Popped in here for lunch on a Friday afternoon expecting an average Italian meal. Wow the food was amazing. Great Caprese salad. The spaghetti alla vongole was superb too. The tiramisu was also exceptional. We just got back from a 4 day trip to Rome and honestly this food was better than anything we had there. Great family run business and great service too. Definitely coming back when we visit Southport again. Better than 5 stars.

Had an early Mother's Day meal with my son and daughter. They catered for mine and my daughter's special dietary requirements as the food is made from scratch. Fantastic service and excellent food. The best meal out I've had in a long time.

We’re regular lunchtime visitors. All the food is excellent and the baked potatoes are the best I’ve ever had. Delicious fillings and skin lovely and crispy. The wraps are superb as well and very substantial. The dishes come with a lovely side salad, sweet chilli dip and coleslaw. Night time menu is also excellent and highly recommend the meatballs. Our boys love the pizzas. BYOB is a bonus as well. Great service, great food and great staff. Can’t recommend highly enough.

I love this restaurant. I remember visiting when it opened and the prices were low with large portions. The prices have risen, but tje quality of the food is great. The staff have always been lovely without exception. So happy to see the restaurant flourish and for all the hard work and experience to be rewarded. I'll save up one day for the chateaubriand or the tomahawk steak

I've been going to Maray for years and I've become increasing disappointed each time I go. The portion sizes get smaller and smaller and the prices get bigger and bigger. This time the quality was lower. Hummus chips used to be lovely skin hand cut wedges, now they're just like frozen chips. Sweet potato was undercooked and bland. Sea bass was also bland and too salty. When the fried chicken came I was shocked at the portion size. Three tiny goujon shaped pieces for over £10. You used to get a decent pile of it. It was also not as crispy as it used to be. The sharing mezze was tasty but at £20.25 you'd expect bread to be included to dip into the mezze but no, we were upsold 3 pittas at £2.75 each, so for £28.50, the mezze and bread was not worth the price. The wine was really lovely though and the atmosphere sat outside looking over the docks felt very special. Staff were friendly and pleasant though as we were outside perhaps not as attentive as they could have been. I won't be rushing back and if they carry on the way they're going with expansion at the expense of their quality then it'll basically be like La Tasca and look what happened to them.
