Always good food and good service although because it's good it's usually very busy, a good sign I think. 👍

Went in for lunch, little bit of a wait not too long. Liked the experience

Staff not attentive when we ordered we had to wait,20 minutes for 2 coffee's and 2 toasted tea cakes, when we got tea cakes they where cold and hard, cafe was not busy 3 other couple's, will not be returning.PS we have a stokes in our village which is excellent with friendly staff.

A bit crowded, otherwise all good.

Not as good as it used to be unfortunately. Crammed too many tables into the downstairs area which is where you're forced to sit if you're not eating. Very uncomfortable. Long wait to be served despite indicating that we were ready to order. Will not return.

An amazing building, stunning views, attentive and service from people who care along with great food and creative drinks!

We visited before, and were impressed that gluten free foods were available, so returned today. 2nd floor, steps are worth going up for! Served by Ruby and Lumi, could not ask for better service. Ruby asked if we had any allergies, not often restaurants ask that. Lovely atmosphere. Reasonable prices too. Next visit to Lincoln we will be there. Can highly recommend this place.

The service was really friendly and the waitress went out of her way to make sure everything was great, just think for the price the sandwiches could have had more filling but would definitely visit again. Great selection of gluten free options.

My partner and I came here for breakfast last Wednesday and we had a lovely experience. The food was great and our server Ruby was absolutely delightful. I think she said she was new to the job and if that is the case you wouldn’t know it at all! She was attentive, pleasant and knowledgable when we had questions. We’ll definitely be back!

Ruby was our delightful server on Tuesday. She was kind, friendly, really helpful offering suggestions and even participated in my husband’s bad jokes. We had a lovely meal (the eggs Benedict is super yummy!) and highly recommend a stop! Thank you Ruby and Stokes x

What a wonderful way to start the day with Lincolnshire plum bread & cobbler cheese. It has been 20+ years since I last had this & I enjoyed it very much. A wonderful building with fantastic service from Ruby who was very friendly & courteous. I really appreciated the wide selection of teas available & thoroughly enjoyed a pot of Jade Oolong. I highly recommend Stokes & will be back on my next visit to Lincoln.

Poor service to busy talking to each other. Slow service food only warm not HOT gravy like water.Not how it used to here.Also expensive for steak pie and vegetables. Won't be going back.

Always love a visit to Stokes on High Bridge. We just love the old building and the staff are always friendly. We were served on Saturday predominately by Holly. What a lovely polite young lady, having worked in hospitality myself when I was younger I pay particular attention to service received and she was excellent. A solo lady was at another table and let’s just say she was commanding a little of Hollys time wanting to chat about her life etc - Holly was a little star and engaged politely to appease the lady whilst seeming genuinely interested. The team overall we’re all great - young girl Connie who we also noticed was particularly good at her job. As a side note our coffee and brekkie was spot on but made all the better by stokes staff. Well done , see you again soon!

It was a really nice atmosphere and the lady told us the differences in the food we ordered. Nice to find a cafe opening at 8.30am

First time in the Stokes for Cream Tea and it was worth it apart from few glitches with the service. Food is excellent. Sandwiches are tasty, Pies are yummy, Scones are lovely and little cakes are scrumptious. The chosen teas are excellent. We chose the Lush cream tea which came with a glass of Prosecco each. The staff are attentive and friendly, but they forgot certain things like milk for tea, some cutlery, and most importantly, clotted cream for the Scones, which I had to go and ask. They were apologetic. Otherwise it was great, decent atmosphere and the shop downstairs is sweet with selection of cakes, biscuits, coffees, teas. We are big fans of their Coffee pods and bought some home.

This is my regular coffee shop. I have Oliver make me a Mint mocha daily and it never disappoints. Tried eating in today and the food is also, very good. The atmosphere is beautiful, and the staff is friendly. Oliver really does make a mean cup of joe though!! Emma is also a fabulous Barista!

I had breakfast with my partner Saturday morning, it was busy and we had English breakfast, Benedict eggs and some small donuts. The food wasn't something special, it was ok, the service was really good and fast and nice and the atmosphere was good with the view to the river and was cozy and relaxing with nice music. I had nice time!

Thoroughly enjoyed this place. Good gluten free food, staff very aware of allergies, friendly service. Reasonably priced. Anyone with walking difficulties may not manage the upstairs, as it is a very old building. Definitely worth more visits when in Lincoln!

Keira and Lumi offered excellent service especially Keira who delivered us two plates as we were sharing a toastie and cake. The sausage, cheddar and apple chutney was delicious followed by a beautiful scone and top class coffee.

We came to dine with you on two occasions in the space of a week and were by chance served by the same waitress Ruby. She is so lovely and is an asset to your team, she definitely added the wow factor to our experiences. The food was lovely, and good portions for the price. It was consistently good as well which is amazing! We are all vegetarian which can make finding a place to eat challenging but there is a good amount of choice and the food is very high quality (especially for the price). Definitely recommend and thank you Ruby for making our experience so lovely!

What a beautiful place to have a coffee or hot chocolate, and a warm scone with jam and clotted cream. I had the full house hot choc, made, and served by Alice, and it was absolutely superb, one of the nicest hot chocolates I've had. We were also served by Lumi, both her and Alice were super friendly and gave us perfect service. I absolutely recommend giving it a visit! Thank you Lumi and Alice, you made it a great visit 😘

Perfect food and excellent service

The service here is great. Olive and joe are great people and they always put a smile on my face. I hold recommend the hot chocolate and the banoffee muffin.

Don't let the scaffolding fool you! Behind it is an amazing little restaurant, cafe and takeaway. We stopped by for breakfast on Sunday and we absolutely loved it. Not the cheapest of places, but worth every penny. The food was delicious and a healthy portion size to boot. All the dishes were full of flavour and quality. Coffees were great as well. The staff were friendly, fast and attentive. We'd definitely go back.

Very friendly staff and great food. The location is nice as well. The only downside was the size of the table. It would have been small for one person, let alone two.

This place is the full package, they have the style food and flavour. The coffee is really nice, but the cake really was something else. I had the lemon drizzle which I highly recommend, the pain au Chocolat was also lovely and I believe it was made in house. The strawberry frape was ok, wasn't anything special. If you come here you have to have a look around as the building is full of old charm.

Stoke, a little, old, traditional lunch, brunch, dining place. Marvellous food, optimum service, located less than 100 m from the Cathedral. Simple, cosy, accepting "good behaving" dogs inside, a family atmosphere. All contribute to a 5 star evaluation. Thank God for Lincoln!

They even gave us hot water for the babies bottle.

Visited for breakfast, food was only average but, the tea was very nice. Lovely old building and friendly staff. Wasn't quite what I had imagined though; maybe I was expecting too much having often seen queues of punters waiting to get in.

I used to go here with my grandma in the 1980s, and was happy to take my wife for a relaxing Sunday breakfast. Great service, quality ingredients and excellent atmosphere. I enjoyed reminiscing and creating new memories.

Great venue lovely atmosphere with good views from our window seats. Staff are excellent, friendly and very obliging. Good menu choices all at good prices. They have a light bite restaurant on ground floor plus a full menu restaurant on 2nd floor via a old fashioned staircase. Really please as we have been trying for a few years to go here.

Very disappointed with the breakfast. The quality and quantity is severely lacking for what you pay . Doesn't feel like good value for money. I don't mind paying a bit more for good quality food, but if you'd served me this at a C tier restaurant buffet I'd be disappointed. Will probably come back for coffee though. Staff mentioned how understaffed they were, we felt bad for being there honestly.

and I just mean……..WOW. I have never had coffee like it, beautiful scenery and the fish and chips were just a delight, staff were so friendly and helpful, I will definitely be coming back here and I recommend y’all do the same

Had a lovely lunch here, had a couple of vegan options. However it was quite loud and busy which meant service was quite slow. Wish they had a couple more vegan options like a vegan wrap and gluten free wraps weren’t so expensive (an extra 1.50). My vegan scone was quite nice, wish it was warmed up though! And the vegan GF sand which was filled with avocado which was good! But we did have to wait 20 minutes for it. Recently Revisted and Lovely service with Holly and Jo!

A little slice of history with lovely food! Great Omelette, fab chips, a lovely cheese scone and quiche of the day was our lunch of choice. The omelette was great but the quiche was a little soggy due to the roasted veg. The service was fab and friendly. We will return

Came here for breakfast whilst staying in Licoln. The cafe has kept most of its original designs giving it an authentic feel. The breakfast was expensive for what you received and wasn't the best. It may be personal choice, but the bacon was more like gammon and not crispy, the sausage were a weird texture and the eggs were overdone. The butter for the toast was a nice touch though, locally bought and tasted lovely. Wouldn't go again for breakfast as really not to our liking but could see cakes and scones on the counters that looked delicious, so maybe would try for lunch in the future.

Had lunch here, sat upstairs were you can get more substantial meals than the coffee and cake cafe downstairs. We had the BBQ pulled pork and falafel wraps and our two year old had the fish fingers from the kids menu. All were really nice and decent value, the kids meal was huge! Great view down onto the high street and it’s just a quirky historic building to eat in. Worth a visit. Service was very friendly.

Legend!!! We love our experience eating and drinking in this café. They brew beautiful coffee and tea. For their filtered coffee, you can have free refills as much as you like. We tried Lady Jo tea and it was very nice. The cream cake was very delicious too. If you are visiting Lincoln, you have to try this. One of the local champions, indeed!

Good tea. They have a lot of selection tea and home made tea. Nice for relax time.

Fooled by a beautiful building. Waited in a queue for a while to be seated whilst listening to one member of staff get cross with another member of staff. When we got a table it was sticky and the menu was quite limited. When we got our food, the bread was extremely dry and the chips tasted like cheap oven chips. Such a disappointment for the price we had to pay.

Had a late breakfast here with my sister while doing a day visit to Lincoln. Lovely old historical building. I had a stokes big breakfast £14.00 ; very nice and filled me up for the whole day. My sister just had the bacon sandwich but made it a double bacon £5.95 . Had a tea pot for two as well. They do there own teas too.

We have often visited this cafe and always been happy. Me and my mum popped in for lunch and the food was terrible very bland and the quiche wasn't heated properly. Very unhappy and disappointed with the food. Will not be returning. Very poor experience for a busy Saturday.
