Very nice tea and coffee. The round biscuits were sublime. The only thing I was worried about was the gurgling toilet. I think the plumbing needs looking at. Highly recommended for food thank you.

Best bacon butty in Lincoln. This is a great family run place. The staff are lovely m, dog friendly, great coffee and by far the best bacon roll in Lincoln - they do it really crispy if you ask! All the sandwiches and cakes are lovely and freshly made. Great place all round - thanks!!

A lovely spot for a really good cup of coffee. Food is well priced. You order inside then it is table service. This is a lovely place for a bite to eat.

Great spot in Lincoln for coffee. We had iced coffees and a toastie and both were excellent. A nice choice of food and drinks, and the staff were friendly. We sat outdoors and it was a great sun trap.

Just to the north of the cathedral, and worth a visit. Seating inside and out, very nice coffee, and good cakes on offer too. Lunches available if you want. Obviously popular with touriats and regulars, and I can see why

Wonderful little place just a five minute walk from the castle - lovely coffee and even lovelier staff. Also do a mean banoffee muffin!

Lovely coffee and well priced toasted sandwiches and muffins. Lovely outdoor seating area. A good place to stop off in the Bailgate area.

Fantastic cafe in a perfect spot for breakfast or a light lunch. Reasonably prices with great coffee and food. Outside seating, dog friendly, great staff. My new 'go to' cafe without doubt. Really very much recommended.

This has become my regular Saturday morning starting spot! The best bacon sandwiches ever! Lovely staff, cute small cafe.

Cutest little independent coffee shop located 5 minutes from the cathedral, the owner and staff are lovely, the food is so good, I usually get a pizza twist or cake and both are delicious! Regular customer and would never go anywhere else as no other place has ever compared. Have milk alternatives which is great, a big selection of syrups, variation of food. But the staff really make the place! The young lad bevan makes the best coffee I’ve ever tasted! Dog friendly also which is so uncommon in coffee shops!! 100% recommend if in the area!!

Although a lovely looking place with a nice simple menu, I witnessed a food handling employee pick up and cuddle a dog while wearing her apron, and she did not wash her hands before going back to handling food and drinks. Unfortunately this put me off my lunch so I did not manage to finish it. I would not recommend and would certainly not come again.

Popped in for a quick takeaway, pleasant staff and lovely coffee and even got a biscoff :)) food looked nice will return!

I had a chai latte and a fabulous sandwich. Great portion, with clearly very good quality produce. Service was efficient and friendly. I was lucky to get a table outside which made the whole experience ever better. Excellent value for money too.

Had the luck to be able to sit outside in the spring sunshine. All the coffees were lush, the tea in a cute pot was great and the white hot chocolate was delicious!

Having been a student too lazy to walk past the cathedral, I never knew there was such an amazing coffee shop. I have been a few times now and ordered different things everyime and have not been disappointed. The food and drinks are high quality and the staff are always smiley and friendly.Would highly recommend the tira misu slice and caribbean breeze smoothie!

Been coming to this place for a good year now, but just wanted to express my love for it! I live 30 seconds away and believe me, it has been a blessing through lockdown! Richard and his team are so wonderful and welcoming and the coffee and pastries are excellent! Lucky to have this on my doorstep and will continue to be a loyal and regular customer. You guys are great, thank you!

Since the national lockdown begun myself and my partner agreed that we would visit this coffee shop each weekend, we want to support local and this place is brilliant. Nothing is ever to much trouble and they offer a great selection of coffees and treats. More importantly they love our dog and make such a fuss of him. In fact the dog pulls us into the shop when he see it’s because of the amount of treats he gets here. Thanks coffee by the arch and see you at the weekend!

First time trying coffee & food here, was not disappointed. Prices very good, quality of food was spot on. Cakes look fabulous, good choice for the Vegans too. Excellent customer service, very welcoming. Will definitely recommend & will most definitely return. Thankyou.

We enjoyed our drinks in the outside seating area with comfortable seats and cushions which I thought was a nice touch. My espresso was full flavoured with a good crema. I particularly liked the fact that it was served at a decent temperature, a fraction too hot to enjoy immediately but ready within a couple of minutes. In many other cafes my espresso has been served at a lukewarm temperature which I did not appreciate. I briefly mentioned this to one of the owners who explained that they serve their espresso at 70 degrees, whereas most establishments serve at 65 or even 60 degrees. My one suggestion would be to have a vegan friendly scone, cookie or cake as they taste equally delicious and it would make the cafe more attractive to people following a vegan way of life.

Great little place to stop for a bite to eat and a drink. Good service with friendly staff. The food was a good standard along with a great pot of tea. Just off the main tourist spot but well worth it.

Having visited a few times prior to lockdown I already thought this place was great! But unbeknown to the lovely owners they have been my perfect little slice of normality since they opened for takeaway during lockdown. Also providing my fuel for the day whilst completing my dissertation! I never really write reviews, but I could not praise this place enough! My go to place for iced coffee!! My favourite!! Pizza twists are an absolute must to try! In fact all the food is delicious and by far the best coffee in Lincoln. I’m so pleased I only live round the corner, but would advise anyone visiting Lincoln to head to Coffee by the Arch, you won’t regret it ☕️

Lucky to live three minutes away from this brilliant cafe. Amazing creamy lattes, delicious toasties and very friendly staff. All the cakes look lovely, but I’m yet to try one so that will be the next treat! My partner and I loved the Lincoln photography on the walls but we couldn’t find a name for the artist - would love to know who’s work this is! :)

This place is under new ownership and we came for coffee and a snack with our dogs. The husband and wife team were so kind and friendly, the coffee was great and very well made. The place is small and quirky and nicely decorated. Good outdoor seating area with nice cushions and blankets - thank you! Easy toilet facilities and all extremely clean and well attended.Great selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes and anything else they can do for you if they can! Have made it my local coffee stop of choice.

Great little personable cafe with a warm welcome. Great proper tea/coffee. Free top-up, sugar cubes rather than sachets (I know that sounds petty but I like a lot of sugar and using those paper sachets is just lazy for a coffee shop) Great Bacon Rolls!

I called in for an Americano. Simple enough order. Black. No milk. Waited 20 minutes plus. Even though I was assured I would have my coffee delivered to my table. Couldn’t manage a simple order. The next time I visit such a noble city I shall avoid this place. Even though there name is linked with one of 7 Gates to the city.

Worth walking just out of the main tourist centre for. Yummy cakes and friendly atmosphere. Charging plugs and WiFi.

If you’re heading out to see the Newport Arch then do stop by this little coffee bar which is just through the arch. Simple surroundings but excellent coffee and the owner could tell me exactly what blend it was. It’s nice to see small businesses doing their best.

A little off the beaten track for shoppers as it’s located at the top edge of town under the arch. But We’re glad about that because we always get a seat Lovely smiley and friendly staff.Very good coffee and nice cakes.We park our motorbike right outside next to the hire cycles so it’s good for us while we are out on the motorbike.Outside seating with blankets and cushions and a very clean place.Ssssh! I have frequented this small cosy café on numerous occasions and it never disappoints.The addition of a free iced water with my usual latte is an innovative touch which speaks volumes for the care and attention the owners are providing at this little gem. Everything is very reasonably priced - try it- you also will not be disappointed.

We stopped by for lunch and it was so wonderful! The food was so fresh and tasty and the coffee was loovely and hot! We were quite surprised at how reasonably priced everything was too compared to other cafe's in Lincoln. The owners were so welcoming and it was such a delight to sit outside in the sun and watch the world go by. Give this place a try, you won't be disappointed. :)The lemon and blackcurrant cake was goorge! We managed to get a carpark spot through the arch it's free Monday to Saturday for an hour.Thank you for a lovely treat! We'll be back. :)

Brilliant coffee served with a smile! Plenty of seating inside and outside. Very fair prices and a wide selection of snacks

We'd been out and about exloring Lincoln and needed a coffee and a rest just as we were passing Coffee by the Arch so it was a perfect place to stop. We sat in the window watching the world go by while we were drinking very good coffee and resting our feet. It was a comforatable cafe and the the lady serving us was very friendly.

Really friendly welcome. Delicious cakes and superb coffee. And they allowed dogs which is fantastic.

An attractive cafe with some comfortable bench seating and wooden stools by the window for watching the folks go by. We enjoyed a soya milk flat white and an Americano with the only vegan friendly available item, a cranberry and vegan flapjack. The young woman on duty was pleasant and welcoming.

A real treat. The food and drink is wonderful and very reasonably priced. It's a good location a short (level) walk from the Cathedral and well worth the walk too. There are tables inside and out where you can watch the world go by as you enjoy the delicious fare. The cafe owner is very friendly and attentive without being gushy and over the top. The cafe is spotlessly clean, including the toilet. Highly recommended.

Headed up the main path past the arch and found this beautiful coffee place..... Had a great pannini and a coffee. I'll definitely come back when I next come back to Lincoln. Friendly staff a beautiful place to eat :)

I’d been here a couple of times with my husband already but went with a friend today. My friend uses a wheelchair and this place is great as it’s easily accessible (no step). As it was, the sun was out so we sat outside but there was a chill in the air so we were very kindly supplied with blankets to keep us warm. Hospitality and coffee were just brilliant. This is definitely my favourite coffee shop in and around Lincoln.

Been meaning to try this small cafe in the Bailgate area of Lincoln. Friendly staff, nice relaxed atmosphere. Lovely coffee and carrot cake to 'die for'. Good value. Highly recommend.

Coffee by the Arch serves the best coffee available in the Bailgate area. The owner has gone out of her way to make sure that the coffee tastes excellent. The atmosphere is always really friendly. Seating both inside and out with pups welcome. The only reason this is a 4/5 is that the sandwiches are very standard fayre and thus I can’t eat lunch there (dairy free veggie) although I can enjoy a soya-milk based coffee. In short, great coffee, wonderfully friendly and lovely looking cakes/sandwiches.

What a lovely little gem in the Bailgate. We just fancied popping out for a cuppa and cake and had been meaning to try this little cafe for ages.Coffee was beautiful and served in lovely sized cups, cakes were yummy and the staff very friendly

Despite having gone past many times we’d never gone in until today, when as a treat my youngest and I popped in. The Staff were lovely, the coffee and cakes were delicious and the hot chocolate was “mmmm”. They even put his drink in a take away cup when we were ready to go, definitely worth a visit - cosy, friendly and helpful.

Love this cafe, close to Newport Arch and Bailgate shopping area. Immaculately clean and welcoming. Salads so fresh to eat in or handy to take out. Coffee Loyalty card. Selection of Teas. Looking forward to my next visit which I hope will be very soon.
