I enjoyed my visit today. The food was fresh (and I managed to snag some freshly made tempura!). Good value with the half price Kake Mondays and the 3 for 2 Tempura Tuesday, plus a ten percent student discount. Good vegetarian and vegan options available. Julie provided friendly and quick service behind the till too!

My experience was great, enjoyed the food, very filling and so worth the price! I got the katsu chicken curry, Julie served us she was amazing her hospitality was unmatched. I also liked the food being cooked right in front of me. I recommend joining the Marugame Club for some free tempura!!

Went to the Argyll Street store last Tuesday and tried to order via the self service machine for takeaway. Order failed three times across two cards, but my accounts were debited all three times. Was told to request a refund, but no one picks up the phone or responds to my messages or emails. Shame because the food is always fantastic. Since I can't get in touch with anyone I have to get my money back from my bank directly.

I ordered a chicken teriyaki and the dish quality was below average and didn't meet the value that i paid for 15£. The place smells all over deep fried oil and is not a pleasant environment to have even a casual dinner. Overall not a good experience.

I had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Oxford Circus brand. One of the Asian waitresses provided aggressively horrible service. When I tried to order from the kids' menu for my two-year-old, she questioned where the child was, implying I couldn't order from that menu. After clarifying, she continued to display impatience while I looked at the menu and placed my order. What was most appalling was her lack of professionalism. Instead of addressing the situation respectfully, she turned to her colleague and appeared to mock me. This level of service is unacceptable, and it deeply tarnished what should have been an enjoyable dining experience. Management should address these issues promptly to ensure other customers do not encounter similar treatment.

Bland cafeteria style food. There are so many great japanese places in London and this isn’t one of them. Tempura sits out so it’s cold and not great. Broth not flavourful and udon claim to be fresh but aren’t great. Fine if you’re in a rush but overpriced for what it is.

I love the chicken paitan here. Staffs are super friendly. My favourite place to have a noodles.

I often come to the Oxford Circus branch as its a good value, spacious option to grab a bowl of udon. Alot of Japanese noodle bars in London are tiny so not that pram/baby friendly. The staff were super helpful with getting me a highchair and parking my pram away.

Argyll Street , London 1530 hour: my second visit on insistence of wife. experience spoilt totally by being overcharged by young lady at the till despite me trying to explain that the selection was off the menu . very difficult attitude, just not bothering to understand. This was later rectified by the young manager who accepted the error & refunded the difference, also added a free drink. It was a warm day and the ice machine also not working. I was so upset at the whole incident & difficult attitude of the individual that forgot to help myself to condiments counter until late. by that time had finished 75% of my food. not visiting again. improve your service MU so customers can enjoy and treated properly!!

A good chain udon! they have a nice menu and everything is made in front of you. I like that they make their udon the traditional way. The tofu tasted absolutely nothing like tofu. it only looked like it from the outside but on the inside it just like some kind of bread? so very bad tofu definitely dont get that but everything else was delicious! Also! there are mostly 3 option sizes available for all dishes but for some theres just regular and large. but they are all. huge. we all got regular portions and could not finish it.

6/4/24 to be honest, the building was nice so that's why I ate here. If the building looks nice I assume the food is to, and it was. I don't like spice and this isn't my normal food soo yeah, it was good though. Also gender neutral bathrooms, it's a win people!

I was on a business trip and really wanted to eat Japanese food, so I came here. Is there no kettle-fried udon? So, for the udon noodles. Tempura and fried food are expensive in one piece! I couldn't help it, but I was hungry, so I had a hearty meal. Udon is a little soft. The zucchini tempura was delicious. The kakiage was soggy, so if you like tempura, I recommend something else. But overall, it's delicious, and although it's a little pricey at this low yen, if it's a eat-in in the middle of London and it's within this price, then it's good! Thank you for the meal.

Disclaimer: Only giving it to this store due to the bad experience I had on Sunday, and to be honest, was partly my fault, as I should've questioned that. Food was alright. Im bringing down the rating purely because I felt I got swindled with the extra salad. Ordered a chicken paitan udon, then the server asked me if I wanted extra salad, which was unusual but I said fine. It was a small bowl like a condiment bowl with peppers, carrots and beans. When I paid, it was an extra £2.65 for that!! I was too hungry and to be honest, I needed some greens so I paid. I think its cheeky for them to offer it when I didn't even see it on the menu, let alone the price of it. If you are reading this, make sure you let your customers know that it's an extra instead of cheekily trying to slide it into the order.

You get the food very quickly but it tastes bland, the chicken wasnt cooked well and the drinks are luke warm and without gas. Would not recommend.

What's more, we were pleasantly surprised by the affordability of this gem nestled in the heart of London. Without a doubt, Marugame Udon will be a must-visit for us on our next trip to London. A special shoutout to Julie for her assistance in opening the Ramune bottle, adding a touch of personalized service to our dining experience. Arigato gozaimasu!

Good and affordable meal in London . Clean area and lots of option. Small dish is enough and there are so many condiments that you can dress on your bowl .

Overall, my dining experience at marugame udon was nothing short of a disappointment. Poor portion sizes coupled with sky-high prices make it a place I won't be returning to anytime soon. After ordering a large teriyaki chicken bowl, I was presented with 3 small chunks of chicken, which together, was no more than half of a small chicken thigh. Save your money and your appetite for a restaurant that values both quality and quantity.

We were spoilt for choice to feed ourselves before the show at the London Paladium. However, we were so disappointed that we decided to eat here. We both had the vegetarian option. The dish was bland and had little taste. The toffu was cold and in hindsight we should have sent it back. It was not cheap. Reviews I've read have used a comparison with other fast food outlets. Not convinced with that at all. So, perhaps it was an off night, it was certainly busy. But would I rush back. Definitely not.

Ordered a large chicken teriyaki meal for takeaway. Just opened lid and only contains 2 small pieces of chicken and the rest of pot is rice. The worst spent £12.45 ever.

Dan helped us and he was very welcoming, kind and generous with food portions. I would definitely recommend this place to others coming by this area.
