The best restaurants serving Japanese food in London

We booked the place on the day for table of 6 for my Parents’ anniversary. We were greeted with lovely smiles and they were overall very welcoming and friendly. When we got in, to our surprise, we had a private dining room with its own heater & coat hanger! The room was the right size and had this very Japanese style room. Ko & Alice had an excellent customer service which definitely made my parents’ anniversary special ❤️. We didn’t have to wait long for the food. Quality of the food was good!! They’re so quick responding to our requests aswell (like refill of tap water). Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant! Great food and excellent service! Will definitely be back x

The vibe of the restaurant was just as warm as the staff :) Matsuba offers an authentic Japanese dining experience! The sushi is incredibly fresh, and the other dishes are equally delicious. We booked here for my birthday and the Matsuba team did not disappoint! My and my friends felt so welcome and couldn't help but keep on ordering more dishes that were just as mouth watering. We ate probably more than the average person but we couldn't help ourselves. Notable mentions being the: - Salmon Carpaccio which was torched so nicely that it brought out the subtle smoked flavours without overpowering the quality of the fish. - Geisha Set (33pcs assorted sushi) which was a beautifully presented platter of a variety of fresh fish! - Tempura Mori, the prawns in this were cooked to perfection as the prawns were so juicy and tender. - Matcha Tiramisu (Cake of the day) - although I assume this dish isn't always on the menu, the matcha powder was of high quality and was a harmonious dish to finish our meal on. It was so smooth and creamy and obviously made with a lot of love. Thank you Matsuba Team! Hope to see you again soon <3

I’ve been ordering takeaway for years .. it’s been one of my best local takeaways . But in the last 2 weeks they changed the chicken to a more horrible version which is thick and chewy. I’m now holding off the takeaways until they change it back to how it was before .

I had their chicken karaage rice set, and it tasted just like home 😊🎌 Perfect place for a quick Japanese lunch/dinner!

We love the food and service so much! We have a lunch with “all you can eat” menu. And we found that the food is absolutely amazing! I love the sushi especially the sea bass and the shrimp one! And the sashimi and tempura are brilliant!!! Must Try the shrimp tempura!! Also the seaweed salad as well. Crispy and fresh. Of course the deep fried food such as the pork chop. See the photos and a very good Japanese food in London. Don’t compare with the one in supermarket because this one is real!! We enjoy so much and the staffs are very nice!

Always my go to sushi place 🍣 🍣 stays fresh when late at night when they're closing. 50% discount half an hour before closing definitely is a good deal! 👍

Not my cup of tea. The Udon was nice, but the soup has to many flavors for my taste… I can appreciate the quality, but is just not my thing. Also, I wanted to give 4 stars, but the chicken inside the soup was like a Canned Chicken…

Dinner here did not disappoint. The sushi master is really skilled and the quality is super high. We even ordered more when full because it was so divine. Well priced rolls and also a well priced sake flight menu. Only thing that would make it better would be slightly warmer, dimmer lighting and maybe more traditional Japanese music than the sad piano music. Loved staff and will be back.

the experience was amazing, the food was so quick as always and so yummy but the best part of this experience that made it stand out was the waiter. his name was george. i hope he sees this as he was the nicest, best, friendliest waiter i have ever had and i hope i have him again i will come back to this wagamama just to hopefully have him again. 5 STARS george thank you
