Out shopping early so missed breakfast, Nipped inyi the Botanist as hubby hasn't been and had a late breakfast Service was good and food is as even better! This place is beautifully decorated, they have a lift so mobility shouldn't be a problem.

El personal era bueno, pero la comida era arfull mi esposa tenía el pollo al curry que dijo que era como una hamburguesa de pollo con salsa que incluso tenía un poco de carne de res en ella yo tenía pescado con patatas fritas el pescado era como comer papilla era como si fuera carne reformada no había copos en ella era como un gran dedo de pescado barato es la segunda vez que hemos estado allí ambas veces fueron muy decepcionantes la música era tan cargada que no pudimos hablar sobre la mesa no va a volver a gelt pobremente después de la comida en camino a casa

Had one of the best old fashioned cocktails I have ever had in here. The barman Tom, was fantastic! I mentioned to him that I liked the traditional old fashioned, he then gave me tips on how to make it at home, a very nice touch! He rasped if I would like to try the smoked old fashioned which he could make.. It was fantastic! Highly recommend.

For halloween Dan and Tom went above and beyond .....both costumes were brilliant .....Customer service was excellent 👌

Went in for birthday lunch. Staff were lovely, so helpful and friendly without being pushy, food and drink was great and due to using lunchtime menu was very reasonable.

I walked in and asked for a table for 2 and was told that there was a 20 minute wait. Went to the bar for a drink while I waited and there were no staff available so I looked on line and booked a table there and then. Once in the restaurant the service was excellent. A yound lady called Ellen or Ellie served us and she was polite, funny and very attentive. I ordered a combination of kebabs and the food was lovely, really tasty and a decent price. The service was fantastic and it was a lovely meal.

Hemos comido en el Botánico de Leeds y York antes, así que sabemos que las opciones sin gluten eran buenas. Mostrado a nuestra mesa. Me dijeron que escaneara el código QR en el menú GF para dar detalles adicionales. Al hacerlo, el menú que tenía que elegir se limitaba a cuatro elementos. Cuestioné esto y me preguntaron ¿qué tan grave es mi alergia? La razón por la que la mayoría de los artículos se eliminan es la contaminación cruzada en una freidora de aire mixto. La enfermedad celíaca no es una alergia. Aprecio el “gluten puede ser transportado por el aire”, etc., pero no tener una freidora separada, etc. no tiene ningún sentido lógico. Al salir - escaneé el recibo y me di cuenta de que me habían cobrado por x 2 copas pequeñas de vino por un total de £ 15. 50 ? ? ? Encontré a alguien y le expliqué. Se disculparon y se fueron. Eran ahora las 7: 45 y estábamos ansiosos de llegar tarde al show. El servidor regresó con £ 7. 70 en efectivo y dijo perdón por el error aquí hay algo de efectivo, estábamos luchando para averiguar cómo reembolsar en su tarjeta. ¡Pero solo te cobramos por la pequeña copa de vino! Creo que lo decente en esta ocasión habría sido quitar las 15 libras. 50 . En este punto estaba tan molesto que llegamos tan tarde, que nos fuimos. No regresaremos.

I recently visited The Botanist in Lincoln, and it was an absolute treat! The vibe was amazing—cozy yet lively, with a unique botanical decor that set the perfect atmosphere for a great night out. I ordered the Korean chicken, and it was next-level delicious. The crispy, flavorful chicken with just the right amount of spice hit the spot. I also couldn’t resist the garlic bread, which was perfectly toasted and oozing with garlicky goodness. And yes, I definitely had more than my share of drinks🥂 their cocktail menu is creative and packed with refreshing options. The staff were super friendly and attentive, making sure everything was spot on. Overall, it was an awesome evening, and I can’t wait to go back! Highly recommend for anyone looking for great food, drinks, and vibes in Lincoln.

Visited today. Waitress was lovely and service was good but whilst everyone enjoyed their meals my hubby and I had the misfortune to experience the Sunday roast. Chicken was dry, and the whole meal was totally underwhelming. Will not be having again.

I ordered Lamb Kofta hanging kebab. £17.50 for approx 5 small rolled balls of lamb mince, which is cheap to buy, not proper lamb meat. Came with a tiny handful of fries. No salad or coleslaw on the side, nothing?? Very disappointed 😞 Then my drink, I ordered a double gin and slim tonic....£13.45!!!! 😱 I mean??? I won't be returning in a hurry 🤷‍♀️

Such a welcoming place, great staff and a warm atmosphere. The decor is eclectic and stylish, the staff friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. The kebabs are to die for, tender, moist chicken with a drizzling of garlic oil, lovely . As a footnote, the toilets were impressive as well

I visited with friends a few weeks ago on a weeknight and we had a great time. Lovely atmosphere, very chill and the staff were attentive and friendly (we were basically the only ones in the restaurant though, bear that in mind)! The food was mixed, I had the Asian noodle salad with chicken and my friends had an assortment of sides and a kebab. At first the salad was pretty good, but once the chicken ran out I was left with this very citrusy mess of cabbage and thin noodles which wasn't the most enjoyable to eat. I wish I could give 3.5 stars since even though the food was meh, everything else was good.

Nice venue, service was polite. Food was reasonable, but expensive, I thought for what it was. Perhaps I'm out of touch on city eating.

I took my team here for our quarterly meal. Never been before. One of my team was late and they held the table for us, which was appreciated. When the staff were paying attention, they were great. Sadly that wasn't too often. At the bar, 3 staff were gathered in the back around the glass washer machine paying no attention to the bar. Later 2 attractive young ladies were served immediately by the young male bar man. He then spent 10 minutes flirting before he came to take my order. This lack of attention spilled over into the dining room. I don't know if the waiting staff are lazy or shy, but no one ever looks up or around at the room to see if anyone needs anything. Our waitress was lovely, bubbly and at least got our order right. Sadly that was the best of a bad job. I had calamari to start and a sirloin steak, ordered medium rare. The calamari were like bullets and the steak was medium well. I didn't complain, purely because I didn't want my team to have to wait while they re-cooked my food. I paid nearly 400 quid for this experience. It's not the most expensive place in the world, but it's certainly not cheap. I could have forgiven the overcooked food if the service was better. Sadly it was pretty poor and half the tables were empty. I can see why now. Like a lot of places these days, it's just lacking leadership and training. If I get any sort of response to this post from the management, I may give it another go, because I liked the decor and the live music. We'll see.

Went for an early birthday lunch with a close friend. The food was lovely and the staff were very welcoming and kind (Will in particular). All wished me a happy birthday and I was very surprised by a complimentary cocktail. We ended up sitting and talking for 3 hours, we weren't once rushed or made to feel we were imposing.

The food exceeded my expectation and the staff were amazing. In particular Pip and Will, they were extremely attentive and Will gave us a good laugh. 100% recommend.

We had a shared starter which was lovely, hanging kebab was not very big, but we enjoyed what we had, adding a service charge to a table of 2 not acceptable, we always tip if the service deserves it we should be forced to tip !

Wow - used to love going to the botanist - has always been my goto.. Having been yesterday - clearly a hipster place and wannabe london bar.. Having spoken to three people at the bar whilst waiting for drinks we all agreed the same, slow, overpriced (such . Shame) sat and watched as people cleared their own tables, familiy sat at a table with the drinks still left in situ from previous two sets of parties.. Staff are lovely -as someone said to me there - have a queue for beer, wine and soft drinks Another for cocktaiks.. Will be back but folks - it isnt difficult for a start get more wine glasses - as the staff said starting the day with 20 wine glasses is not great.

Myself and my boyfriend went for a spontaneous lunch at the botonist Lincoln this Saturday (31/08/2024) we had Will as our server and he absolutely made our afternoon. He was so chatty and approachable and nothing was too much trouble. He was enthusiastic and bubbly and really did go out of his way. Even when I wasn’t happy with my dessert (it was burnt) he offered to get it changed but when I let him know I’d much rather not have one he straightaway insisted on taking it off the bill. - we tipped him personally rather than using the optional service charge as it’s how we prefer to show appreciation when we have a singular waiter/waitress. Our food was lovely, couldn’t fault the starters or main - my partner enjoyed his dessert but I didn’t as mentioned above. And we really did think it was good value for the price. Can’t wait to come back - hopefully Will, can be our server again! ☺️

Loved it. Good food, fabulous cocktails, excellent beer and wine. Will, our server was fantastic, attentive but not over doing it. There was live music which was also really good. Value was on par with other places in town and better than some. We will be back.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars initially is that the chain doesn't offer much selection for gluten free except the dinner menu, but that isn't THIS specific restaurant's fault. The staff are genuinely lovely and always helpful and the food is yummy! I think they must have recently updated their allergen recipes as there are more gluten free items on the dinner menu that I am excited to try!

Daniel is an amazing (almost) mixologist. All 3 recommends were spot on. Excellent experience.

Visited my son recently in Lincoln. What a lovely place, great atmosphere, good food, and service was excellent.

We went here with my daughter and her boyfriend. They had cocktails, and my partner and I had coffee. I never really sensed any atmosphere, but then it was three o'clock in the afternoon. To be honest, not really my sort place. My daughter likes it, so that's fair enough. The thing I would say is that there never seems to be enough staff on.

I ventured into this bar due to being early to meet people. I was greeted by the bartender Daniel, who made me feel welcome and comfortable. Incredibly impressed by his knowledge and he makes some delicious cocktails. Very impressed, will visit again. Incredible member of staff !

If you're after a cocktail in amazing surroundings with amazing staff this is the place to go . Tom you are the man can't thank you enough.

Wonderful ambience, extensive range of drinks and foods. Kudos to the barman, I believe his name was Tom, who impressed me with his bar flair skills, and certainly kept me entertained, as well as being so professional and courteous.

Food was good but we had an issue with our bill and our server came over and asked us to pay another tables bill as they had accidentally given them our bill and they had paid it! I was never given our original bill to compare I was just told “it’s only 50p difference” after a few calculations by myself we discovered our actual bill was actually considerably less and the server just said that she had “had a long day the day before and was tired”. I found this bad service and bad practice if this is normal procedure when this kind of error occurs!

Very disappointing. Service was slow (over an hour to get the meal). The £28 steak was not cooked as requested - asked for medium rare but got well down. My burger was burnt - not just char grilled but carbonised. After all that they have the audacity to automatically add 10% service to the bill - which requested be removed.

Had a fantastic experience in Botanist on Monday evening with my colleague. Food was absolutely amazing especially the pork kebab. Would truly recommend. The selection of starters we had are phenomenal and very filling. Beautiful cocktails, full of flavour. Jess and Chloe the hostess which served us were superb, very friendly and efficient. 10/10

Sat at the bar for a drink. Was ignored on multiple occasions when wanting another drink, it wasn’t exactly busy. Was finally serve and comment was made by my friend about finally been served and then was refused service due to expressing dissatisfaction about the poor service 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!

I was waiting to be served and after the second time of being served after someone else I then raised this issue with the bar staff. Having then given my order to bar staff I was then told that I couldn’t be served. I don’t understand why taking my order I then couldn’t be served, we’d already purchased and consumed a drink in the premises and enjoyed the atmosphere so wanted another. I felt disrespected and that my custom wasn’t appreciated, so we left. I will not be returning to this venue or any other botanists if they the staff don’t respect the queuing system.

We had our wedding celebration meal at the botanist for a large group. Great service, streamlined process to choose 3 course meal for all guests, excellent food and drinks, and extremely polite and friendly servers... we had a lovely time celebrating our wedding there and would recommended to anyone thinking of doing the same 😀 the Calamari was "chefs kiss" 👩‍🍳 👨‍🍳🦑

CON MEN - BEWARE These people add a service charge to your bill and they do not tell you. They do not give you a copy of the bill / receipt so that you do not find out until you get the charge through onto your bank statement. THIS IS TOTALLY ILLEGAL IN THE UK. It must, in UK law, be made clear to you prior to odering if they intend to add any form of service charge and also made clear that is actually discretionary, not compulsory ( illegal in yhe UK ). We have no quibble with giving a gratuity where appropriate, but not to allow a chain to pay less to the staff and trick customers into paying part of their wage bill. See the attached photos of their bill to see that it is not noted on the bill, let alone made clear to customers prior to ordering - ILLEGAL IN THE UK. The food is fine, but the prices on the menu are NOT what you will be charged.

Thought we'd have a treat and a night out so decided to go to the botanist again for a meal and a drink or two, been before and as always is really easy to book, upon arrival we were shown straight to our table and orderd drinks followed by food after looking at the menu, I decided to stray from my fave of a hanging and choose the dirty chicken burger, my wife chose fish and chips, the food arrived and looked fantastic, I upgraded to chunky chips, however they seemed to have some sort of herb seasoning, or have been cooked in a herb oil and I just couldn't get on with the taste, maybe I mis read the menu or it wasn't stated, but just normal cooked chips would have done for me, also the burger was way too salty for me, as was the wife's fish and chips. Think we'll go again but just stick to the kebabs next time.

First time in for dining, the selection on the menu is good and varied, slightly overpriced IMHO. However, the quality of what I eat (cold Asian noodles with plant-based schnitzel) was very nice. I had some issue with a different order from what I asked to be delivered to the table, but this has been resolved by the waiter in no time. Service was good but only one waiter was serving and it took sometime before we could get his attention and ask for the bill.

Arrived at 7 pm on a Saturday night, the place was busy. The table was waiting for us. Friendly welcome. Well looked after all evening by waiting and serving staff. Good menu. Not rushed, the food served at a nice pace. It was well cooked and hot, and everything tasted freshly cooked. The staff were busy, but they always had time for their customers, which I think is so important. Never been to a 'Botanist ' before. We were impressed and will be back.

Regular visitors, Sunday menu. No children’s beef burger on menu now? That’s all my son will eat. So had to pay for an adult one and take out all the stuff inside. It’s then no different to a children’s one. Just cost a lot more. For this reason I didn’t pay the £9 service charge which I would normally pay. Also I thought the beef was under cooked and not very tasty. Normally the place is packed. But maybe because of the menu changes it was a lot emptier. Also maybe due to new places in town to eat and drink. Lincoln botanist needs to raise its game. Love the place normally but felt very underwhelmed on this occasion.

Loved the food and good view. Had the coconut rice and vegan koftas delicious 😋. Staff very helpful too. Just would have liked the music a bit quieter!!

Where to start? Fantastic service and great drinks. Personal thank you to the barman Will extremely attentive and clearly a talented barman a credit to the company. Chose the 3 tapas bar food and honestly the quality was incredible. Thank you to the chefs. Band playing was extremely complimentary to the atmosphere of the bar definitely recommended and will definitely be returning 👌

Average experience . Their famous hanging kebab is basically a kebab on a fancy stand suspended over some oven chips. Waitress was amazing but food just mass produced , nothing to write home about at all .

We had a really lovely night, the staff were really helpful and soon sorted out the issue we had with the soup coming out a bit cold. Everyone enjoyed the night and we would definitely book again. Note to the chef, the sea bass could have done with a little less sauce as it was quite overpowering by half way through. Also the Lemon meringue mess was more cream than anything else, so maybe a little more lemon and meringue. But all in all a great night. Thank you.

Had food and cocktails at the botanist on a first date! And oh my word, they never fail to deliver. They always hit the mark when it comes to service, ambience, quality everything is amazing. Major props to Curtis such a talented mixologist? Think that’s the right word, recommended drinks, great banter, he’s a fantastic vibe and an absolute asset to this establishment and community. 10/10.

Very expensive for a small amount of food. Had a hanging kebab about 4 pieces of meat and 2 bits of onion and a handful of chips . It was nice food but nothing special . Staff were excellent though.

Amazing staff and fantastic service

Fantastic evening! Managed to squeeze us in on a saturday evening despite it being busy with events happening. Food was quick and top tier, we opted for the sharing kebab which was beautiful! lovely range and plenty of food for two. Service absolutely topped off the evening though. Will was our server as was an absolute delight from the start. Made brilliant recommendations on sides & drinks and never left us with an empty glass. Wasn’t overly attentive which was a nice touch as we fancied a quieter evening, yet still friendly and making us laugh. Ella M also looked after us partly making sure we had everything we needed while Will was at another table. She is an absolute gem!! Constantly smiling and added a nice personal touch to the evening.

Lamb kebab was ok, chips had to much salt on them. Chicken kebab was ok, the rice didn't really taste of coconut. Over all food and service was ok, but I didn't get wow factor so won't be returning

Food was okay - but no better than okay. Had cocktails - the Mai Tai was truly awful - seemed to contain coconut but it wasn't declared. The ingredients list was not classic Mai Tai but we thought we'd risk it. Dear Botanist if you make something with different ingredients then it is no longer the thing you are calling it. Either call it something else, stop making it or better still make a proper Mai Tai!!!!

Lovely atmosphere, the server/front of house was friendly and polite. However, we had to leave our brunch due to no gluten free options being on the brunch menu and o only one thing available on the main menu which was gluten free! Luckily the establishment over the way, had room for us and ample choice for celiacs.

Oh my goodness where do I start. I held a surprise birthday party with 27 guests and from the point of first contact to the end of the evening itself, the staff were AMAZING! Everything had such a personal touch. I couldn't have had any better service and communication if I'd paid for a 5* hotel private function. I visited beforehand just to check it would work and even at that point the staff were fantastic and made me feel so welcome and nothing was too much trouble to explain. Will has to have a special mention. He went above and beyond and the service from him was second to none. He was brilliant!! He dealt with everything so professionally and efficiently. The food was brilliant too. If I had to be ultra ultra picky, it could have been hotter BUT when you're serving 27 people at the same time that is usually the compromise and one I was certainly happy to accept as the quality was beautiful. I can't recommend this place enough. From a meal for 2 to a large function you will not be disappointed.

What a lovely place! Delicious food! (Very nicely presented!) Happy staff! Clean! Tidy! Gorgeous bathrooms! Yes, its all too good..... But not without a high price! It might not be high for some, but if you want that extra treat, and the feeling of surrounding yourself with dark wood, modern murals, and calming plants, then you must visit next time you are in Lincoln! Im not sure which is the most enjoyable now - The Cosy Club (opposite) or The Botanist - maybe you folks can decide between you! 😉😁 Enjoy!

We enjoyed our trip to the botanist. Good food although a bit pricey for the amount of food you actually get, but as it's a city centre eatery, it was to be expected. I had the pork belly kebab with fries, and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. Beers are a bit pricey, same reason as above. Service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely revisit.

The chicken burgers were amazing!! We had the crispy and grilled one. Our waitress Keira was lovely and took care of our every need. The service was quick and we would definitely recommend this restaurant. All of the staff were smiley and nice!!

Lovely experience. Sat by the window, which was a lovely view of the busy city. The food was delicious! Chicken Katsu kebab and the pork belly kebab. there was so much food! The service was brilliant and the interior is so pretty. The only reason we’ve given 4 stars is because it’s pretty pricey and it would be a reason for us to not go back as often but overall a really fab lunch.
