Rudy's Albert Dock in Liverpool

We are coming for the second time in a week, the taste of the food we ate was very different. They tried to change the product on the menu and serve it themselves. We ordered lamb skewers but they brought us meatballs. How can this be when there is not even meatballs on the menu? And our waiter did not tell us this when we ordered, and when the food came to the table she said we changed it, what a ridiculous and unacceptable! Then when our bill came, I told the waitress that the meatballs were available 2 weeks ago, but they are no longer on the menu. So I wonder if those meatballs were the meatballs I had 2 weeks ago!!!! And they did not remove the products we returned from our invoice, and on top of that, they insisted on charging a service fee when we were not satisfied. The service was very slow and indifferent.

First visit to Maray and hopefully not the last! Lovely atmosphere down on the docks. Server was really helpful in recommending dishes- all of which were so flavoursome. Favourite was the Broccoli with Coconut and Disco Cauliflower. Thank you Maray!

Before any Beatles Magical Mystery Tour, dine at Maray. Surprisingly informative and warm service (at a busy lunchtime spot). Food and cocktaIls are fun with plenty of vegetarian options. Typically hate the small plates you must have four each - but Maray has a lovely falafel sharing option that suits two smaller appetites. Had to have the Maray Negroni, while alcohol light it was a tasty libation!

While the staff were very attentive and the place lovely, the food was unfortunately bland and meat raw and chewy. The food was rather expensive for what it was and there was not a lot of it.

Had trouble booking on their site so wandered over to see if I could get in. Only option was to sit outside but so glad I did. Food was incredible, and service top notch. Book in advance, but definitely go if you like tapas style food.

My vegan food was ok, nothing to write home about. The meat eaters seemed to enjoy theirs though. Good cocktail and nice wine, and great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and helpful until we asked to take the service charge off the bill as we all had cash and would have preferred to leave a cash tip. This was met with a glare and a sigh as our server went away to get it taken off the bill. When she returned with the bill, she slammed it down onto the table without making eye contact and walked away. Obviously we did not leave a cash tip, and will not be returning if that’s how we’re treated…

Booked the upstairs room for my 40th Birthday! Great food, attentive staff and worked perfectly for the occasion with a great view out onto Albert Dock. Highly recommend

Great restaurant, very busy but they made room for us, staff were friendly and food was absolutely delicious.

Very average food, Above average prices I understand this restaurant has a great dockside location with nice views (if you are lucky enough to be seated by the window). The style/structure of the building and windows means that unless you are sat on the one table upstairs by the window, you don't really get much of a view. The food is small plates/tapas style and we ordered a range of different dishes. We were recommended 2-3 dishes each which we found enough for us. I would recommend the cauliflower however I will say that it was (along with every other dish we ordered) very salty. I think some might mistake this for flavourful but I genuinely don't think a lot of it was edible without the pita bread (which we ended up ordering more of). The bread was £2 per piece which seems like a set up in a way as you go through more than expected! The drinks were alright, nothing special and prices were about right for a restaurant in a city. The timing of the dishes could've been a little better as I found the order a bit random as some plates didn't go with each other. Instead of a slow bit continuous bringing out of our order it seemed sporadic and poorly thought out. They also missed a dish off our order which we ended up asking them not to bring out as by then we had ordered and received our extra bread we needed to finish the dishes that had arrived. The chocolate tart was lovely but the baklava cheesecake was a bit to sweet and rich for my tastes. Staff were nice and our waiter had a great personality (as well as the girl who kindly went to go find us in the bar next door while we waited for our table) however they seem to be understaffed and under a lot of time pressure/stress. The place, cutlery and glassware were all very clean and decor seemed minimal. I would suggest investing in a better extractor fan for the kitchen as the smell of the oven stuck to our clothes and the air seemed to be thick with smells from the kitchen. Overall we paid over £124 for 4 people including alcoholic drinks and I can't help but feel that it could have been spent on a much better experience elsewhere.

Can not praise the people at Maray enough, so tentive and supporting, Sara was amazing at a time my friends and I needed. The food was tasty, hot and great on the eye, would 100% suggest anyone going to Liverpool you need to visit.

Fantastic as always. We had a lovely family birthday lunch. Everything was perfect - food, service and atmos. You are our favourite restaurant in Liverpool. We’ll be back soon.

Delicious! We had the seabass, the steak and the lamb, as well spiced rice and lentils. They all had a nice punch and an explosion of flavours. The one let down was the baba ghanouj, I don’t recommend it as it was sour and tasteless. But I would gladly come back for more of these hot dishes!!! Service was kind and cheerful, too.

Food was off the charts, as was the wine and beer on draft. The new General Manager was a dream. Couldn’t recommend the place more - will be back next time in Liverpool.

The waitress was so friendly, I had heart burn before I went into dine. The waitress advised me to have lemon ginger tea it worked and I went on to enjoy meal.

What a fabulous place to enjoy a spot of dinner after a day sightseeing. Very friendly greeting on entering quickly shown to a table then drinks followed. Good menu choice and I must say the Pizza I had was the best I have had for a very long while. Thank you to Kyle and the rest of the team for the great service.

Fantastic pizza and a great atmosphere. Our server was very good and we had a nice view of the Albert Dock. Would definately return and am looking forward to trying Rudys closer to home.

Maray is one of the best places to eat in Liverpool - incredible food, the fried chicken is absolutely superb. Highly recommended.

It was so nice to see young motivated staff working brilliantly as a team. They were all buzzing and we were blown away by their friendliness, delicious pizzas and value for money. We were offred drinks as soon as we sat down and the food came shortly afterwards. An amazing experience. It's a shame we live so far away in Dorset but we will return.

Maray manages that difficult trick of balancing a laid-back vibe with incredible efficiency behind the scenes with ease. The food is absolutely top-notch and we explored a table of dishes that were a delight to the senses. The view across Albert Dock is amazing as the sun sets but it is the staff who truly bring the magic. They are efficient, knowledgeable and charming with plenty of tips on how the get the best from the menu. One of the best evenings I've had in years. Thank you.

Lovely afternoon at Maray Albert Dock's. Nice spot on the docks looking out at the water. All the dishes we ordered were a generous size and delicious. Such a great selection of veggie options. Would definitely recommend.

Food was really good with most dishes being vegetarian (which were actually tastier than the meat dish we tried). Plates were fairly small, which is good to share and try many different dishes. We went on a Sunday which was fairly quiet but would recommend to book in advance if you’re going on Friday/Saturday.

We were going to book a table online (Friday night) but I was completely turned off when they wanted my credit card details for the booking. Never had any restaurant do that before?So instead we physically popped in and booked a table for that evening without any problem (or credit card request). Had dinner for two. The waitress recommended we order 5-6 dishes between 2 and encouraged us to order 3 mains, then said we needed another pitta togo withthe dips (tuemrns out we definately did not). We ordered 6 dishes, 3 mains, 3 sides, plus olives. We are reasonably big eaters but definately over ordered. We also found that we had doubled up on things which already came with the shared plate. We ordered falafel share plate (Delish!) We need not then ordered the Fattoush as a side (already had it on the plate), and same applied to the hot dips and pickles, in this came a green dip called zhug - that was horrible. Bitter and zero flavour. The sea bass in red lentil and ciconut, fennel and peas was very good, the rump steak with Spinach, ras el hanout peppercorn sauce I would not bother with again. It was small as you would expect but failed mainly on the sauce. If I were to order that meal again.. I should have gone for 2 shared plates of Falafel plus one side of hommus and that would have been more than enough and maybe even had room for a dessert. Dinner for two, plus 3 glasses of wine plus the 10% tip they include on your bill in advance for you, and offer that you can remove if you choose, (at least they are transparant) came to £95 which I thought was a bit pricey. I WOULD eat here again as the flavours were completely there on the majority of dishes and I liked the venue, the menu and the friendly staff. I think something was wrong with the zhug...wrong herb used by accident or something as I eat most things but this was really unpalatable. Over all would love to work my way through the whole menu and will return again. So I do recommend you try this place!

Had the pleasure of dining in the Allerton & Bold Street venues and enjoyed every visit. Unfortunately, the Dock Side restaurant doesn’t offer the same kind of service, quality and portion’s are not the same, one of the small plates was uneditable. Maybe it was a one off and maybe because it was Valentine’s Night that they reduced the portions I don’t know, but I’ll not be recommending this restaurant.

Brillant and unique food, loads of flavour and decent sized portions. The staff there are great too, made us feel really welcome.

We have been coming to maray for years and the albert dock restaurant has been the best and most consistent over the years. We had a lovely experience again this time around...food was excellent with brilliant choices for vegetarians. Please never take the chickpea dopiaza off the menu. Really good drink options and on this ocassion the service was absolutely amazing, staff could not do enough for us and made this a brilliant experience.

Food was lovely but after we left and got home all of our clothes smelt of cooking. We were sat upstairs I guess near to the kitchen. That was the only thing that could be improved. Otherwise it was a lovely place with a great menu.

Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! I've never been here before until recently and I can tell you, I was pleasantly surprised. The level of food quality here was absolutely delicious. The service was really good, one of the waitresses was super pleasant and attentive to the table! It was really nice! For folks who have a dietary requirement of halal food, it is halal! The waitress even offered to show the certificate which made me smile! Super big bonus! You have got to try the lamb kofte, I ordered it twice! I would highly recommend this place, the views of the dock, the aesthetic and the atmosphere were really nice. Will definitely visit again!

It’s unfair to just mention Kyle but what can I say! Firstly CONSISTENCY from Harbourne to Liverpool amazing service. Real personality lovely people in this whole brand that is Rudys . I have my own business I just wish I knew who recruited your staff. They are faultless and a very special type of person, caring, genuine Willing to please its five stars from us can’t we give six????

My wife and I went to Maray, Albert Dock before a show at the arena. We were both disappointed for a number of reasons but in their defence they did reduce the bill after we complained. Main problem was that out of only 5 main course items on the menu only three were available( rump steak and king prawn were not on). My wife chose Sea bass which was small and of average quality but I waited and waited for my Lamb Kofta. Eventually I enquired as to when it was coming to be told(for the first time) that food comes when it’s ready! Surely a silly idea when you go out to have a meal together! Food was good but not great. Ultimately we should have been told about staggered eating so I wouldn’t go back.

Maray has been my favourite restaurant in Liverpool for years now and it never disappoints. Came this week for the Dry January pairing dinner with Lucky Saint and the food and drink were exceptional from start to finish, service and atmosphere were class as always, and such good value for money. Will be back again very soon!

Went just before the bring me the horizon gig. The staff are really lovely and the food was amazing. It was our first time at the chain and it was special.

I ate Pizza Romagnola and Tiramisù Excellent quality of food and dessert as well, Emma General Manager and Edoardo waiter they’re very professional. I spend my lunch here very comfortable and Chef they’re Italian and use all Italian ingredients. If you’re in Liverpool come here for eat the original Italian 🇮🇹 Pizza and Tiramisu.👍 vote 💯 +

Food is great here. However, even though the restaurant is described as dog friendly, dogs are not allowed inside the restaurant. They are only allowed if you sit on the tables outside, so not really dog friendly.

This is actually the best pizza I've ever tasted. We had pizza and shared the rum baba, which was also delicious. Food was really quick to come out and staff were really nice and friendly. I'm just gutted there is no Rudys local to us

Memorable meal for my father's birthday (89th). Superb location overlooking Albert Dock from excellent table at the front of the restaurant downstairs (thanks), tasty food (including a wide variety of vegan options) and a lively atmosphere. he real star was waitress Aoife who was friendly, funny, interesting and also extremely helpful with Dad's cake complete with candles. We often visit the different Rudys’ restaurants in Manchester but as we were on a day out to Liverpool, this had to make our list! I can not express how amazing the staff treated us. We booked for our son’s 9th birthday (it’s his favourite in Manchester) and the staff really went above & beyond. We were told that our son’s pizza would be free and he could put on as many toppings as he wants free of charge. Just before our (incredible) pizzas arrived, the wonderful Emma dropped us down a complimentary plate of bread, cheese and meats! We did not expect it at all. And to top it all of our son received a brownie & icecream with a candle in. Just brilliant service from Emma, she chatted with us about our plans for the day and wished our son a happy birthday multiple times! We couldn’t recommend Rudy’s enough as it is, but this trip cemented how amazing and caring it really is! Thank you so much :)

Stood for ages at the desk before being seen and shown to a table! Asked what we wanted to eat but not drink so had to say! Wrong drink brought then swapped but wasn't a large glass of wine but charged for one! One soggy pizza brought almost as soon as ordered, not sure how this could have been the correct one! Then waited ages for the second when we could smell and see burning which resulted in a burnt black crust!! Usually go to Rudy's in Manchester and wouldn't visit here again! Rudy's used to be a great independent but seems to be a chain owned by the people behind Albert's Schloss and the recently closed Greens but who knows?? Absolutely appalling!

I gave Rudy’s a try on the basis of positive reviews . On arrival we were greeted warmly . Ordered drinks , I would recommend the Italian brewed cider which comes in a bottle . Ordered the porchetta pizza which was really nice and light...

I absolutely love this place. The food is outstanding. Tasty and moreish. Everything is so flavoursome. Vegan menu 10/10 recommend. It's nice to go to a place and not have one option. The staff are wonderful, always friendly, and smiley and go the extra mile. (Starting to know our faces 😅)

Lovely restaurant, not the first time I've been but the food and service is consistently really good. It was particularly good on this occasion, when I took my family for a Christmas meal. The food was excellent, and reasonably priced. Great wines and cocktails. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thanks Maray!

We had a table reservation for 8, but upon arrival, the staff informed us that the table was still occupied with customers in the process of paying, we were asked us to wait at the nearby bar owned by Maray for a drink. After 10 minutes, we returned only to find out that the table was still not ready. We were asked to return to the bar for another drink, but we declined, as we didn't want to incur additional costs for reasons beyond our control. We waited an additional half hour before we were finally seated. Unfortunately, despite the long wait and inconvenience, we were not offered any compensation, such as a discount on our bill or for the drink we paid for to be taken off the bill. While I appreciate that the festive season can be a busy time, I would suggest implementing measures to avoid similar delays in the future, such customers paying for their meal at the bar. This would ensure that reservations are honored promptly and that customers are treated with the utmost professionalism and respect.

Amazing food and service as always

The food was alright, but nothing special and too expensive. We had the cauliflower, the sprouts, the carrots, the halloumi, the falafel plate, one glass of wine, one cocktail and a bottle of water and paid 81 pounds (although we did not have meat or fish). The tables for 2 people are very small and it was cold inside (I even saw 2 women sitting there in their jackets). However, the service was good and nice. Overall, I think it was not worth the price.

I can't remember the last time I ate in a restaurant that was busy on a Monday at 19.30 and I soon discovered why. The food is imaginative, freshly cooked and extremely moorish and the staff are very focused, polite and competent. People must by now have realised that Maray is well worth a visit...or two...or lots and lots. Open one up in London, please, preferably around the West.

Had high expectations and the food certainly delivered. Will be recreating the Sprout and Chestnut Houmous over Christmas. The service was fine but felt a bit hurried and pedestrian (just [pick 2 /3 and your good to go) some guidance /recommendations would have been good, particularly as the place was too dark to see the menus. Would go again and maybe research in advance.

Absolutely lovely place. Staff lovely place clean. Only 1 thing wrong. They don't use tongs to put food on the dough they use their bare hands . Cant fault in any other way

Our 1st visit to this amazing establishment and certainly not our last!!! The food was out of this world.... the flavours divine....choice amazing... service 1st class...friendly and great advice on the various dishes . Every dish was bursting with flavour .... from the Cauliflower to the carrots to the chickpea curry to the bread and the amazing fresh salad with feta cheese ....soooooooo divine. The Greek Merlot was so smooth.. ..a dream......totally recommend. Eyed up the baklava for desert but sadly couldn't eat another morcel.........must go back without a doubt ✨

Love this place! The food is always lovely, matched with gorgeous wines and friendly staff. We had a large table for 10 last weekend for our Christmas get together and it was a lovely evening, as usual. The staff were very attentive and amiable and the Christmas menu was really tasty and plenty of it! It's our 2nd year back there for our Xmas do and I suspect it won't be the last! Highly Recommended.

Not sure of the fella’s name who served us last night but he was boss. He was prepared to come and get us next door when our table was ready which was really nice. He was also very attentive and really good at his job. The food was absolutely amazing. Great experience. 👍

Delcious small plates and would recommend for a great meal. Upstairs was very dark until they turned the lights on at the end of the meal.

We booked with Maray for our annual girls’ night out after being let down last minute. Not only were we accommodated with our last minute request, we were offered our own private dining area and provided with a lovely Christmas menu, full of variety, catering for all. The staff on the night were wonderful, seeing to our every need. They even held off serving us food when we had a couple of late arrivals. The food was excellent and along with our chosen plates, were given complimentary dips/breads/pickles to start (the chilli dip was AMAZING) and sides with our main. The sprouts and the date pud were a big hit! Thanks again for having us- we really enjoyed our time at Maray and we will definitely be coming back In the (not so distant) future.

Nice tight menu and choice of drinks. The pizzas are out if this world! Made with first class ingredients from the floor to the tomato’s they are baked in a wood fired oven. The taste is outstanding. Deserts are homemade and delicious. Throw in great...

Good location, service and staff. Food did not live up to expectations. Some of the pickles had a stale aftertaste not fresh, crunchy and zingy. The lamb koftas were not meaty enough. The sharing plate was mostly raw vegetables. One of the fish dishes was unavailable. The flatbread was tough and chewy couldn't even tear it apart. Disappointing.
