The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Was very dissatisfied with how very little of the food we had. Lasagne was like having bologniese there was no pasta the price of everything was ridiculously high and overall for the whole dining experience was awful. Couldn't have that family conversation as they sat us under a speaker, which was loud. At nearly £200 we felt as a family this was disgusting. We were also disgusted that for a pint of lager was £9. Why only accept card payments? Massive change needed and a review of prices are very much needed. We will not be having a meal there anymore, and has put us off ever eating out again.

My friends and I, who lunch regularly in the West End of London, visited Alto at the top of Selfridge’s today for lunch. It wasn’t what I expected, and whilst it was very pretty, I hadn’t realised I would be virtually dining alfresco! I have never been so cold in a restaurant in my life, and had to go to the coat check to retrieve my fur coat together with my gloves, as I was freezing as were my companions . I actually could not think about much else other than being incredibly uncomfortable. When I asked what I would like to drink, I was tempted to say a bobble hat please. Seriously, I have no idea why they felt the need to open the glass roof on such a cold day. Nowhere on their website, suggests that you wear similar clothing to what you would wear on a ski slope and so I was decidedly under dressed in my velvet dress and boots. I understand the concept of serving everything at the same time, but there was no attempt to bring the” starter” course before the pizza which my friend ordered. Two of us were served both of our plates, whilst our friend didn’t receive anything for quite a few minutes. I don’t think I have parted with £40 quite so quickly in a very long time and for so little (one drink each and two underwhelming plates each). We were there for under an hour and did not wait for dessert or coffee as we were too cold! Suffice it to say I will not be returning. Extraordinary- not in a good way.

Amazing Location , Attentive , Friendly Staff !!

This was a nice welcoming friendly staffed restaurant. We went there for dinner around 7pm.ish..all was OK, pizzas were fresh but far too big for one person. Would visit again in the future!

Staff uninterested I ordered a cocktail was informed “did not have it” even though it was on menu I was choosing another and girl went didn’t come back. We ordered food signature dish of pasta and spinach balls pasta was cold spinach balls burnt when I eventually manage to speak to some one she said “ sorry and laughed. I have always enjoyed my food here but I will not be going back

Wonderful Georgian building. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Food was tasty. Great choice for Gluten free and vegan. Overall very happy!

Absolutely amazing dining in experience at Pizza express! The staff are all so lovely and accommodating and can't do any more to help, service was fast and they went above and beyond! Every single one of them was brilliant! Big shout out to Alexandra - super friendly, service was brilliant, really attentive and helpful! Sid - the food was delicious, the pizza was amazing! Presentation was really good! Such a lovely kind girl and was a pleasure to talk to! Mimi - absolutely lovely and got our drinks out super speedy! All in all the staff were so lovely and really nice! We had such a pleasant experience here! Would highly recommend 10/10.

We had a family xmas meal for 5 adults a child and a baby. Our daughter was well catered for with colouring and activities provided and a kids menu with plenty of choice . Considering it was saturday afternoon it was very quiet which worried me. Unfortunately the food was very hit and miss , the menu had lots of choice . We all enjoyed the starters but the mains were disappointing , pizza’s were good apart from the gluten free option which my sister found inedible. Myself , my other sister and my daughter all had pasta which was watery and tasteless , they all had to be sent back . The staff were lovely and apologised and gave us an explanation as to why our pasta dishes were so watery . The pasta dishes were removed from the bill and new dishes were offered but we were put off by the taste and didn’t take them up on this offer . Sadly we didn’t have a good experience and wouldn’t go back based on the food but the staff were all lovely and couldn’t have done more to rectify the issues .

Hier geweest naar aanleiding vd goede beoordelingen , kon niet harder tegenvallen. Aperol was vooral veel water en ijs , eten matig , en het was duidelijk dat de tafel nog een paar keer moest roteren .

Went with a friend as I had a Gift Voucher. Welcome was very good. After placing our order, we asked for Tap Water and never got it. Also food when ready seemed to sit for a while before being served. Plates were not cleared until next course was delivered. On getting the bill I was charged full price for Cocktails instead of special menu price but on querying it was then amended

Estuve esperando una mesa durante 15 minutos después de nuestra hora de reserva. ¡Llevado a la mesa por un gerente que tiró los menús sobre la mesa y se fue! Tuve que pedir 2 camareras diferentes 3 veces por agua del grifo. El restaurante ni siquiera estaba lleno! No es la experiencia normal de Prezzo a la que estamos acostumbrados...

Wasn't really impressed the gluten free burger came with a backed potato nothing in it not even butter was very dry, my son Didn't really enjoy the meal and neither did I

Decent food overall. Pizza arrived luke warm but was okay. Donner meat was nice and they gave us an extra portion of fries for free. Service was very good and quick.

My husband and I had quite a wait before we were served, But the service was friendly and food great.
