We have been coming to Giovannis’s for years and even though we moved 30 miles away six years ago we still come to Giovannis as often as possible because the food is fantastic. The staff are wonderful and Faris, the owner, is always in the restaurant making sure everything is running smoothly. Great restaurant with a lovely atmosphere.

Food amazing, could not eat all the mushroom starter big portions needed to leave room for the main, again the main was a big portion, had garlic bread with the main absolutely amazing.

We needed a place to eat having dropped off kids at the coop arena. We wanted something local and independent. Parking is available on wasteland across the road. We love to find hidden gems and this Italian did not disappoint. The welcome was genuine, warm and friendly. The menu is not complicated but perfectly sufficient. The food was exceptional, particularly the mains - seafood linguine and king prawn tagliatelle. The king prawns were huge and juicy. However the star of the show was the tiramisu. Home made perfection, light as a cloud and heavenly on the tastebuds. The meal was very reasonably priced given the quality. We just wished it was more local to us, as droysden is a fair trek. I would definitely recommend to anyone dropping off at the coop arena. This place is a star venue and a benchmark for all local Italian restaurants. Fantastic!

Took My Son Riley we loved it! The starters were very nice and we both had the duck tagliatelle it was amazing. Finished off with a great dessert. Service was very good and the place had a good vibe. Well done chefs and staff 🙌🏻

On arrival I was offered a drink straight away, I was with my mum sister and longtime family friend, Due to my taxi being delayed I was slightly late but the other guests were already sat down with a drink. We waited a good 15 mins to be served food but that was because we were talking. Anyway we managed to get a waiter to take our order, we all chose the same starter of Garlic mushrooms. Meals ordered were carbonara ( sister ) meatballs ( friend) chicken tagliatelle ( mum) myself pollo chicken alla creme with potatoes and veg. My meal arrived and my potatoes were sprouting, I thought I'll just cut the ends off they will be fine. I then ate a bit of broccoli and a carrot, I then cut into my chicken which was smothered in the creamy mushroom sauce, It was quite chewy and just didn't taste right, I called over a waitress and told her my meal didn't taste right the chicken was. Chewy and had a funny taste. She offered me another meal but by this point I was put off I didn't fancy anything else. She took it away and it was removed from the bill. In the early hours of the morning 1am I woke with stomach cramps so I got up and went to the loo. It was then I started with Dioreah. Only a few minutes later I started to feel really unwell and I had to grab the bin this was the closest thing to me for me to then vomit it just came out of nowhere, I was in the bathroom for a good 45 mins. I can only put this down to the meal I had and I'm just glad I didn't eat it all, I only had one mouth full of the chicken and a price of potato and veg. This has put me off completely. I had been out the week previous with friends for an Italian meal in Manchester and enjoyed my meal so much ( the same pollo ala creme)that I decided to have it at Giovanni's as I really enjoyed it. I won't be returning to Giovanni's again. Did it spoil my evening no not really as the company I was with was great we laughed and chatted. But as far as my food was concerned never again I've never been so poorly after a meal as I was here. Can't fault the service that was given but I'm afraid its a no from me.

Best Italian around. The bread is amazing, big fan of the garlic bread starter and pizzas in particular.

22 of us ate here last night for my sons 21st Birthday, every meal was spot on. All dishes came out hot and in good time, the portions are generous and the staff are polite and friendly. Would defiantly recommend a visit and we will be going back. (The king prawns are huge!!) 10/10 from everyone in our party.

Can’t recommend it enough.Fantastic food best I’ve tasted in a long time.We had a party of 15 and we’re all served together no one was left waiting and food was served piping hot. Staff were friendly and welcoming ,also no rush after we had finished to leave. Definitely go again and recommend to friends.

I visited Giovanni's with my wife for the first time on Sat 25th Jan 2025, having made the reservation online a few days prior. When we got there we almost didn't get to eat as all the water in the area had been switched off due to an ongoing issue, however, pity was taken on us and we were the last ones allowed to dine. The food was absolutely delicious, they don't try too hard to make everything fancy, it's just good, honest, hearty food at a decent price. The service was also amazing and we ended up having a great time, chatting with the owner/manager about the water issues among other things. It was a shame for the business that all other bookings had to be cancelled, we were the last to leave and just as we were settling the bill the water was switched back on. Not a great night for Giovanni's but still a great experience for us, we will definitely return again soon.

Amazing food and customer service with great friendly staff.

I have been tonight for the first time with a friend Jack who I’ve known and worked with for 40 years, Not shy , At my opinion of good food . after saying my late husband was a master butcher. Obviously used to go food. I can honestly say , Atmosphere the service and the food was top quality, From entering the restaurant to leaving the restaurant, we were made very welcome. I had fillet steak which I’ve had many at times over the last 50 years 100% good quality and a fantastic price . For more thangood quality . Definitely return and definitely recommend Star Rating, For atmosphere , Food, Quantity, Service, And more important price. 10/10 Thank you, Paris and staff Hope to see you again.

I have visited this place three times and the food is to die for!!!! I have brought more foodies to visit this restaurant and every single person said they would return and we are not from Manchester however the food is so divine we all agreed we would travel to this restaurant again and again. Adam and his staff were super friendly and looked after us well…. The seafood linguini was delicious 😋….. if I could score 11/10 I would. Catering was prompt, food delicious and waiting staff very attentive. We visited as a party of 20+ for our friend's 60th birthday - nothing was too much trouble for them.

We held our volunteer celebration evening at Giovanni's. There were 26 of us and the service, staff and food were all amazing. So, no matter how large your party group is, you will be well looked after.

Foods were nice. Ordered the Bruschetta Pomodoro, the Penne Giovanni’s and the Tiramisu. The portions were seemingly controlled (positively). The dessert was not as large as what I initially surmised. Would try, again.

It's expensive for the quality of food. The team working there are lovely and super helpful but the food is just okay.

We had two starters and two main courses at Giovanni’s. All the meals were excellent- very tasty. The service was superb, with high levels of care and attentiveness from everyone at Giovanni’s. A hidden gem in Droylsden.

What an absolute gem of a place ! We were made to feel welcome from the minute we walked in, the staff were lovely and the surrounds and atmosphere great , lovely kitchen that you could see into and the food was fresh , beautiful and authentic and the portions huge ! We had a lovely evening and will definitely be back

We have walked past Giovanni's many times & decided to check it out due to the good reviews online. We went for an early dinner & the welcome was very friendly. We ordered a garlic bread with mozzarella, a duck tagliatelle, as well as a penne with sausage, & bacon, etc. For desserts, we had the Biscoff cheesecake & sticky toffee pudding with custard. The garlic bread was baked fresh & smelt lovely when it arrived but it was quite bland & there wasn't enough garlic, which was a shame. The portions of the pasta were OK. The meats were in small slivers so didn't look very generous but we did get some meat in each mouthful. We preferred the flavours of the penne but the spice kick of the duck tagliatelle. What was disappointing was both the pasta seemed overcooked & softer than expected, rather than al dente. In terms of dessert, the cheesecake was really gooey & decadent, and was lovely with the vanilla ice cream 😋😋😋😋 Am not generally a massive fan of cheesecake and this exceeded expectations! The sticky toffee pudding was pretty light & wasn't bad but wasn't remarkable. All in all, Giovanni's has some decent fare but we were expecting more based on the reviews we had seen.

Wonderful. Could almost have been in Italy. Staff friendly, and attentive but not too much. Food was REALLY tasty, fresh and was delivered to table promptly. Not too many vegan options on the menu but staff were happy to accommodate. Will definitely return.

The food was the best Italian we’ve ever had, and we’ve tried a lot. We live in Hertfordshire and would drive to Manchester just to eat there again. Authentic, fresh, full of flavour, served by staff with sparkle. Personally recommend the Spaghetti & scallops and the cheesecake…I’m not usually a fan of it but theirs was something beyond the usual!

It’s my second experience. This time even worse then the first. Look at this tiramisu…. It’s not fresh at look and look like after the fight. It’s nit supposed look like this even for take away… Lasagna was bad… all pasta is overcooked, too soft, felt very fat… there is no taste at all … really disappointing…. You need to change chef and pay attention on your kitchen. I will not go again. My second dissatisfaction.

First time at Giovanni's and was greeted with very polite and friendly staff. We arrived early but was seated straight away. The food was absolutely delicious and good size portions and came away extremely full and happy after our visit . I will be highly recommending Giovanni's to family and friends. Visited on a Sunday around 5pm. Nice atmosphere with mix of ages, family groups and couples. Service was friendly and quick. Food was excellent, my pasta dish was as good as I've had anywhere. Reasonably priced too. Highly recommended.
