Went here today. Giant katsu curry for two people. Ate there on an empty stomach and was a struggle to eat my half. I'm a hungry eater and can easily eat double portions of most meals, but this was a challange. Couldn't imagine eating it on my own. Double Chicken Curry was £11.50, and we got a £2.80 drink to share, so all in all £16 (12.5% service charge) So like £8 per person. In central london for hot fast food in a restaurant to get full. The queue to get seated was quiet long (felt like 20 mins, like 4-10 people in front of you waiting), especially in peak times, but defo worth it because food arrives quick and service is very attentive and fast.

The food was disappointing. What was particularly upsetting, however, was the blatant racial discrimination I experienced. While staff warmly greeted other customers with smiles, thank yous, and goodbyes, they completely ignored me, even when I proactively said goodbye to them. They are quite impatient and indifferent. Such an awful experience😡

The food at Eat Tokyo has always been great for the price. It’s no surprise there’s usually a long queue outside; and until recently, it always felt worth the wait. On our latest visit, we queued for about 30 minutes before the restaurant opened. As usual, we were excited to order from their extensive menu. The food didn’t disappoint — we had a lovely time chatting and enjoying the meal. Unfortunately, we found a strand of hair under the rice. We felt it was important to let the staff know, not to complain, but to ensure it didn’t happen to other customers. Disappointingly, the response lacked sincerity; the apology felt more like a formality than genuine concern. We’ve been loyal customers and regularly visit Soho on weekends, often choosing Eat Tokyo. But after this incident, we’ve decided that was probably our last visit. If you do choose to eat here, I’d recommend checking your food before digging in, just in case there are other unexpected surprises.

Food was superb and the service was very good. The restaurant though was very loud however considering its Soho on a Saturday night loud is to be expected. The food was absolutely delicious, you have a large menu and lots of choice, and everything seemed very reasonably priced! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Downsides were, having to queue for 25 mins to get a table, very slow to take order and for food to arrive, washrooms that needed to be better maintained. Dietary restrictions not necessarily catered to; a lot of the sushi contained eel which not everyone can eat. Miso soup wasn’t as hot when served. Interior is basic and a bit outdated. They do add a service charge automatically, but you can ask for that to be removed if you like.

Ubicación BOND STREET - Horrible, no volverá.

By awarding 1 star it implies that they did something well, they didn't. Where do I start? * Eat Tokyo are known for their sushi, but I wasn't expecting raw chicken. * We were a party of 4, but after ordering, 3 meals came and then the unlucky fourth was told they had run out of their dish. * The men's bathroom had no running water, but don't worry, you could go behind the counter to wash your hands. This place needs shutting down.

Our first time trying the place, we went with a friend who was a regular customer, we were served first half of our order quite quick, the food was absolutely tasty and we were satisfied. HOWEVER, the kitchen team seemed to miss the other half orders, we waited for 30mins, asked the staffs 3 times and it took them 15 more mins to handle the situation, but ridiculously, our foods somehow went missing again! It was until we wanted to cancel the order, the manager came talking to us, the foods were then arrived in just 5mins, so it was obvious that our orders were missed. As a person who also work in hospitality, I saw a serious communication problem within the team, totally inconsistent! Please improve it or else, you will loose a lot of customers, especially regular customers.

i usually always come here!! it’s a nice place and i enjoy eating here. the prices are well and the food tastes nice. overtime, their customer service has gotten really bad. when i first went here for dinner, the service was really nice. (this was years ago). i went recently and it’s gotten pretty bad:(. honestly, there’s this man who has black hair (straight) and kinda brushed to the side , lightish brown skintone, and maybe around 5’6? he’s insanely rude. almost everytime i come in here he’s either moody, getting angry at someone or is very pissy. which ruins the mood because his behaviour is very poor. other then that everything is nice here. a worker there whose name is Kim is very nice! kim greets us with a warm friendly smile and makes sure that everything is great. the man who i mentioned who is grumpy all the time needs to maybe learn some manners when dealing with customers…!!! the food is nice here. but the man’s attitude put me off my appetite. :P

DO NOT EAT HERE. This restaurant adds a 13% service charge to your bill, and not a single penny goes to the staff. Management keeps the entire amount for themselves. This is misleading, unethical, and potentially illegal. Customers are led to believe they’re tipping the people who serve them the ones actually doing the work but that money never reaches them. It’s a blatant exploitation of both guests and staff, and it shows a complete lack of integrity. Support places that are honest and treat their team with respect. This isn’t one of them.

After eating here I vomitted. The food made me feel extremely nauseous afterwards, the food was also very underwhelming and quite cold. I also want to point out that the service was horrible, this is by far the worst service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The waiters didn’t greet me, didn’t respond to me, and had bad energy the whole time, specifically the South Asian woman and South Asian Male. I was not given tap water even though I asked for it twice and felt forced to purchase a drink instead. Overrated place.

The customer service here is a joke. We were told to wait for half an hour so we did, we were then designated to a table by one of the waiters. Once we sat down a different waiter came and yelled at us telling us to get out of that table. I dont see why you cannot speak to your customers with respect, this is clearly a mistake on your behalf too. Not only this, but the same waiter was kissing their teeth at us several times and had an unwelcoming attitude the whole time they served us. Not only did the waiters attitude stink, but so did their breath. I suggest you tell your staff to improve their hygiene, respectfully. We will never be returning to this horrible place. A great place in London selling reasonably priced, large portions of Japanese food. As with other reviews, you have to be prepared to queue outside, we waited for around 30 minutes at 12.30pm for a table for two. However once inside the staff are working hard to serve everyone. My partner ordered the salmon bento box and I ordered the regular sized chicken katsu curry. It was huge, although mainly consisting of sauce and rice the portion was more than big enough for one person. However, the restaurant lost a star as my curry and rice came out cold. We asked the staff to bring a fresh plate, which they did, which was much hotter, however it meant a wait and that we weren't eating at the same time. Also, they add a 12.5% service charge automatically, which I dislike. It should be up to you how much you tip. However this is optional, so you can ask for it to be removed. Overall, a few issues to iron out, but for the price I would definitely visit again.

I’ve been here more than a dozen times, and it’s usually amazing service and food, but today was absolutely horrible! My mum and I were served some soup as a starter which is fine, but we asked for spoons and the server just nodded and forgot to bring us any. Then after 15 minutes, my mum’s bento box was served, but mine wasn’t. I waited 20 minutes for mine, and my mum was already finished with her food for a while. The server finally came by and we told her my food wasn’t served yet. She nodded again and left, so I thought she was getting my food or coming back to give me an update. No, she just went back to cleaning tables and serving other people. I had to ask a different server about my food for it to be served. The tables around me had a similar experience, where only one person was served their food and the other people had to wait 20 minutes. Another table asked for two sushi rolls but only got one, but since they waited for so long, they didn’t want the second roll any more. We were seated in the area where you have to go up some steps, so maybe that’s why the service was so bad, because I never had such bad service sitting in the other areas.

Dining date 27/02/2025 4 pm (reserve 6 tables) The food quality is very good, and it is handled by Japanese chefs, so the taste is similar to Japanese style, and there are not many changes to cater to local tastes, so the price is also very reasonable. The most unreasonable thing is that the portions of curry rice and ramen are a bit scary. The larger portions of rice and noodles can be shared by 3 girls. If you order a lot of other food, order a rice/noodle 4-5 It's OK for girls to share, but the noodles are delicious, but the soup base is a bit bland and not flavorful enough. The pork is in the form of Cantonese roasted pork, not Japanese barbecued pork, and the eggs behind it are not runny eggs at all. Quite a lot and great value for money. The tempura bento is also quite tasty. The tempura fried oysters are also better than I expected. All the tempura food is not greasy at all. In addition, the portions of the fried squid are quite big and the wine pairing is excellent. It is recommended that if there are more people to eat, you can place the order in two separate times. Because the countertop is relatively thin, the food is served very quickly. You can’t put too much food in one time. If you order it in two times, you can eat it slowly. It is recommended that you try Japanese food. This room! Even if I look back, I will look back

Great food , great service. Usually a line outside. Wont be a line if you go in late an hour before closing like we did. Recommended.

My fave Japanese place, sometimes the service is a bit off, but hey, they're usually super busy.

Customers' tastes may vary, but my subjective evaluation of the taste of the food seems a bit exaggerated. It was an ordinary ramen, and I would not visit again. I visited during lunch time, but there were no customers except for me. I ordered ramen and rice bowl and paid 38 pounds. I asked about the price of the soup refill, but there were some uncomfortable situations, such as them insisting that I ordered a refill that I did not order. I paid the fee, but I am dissatisfied with the service. It is difficult to judge the local prices, so additional information is needed. In addition to the 12.5% stamped on the receipt!! I paid the service charge separately (I chose it because they asked me to), and I think it is a bit excessive to ask for a review. Asking for a review despite paying the service charge can be misunderstood as a marketing strategy. (Yeah~ I will never go there again~ It was a review scam^-^ㅋㅋ Where did the female employee with her hair tied up have a conscienceㅋㅋ I really swore at her, but ugh..)

Extremely disappointed in the ramen. First time ever experienced ramen soup that’s warm not hot and the tofu was warm on the surface and cold in the inside. That’s a disgrace. The saving grace was when I relayed the complaint to the server at getting the check, she on her own waived the cost of the mushroom ramen of my friend and only charged my pork bone soup ramen. But I’d not return.

I had a genuinely shocking experience at Wagamama Marlborough yesterday. I ordered the lighter chicken broth noodle soup, expecting a comforting, clear bone broth that had been simmered for hours — the kind of thing that feels nourishing and subtle. Instead, what I got was literally just water with flavouring. It tasted like an MSG-heavy stock cube dissolved in hot water, with none of the depth or care you'd expect. It was so disappointing — actually shocking — that I forgot to even ask for a refund. I've been a fan of Wagamama since 2006, but this really felt like the end of the road. There are now so many better places to get a proper light chicken soup — Pho, for example, actually understand broth. Wagamama can't even get a simple light chicken broth right anymore. Never again will I waste money here.
