Coffee Bobbins in Lincoln

I loved this place but it seems it has now closed as I've gone by more than once, on different days and times, and is always closed.

Had a lovely visit to Coffee Bobbins for lunch, delicious food and drink and nice, cosy feeling atmosphere

I love this place. Kind and witty staff, a great menu with generous portions at reasonable prices. Cafes should be warm, friendly, inviting spaces, and this one meets all of those criteria with distinct ease. Dog friendly too!!

An absolute gem in a lovely location. The staff are really friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The food is delicious and reasonably priced, the cakes look splendid but we were too full to try them. The teapots are a talking point and the serving is generous. The decor is unique and adds to the experience

My go to little cafe in Lincoln, which always has a delightful selection of cakes in the window to tempt you in. The owner's bubbly personality (and collection of teapots) adds to the warmth of the small quirky space. Good lunchtime staples of panini's, toasties etc don't disappoint. However it's the cakes that get me, something a little different and always divine.

A fantastic little find! The food is excellent as is the service. Also an unusual way to repurpose treadle sewing machine tables!

No way is it home made food I should have left when I saw presentation and after tasting it I should have complained put me off food for the day

This is my favourite coffee shop in Lincoln. It’s really cosy and I love their range of drinks. The cakes are always incredible and it’s so hard to pick! Staff are always lovely too.

Popped in on a Saturday for a takeaway coffee. Really good coffee and service but felt sorry for the lady behind the counter as it was so busy.

Good and cozy coffee place, full of character and charm. The tabletop was an old sewing machine, really cool and fun place.

Dog friendly and lovely little place to get a coffee

From the outside you would walk past as it looks so small, but do go in and look as they had plenty of available tables. A sewing theme, hence the name. Staff friendly but service a bit slow (training a new person I think). Toasted sandwich was great - large portions. A little gem. Recommended

Popped in for a spit of lunch on Sunday as part of watching the Steampunk festivities. Quaint little venue, with about 5 tables, toilet to rear of property access to which is across a smallcourtyard, not suitable for a wheelchair. A lovely couple of uoung ladies were serving and were very welcoming. I had a panini and hubby had a flatbread, both are pre-made and then toasted. Nicely presented. Clean Would visit again and recommend.

Beautiful little family and dog friendly lunch spot. Swung in, invited by showstopper homemade buttercream'ed cake which didn't disappoint. My wife and I had toasted artisan bread sandwiches, delicious innovative cake, fresh take-home brownies, accompanied by tasty full-bodied coffees. Incredible value for money in a spotless, loved, friendly atmosphere. Love the theme. Thank you Bobbins! Our favourite Lincoln visit!

I visited this wonderful cafe again yesterday as it’s one of my favourite places to relax….. for those who haven’t yet experienced steep hill, this cafe is situated at the base so it’s ideal as a ‘base camp’ before tackling the climb or recharging after reaching the summit. I had the Cookie Cake. As usual I was met with a decent portion and the cake itself was delicious. My daughter had a raspberry brownie and she seemed impressed - well as impressed as a teenager can be lol. Although the cafe was very busy (it was early afternoon at the time), the staff were very friendly and took the time to make sure that we were doing well. Overall, I had a lovely time!

Where do I start… the cake looked deceptively good but drastically disappointing uncooked coffee and walnut cake the butter cream ( I call it butter cream) very synthetic my daughter didn’t eat hers, I had the carrot cake and that at least was cooked but it had the same very bad “I can’t call it butter cream” I’ll call it covering for the price I was expecting cream cheese. The place need a really good clean cobwebs on decor retro doesn’t mean unkempt. The coffee was at best average I don’t like leaving bad reviews as I try to find positive thing to say as I know the catering industry is going through a tough time as I’ve been in the industry for a long time. I can’t get over how bad the cake was don’t spend your hard earned cash in here.

Popped in for lunch. Sweet red onion and cheese toastie anyone? Delicious! Cakes looked amazing, but we didn't sample them. Others did, and were clearly very happy. The cafe is themed around sewing and sewing machines which is so unusual. Oh, and they positively welcome dogs!

Bobbins never disappoints. It is a small delicate cafe on the way up to Steep Hill and can be easily overlooked, though I don't mind as it means there's always a good selection of fresh baked cakes on offer. The staff here are all very personable and all lovely. They know their stuff and are happy to talk you through the details of the impressive cakes and treats available, as well as offering a great selection of coffees, teas, and soft drinks. Space can be tight, but the hosiery theme that runs throughout with delightful sewing machine tables topped with old rules, are lovely and tactile. Give Bobbins a look in, next time you're heading up the hill.

My daughter and I were enticed by the amazing looking cakes in the window and when we looked inside realised there was the added bonus of indoor seating. After a walk up the hill on a rather warm day we were ready for a sit down. We were rewarded with friendly, cheerful staff who greeted us warmly, a quirky, beautifully decorated interior which was cool after the heat of the day outside and a comprehensive, reasonable priced menu. We ordered a tea, peach iced tea, carrot cake and coffee and almond cake, they were served promptly by a wonderful staff member in gorgeous china, the portions were huge, the cake was moist and delicious and the tea’s refreshing. A top treat, we will definitely be back.

first visit to this coffee shop , surprised to get a seat on a busy saturday lunchtime. cosy little table for 2 in an alcove - very nicely decorated with a sewing theme . ordered a brie, bacon and cranberry panini, and a cheese and onion toastie. both came with salad and crisps - very good value for money. coffee was very nice too. will go back again.

What a gorgeous place. We dodged in here less than an hour before closing, in a quest for a very late lunch snack, to fuel us on the walk home after a trek round the cathedral. Lovely, helpful, friendly staff, teen very happy with their chai latte, my tea was Proper (and the pot was a bonus), and we shared a tasty toastie. Teen’s takeout milkshake was declared a new entry in Top 2 Milkshakes league table. 🏳️‍🌈 & 🏳️‍⚧️ friendly/welcoming, really wish we lived closer so we could introduce the rest of the family to this gem of a cafe.

Lovely quirky place , decor right up my street. Narrow but long , immaculate toilets across the yard. Great range of cakes , scones and hot food . We had sausage and chutney panini , fruit scone , nice that it came with clotted cream and jam , everything was delicious. Lady Manger was lovely and brought our food to table. Best part you welcomed my puppy Jasper with open arms as they say , such a relief to find a nice dog friendly place to eat . Highly recommend and would defo visit again. PS Jasper says any chance of a pupachino for him the next time 😀😀

We were here on Tuesday after visiting Lincoln castle and cathedral Thought that we should support local enterprises rather than the usual chains We weren’t disappointed . With a warm greeting and clearing us a table we indulged Their facilities also included and baby changing mat in the toilet All lovely and clean The seating area was decorated beautifully with old sewing machines and sewing paraphernalia they even had tape measures as part of the table top design Lovely and would definitely recommend if you are visiting Lincoln……. Excellent cafe on the way up the hill. Very accomodating to my 2 dogs. Excellent coffee and different home made cakes every day. Friendly family staff made us welcome every day.

I had a cappuccino and carrot cake here which was okay but a bit dry and the coffee was very strong. They did allow dogs which was lovely so I would possibly consider returning in hopes that the food has improved.

My husband and I popped in for a drink and we found this little cafe to be charming, quirky but most importantly friendly. So lovely to have a pot of tea and at a reasonable price served by a waitress who knows how to give good customer service. We’ll definitely come back for tea and cake 🍰

Popped in a couple of days ago for lunch. The decor is lovely, I don't know, maybe if it were a busy period it might have been better. As it was I ended up on my own in the cafe, listening to the overly loud and slightly sweary conversation of the two staff and their mate (I'm happy that they once had a 2 hour nap, I really am). The bean panini was a bit of a disappointment, a little bland but not horrible. Would've considered ordering cake (they looked great) but as the world's dullest but freakishly loud conversation moved on to that time someone got ghosted by their Norwegian Internet friend, I had to escape.

What a find. Fantastically dog friendly cafe. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Lemon Scones are a revelation and highly recommended give them a try. Situated at the bottom of Steep Hill load up to take on fuel before tackling the hill or take a break and chill if returning down the hill. Highly recommended.

Lovely place, if I lived there I would be in there all the time, cake is so delicious and made by the lady who runs the tea room. This is one of the best tea rooms I have been in, and I have been in many. Also love the decor. Make this your shopping break place for a reviving coffee, its a must.

So many good coffee shops in Lincoln and this is another. The coffee is Good. The CAKES are FANTASTIC. I had the honey, orange and ginger cake. A ginger cake with an orange flavoured topping. So good, so large, so delicious. The savory food looked good too, but I needed cake. A sugar rush to get you up Steep Hill.

Brilliant. On holiday In Lincoln looking for somewhere to eat gluten free. I walked into this cafe & asked if they catered Gluten Free. I'm coeliac turns out the owner has a friend who is coeliac & did she know her stuff! Even knew I couldn't have a certain product as it had Barley in it. Wow. Makes a change from people only knowing about wheat. Offered me gf alternatives where possible. Everything made separately and using seperate cooking utensils. I will be back.

Fabulous homemade cakes, (the apple pie cake and caramel apple blondies were amazing), in a friendly and intimate cafe with a sewing theme... Highly recommended.
