Shoryu Ramen in City of London, Westminster

Discovered by chance and absolutely recommended. Delicious. Polite service. My English wasn't the best, but the waitress really took her time, which helped. 👍 The price is normal. No more expensive than in Germany, for example. The ramen was very good, the gyoza, takoyaki and karaage were really very good. Definitely worth a culinary try! The selection was very good and there was also a menu for children.

Delicious food, excellent service and easy booking experience (we had 7 people and they still managed to accommodate almost last minute upscale to 13 via phone). Highly recommended. If you like spicy go for the Karaka Tan Tan Tonkotsu and add extra peri peri sauce. Special thanks to the staff who are all very nice and very responsive

One of those places which is a "find" it's in the tatty end of Picadilly, it doesn't look very smart, more a cafe. But the food. Wow. Amazing.

The food was good. The place is relatively small but quite cozy. Make reservation in advance unless you want to be seated outside or at a table really close to the door. Also it is suitable if you are eating solo! Bring your book and enjoy your ramen!

We went here because we’ve been to the other locations and love the food and the service. The food was good as always but the service was horrible.. we tried several times to get a waiter to come to our table to order dessert and take our plates and we waited about 30 minutes. Same thing when getting our bill, we made eye contact with the waiters and I asked for the bill three times before someone came over. Would recommend going to a different location

I had dinner at this restaurant on March 5, 2024. During dinner I was robbed of my wallet (video attached) and the only concern of the staff was to not have us call the police by having them arrive in the restaurant. Even dinner was not offered to me after I had no means to pay for it.Apart from this "little thing", the food is really good and if it hadn't been for this episode I would have given it 5 stars.

Really flavorful ramen! We went to get the Final Fantasy event set menu and loved our dishes! We got the dirty lichee cocktail, which was better than we thought I’d be, the tonkotsu ramen, which was creamy and felt so satisfying on a cold day. For desert we got the ice cream, since they were out of mochi unfortunately. Staff were also friendly!

We love this place and their ramen! It's usually very busy and centrally located, so be prepared to wait in line, but it's definitely worth it. Their specialty ramen is super delicious and very thick - a must-try for ramen lovers. The unique tradition of greeting new customers with a drum hit and a phrase in Japanese adds a charming touch, though, unfortunately, we didn't experience this personally despite our inquiries, which was a bit disappointing. Because of this, I'm rating the service 4 stars. Still, I highly recommend the food and overall experience!"

I went today with my kids. When we get to the door , a male staff member was talking to someone and thought he would talk to us after. Instead he finished his conversation with the other guy and went inside closing the door behind. We were waiting , nobody was bothered to attend us. So we went in , still the staff members were chatting to each other as if we don’t exist. I tried to catch their eyes and finally a female staff came with full of negative attitude. She didn’t even ask if we had booked a table. She was telling us that it’s busy and the only place available was out side. We said that’s fine. Then she went on saying, it’s going to rain soon. We said that’s okay. Then she just ignored that and said today is busy , mind you other people were sitting outside. I asked her how long do we have to wait for a table roughly. She kept her negative attitude, telling us she doesn’t know and she doesn’t think it’s possible today. She basically wanted to get rid of us. I believe the other staff member who closed the door on us first told her to say no as well as I saw him saying something to her before she approached us. They are very rude and I think racist as well. Will never go to that place again. I went there for my daughter as she has been there with family friend before. We were humiliated.

Very friendly staff! The ramen was delicious (a little favorite for the curry and chicken broth)! Not too expensive and less crowded than the others. The takoyakis are super good 💕

Rude staff (Giorgia, Isha & Roger). Please retrain staff on customer service. Demanded for table back after 20 minutes because it was reserved. Were ignored for awhile and had to go up to the counter to let them know that we wanted to order. Had to wait 15 minutes (were told it would take 7-8 minutes) for the food to arrive then only had 5 minutes to eat £50 worth of food until the bill was shoved into our face and we were told to pay up and leave. Had two 4 year olds and ordered the kids menu with 3 courses and staff were extremely defensive when we told them that we had barely touched our food and hadn’t even had our deserts yet. Staff blamed us saying that we had to tell them in advance to ask them to bring our deserts and it was not their fault that we hadn’t had the desert yet. (Of course - we had barely eaten our mains!) Staff told us that we had to leave and suggested that we stood to the side for our kids to quickly finish their ice creams. Isha was stressed and got annoyed when we asked to pay separately for the bill as we were 2 different families. Asked for a takeaway box from the manager (Giorgia) as we had tons of food still left to eat but was only given a plastic cup which they serve beer in?!? We had to ask again for a proper food container with a lid. Staff were clearing our plates before we had even finished eating. The manager (Giorgia) was just as rude and kept interrupting and blaming us when we complained. A large group of people finished their food quickly and left so there were empty tables but we were still forced to leave. There were a lot of staff but a lot of them seemed stressed and lacked basic customer service skills. Not kid friendly! Shame as I’ve been to Shoryu multiple times in other branches. Just avoid the Regent street branch.

Hands down the worst Japanese food I've had. The steamed buns are ridiculously small, half the size of a regular steamed bun and the tofu was bland and tasted old. Two of our dishes came out lukewarm and by the time the third arrived (after we reminded them), they were stone cold. The frozen beer was interesting. We were sat one table away from the toilet and right next to the table where the staff were having their break. There are so many much better Japanese places to eat in the area, do yourself a favour and spend your money elsewhere. Even Japan Centre will be a much better choice.

Perfect ramen, great service, feels like Tokyo. Will be back. Thick ramen is top. Gorgeous yuzu sorbet.

Went after a recommendation from a friend and I'm so glad I did! Tha ramen at Shoryu are authentic from Japan, with really taste sauce and ingredients cooked to perfection. I got a spicy ramen and the waitress really explained to me which kind of spiciness should I expect from it - instead of just saying "it's spicy" so it was a nice touch. I had a table for one as a walk-in on a not so busy time in the middle of the day on a Sunday, but reservations are recommended.

Absolutely wonderful food, top quality and freshness. But they are really dreadfully slow. On a quiet day, it took a good 20 minutes to deliver a standard bowl of ramen 😭 Some spark of urgency would help a lot.

Signature Ramen is good. Deserts are not recommended. Service can be improved.

We visited for our Christmas Eve Dinner and it was great. We chose vegan dishes and they were very delicious, the servers were nice and the atmosphere was good and also felt more luxurious than most other ramen restaurants. Would definitely come again!

It was an amazing meal, the best ramen I've ever had. I ordered the spicy natural ramen, and my husband had the pumpkin croquette curry. I would visit here every day if we lived in London.

Très bon ramen ! La version vegan miso blanc était délicieuse. Le bouillon était merveilleux. Monsieur a pris un karaage qui était également très bon ! Nous sommes un peu déçu de l’œuf mis à côté, froid et pas assez mariné, et également des baguettes et de la louche/cuillère en plastique.

Good place for a quick bite. Speedy service and nice hot food. Had chicken boa each and one chicken katsu curry to share. The waitress helped us get plates for sharing even though its not ‘customary’ that they do that.

Delicious food, generous portions, great service. You can order using a QR code on the table which was great and meant that we could place the order in our own time. The food and drinks arrived quickly and the waiters were very efficient, checking on us often and clearing the table of starters and sides plates as they emptied. The ramen portions are also very generous for the price. They also have good vegetarian and vegan options. Would recommend.

I kike Shoryu Ramen. I know that some Ramen experts are not impressed, but I eat Ramen all over the world and I think Shoryu is producing better than average Ramen at a slightly more than average price. But considering the locations, the service and the vibe I think its very good value for money.

Really nice spot for Ramen, have been coming here for multiple years and it always lives up to expectations. I imagine that's how they have managed to expand and open up several new stores. The atmosphere and food feels authentic as a lay person, and it sits in that casual upmarket bracket.

I've been to Shoryu Ramen a few times now, and I've always had a great experience. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. I highly recommend the signature ramen, but everything on the menu is great.

I'm going quite often to this brand of restaurants. But this one is a bit disappointing. The service was not dynamic and really slow. The personnel was not asking for our order, and didn't bring the water unless you chase them for everything. Food is good though. The shoryu ramen of Piccadilly or Kingsley court are more efficient if you need a quick lunch.

Very nice chicken katsu curry and friendly waiters. I went back to have the chicken katsu ramen and I wasn't fully pleased, it was definitely very tasty however not the same katsu curry flavour, still very good food nonetheless.

We had a nice time at Shoryu. Their ramen was exactly what we needed on a long cold day. We managed to book a table the same day a bit in advance so we didn't have to wait to be seated. We tried the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was really good. The broth was very savory and the portion was alright.

Really authentic ramen, good selection and very customisable. One thing I really appreciate about the ramen here is not only the great diversity in the types of ramen but how they ask how you like your noodles cooked. Something that isn't too common but very much appreciated. The broth was flavourful and the accompanying items were very good as well. It is quite small though I will say but very good ramen overall.

I stopped going because I asked and they use MSG in ramen etc. I am blacklisting any restaurants that use MSG in their dishes. This is one of them. There are so many others. Shame because I was a regular and love the food but I no longer trust them I’m afraid

Food is authentic Japanese ramen. But it will be better if customers can be seated once tables are available.

Came in 1h before the end of a happy hour, by myself. Place had a nice atmosphere so I ordered 2 pints of beer (thinking Id stay for longer) and a vegan ramen. I asked the server to bring one after the other. They brought everything at once. Brough was tasteless. Tofu was plain, out of the box, no marinate. Not much veggies, mushrooms... Extra 'orange' egg is just boiled, cold egg. Honestly, it's my first ramen that did not full me. Rather than spreading people across restaurant they started to pack everyone at the window. Iv'e eaten and drank 1 pint in 30 min. Gave away the other. At the payment, I was surprised with 10% service charge that is mentioned no where and it was not deserved. Would not recommend. There are much better places in London.

Have been to this restaurant a few times pre pandemic. Visiting London and looking forward to the yummy ramen we had previously, hence made reservation . However, it is quite disappointing that the soup of the ramen is not hot enough when served. Feedback to the service lady about it after the meal but she is defensive to say that oh there are 6 bowls to be served, by the time they are at the counter and being served, it may have turned cold. I believe this is not how you should take in a feedback.

INCROYABLE. Si vous voulez manger des ramens c’est l’adresse. Il se trouve pas loin du quartier China Town qui propose une multitude de variété asiatique qui laisse à désirer. Ce restaurant en vaut le détour, le personnel est très sympathique. De plus les prix sont abordables pour une ville comme Londres

The vegan white Ramen was really tasty! The noodles were just right and the broth very savory. I added an extra egg because I love the japanese Nitamago in general and I really reccomend it because it upgrades your ramen significantly.

Restaurante muy bueno situado cerca de Picadilly Circus (Una de las paradas más céntricas de metro en Londres, y dedicado a comida japonesa en especial Ramen. Nada más entrar el lugar ya promete, te saludan y son muy amables, nosotros hablamos inglés, pero aun así, dándose cuenta de tu lengua nativa, se adaptaron un poco a nosotros. Los precios son medios, pero las cantidades compensan sin dudar y la calidad que los acompaña es muy buena. La experiencia en el lugar fue un placer y si volvemos repetimos puesto que es lo que más llegamos a disfrutar en el lugar en cuanto a comida y al trato del personal del local. Lugar recomendado sin dudas!

Les plats étaient vraiment excellents, non trop chers pour la qualité des repas, seul bémol dans le service est l'impression de déranger que nous avons ressenti avec ma compagne. Je pense que les serveurs étaient légèrement débordés et cela ne doit pas arriver souvent, je n'estime donc pas cela comme une faute en soi ! Nous n'avons que peu attendu, et le personnel a tout de même fait preuve d'une grande politesse/serviabilité avec nous. Je recommande !

Quickly seated and the main meal delivered. Then ordered dessert, glass of water and coffee. The dessert and water arrived after 20 minutes, the coffee not at all. They were busy, but this was a poor service. The katsu curry chicken ramen is tasty but hot.

Food was great but service was very poor. First, they forgot our drink and we waited for long time and had to remind them. No apologies. We ordered three ramen and two kids meal. Kids meal came quick and ramen took ages. Two kids finished eating and got bored and we were still waiting another 30mins…. Other customer who came after us got their ramen, so we asked one of the staff but she kept saying “it’s coming” and had to wait another 10 or more minutes… No apologies again. I understand this restaurant is busy but the staff was not very helpful. We won’t be going back again. Edit: I sent them email as they asked but not received any reply.

Tuesday, 1.08: Food was good but Service wasnt - we waited quite some time to be seated, even though tables were free but no one communicated anything to us. We had to go forward and ask directly for a table because Service was just passing by as if we didnt exist. Other customers had the same Experience and told us to be very forward because otherwise there was no chance to be served. This turned out to be very true as the Service was really good at avoiding any kind of eye contact through the entire experience, props to that. We had to get ourselves a menu, followed by a lot of unsucessful tries to inform the Service that we want to order - people who came after us were served with ramen before we could even order. No one asked if we want to have any new drinks, even when the place turned empty. Yes, in the beginning it was croweded and only two guys worked in Service but actively ignoring guests shouldnt be the solution.

So far, best ramen in London! We are regular customers since 2018.

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, das zauberhafte Ramen-Restaurant zu besuchen und kann es kaum in Worte fassen, wie begeistert ich bin! Von Anfang bis Ende wurde ich von einem wundervollen Team betreut, das den Begriff "Gastfreundschaft" neu definiert hat. Das Personal war unglaublich freundlich und herzlich, man fühlte sich sofort willkommen und umsorgt. Die Hingabe, mit der sie ihre Arbeit verrichteten, war beeindruckend und trug zu einer warmen und einladenden Atmosphäre bei, die mich sofort in ihren Bann zog. Etwas, das mich besonders berührte, war der Verzicht auf eine Servicegebühr, als ich erwähnte, dass ich nicht genug Kleingeld dabei hatte. Dies zeugt von außergewöhnlicher Großzügigkeit und einem echten Sinn für Kundenwertschätzung. Es zeigt, dass es diesem Restaurant nicht nur ums Geschäft geht, sondern vor allem um das Wohl der Gäste. Und das Essen? Oh mein Gott, es war fantastisch lecker! Die Ramen waren eine Geschmacksexplosion im Mund - perfekt zubereitet und mit Liebe angerichtet. Jeder Bissen war ein Fest für die Sinne und ließ mich die kulinarischen Genüsse Japans in vollen Zügen genießen. Die Erfahrung in diesem Ramen-Restaurant war einfach magisch. Der herzliche Service und der kulinarische Genuss machten meinen Besuch zu einem unvergesslichen Erlebnis. Ich kann dieses Restaurant nur von ganzem Herzen empfehlen

A small/medium size ramen restaurant serving tasty ramen with Abhey providing very good service.

We had the signature Shoryu Ganso Tonkotsu One of the best ramen so far. The broth was super delicious and rich in flavour. Kudos to the chef for delicious food and entire team. 🙏

Great locality and pricing is within its usual standards. Went with an ex colleague after Royal Arts walk through and it was a great little walk to the eatery spot. It was that appealing that my friend had been there already in the prior week 😂 My take was the food quality was good and pricing was reasonable. All I would say is that the seats feel a little too close inside, as it made us feel like people could listen in to conversations on the grapevine. Solid 4/5.

I went to Shoryu during an holiday visit to London with my girlfriend. They prepared to us a really tasty ramen, broth was fantastic and savoury (not too much salty). I chose origin tonkotsu ramen with pork, mushrooms and leek. For appetizer we took chicken bun, cause in monday you can take two of them for only 7£. Total bill 42 £. Highly recommended!!

We were in London for a theatre show and had a tight timeline. We were lucky to get a table at Shoryu, which was packed at 6.45pm. Thankfully they also served us our ramen, within 5 mins of ordering. They were excellent and kept us more than full for the evening and the speed of service allowed us to get to our theatre for the show at 7.30. The service was friendly too although I'd say that the taste of the ramen wasn't quite as good as say that at Ippudo in Charing Cross.

Very friendly welcome only issue was 10 min wait for table even though there was empty tables these were for people that had booked. When we did get table with in a few minutes there was 3 additional free tables that could have catered for any reservation. There was also a table at the back by the toilets that seemed to be getting used by the staff and no one else. It did get to the point that they decided to use all the tables for walk-ins rather than get them to wait. Then they decided to put the reserved sign on 3 of the tables but these were only for couples. So why did we have to wait for a table. Not going to ask. So I have to recommend the Kirin Beer very nice to go with the food. Just don’t expect it to be offered when you need a refill unless you can get the attention of one of the servers. Anyway back to the food. Started with the spicy fried chicken bun. I wasn’t over impressed but the others thought these were very nice. For mains we got spicy katsu chicken mezemen, kimchi ramen, tan tan ramen, pork bone classic ramen and the miso wafu chicken this you must not order as wasn’t the best. Other than this the the atmosphere wasn’t to bad but just could be doing with better service. Also watch where you sit as the table next ordered something that came out on a hot skillet and did spit everywhere even on me on the next table

Il miglior ramen che io abbia mai mangiato. Bella l’atmosfera, molto tipica soprattutto dentro. Noi abbiamo mangiato fuori dove ci sono dei tavolini e si sta molto bene. Disappointing evening. The services was slow and the timing was poor. My starter and main arrived together, a full 15 minutes before the rest of the mains. We ended up eating staggered. The left the desserts on the side so the matcha cheese cake could defrost at the same time as allowing the ice creams scoops to melt. We intervened and still go one frozen cheese cake and one melted ice cream. There was no rice available so a good part of the menu was unavailable. We were only told 5 minutes after ordering that 2 things we’d ordered weren’t available. One of the back ups, a cucumber salad was very poor. A few cucumber slices with some of the macerating seasonings sprinkles on just before being served. A genuine Japanese chef would wince. We asked the services charge to be removed and then we’re asked to explain why. So we did. And then wrote this review. Overall very disappointing.

Had planned for dinner here for a friends birthday and we weren’t allowed to bring our own cake. We even offered to pay some sort of corkage fee, but nothing. I’ve never been to a restaurant with such a ridiculous policy. And they don’t even sell cakes! We asked if we could buy their desserts and were told to go to a cupcake shop around the corner.

Incredible food. The Katsu Ramen is recommended, but the Shoryu signature ramen is amazing too. BBQ pork buns are phenomenal. Washed down with a pint of Kirin nama. Now my must-visit place in London.

L’accueil et le service étaient rapides, le personnel sympa. Les ramen très bonnes ! Je n’ai parcontre pas particulièrement aimé le Mochi. J’ai demandé s’il était fait maison et apparement oui mais par un fournisseur… il y avait une crème très compacte à l’intérieur, je ne m’attendais pas à cela, je n’ai pas vraiment aimé.. De plus, les prix sont un peu excessifs pour les boissons et desserts au vu de la quantité…

Found this place by chance before a theatre visit. Busy but we were seated straight away. We just ordered a selection of the bao buns, wow they are tasty and full of flavour. Good location near piccadilly circus. Will definitely return.

Food was good however as others have pointed out service was terrible. Table next to me served well before me inspire of me ordering at least 10 minutes before. Starter and mail arrived at same time. Was told that it was normal. However both tables either side of me had starter and mains! Excuses and no accountability. Still tried to charge me service!

Chicken katsu curry Ramen is the most popular and it does meet the expectations. The broth is rich and the noodles are perfectly cooked. The meat is juicy and has the right amount of spices.

We went to a bar next door to hear and saw the food people were eating and it looked great so a couple of nights later we decided to try it. You can sit in the little outside courtyard shoryu shares with some other eateries, or you can eat indoor, outside was full so we decided to try for indoor as it was a little cold anyway. We had to stand outside for a bit before someone came to us to see if we wanted toneat inside or out. We were shown to our table, inside wasnt to busy but we waited around 10/15 minutes to have our drinks and food order taken. We chose the katsu curry ramen and the belly pork starter, (read my other reviews, i love belly pork) The pork was nice enough, could of possibly done with more flavouring but was nice. The katsu was unreal... brilliant food, huge amounts, nice and spicy, ( but i did add chilli oil too it) but beautifully presented to... the £13.50 price was amazing for location and amounts Will 100% be back again, the wait is the only thing stopping me giving a 5 star review but food wise... wow

Delicious ramen and great service. If you can make a tasty vegan ramen, then it’s a massive win in my book
