Staff are really nice and chilled. The food is great. They use proper ingredients, and the food is made with care.

Fantastic food and service. Brilliant gluten-free alternatives of every pasta dish and pizza. Our pizza and pasta dishes were excellent, and the service was efficient and friendly! Recommended!

Wow what can I say about this place? The food is gorgeous, truely one of the nicest dishes I’ve tasted. Tasty but not too overpowering. They were super good with my allergies and a lot could be made gluten free. The only downside I have is, I attempted to call this place x2 to make a reservation and the phone was disengaged, lucky to have got a table as a walk in!

Probably one of the best GF pastas I've ever had! The staff were super friendly, they were so accommodating around my multiple food intolerances, offering to make a sauce from fresh! It's best service I've had around this and the GF pasta is one of the best I've tried rather than just having Penne 👌 My boyfriend had the lasagne (not gf) and said the same, probably the best lasagne he's ever eaten. I would recommend this to anyone visiting.

Amazing service, warm and welcoming atmosphere. Food is absolutely spot on! Squid was cooked to perfection. Always come here when I visit the lake district.

Stopped off after a walk for lunch. Sat outside with the dogs, staff happily brought a bowl of water out for them. Food was delicious and fresh, couldn't fault a thing. Great service and food, definitely recommend if you're in the area!

We had a lovely afternoon meal at Misto and it was a fantastic experience! We tried the spicy meat pizza and the funghi pizza, both of which were absolutely delicious. But the real standout was the halloumi fries – they were hands down the best we’ve ever had! The restaurant itself was clean, cosy, and had a really welcoming atmosphere. The staff were incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. We can’t wait to go back for another meal! Highly recommend this place!

Lovely Restaurant! We return every time we are in Ambleside! There is a lovely ambiance in the restaurant, the staff are always super and accommodating there was one occasion where one of the party couldn’t decide which pasta to have as all the options sound so good and they offered her half of two pastas so she could try both! And another time we said we were sharing and they brought out boards with half the requested pizza and half the requested pasta in a small bowl so it was easy to share no need for leaning across the table or side plates. All in all great quality service and amazing quality food at not a bad price too. One of the best Italians we have been to in the UK. We recommend to everyone who visits Ambleside. Thankyou Misto :)

First visit and loved it! Lovely hosts and food was sensational- the Gamberi and Tiramisu were fantastic. Busy (always a good sign), and lively atmosphere. Fair prices too for the quality of food. Highly recommend and will be back on our next trip to Ambleside.

Having visited this restaurant in Ambleside for a late lunch we enjoyed delicious food from the menu. The surroundings were very friendly as were the staff. Can’t fault either. We will return and both fully recommend it. However to top this, one young lady, (possibly the owners daughter?), went above and beyond to help us. Firstly I tried to extend my car parking by mobile app but was unable to get a signal. After a fair while trying the young lady allowed me to ‘piggyback’ her mobile hotspot to do this operation. Relieved, I sat down to enjoy my lovely food only to realise we were about to miss our return lake cruise ferry to Windermere, the last of that day. As my partner has walking difficulties there was no way we could walk back to the pier terminal! Without any hesitation the young lady concerned offered to run us to the pier in her own car! She packed up my remaining meal in a takeout container and got us to the pier as the ferry arrived. This service was exceptional and quite overwhelming in this day and age so I have to give a high recommendation for service . The food was delicious too so make sure you try it if in town!

Anniversary meal at Misto and it was lovely. Shared a garlic prawn, which was delicious, I had their lasagne which was rich and creamy and good portion and wife had the spinach and ricotta canelloni which was also tasty. We shared a sticky toffee pudding, a good substitute to the tiramisu they'd run out of 😂, and a very pleasant bottle of red wine to go with it all. Credit to Bobby and Tanya who served us with a smile and good humour but still attentively and professionally, thank you. Easy to recommend.

Second visit to Misto and have to say the food, service and d atmosphere were just as good as the first time. Misto is certainly on our list of restaurants to visit when in Ambleside. Almost took a mark off for running out of Tiramisu.🤣 Highly recommended.

The food was standard quality of a UK italian restaurant, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad. Our waitress was very friendly and nice, but the biggest let down was the service. We were offered drinks after about 10 minutes of sitting down, then we were not asked for our food order for another 30+ minutes which was excessively long, and that's the main reason for the low review. The restaurant was full, but again that's not an excuse for making us wait so long to take the order. A table next to us arrived after us and was served and given food much faster. I'd say it was too hot as well. But the food was standard quality. Drinks are very expensive for tiny quantities. You'd be looking at £3.50 for around 200ml of soft drink.

My partner & I visited Monday night, the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We will definitely return on our next visit to the lakes.

This place is phenomenal. Full English was incredible and the bacon and egg bap my husband ordered, was that good, he went for a second one. Lovely Italian coffee and proper tea. Service was excellent and laid-back. A must if in Ambleside

We came here after hearing great things from relatives who had been for a gluten free meal a week previous. As soon as we walked in a lovely young lady greeted us and showed us to an appropriate table. We had our 9 month old baby with us so she made sure to give us a table with plenty of space, and also offered us either a high chair or booster seat. Water for the table was offered straight away whilst we looked at the menu. They also let us know that they can do any pasta dish for our little one, exactly how we needed it i.e. a certain pasta or sauce, and they also had plastic cutlery and dishes if needed. The menu had plenty options again all adjustable so could change the type of pasta in any dish. Lots of gluten free options too, including pizza bases and pasta. I also had a glass of red wine which was lovely, and not the usual vinegary taste that some red wine has. We would absolutely visit here again, the food was amazing and really nice sized portions. Very reasonably priced too for the quality. Staff were lovely and really welcoming, could not do enough for you.

We had a delicious pizza at Misto. Service was good and we would return. They were very busy and it was a damp, drizzly evening.

If you're in Ambleside you must try Misto, the brilliant reviews are genuine, unlike some others. We've eaten here for probably the last 4 years or more and it's always been superb. Super tasty food cooked well, great portion sizes, value for money, lovely staff and a great atmosphere a rare find in The Lakes these days. We will be back!

Lovely place, food is delicious and really enjoyable. We had two mains from the dinner menu - the chicken wrapped in prosciutto with mash and it was honestly unbelievable. Would recommend to all my friends in the area!

Our first visit to Misto and it won’t be our last. We popped in early doors to see if we could book a table, they don’t take bookings but we were told our requested time of 8pm wouldn’t be a problem and indeed it wasn’t, it was quite and we were warmly welcomed. We enjoyed a fabulous spicy pizza with delicious nduja and amazing chicken stuffed with sage and wrapped with prosciutto, served with spinach and pesto mash, absolutely delicious. I take exception to a previous review that said the staff were ‘very friendly and quite young which doesn’t always go hand in hand’, ageist at its best. Great service, friendly and genuine, an absolute cut above the rest. We can’t believe we’ve not been here before, so looking forward to a return visit. Highly recommended.

What a great little find in Ambleside.The restaurant itself is lovely and the staff very attentive but most of all the food was authentic Italian…”just like a mama use to make”! If you are in the area this is the place to eat.

A disappointing return visit. My lasagne was superb as usual. My wife ordered the chicken Caesar salad without the anchovies. Sadly it still tasted of fish which I assume the anchovies were removed from an already made up meal. Never had 1"square pieces of chicken in a chicken Caesar salad before. All restaurants we have dined in have strips of chicken not large lumps. Maybe a word with the chef to enlighten him/her of what a proper salad should be presented like.

We all had homemade soup, delicious with warm bread topped with a lovely bottle of Pinot. Friendly staff, would highly recommend

The food here is really good, I had the salmon linguine and my other half had the lasagna, we both left extremely happy. Friendly and quick service, will definitely return the next time we are in Ambleside.

Visited for lunch when it was super busy on the bank holiday weekend. The poor staff are really busy so we waited a while for food and drinks to be served. We ate from a lunch menu so sample the Italian fare. The portions were big and it was ok food. Prices are not low but that’s to be expected for the area.

Nipped in to grab some breakfast on my break, isn't something I'd spend on a bacon and sausage butty normally but wanted to treat myself, how they think charging just shy of a tenner for unedible bacon and cold sausage on a barm is beyond me, the server was friendly at least. Very disappointing

One of the best restaurants we visited in Lakes. Their homemade soup 🍲 , pizza 🍕 , pasta 🍝 , and baked potatoes 🥔 are delicious 🤤 and highly recommended.

We popped in here for dinner on a Friday night where we were staying in Ambleside for the weekend. We had the garlic mushroom starter (very nice) and 2 pizzas for mains. Pizzas were nice, although a bit floppy in the middle. I had a tiramisu for pudding which was full of coffee flavour but not boozy at all. I still enjoyed it, but have had much better. Service was good from a relatively young team of staff.

The food was really excellent, my mum is coeliac and had a great meal and it was handled perfectly. The servers were lovely and it had a good atmosphere. Would definitely return.

Happened to pass this restaurant in the afternoon. Looked well presented, so we went for early evening meal. Could not fault anything, the staff extremely pleasant & the food really nice. 10 out of 10.

The food was not up to our expectation, the pizza was not made of real dough, from first glance would tell it is made from white flat bread, crust burn, pasta pisto was a shock as i did not feel the tangling taste of pisto. would not try it again definitely

Wonderful restaurant in Ambleside, definitely worth going if you fancy some italian food. Our server was lovely and food came not too long after we ordered! I personally had a pizza and it was delicious.

We went there for lunch we asked for prawn pasta they said it’s available for dinner menu but they didn’t mind making it for us We got tiger shrimp linguine, margarita pizza, garlic butter shrimp which elevated the rest of the dishes, the food overall was great We also asked for no alcohol or any other meat to touch our food since we eat halal food only and they did not mind whatsoever

We came here because it was so highly reviewed unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. We were served promptly and our ordered taken, but that’s the last we saw of our server. They are clearly understaffed to handle the crowds season brings. We waited an hour for our food, as did all the other tables around us, but we didn’t have any member of staff come round for more drinks orders. Food arrived and pastas were ok but the pizza is clearly a frozen one and very undercooked. After an hour of waiting my daughter ate it as we weren’t sure how long the wait would be if we were to send it back given we had just waited an hour and she was hungry. Perhaps reduce the number of tables if you are understaffed to maintain your quality of food and service

If you are looking for Italian cuisine, you are in for disappointment. Pizzas are just an insult to what an Italian pizza should be, everything is wrong from the type of bread used to ingredients to the way it’s cooked) I’ve had frozen pizza that were way closer to what a pizza is.. What about pasta ? Again don’t expect Italian pasta, Pesto will be with parsley instead of basil etc .. needless to say that they are not cooked al dente. Service is fine and fast at least you won’t have to wait to be disappointed.

It is such a lovely place. The meal I had was the chicken with panko and parmesan crust was tasteless and the linguine with tomato sauce was bitter. My husband's meal was lovely. It was such a shame.

Staying in Ambleside and asked for a table off the street in a Monday evening. Staff were very accommodating, despite clearly being busy, and found us a table away from the door. We both ordered lasagne and appreciated it was freshly cooked to order and they were busy, so there was a little wait. Wow, it was worth it. Absolutely delicious, piping hot and tasty. We had decided to have a main and dessert but then overheard that the tiramisu was not on the menu, so were disappointed. Someone was sent to get some mascarpone and we were delighted to be able to order it for our dessert shortly afterwards. Again, absolutely delicious and divine. I simply couldn’t fault this place. The staff were all engaging, happy and willing to look after you. Smiles all round. We will return when we are back in the area. Don’t miss it.

This is the best restaurant I have ever been in. The food was excellent but most of all the staff could not be more obliging. My wife wanted a Tiramasu which they had run out of but rather than saying they run out. They sent someone out to buy Mascaponi cheese from the local shops which they found in the 3rd shop. They asked if everything was OK and meant it. Full marks for everyone

Ate here twice during our recent trip to Ambleside. Busy restaurant, can't book unfortunately so come early to ensure table, you can order a takeaway. Both times the meals were superb, had both pizzas and pastas which were very tasty, piping hot, excellent desserts too. Very reasonably priced, good friendly service, thoroughly recommend.

Visited Misto on Sunday evening. Walk in , no reservations taken. Really helpful and friendly staff. 5 stars. Comprehensive Italian menu. Antipasto sharing board was very good. Mains both delicious. Well worth a visit

Hmm. It was okay. Mozzarella and tomatoes for starter. Weirdly it came.on a bed of rocket with CHERRY tomatoes. Had this dish many times and never had cherry tomatoes before served with it. The mozzarella was superb but because.of the unusual flavour of the tomatoes it wasn't great, and nowhere near the nine pounds price point. Main was chicken in a panko-type coating with the chicken beaten flat like an escalope. The chicken was not very flat and the coating just fell off. When pressing the fork into the escalope the fat was dripping off. Again, tasted okay but not great. Tasted like it was deep fried so the chicken was both greasy and dry simultaneously. My opinion is this is a typical tourist restaurant where the price is high and the quality is not quite a match, although I'm happy to concede I could have been unlucky. . Maybe we were just unlucky as it has a high rating on Google, and my wife enjoyed her meal greatly. The staff were awesome. Very accommodating, friendly, and service was fast. The venue itself is very accessible, well decorated and quite comfortable, situated in the middle of Ambleside. I'd certainly give it a second go just based on the great customer service. Number of views to date= 9.8m.

This place had delicious food and lovely staff and service with great prices - we ordered a couple of starters and a pizza and a pasta and everything was delicious and hot, and the servers were friendly and welcoming :)

We arrived here on spec, but were really well looked after. My partner had the sweet and spicy special pizza which she really enjoyed, and I had one with mushrooms and truffle oil I think. The service was great and I really liked the general ambience of the place. There was a bit of an error on our bill, but it was very quickly resolved.

Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended. The gluten free pizza was so good I had to check with the waitress that it was actually gluten free. My son had a Margherita which he really enjoyed.

Everything I ate was delicious!

At Ambleside for a day and night. Saw this place on Google. Lovely small restaurant, great atmosphere, food was absolutely fantastic. We had melted goat cheese and caramelised onions on brushetta for starters. Mains we had king prawns linguine, vegetarian pizza and a bowl of chunky chips. The pizza was just lovely, stone baked, good amount of toppings thin and crispy. The King Prawn linguine was also very nice, very generous on the prawns, nice and creamy sauce. Chips were crispy and fluffy inside. Highly recommend this place.

Excellent restaurant! Last Saturday evening we found ourselves without a reservation for dinner in Ambleside and thought we'd chance our luck here. We were greeted to a friendly welcome and told availability would be 15mins or so, so waited outside. Ended up talking to another couple waiting who said this place doesn't actually take bookings so you can tell its popular if a short queue outside the door! Once seated, attentive staff for drinks and food. Wide range of choices on the menu and most importantly, food was delicious! Shout out to Tanya for top service. Would recommend!
