its way. Not one member of serving staff had noticed we hadn't been given our meal despite walking past us several times. When we said we would be leaving they had the cheek to say that they would get us the bill for the drinks, however common sense prevailed and we got our drinks for free. We went to Turtle Bay which is just opposite instead and the food and service was brilliant. Go there instead.

I only putting it on here because the management might take notice! Stopped for a drink while out shopping, the bar is OK but the draught coming from the front door is shocking! Put a heater above the door or put sliding doors in, the thick curtains don't do it!

I've been to the botanist numerous times before and never had a bad experience until now. I felt that after being there for half an hour the waitress couldn't wait to get rid of us, coming to the table several times to see if we needed anymore drinks, a desert etc until 15 mins b4 we were due to leave (which we were clearly aware of as it states when you book) the waitress felt the need to come to the table and remind us that we had 15 mins left and that we could take our drinks downstairs!!!! Never have I felt so harassed when out for a meal and I WILL NOT BE GOING ON A SATURDAY NIGHT AGAIN!

I would definitely recommend going with family or friends. The kebab skewers were amazing. The chips were some of the best I have ever had and the coleslaw was amazing

A nice enough experience and the food was good. It's a classic chain of restaurants, but there is some nice attention to detail and the seating area was great. If the owner/general manager is reading this, Will is a credit to the restaurant. He is a great member of staff.

Really good cocktails - a little pricy, but such a beautiful bar that it is worth it! Liked that they served their drinks in different vessels - can’t call them glasses as one was in a plant pot and the others came in what looked like medicine bottles. Surprised to find out this is a chain, definitely felt like an independent. We didn’t eat, but saw some hanging kebabs which looked amazing.

Food was great albeit a bit pricey but it was way too loud to have a conversation which unfortunately spoilt the meal for us.

Out for a lunchtime celebration. This was my first visit. We decided to have the hanging kebabs one garlic oil and the other without the garlic oil exchange for sweet chili... We upgraded to the chilli fries on one and the chunky fries on the other ordered the mini season salad, onion petals and coleslaw. My daughter found all of it very nice. She did leave a bit of the hanging kebab. For me the hanging kebab was very peppered and I'm not sure what else was on it. One of my onion pieces should not have been on the kebab it was the skin edge but it happens so not the end of the world. (It was more skin than onion). But overall the kebab was alright. Only get the chunky fries if you're feeling hungry, otherwise stick to the chips/ fries. The Caesar salad is so heavily garlic and seasoned, grilled lettuce has a nice taste one of the nicest parts of the meal. Coleslaw was different but enjoyable, Have to say it seems to have a lot of mustard seeding again, seemed overly seasoned. Onion petals definitely recommend it's an upgraded alternative to onion rings they are in a Salty maybe chilli seasoning comes with creme fresh but really nice. Our server if I remember correctly with Charlotte. She was lovely. Offered recommendations, drinks served quickly. If you don't like too much ice do say cos they come very iced but I don't mind that there's personal preference. Overall I would go back. I would pick an alternative meal, I would try the kebab again as they'll have different chefs which are different seasoning levels to the food. Tried again..... Staff that were our waiter's , were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. Sadly again the food wasn't something I would shout about. Chicken burger had a small bone, which cut my daughter's gum... This wasn't the restaurant fault was a supply issue as guess these aren't made fresh on site. Hanging kebab, small bits of chicken sadly was dry. Burger was nice. Katsu curry was poor and not value for money, rice tastes like it's pre-made and then microwaved, I was gutted about the onion petals with no flavour, just salt ... Coffee was cold and the table drank it black so no excuse. They did give us a fresh one but still no better . Coleslaw 💯 times better then before. No updated pictures but the kebab doesn't look like that now 😔... Lest hope it was a bad day... But again our waiters were lovely and that is what I felt I paid for on this visit.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, based on the hype/website, but I came away feeling desperately underwhelmed. The long story short (to save you time...), is that it's a classic postmodern 'dining experience' in a city-centre. This means it's a bog-standard franchise, pretending to be something it's not, seeking to squeeze you for the greatest amount of money, for the least possible product. We dropped nearly £9.00 each on cocktails, and mine tasted like a tonic water with a dash of lemon. I complained, and our server promised to 'pass this feedback on...' Look. I absolutely know that nobody cares about my experience, and that I should be expecting to drop a lot of cash (nearly 60 quid for lunch!!), for the minimal amount of product. Therefore, this is my cathartic Rage Against the Machine of 'corporate-dining', and my first and last visit to 'virtual-restaurants' of this ilk, that look like AI designed something on the remit: make the humans feel as if it's all authentic, but keep the costs and ambiance DOWN, and the profits UP. Okay. That's my existential angst expunged, and I feel 1.45% better. Result...

Our second visit to the botanist, the staff are excellent and couldn’t help enough. Great atmosphere and the service was too. Sat next to the window and was a lovely spot. My only issue which may sound trivial was the piri-piri hanging kebab, at that price you would expect chicken breast and not thighs. As a fussy eater with chicken I can’t tolerate thighs, however the parts I did eat tasted great. Sadly that just tells me profit over quality.

We visited this restaurant for lunch earlier on today. Greeted by a lovely lady on the door who took us to our table 😄 The restaurant is clean and very spacious. The service was attentive. All staff that we encountered were friendly and welcoming.

Huge, spacious building with nice decor and great ambiance. Waiter introduced himself and was very pleasant but then the service was very average. Waited too long for menus. Waited too long to give order. Waited too long for the bill, despite asking. Waited too long to pay. No one came to check we were happy with our food or offer more drinks. Ironically the wait for food was very reasonable, and the prawn and Halloumi hanging skewers were both delicious! The music is LOUD, very loud so not ideal if you struggle with hearing. Great food but they need to train staff. If he hadn’t been pleasantly innattentive I would have taken off the service charge!

Had a lovely meal last night on a pre theatre visit. We had booked our table in advance, early on a Tuesday teatime so we could be at the theatre for 6.30pm The food was lovely (Fish & Chips & Katsu Chicken, Choc Sundae & Affogato) with a nice bottle of wine- two mains,desserts and the wine cost £80.34 for the two of us What let it down was the welcome and seating - the dark haired lady who greeted us and took us to our table wanted to seat us at a small table for two at the back against the wall with no view of Lincoln Bearing in mind how early it was and how empty the restaurant was and the fact we had booked - it never fails to amaze me why they do this - I get it on a busy night you need to maximise the occupancy and your tables but why on a Tuesday tea time when it’s empty We asked if we could sit in one of the window tables (only one table occupied by a table of 2) and was told ‘No- they are for bigger tables’ so we then asked if we could at least sit in the raised area in the centre which we did. The next two couples she tried to seat at the same table at the back asked each time if they could have a better table Such a shame- please think about your customers and use common sense when seating in quiet periods We were only an hour for our visit and there were empty tables in the window the entire time - as indeed the area she wanted to seat us in also remained empty throughout Shame all the hard work by the chefs and waitresses can be tarnished by thoughtless seating

We were six adults and two children and visited on a Friday evening at 7 p.m. There is a lovely atmosphere and the servers were great too, if a little overworked. Overall we had a very nice time but there were some issues, I didn’t raise them at the time as I didn’t want to interrupt our birthday celebrations. We all ordered starters and they started to arrive at different times. Then, before the starters were all delivered we were asked if we wouldn’t mind if our main courses could be delivered at the same time as they were ready! I’ve never heard of this practice before and it’s ridiculous that the mains should be delivered both before starters had reached the table and/or to be piled up canteen style! We felt as if we were being needlessly rushed. I also have an issue with the cocktails. They are all around £10 each, to have a glass full of ice, a single shot (or less) of alcohol, topped up with a fruit juice etc, seems a little steep for me. Our total bill came to just under £300, I have no issue with the cost at all, but for that amount of money would have expected slightly more sophistication with the restaurant.

When we arrived there was no member of staff in the bar. I was eventually advised that a member of staff would be sent. They never arrived. Also the place had not been cleaned properly

Dined here with 3 of my girls, the food was exceptional!! We had the hot board to share for starters, if you like tapas this is amazing as it acts as ‘picky’ bits. We all had one of the famous hanging kebabs, and after trying all of them I have to say the pork belly was my favourite. The cocktails tasted delicious, if I had it my way I would have had at least 15. The front of house staff were incredible, they were so attentive and met every need that we could have. Would 10/10 recommend to any age group to dine here!!

I absolutely love the food there, which is why I came on my birthday. I told my friend all about the hanging kebabs, so was really disappointed when my vegan meatballs came out laying on a plate (they aren’t usually like this). The texture seemed different as well. Also I asked for no ice in my drink but got ice and struggled to drink it. This is usually my favourite restaurant so a little disappointed

Fab meal at the Botonist for my sons birthday on New Year’s Eve. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff & tasty food

Parents love it here never been myself yet but came in to get they’re car keys and staff were more than happy to help

The night was advertised as ‘New years eve bash’ which we thought was perfect for six young girls. It cost £15 and we was told we’d get a glass of prosecco and a cocktail- thinking we’d get to chose our cocktail- we got served gin and soda water. We walked in to nothing going on, barely even music playing. The waiter then split a drink all over one of us, ruining her white dress,and not apologetic, and offered complementary shots that he then added onto the bill at the end of the night. With all this mind, they then had the check to put a £10.50 service charge on the bill! we left after an hour, awful experience will not return.

Service was very slow and the food was very expensive for what it was. The atmosphere was great though! We didn't want to tip as we had to keep leaving our table to find staff to get our drinks refilled, the sauces we asked for never arrived however there is a mandatory gratuity fee already added on to your bill! We will probably not go there again for food but the cocktails were lovely!

Great atmosphere, wonderful staff and a good and varied menu. The steaks were divine! We have only recently discovered The Botanist and were not disappointed when we took friends there for New Year. Would highly recommend and look forward to our next visit.

We were sat in a corner upstairs and think we were forgotten about few times as the desserts took age's to come out, me and my partner both had the same meal and dessert and the both of us were unwell the morning after. Not Impressed considering there was 3 of us and the bill came to £105.30

We had a really lovely night, the staff were really helpful and soon sorted out the issue we had with the soup coming out a bit cold. Everyone enjoyed the night and we would definitely book again. Note to the chef, the sea bass could have done with a little less sauce as it was quite overpowering by half way through. Also the Lemon meringue mess was more cream than anything else, so maybe a little more lemon and meringue. But all in all a great night. Thank you.

Another one of those chain pubs serving small, over priced food , and crazy London orientated bar prices. A pint of naff lager, and a wine was £17!! They had live music on at the time. A good musician, but the material was depressing, and no personality, however, it was still a plus compared with the slow service and elevated prices for poor quality . Avoid!

We were a large party there for a Christmas do. Our server was Lily and she was brilliant. She double checked out pre order when we arrived, checked in on us regularly and then helped sort what was a potentially complicated bill with zero fuss. The food was really lovely - sticky toffee was a particular highlight. Will definitely return.

Olly/Ollie was very polite and even during the busy period was capable of taking good care of our table. It was a thank you treat to my mum and she said it was the best place to eat in Lincoln and she shall go back soon, it was definitely a success!

Visited after the panto in Lincoln. There were nine of us and We were seated at a great table - circular and out of the way for our big party with kids. The atmosphere was great - lots of festive cheer and our server was super friendly and helpful. A few options unavailable hence four stars for food rather than five. But what we had was lovely.

I had booked for 11 people for my daughter’s birthday on 16th. From entering the building, we were shown courtesy and shown to our table. We had the large round table near the window, which was fabulous, could see everyone. The food was superb, enjoyed by everyone, which doesn’t happen often. The waitress could not be more cheerful and helpful, and nothing too much trouble. For many it was their first visit, all very complementary and would visit again. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Had cheese on skewers with fries. Server was attentive and happy to help. Thought food was expensive for what it was but atmosphere was nice and chilled. Good location in centre of town.

Booked a table for drinks only. Booked for 6 people, only 5 chairs available and no one around to help find us a chair so we had to ask at the bar. No table service or the QR code to order drinks & pay was disabled so had to go up to the bar. I'd booked for 2 hours, with 50 minutes left, a waiter came over and said we had 50 minutes left....how ridiculous. Then with 20 mins to go he came over again to tell us. Felt rushed and was clock watching then. I knew we had the table till 7, we had already booked else where for afterwards so we didn't want to hang around anyways. One of my party ordered a Christmas special cocktail, said it wasn't available. Then another one of my party ordered straight after with a different waiter and the same cocktail was currently available. Only thing that saved it was the cocktails we did have were nice. Not sure if I'd go at Christmas time again.

The night was absolutely amazing. Me and my staff really enjoyed it. The food was excellent and the service was top tier. The woman that was looking after us (I think her name was Lauren or Laura - she has red hair and was working on the night of 15th December) she made us feel so welcome and kept checking on us to make sure we were all ok and had everything we needed. Would definitely come again.

The atmosphere was great, restaurant very busy but the staff still had time to make sure everything was ok. Food was lovely & we also had great Irish Coffees. Special thanks to Curtis & Megan for providing an excellent service. Highly recommend and will be back again in the New Year for sure.

Excellent food and great service upstairs. Only let down by the front of house reception. We arrived 10 mins early but were not nicely greeted and told to wait “over there” by the bar. When we did get to our table it was very nice but the Cava I had pre-ordered (and paid for) wasn’t there. TBF it did arrive quickly, but it was the having it waiting which I was excited about (small point I know and I’m probably a bit weird). Even though they were busy the service was excellent so full marks for the staff there.

First time at the Botanist - certainly won’t be the last - excellent food, great staff and despite being very busy with Christmas parties we never felt rushed or hurried to leave - definitely recommended 100%

Been on a number of occasions now since it opened. The food is very good at the minute . The starters are delicious, especially the mushrooms, onion petals and the garlic sourdough loaf . The hanging kebabs are all amazing. There was 7 of us last night for an 18th birthday. Two of us had the Rib-eye steak ,which was cooked perfectly , tender and very tasty . The kid’s menu is also good £6.95 for a drink, meal and a dessert. My only complaint with the Botanist is it can be a little bit on the noisy side . The music is too loud and they also have live music on a Friday and Saturday night which can to too loud and you can’t have a conversation at your table . I’ve found the staff to all be very friendly and efficient. Went this Sunday for roast dinner , It was superb . We all had roast beef and ordered extra pigs in blankets , cauliflower cheese and creamed cabbage , all delicious. It’s a little bit pricey but worth it !!

Overall our parties food was OK however 2 of our parties meals came out still frozen in the middle. This was sorted and the 2 received a glass of prosecco each. Staff weren't attentive enough and we did have to keep finding people to make drinks orders, get cutlery and sort food that was wrong or missing. Not the best experience unfortunately.

Had roast dinner, the belly pork, which was very nice. Veg is good, but roast spuds are very underwhelming. Had a side order of pigs in blankets and sausage was very poor quality. Had a dirty glass with oj bits still in glass, which was replaced, but new glass had lots of fingerprints. Staff very good and helpful. Our visit was OK.

Fantastic services from a fabulous waitress, sadly I can’t remember her name but she was amazing and so accommodating. Went out of her way to help us. I would highly recommend based on service alone, she was knowledgeable friendly and attentive.

We had the best time! The food tasted fantastic, the service was friendly, attentive and efficient and the atmosphere was comfy and cosy without being too loud! Loved the round table too! The atmosphere was Ok , the singer downstairs and different music upstairs was just a mixed up noise. We sent one meal back , the food was o.k. Just average.

The food was nice, my steak was a bit dry and not really as medium rare as I wanted to. But the rest was really good. Totally loved their starters and never skip desserts :))) The service was amazing. The staff shall make sure you’re noticed and taken care of during the time you dine with them.

Excellent service, beautiful chain restaurant. We were seated in a lovely corner away from most people and that suited us perfectly! A very good allergy menu; just a wee bit pricier than our local indie restaurants! Good selection of non-alcoholic drinks. Lift for access to the top floor. Staff were brilliant!

Unfortunately my food was disappointing, pork belly roast, first serving veg stone cold, second luke warm, non crispy roast potatoes, as dish steamed, pork soft jelly like topping, would not recommend. Atmosphere ok.

Was a rather disappointed tbh I took my girlfriend here for a anniversary meal because she’s really into plants and I knew she would love the decor, unfortunately we was sat shoved against a wall nowhere near any of this decor its like one side of the dinning area is all plants that are well done the other is the walkway that the staff use as with literally no plants near us an everybody walking past specially as it was busy. Food was good but took awhile we booked a table that was and hour and half and we didn’t even get dessert as we was asked to leave because they wanted the table back because we ran out of time. I wouldn’t mind but the food when we got it was eaten in 10minutes the rest was waiting for it. Very disappointing and probably won’t go back again.

This was my first visit to The Botanist & it did not disappoint. There was a slight wait on the table I booked but once seated the staff were all awesome & attentive. The food was OMG & the kitchen team are to be commended as the quality did not drop on what looked to be an extremely busy evening. The biggest compliment I can give is that, without doubt I will be returning again soon to dine again. Well done team Lincoln.

Group of us visited for an early Xmas party. Food was incredible overall but the vegetarian option didn't go down as well. Great service too.

Came here for Saturday lunch for the first time after hearing good reviews. Very tasty food and good service, although would be nice to have more non-alcoholic drink options such as ciders, as I found my choice was a bit limited and I was driving. Only downside was the 10% service charge applied to the bill, although I did ask for this to be taken off, it is not a cheap place and this could add a fair bit to the bill.
