Eat Tokyo in Soho is a great spot for authentic Japanese food at reasonable prices. The sushi is fresh, portions are generous, and the menu has loads of variety—from bento boxes to donburi and ramen. It has a casual, no-frills vibe, and service is quick and efficient. A solid choice if you’re craving Japanese food in central London!

The food was really good and service was fast! However, the menu is quite large, which made it a bit overwhelming to choose. We had a lot of questions before ordering because of the variety, maybe simplifying or organizing it more would help future guests. Still, a tasty experience overall! 🍱❤️

After eating here I vomitted. The food made me feel extremely nauseous afterwards, the food was also very underwhelming and quite cold. I also want to point out that the service was horrible, this is by far the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waiters didn’t greet me, didn’t respond to me, and had bad energy the whole time, specifically the South Asian woman and South Asian Male. I was not given tap water even though I asked for it twice and felt forced to purchase a drink instead. Overrated place.

The Indian female waiter made me feel so uncomfortable. She was grinning at me throughout the whole time and was rolling her eyes whenever I’d raise my hand up to ask for her service. I asked for tap water and it never came, I asked her again a while after and she responded rudely and still never gave me the water. I felt extremely sick after my meal and I suspect she did something to my food.

DO NOT GO HERE! I went to the restroom and saw what looked like a rat or mouse. I was disgusted and cancelled my order and left. Absolutely disgusting! The customer service here is a joke. We were told to wait for half an hour so we did, we were then designated to a table by one of the waiters. Once we sat down a different waiter came and yelled at us telling us to get out of that table. I dont see why you cannot speak to your customers with respect, this is clearly a mistake on your behalf too. Not only this, but the same waiter was kissing their teeth at us several times and had an unwelcoming attitude the whole time they served us. Not only did the waiters attitude stink, but so did their breath. I suggest you tell your staff to improve their hygiene, respectfully. We will never be returning to this horrible place. The waiter was a indian woman btw

A great place in London selling reasonably priced, large portions of Japanese food. As with other reviews, you have to be prepared to queue outside, we waited for around 30 minutes at 12.30pm for a table for two. However once inside the staff are working hard to serve everyone. My partner ordered the salmon bento box and I ordered the regular sized chicken katsu curry. It was huge, although mainly consisting of sauce and rice the portion was more than big enough for one person. However, the restaurant lost a star as my curry and rice came out cold. We asked the staff to bring a fresh plate, which they did, which was much hotter, however it meant a wait and that we weren't eating at the same time. Also, they add a 12.5% service charge automatically, which I dislike. It should be up to you how much you tip. However this is optional, so you can ask for it to be removed. Overall, a few issues to iron out, but for the price I would definitely visit again.

I’ve been here more than a dozen times, and it’s usually amazing service and food, but today was absolutely horrible! My mum and I were served some soup as a starter which is fine, but we asked for spoons and the server just nodded and forgot to bring us any. Then after 15 minutes, my mum’s bento box was served, but mine wasn’t. I waited 20 minutes for mine, and my mum was already finished with her food for a while. The server finally came by and we told her my food wasn’t served yet. She nodded again and left, so I thought she was getting my food or coming back to give me an update. No, she just went back to cleaning tables and serving other people. I had to ask a different server about my food for it to be served. The tables around me had a similar experience, where only one person was served their food and the other people had to wait 20 minutes. Another table asked for two sushi rolls but only got one, but since they waited for so long, they didn’t want the second roll any more. We were seated in the area where you have to go up some steps, so maybe that’s why the service was so bad, because I never had such bad service sitting in the other areas.

Lovely food, but average. Waited an hour to be seated from 5pm on a Saturday which wasn’t bad at all, but we were about 10th in the queue. Normally I see queues far bigger, more than triple that the queue we were in so to wait any longer for this place is not worth it. Service was lovely. Food is nice. Highly recommend the pumpkin croquettes! Best thing we ate here. Also got Yakitori which had a nice sauce. Chicken Gyozas are very average. Bento boxes are large portions. I think I got B5, however maybe be wrong. Entire bill came to just under £40. If you can get eat without having to wait in a queue then I think this is a good eat, but if you’re waiting anywhere longer than an hour I fear this is not worth it at all.

One of the definitive cheap eats in Chinatown. Portions are very large and for a very good price. The flavour is there too with everything we ate tasting great and everything made with good quality meat. There is quite a large menu with lots of variety so would recommend going with a group of people to try out different things. I had the pork katsu don which came with two large pork cutlets covered with egg and a delicious savory sauce - all for less than £12! Their bento boxes are also massive so great for trying a few things in one dish. Dining date 27/02/2025 4 pm (reserve 6 tables) The food quality is very good, and it is handled by Japanese chefs, so the taste is similar to Japanese style, and there are not many changes to cater to local tastes, so the price is also very reasonable. The most unreasonable thing is that the portions of curry rice and ramen are a bit scary. The larger portions of rice and noodles can be shared by 3 girls. If you order a lot of other food, order a rice/noodle 4-5 It's OK for girls to share, but the noodles are delicious, but the soup base is a bit bland and not flavorful enough. The pork is in the form of Cantonese roasted pork, not Japanese barbecued pork, and the eggs behind it are not runny eggs at all. Quite a lot and great value for money. The tempura bento is also quite tasty. The tempura fried oysters are also better than I expected. All the tempura food is not greasy at all. In addition, the portions of the fried squid are quite big and the wine pairing is excellent. It is recommended that if there are more people to eat, you can place the order in two separate times. Because the countertop is relatively thin, the food is served very quickly. You can’t put too much food in one time. If you order it in two times, you can eat it slowly. It is recommended that you try Japanese food. This room! Even if I look back, I will look back

We came here on a Monday evening and were seated quickly. Our waiter took our orders, we were served our drinks and miso soup and then it was a good 30min that nothing happened and no other food was served, whilst the people around us, who arrived later, were finishing up eating. Our waiter seemed to think it’s normal that we were there at an empty table. Eventually we asked him for an update on our food order and it turned out that “the ticket was lost”. He offered us some overly frozen mochis for the extra wait. They were not edible as rock hard and frozen. The bento boxes arrived shortly after and they were very very good. We had the chicken katsu. So whilst the food was very good, the service was below standard for me. Plus, you get charged a service fee. (In our case, it wasn’t clear what that was for but well…)

I have enjoyed eating at Eat Tokyo for many years but today my experience there has possibly put me off forever. We were welcomed warmly at the door and I assumed we were in for the usual enjoyable time. Our miso soup arrived soon after ordering and my friend’s chicken teriyaki arrived soon after that. After fifteen minutes, my sushi/sashimi had not appeared and when we asked where it was we were told that sushi takes a long time. Ten minutes later two waiters and came along and said they had given my sushi/sashimi to another customer by mistake and they were getting mine now but it would take 30 minutes to come. When I protested, the manager came along and said it would just be a few minutes and three minutes later, he produced a plate of hurriedly assembled fish. My friend had finished her chicken long before I got to eat my food. I have recommended this place to many friends but I shan’t any more and I’m not sure if I’ll come back to eat here myself. This makes me very sad. I am also shocked that they did not make even a small token gesture by way of saying sorry.

They have a few locations but I think this may be the best one. Very generous portions and quite filling too. Authentic Japanesee restaurant, Tuesday at 4pm was very busy, recommend booking beforehand. They have massive menu you will definetly find something for yourself but it will take you a while! Everything came very fast, food was delicious and very fresh. Bento Boxes are great for the price there is a lot in it. Sushi was so tasty!

Everything we ordered was delicious, some waitresses dressed in traditional costumes and, the best, the waiters who served us were Shuhei and Nipun. They were very kind, helpful and patient 😉. Out of 10 for them

Less stars as to them serving me STINKY UNAGI BENTO! bro why? Such a let down ! Served me stale unagi with pungent fishy taste . When addressing this i was served another one but was bit raw though it was not fishy ! Also, Seating needs to be re arranged to begin with ! !!! Yes food is cheaper in comparison to other jap restaurants other than that never ordering UNAGI ! 🤮gave life time trauma ! silly sausages cant you think your customers are fool ! Do not order ramen and unagi (eel) here!!!

Amazing food and service. This is a hidden gem in the area. The sashimi salad was refreshing and contained quite a lot of sashimi too. The udon noodles were bouncy and the sushi were good too.

Très bons sushis Peu de places assises donc il vaut mieux arriver tôt sans réservation La qualité et la fraîcheur des sushis sont parfaites Prix corrects pour Londres
