Great food, atmosphere and service could improve a bit. Still, it’s a hidden gem!

Best sushi in town without a doubt. It's a no thrills place but no issue there as the sushi is fresh, wonderful and very reasonably priced. Great for a quick pit stop too. I would definitely recommend.

The best, cleanest, freshest, highest quality we have enjoyed anywhere in the world (haven't visited Japan yet). Our office DOR Architects is about 10minutes walk from here and we get full sushi sets at least once a week.

Not as good as it is to be, quite awful and over priced for tiny rolls. They also gave my a dry crab roll that was so tiny. I was shocked. Go somewhere else plenty other places.

The sushi was so fresh, probably the best sushi i have tried in London.

Super, super fresh fish, fast service. Place is a supermarket with a tiny sitting area. It’s not fancy but then again that’s the charm of the place.

This is one of the best sushi place in London. We have been in for lunch very quiet and the chef is kind and super expert about Japanese kitchen. We have had sushi rolls and sashimi and the details of the flavours and the freshness of the ingredients it's unbelievable . Must try the delicious chef special Rainbow as is the most comfy food I ever tried! We recommend it as the best Japanese sushi in Golders Green.

Food is okay, but they kept missing stuff from the orders and seemed irritated when we called. I work near by but will not be going back here.

The miso soup paste is cheap. Their staff are so welcoming ☺️ Yamaka Sushi Kit is around £4 which is amazing for 2 people. So cheap and perfect for date night.

Fantastic super-fresh, hand made sushi right in front of your eyes. Friendly service and great value. 10/10 highly recommended Their maki and sashimi are amazing and they also have a freezer with loads of products like Mochi and gyozas.

Lovely sushi, fresh and tasty. Great shop as well with Japanese products. There is a great selection of ingredients for Japanese cooking.

We are used to the North Finchley Atariya, which seems better stocked, but was closed yesterday (hopefully not forever). We got some good sashimi here for making sushi rolls at home. There is a basic selection of Japanese food here to choose from.

Perfect place for a sushi Fresh fish

I've actually been going here for years in and off, and it's changed a few times, including being out of commission for a couple of years until comparatively recently. The business model has changed so it's predominantly takeaway, and they get *very* busy doing this. Having said that, I went in in the early evening this evening and stood there for ten minutes, and was flatly ignored. Not made to wait; ignored. The chefs pretended not to see me, and the server kept her back to me almost the entire time, while I waited at the door to ask about the possibility of service. Eventually I took the hint and just left. Food -wise, the quality is perhaps a bit less good than it used to be (although very good), and ambience -wise, the place is a mess now when it used to be very clean and welcoming, because they prioritise take away service. I have no idea if they are currently doing sit-in dining, because, as I say, they found it more convenient to simply pretend I wasn't there and deal with the four tickets they had in front of them than to ask me to wait, or simply say they weren't taking orders. It was bizarre. There was someone else in front of me and they seemed to ignore him too. They do so much delivery business locally that they really don't need your money, and it shows in how they do business. Or, in this case, how they simply don't when it suits them.

Usually excellent, but there must be a new chef as the quality has unfortunately plummeted. Rice starchy and mushy, sushi poorly presented and falling apart, and fish slices small. Hopefully the old chefs return soon...

Delivered lower grade tuna than paid for. Pick up often not ready for pick up time with different clients complaining every week . Staff do not care. Chef with face mask not covering mouth and nose during Tier 4 of pandemic .

Ordered as a special anniversary treat as we didn’t want to venture out to restaurants just yet. The food was delivered by Deliveroo on time and with care. All I had to do was plate it up. It was delicious, beautifully presented and the entire family was impressed. Thanks so much for helping make a memorable evening! Highly recommended!

Tried all the sushi restaurants in Finchley at least once. Liked my take-away from Atari-Ya the best. They charge less for what seems to me better quality. Fatty Tuna well worth trying.

Sushi perfecto. He estado aquí muchas veces y nunca ha sido menos que perfecto. El sushi siempre es excepcional y los domingos, la comida caliente es deliciosa. Es una buena relación calidad-precio y está disponible con un gran servicio. Recomendaría al 100% que comiera aquí para una comida rápida local con familiares o amigos. Puede ser muy ocupado por la noche, así que recomiendo reservar con antelación.

I really don’t see how this supermarket can make any claims or pretensions to being a restaurant. This is a Japanese supermarket with a sushi counter. The food is served in takeaway plastic trays. Tap water is served in a polystyrene cup. As is the miso soup - horrible . And when I asked for low sodium soy sauce they told me I had to buy a 250ml bottle - and then I can keep with with all the others.The food was adequate. The service poor. The ambience like eating in the middle of LIDL. In fact having the eat off the plastic trays is the same as the sushi counter/take away in Sainsbury’s.

Excellent food and lovely service. The place was very busy and there are very few seats but the fresh sushi was incredible. I would recommend getting the sea bass and the eel, both were delicious!

My husband has always been a loyal fan of the budget Japanese chain Eat Tokyo and he can hardly find another one comparable in terms of value for money. With American Express' Shop Small campaign, we decided to try this out with the £13 lunch set. To our surprise, the salmon sashimi and sushi are very fresh and succulent. The small crab salad appetiser is impressive too. My husband even said we can go Eat Tokyo & Atariya alternatively!P.S. The lunch set is available on weekend too

I always went to the one in North Finchley branch, which is excellent so I wanted to try this place out. However, when I asked if they sold fish cakes the cashier proceeded to laugh from her lack of knowledge in Japanese food and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Then when I wanted to pay they ignored me and did their own thing until one of the sushi chefs noticed and told someone to help me, even though there was more than 8 staff in the store and 3 of them not making sushi's, maybe its a discrimination of age because a man who came in with me was greeted and helped by a staff whilst the other two did nothing. As someone working in customer service, this was not the way, it's disappointing because their sushi's are very delicious.so I'm going to stick to the North Finchley branch thanks!

Atari-ya is a sushi factory; busy, quick, delicious. What’s not to like? Phone ahead, order with a specific pick up time - and voila. A small supermarket to top up on bits and pieces of you like. Do ore order otherwise you may end up waiting ages as it is busy!

The sushi here is consistently perfect. It really is just fantastic and I have never made any complaints. Sometimes the manager is a bit annnoying when you ask for more ginger but otherwise I have no complaints

El sushi es decente y el servicio de atención al cliente es muy pobre. He comprado 5 bandejas en las últimas semanas y han referido el establecimiento de vecinos y amigos. Recientemente me pidio tener un recipiente pequeño para empacar los restos de la bandeja para mi almuerzo (son bastante grandes). La mujer en el mostrador dijo que no sabia y me gritó para su colega (básicamente en mi oído). Una mujer vino y no darme un contenedor simple- es una pequeña falta de gesto pero habla volúmenes para el servicio al cliente. Tal vez deberían haber cuidado mejor para sus mejores clientes.

Encontré este japonés sushi bar/supermercado mientras viajábamos en N Circ (Henly's Corner) parado para algunos sushi para llevar, recién hechos, buena calidad y buen precio. También es útil para otros ingredientes de cocina japonesa.

Me encanta el sushi de aquí, ojalá no más ensaladas, pero el sushi es estupendo, el personal es amable y de calidad cuando estaba embarazada me avisaron de lo que estaba congelado y seguro para comer. A mi bebé le encanta su sushi demasiado y siempre cortar la rollos maki en piezas más pequeñas para ella. Sin duda lo recomiendo para llevar almuerzo rápido o si tienes tiempo para comer en el bar no es apropiado si quieres un largo extrae el almuerzo.

Comida para llevar para mí simplemente no funciona ni su forma más simple como siempre quedo decepcionado. Los ansiosos de siempre es mejor que el gusto.

This food shop was located very close to our hotel. This is quite convenient. Food quality was better than it looks from outside. Sushi +small choice of other dishes.Shops are Japanese daily usage goods. I got some snacks and spices. I am more than happy. I love the idea of popping in for a few Japanese groceries and grabbing a quick snack. No fuss, just the counter and the fish and little in-between. As it should be.

My local sushi place, which I have been going there for years! Its one of North London's hidden gems! Amazing sushi/sashimi, which are all displayed & prepared in front of you at a very reasonable price. The staff are all polite and very helpful! In my opinion, as it can get really busy, it's probably best to book a table a day in advance!

Magnificent sushi - superb fish and always fresh and delicious. Have been eating in and getting takeaway for 7 or 8 years and always excellent. Don't be fooled by the ordinary look of the place the food is really really good. Very good value for money.

There is no shortage of sushi restaurants in London but despite many visits to Nobu, Roka and others this remains my favourite for great fresh food, excellent service, authenticity and value for money

A sushi bar in a supermarket. Very fresh and extremely well prepared. Friendly staff. Limited size, only the bar and 2x tables. It can be a good idea to reserve a seat by phone at busy weekend lunch times. Not open after 7pm. Otherwise brilliant. Authentic. This is where the food does the talking not the style of the place.

Being a vegetarian, sushi options are somewhat limited. But I must say, the veg sushi options here were superb! Loved the taste, and the price :) Very friendly little place. You can eat in or take away which I normally do now. Would highly recommend.

within 400 meters of my front doorwe have been using Atari-Ya for many many years nowIts a Japanese supermarket with a little sushi bar and take out service.They are part of a bigger firm and the main shop is a mile or so away in Finchley where they have a great fish counterwe get take out sushi from here once or twice a weekits fairly authentic (but like all sushi places in the UK the rice isn't properly seasoned) and the fish is always very goodits about mid range price wise for sushi but higher than that for qualitywell worth a visit

こちらはレストランというよりも、商店の中に併設された小さなカウンターありの食べ処といった感じでしょうか。。小さな店内を、小さなスーパーと食べるところに分けているので、なんだか雰囲気はパッとしません。。カウンターに数席、小さなハイテーブルが一つほどのスペース。お寿司のネタの味はそれなりによくおいしくは頂けました。カウンター前で握ってくれる方が、パートのような若い女性だったのに、すこし違和感を感じましたが。。あがり（お茶）を頼んだら有料でした。。。イギリスなのでこんなものか、、と思うようにしました。。気軽に食べに行けないお寿司なので、一応美味しかったらOKです。。

they make sushi in front of you ,there is not much chair to seat but you can order and collect it. There is take away but no delivery .it looks like a supermarket and you can buy some special Japanese items.the price for 6 pieces of sushi is around 4 pounds.Here is not open after 7:30 pm.
