My sons favourite place to eat. We love the dough balls, the Pizzas snd the Chocolate fudge cake. Service is always good, regardless of how busy they can be. Staff work hard and are pleasant. The bathroom is always cleaned to a high standard. We are regulars who always look forward to visiting for lunch or dinner.

Worst pizza ever. Stone cold and dough balls rock solid like they were yesterday’s. An absolute joke. Will not be going there again and put me off the place any where else.

We were greeted at the door. Very friendly and professional. We ordered the cannelloni with sides. Dessert to follow with coffee. Delicious

Visited Sunday night. Doors held open as we came in from rain and cold. Great food and Max and Ian looked after us. Got to use some vouchers so great value.

I went to pizza express with my friends for a birthday and a woman took a picture with me in the background (without consent)and I posed with a peace sign and I am 15 years old she then proceeded to give my friends dirty looks and then started zooming in on my face in her picture and showing her husband and 4 children then her daughter started giving us dirty looks , then the woman swapped seats with her daughter and started giving our whole table dirty looks for a mother and adult I think this is very childish, as we were about to pay the woman stands up and gets in my friends face saying she’s rude and disrespectful she continued to get the manager and the husband said chuck them out and the manager says leave quietly not even listening to what had happened just assuming because of our age. I felt thoroughly racially targeted when the woman said that we were not exclusive people because of the way we looked and I am a Kenyan Indian young adult as a huge company you should be ashamed that this sort of behaviour is tolerated by families. This was very disappointing as me and my friends go here regularly.

We were a group of 15 year old girls trying to enjoy our night when a woman sat on the table near us took a photo of one of the young girls sat at our table. The woman who took the photo then started complaining loudly about us and giving us dirty looks. We ignore them and carried on with our night until she switched seats with her daughter and approached our table. Once she approached our table she started shouting in one of the young girls faces and said we were rude and trying to intimidate her when we just wanted to enough our meal. They called the manager over and we’re saying we didn’t look like we were from a privileged area and that we should be kicked out. When we asked what he had done wrong the manager clearly said we should leave and be quiet with out taking our side of the story. I understand we are young but listening to the older, privileged woman straight away this male staff member wouldn’t listen to these young girls. We then had to cut my best friends birthday meal short and leave having an awful night because this woman decided she wanted to pick a fight. I’m just upset this happened and think it should be taken to a further measure, thankyou .

We visited Pizza Express, Hale, Ashley Rd last Saturday (1st). There were 4 of us and 3 of our party, including my daughter are coeliac, I have allergies too- nuts, tomatoes and milk we are also a mixture of vegetarian and vegan. I hope I have the names correct- Our server Max is outstanding at his job, the service is fantastic here, he went through the menu with us and explained the app to us. Brilliant waiter! The manager, who has recently been promoted, Reser, is an asset to your management team, he went above and beyond ensuring all our food was perfect and all our allergies and intolerances were taken very seriously, he too helped us with the pizza express app, which we appreciated greatly! We had a lovely talk with him about his journey with Pizza Express and how much he enjoys working with his team and for the company, as a customer I felt his love for his job, his care and passion and that shone through to all of us. Thank you. Thank you to the chef, Jee, food outstanding and everything perfectly cooked- nothing was any trouble, it truly is delicious food! Thank you to Freya too, who also looked after us, her menu knowledge and care is phenomenal. We all appreciate how much you all as a team looked after us thank you, we will definitely be returning.

The service was friendly albeit a bit slow - inwent with 2 children on a friday night and it wasnt full. After an hour however we hadnt been served the main courses. My main issue however was the classic Margherita Pizza which was more like Tomato Garlic Bread with a spattering of cheese. Doughy and flimsy with sod all cheese .

We came here for something to eat on a Saturday evening before a flight from Manchester Airport. On arrival, we noticed that the restaurant was busy, but we had reserved a table so didn't think anything of it. We stood waiting to be acknowledged by a member of staff for about 5 minutes before the duty manager came across to us. He pointed us in the direction of a table and we made our way across to it. We quickly discovered that the table had been a table of 4 which had been split into two tables of two (so much for booking). There was about a 4 inch gap to the table on my left and as we soon found out, about 9 inches from someone seated at the table to my right. We were given menus fairly quickly but then waited for 15 minutes to place an order. That pace of service continued through the rest of the evening with a speed that would have embarrassed a snail. The staff really didn't seem bothered about being there, an attitude which was summed up by the duty manager who was never anywhere to be seen. The food was ok. Our pizzas were nice but the dough ball starter had a minimal amount of garlic butter, so it was just warm bread really. There are too many other restrictions to try so we won't be coming back here.

Busy Saturday night but we had great meal some new pizza's to try and the service particularly from Joe really good for a young man

Don’t believe any offers received from this restaurant / business as they don’t stand by them - manager couldn’t even be bothered to discuss my complaint - I’ll post further information on a regular basis once I’ve been in touch with the hierarchy - shambles of a night out ruined by the ineptitude of Pizza Express and it’s management

I took my grandchildren there tonight, totally disappointed by the new menu. There were two adults I wanted a pizza Venezia shouldn’t have been taken off the menu I ordered what I thought was another savoury pizza it turned out to have sweet caramelised onions on it. My wife’s pizza was very disappointing as hardly had any tomato sauce. I ordered the figs as a desert but they had no figs told me they ran out on Friday, definitely not the same as it use to be!

What should have been a lovely birthday celebration for a group of polite teens, mostly paying for themselves with wages from part time jobs, ruined by extremely rude waitress. Too polite to complain on night and still left tip! My niece was told to shut up (accompanied by one of several eye rolls) when simply checking there were enough margaritas on the order (she’s a waitress herself). I wish I’d been there gggrrr.

We had lunch Saturday 5/2/22. At first it seemed o.k. .Our starters came quickly, but not all together as the childrens' dishes were returned to the kitchen. Our main courses took ages to arrive. My pizza could not be cut with the pizza cutter.The base was over cooked. Even paying the bill took ages while the manager cleared the table. This was disappointing as we had good service on a previous visit.

Thank you to Manoor whom looked after my friend and daughter this afternoon (4pm) . Manoor was very polite and attentive and due to few requests made suggestions and changes for us . Really appreciated . Nothing was too much trouble . As always great food at Pizza express Hale so Thankyou to the kitchen team . My daughter loves the activity sheet too - keeps her busy . I make no apology for copying my review from 5 years ago. Our meal was delivered to their usual standards, supported by excellent service despite having a busy restaurant. Great atmosphere in the restaurant! The quality of food and its presentation is never in doubt at this restaurant , I rate it as the best one we have visited in the PXpress chain. Nuria was our server and did a great job, 5* service !

Service was super fast and the food was impeccable. Staff were really nice especially a young lad named Fred. Overall,great experience.

My Mum, our friend and I entered Pizza Express to encounter a lovely buzzing atmosphere. We sat at a spacious table in the centre of the room and were greeted by Joanne, a WONDERFUL server who absolutely made our night. Throughout the entire meal she was polite and efficient, yet also laughing and joking with us - she really put a smile on our faces. Joanne politely waited a good while to take our orders, as she noticed that we were old friends in need of a long-overdue catch-up and were therefore in no rush. After ordering, the food did not take long at all to arrive to our table. Our friend really enjoyed her pizza, and my leggara la reine was also delicious - I especially enjoyed the wholemeal dough. Despite the thinness of the dough, my pizza did remain relatively hot as I ate it, which was a welcome surprise. My mum did not finish her pollo pasta as it was more creamy/cheesey than she expected it to be, but she said that she did enjoy the half-portion that she did manage. The coffees and deserts went down an absolute treat as well - salted caramel profiteroles for one, and figs and ice-cream for the other (want an authentic desert to find on the menu! My mum was pleasantly surprised, as she loves figs). The bill that we paid was entirely reasonable - we would have happily paid far more due to the service that we received from Joanne alone! I have enjoyed a meal at this branch of Pizza Express many a time, and this experience has cemented itself as a trustworthy option for a delicious, no-fuss meal in a brilliant atmosphere with great service. Thank you, Joanne and team!

After nearly 18 months of not going out, decided it was time to revisit P.E. again. Restaurant has had a make over since last time we visited (pre pandemic!!). Not too busy tonight, and we were served quickly, orders taken, and food arrived with no delays and was usual great quality.

Went Sat 3/10, as a family of 6 we were ushered to our table, those that had to wear masks did so. Many who came in after us did not but that is up to themPlonked down and left, no paper menu, no explanation as to the app / online manner of ordering nor asking us if we had the app We waited for 15 mins for a drinks order. Food was fine - as a chain should be. Second drinks order was made, another 10 mins wait was met with a curt response.I know times are difficult but we've had many great family meals out here over many years but this was really poor from the front desk and we will not be rushing back and will support the independents.

My mother and I went for tea mid week and received the most atrocious customer service, I was very upset with the lack of respect the server showed my mother and the ignorance in the bringing of the food and drink. Overall a poor service experience but as always the food was delicious! Sad that the service detracted from the dining experience!

Wow! Today has been perfect! No pizza express since March has been tough but today made the long worth 100% worth while. The efforts that Hale Pizza Express have put in place will make everyone feel comfortable. The extra table on each table allows that space for drinks and food to be placed down for your own party to collect and give out - great idea! We travelled over 30 miles for our dough balls and pizza today (nearest one open) and we will definitely be returning to this branch. All the staff were welcoming and lovely, especially Justina our waitress. Can’t wait to return! Well done to the whole team, keep it up and hopefully normality will resume soon and we can book a big party - get the dough balls and garlic butter ready! Oh and the food was all perfect! We are huge pizza express fans, and perhaps critics but today was delicious!! Keep safe and stay well.

Went into Pizza Express on a Sunday night, and was immediately struck by the new decor: dark marble with pops of mustard, stylish chairs, spotlight etc etc - gorgeous! It was a Sunday evening so there were only a couple other tables in, but it wasn’t absolutely dead, the atmosphere was pleasant. Our waitress (unfortunately I didn’t quite catch her name, she had dark brown curly hair tied back and had an accent) was extremely attentive and polite. Our drinks orders were taken swiftly, and the jug of tablewater arrived with a plate of skewered lemons so we could add our own, if we wished. This was perfect for us, as I can’t stand lemon in my water whereas my Mum does like it. Our food order was taken shortly after that, and the food didn’t take long to arrive at all. I ordered the vegan calzone - I always order this, but I think that this may have been one of the best I’ve had! The dough was piping hot and pillowy soft (absolutely delicious dipped in a side of red pesto that I ordered!), it was absolutely stuffed with plenty of vegetables, and the spicy tomato sauce packed inside is absolutely fantastic - who needs mozzarella! My mum and our friend also really enjoyed their pizzas - the fiorentina and porcini fungi (I think?), although my mum did say the pizzas were a bit tricky to cut because they were so thin - with such a large surface area I imagine that they also went cold rather quickly too, unlike my calzone that stayed nice and hot because it was all packed in. I did dip a bit of my mum’s crust in the red pesto for me to try - and it was nice. Upon ordering the bill our waitress informed us that this particular franchise of Pizza Express was doing a trial of not accepting UNiDAYS student discount (classic Hale... ;) ) but I had an O2 priority 2 mains for £10 offer that I used instead, so all in all it came to approx. £33 for two pizzas, a calzone, red pesto for dipping, a big bottle of sparkling water, and a jug of table water - absolutely great value considering the efficiency of service, the quality of the food, and the gorgeous decor which really didn’t make it feel like a chain restaurant at all!

We booked pizza express with lots of other parents and children to celebrate the last day of school for Christmas. The manager was great in assisting with booking for lots of children and the staff were great. We all had a lovely time and would definitely return.

Food is OK but expensive standard menu and fayre. Salard is OK but expensive attracts kids can get crowded and service slow.

Decided to try pasta dishes for a change and were not disappointed. Chicken penne and bolognese penne were both tasty and good value, decent portion size. Love the mini dessert option with a coffee. Great service. Will be back

Popped in for a quick pizza. Great food, excellent service by GianCarlo, who looked after us superbly. Their pizzas are really wholesome, and appealing. Go for my favourite..... the Fiorentina.

Can highly recommend! Always consistently good and food hot! Never an issue with food or service. Staff very helpful and will show vouchers on the system once the bill has been requested.

My friend and I met up in Hale for pizza/pasta - Piccolino and Cibo seemed a little too dressy for lunch, Dante appeared a bit quiet, and then I found an O2 Priority offer on my phone: 2 mains at Pizza Express for £10! We headed inside and the restaurant was busy for a weekday with quite a few tables occupied, including a party of mums and their five children. I would have liked to have sat round the back where it was a little quieter, but the waiter clearly wanted to seat us near the front windows (maybe to create the impression of business??). It was a little cramped, but fine. We were served by a waiter who was clearly experienced, very efficient, and never made us feel rushed, but lacking in a smile...ahaha :) My friend ordered the vegan pizza and I ordered the legarra penne but asked for it with aubergine, courgettes and mushrooms in addition to the peppers that come in it. (I later found out that I had been charged an additional £4 for these ‘extras’, which kind of negated the whole point of visiting Pizza Express for a £5 lunch, but oh well, at least they were accommodating). Table water and a Coke Zero were both brought out very swiftly, and the food was quick to arrive too, even though the waiter had actually informed us beforehand that there was only ONE chef to cook for the whole restaurant!! My pasta was beautifully garnished with rocket on top (which I usually don’t eat but I mixed it into the pasta and it was delicious) and, most importantly, absolutely PIPING hot (maybe because the bowl was warm, which is very important too)!! I could tell that the pasta had been cooked al dente (as it should be) as a couple of pieces of penne were ever so slightly hard, but, on the whole, this pasta was absolutely delicious. The portion was generous, the sauce wonderfully thick and ever so slightly spicy (in a good way), and the chef had managed to pack in lots of vegetables for me. My friend also enjoyed her pizza - I had a couple of bites of the crust myself and the dough was as good as ever. Even though my additional requests for the pasta and my friend’s Coke Zero prevented us from paying only £10 for lunch, the bill still came to less than £17 in total, which I think was excellent value for such fast service, an accommodating kitchen, generous portions and delicious food!! If you’re in Hale and fancy a more casual Italian, I reckon Pizza Express is your best bet.

It had been a few years since i had visited a pizza express restaurant, but i have to say the visit to the Hale pizza express was amazing, service was great as soon as we walked in we were all greeted and seated, the pizzas were unbelievable, Pizza lovers get down here!

Buy a pizza in the local supermarket , 300 % better than this 12 pound piece half warm tomato to bread.... What a shame...

The pizza was delicious! Perfectly thin, just the right amount of sauce and perfectly cooked. I would day that the service was a little slow, so not so good for impatient kids, but they'll have plenty of stuff to do - and the only reason it was slow was because everyone loves it so much! The doughballs with garlic butter, incidentally, are to die for. And the pizza is brilliant! They even have vegan and gluten free options. It is slightly more expensive than your standard KFC but it's well worth a visit.

I’ve been to pizza express several times but there’s one problem every time they make the pizzazz they make the pizza different some reason so it’s very good still but that’s the problem.

Quick service friendly staff and clean and tidy facilities! Food hot fresh and plentiful, probably enough for 2 persons!

I arrived with my son and we were quickly seated in a booth. The food was good and came quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. The staff were pleasant. My 8 year old was very satisfied.

Friday evening for a family meal and as expected of this chain the food was of good quality with plenty of options for everyone at reasonable prices. The service was good, friendly and polite. Ambience was super - busy, boisterous and enjoyable. Pizza Express chain is to be recommended to all, remembering where it fits into the dining league.

Dropped in for a relaxing lunch with family. We all ordered different items from the main and dessert menus. All food was excellent. Tasty and on time. Sensible price too. Used the Pizza Express AP and received a discount.

Visited for lunch coffee sent back twice cold pasta arrived - cold. Gf pizza - onions cut about 1 inch thick. Chicken salad thrown in bowl. And pepperoni pizza base uncooked. Suffice to say won't be going again see photos.

We visited for the 15th birthday of my daughter but left disappointed. it feels like this restaurant has become complacent, the table was set yet had not be cleaned properly, the staff were inconsistent and there were so many young children that it resembled the party area of a play centre. There was one large table of young boys and men who made so much noise that we decided to leave after the main course. The manager was understanding and gave us a complementary brownie however, he clearly found it impossible to deal with these unruly guests and so their shouting and arrogant behaviour dominated the space for the rest of the customers eating within their vicinity.

Very good commercial pizza house. Very efficiently run. Strong evidence of a professional pizza chain. Very very busy. Very noisy with 50% children in attendance. Pasta is ok but it’s not a relaxing place to eat - unless you are with the under 5’s.

We visited during an overnight stay at the airport, finding it an easy three miles up the road to locate. The restaurant is smaller than some and felt very homely. The Nero d'avola/shiraz was excellent, as were the two romano-base pizzas. I ordered the Siciliana (which has not featured on the menu for years but was always a favourite of mine) and they happily made one up for me. We found all the staff very friendly indeed, with Sanda deserving a special mention. We will definitely return here when flying from Manchester again.

Called into Pizza Express with my husband for an impromptu meal. The food was lovely and the staff were very nice and attentative in particular Roser, who even laughed at my husband’s bad jokes! Always good value and we’ll be back soon.

The service is always attentive and not intrusive and I like food with spice so the chef upped the heat on his hottest pizza and the flavours were there with the spice as well; great cooking can make sure a very spicy dish still maintains its flavours and the sweetness of the ingredients. Simply perfect and cooked and served with pride.

I had an appointment in the area and popped in on the off chance of getting a table. Wow, how busy was this place on a Thursday night. I must confess we thought we’d have a long wait, but how wrong I was. Quick service and friendly too. A really buzzing vibe and a delicious jackfruit pizza. Very happy, as we were fed and out within an hour.

Had the mozzarella and tomato starter... It was OK my wife had the garlic bread with cheese and she said it was tasteless. She had the lasagna which was soggy and bland, my son and I had the diavlo pizzas which were OK but a bit boring. The drinks were expensive and the service was patchy

Haven’t been to Pizza Express for a while, and was surprised to see it quite empty, and disappointed that service was so slow. Food was good, as always, but missing the Bosco salad. Vegan option appreciated though.

Visited restaurant whilst staying at Manchester Airport hotel as family of 5 (2 adults/ 3 kids) as a pre holiday meal.

The vegan pizza was incredible, initially I was sceptical about this one but I wasn’t disappointed in the least. The vegan mozzarella was melted and cheesy and the veggies on top were all that I could ask for!

Top caring lovely staff ! Wonderful and very thoughtful to my disabled friend. You have good facilities but what matters most is your staff have the time to think about someone less able them selves. Top Marks

I arrived at noon with no other customers present,but they soon started to trickle in. The Staff were very friendly and quickly brought the extensive menu. I ordered Pizza with a thin base, and side salad. I did wait a while but when the Pizza arrived it was worth waiting for. It was huge and overlapped the plate, it tasted excellent as did the side salad. I was too full for dessert, but will go again.

We were treated to a meal here by our son and daughter-in-law along with our 2 granddaughters, ages 12 and 9. We had a truly tasty meal in enjoyable surroundings. One thing to be aware of is that although the food is lovely, (pizzas monstrously large)the restaurant is quite noisy. It is very popular with large families and friends meeting here to eat. Upon getting there and being seated we had to ask to be moved due to the intense noise coming from the table behind us. We were moved to a much quieter area and had a very enjoyable time. Just as we were leaving a party of 20 young children were arriving. If you can cope with the noise it has a really good menu. The only disappointment was that unlike every other pizza restaurant I know they don't offer Hawaiian pizza on their menu. Good place to eat though.

I usually visit my local Pizza Express about once a week. The staff are always courteous and friendly and although this is a chain, it doesn't have a conveyor-belt feel. The food is always of a high standard and the kitchen staff are always flexible with regard to the ingredients I may want.

Quick service and tasty meal seemed a popular restaurant because it was quite busy early evening This was mid week so we were very surprised. Good atmosphere

Dropped in for an early dinner over the Easter Weekend, luckily we booked as there was not a spare table and people were being turned away. The layout of the restaurant is decent and the staff do work exceptionally hard.

Pizza Express,Hale, Cheshire is an excellent place to dine. On every occasion I have dined there I have always found the restaurant to be clean, the staff extremely attentive and welcoming and the menu to be consistently reliable.

We were staying at a nearby airport hotel and picked this Pizza Express for a meal out. It was buzzing and had a great atmosphere. The waiter who served us was very accommodating and friendly; and the pizzas up to great P E standards. I had to call the restaurant the following morning as I had lost a diamond ear ring. I asked George to inform me if he found it... I got a call a couple of hours later to say the ear ring had been found and they would hold it for me until I was able to return to collect it. Talk about restoring my faith in humanity! Thank you Pizza Express in Hale for not only a great meal, but finding and returning a sentimental piece of jewellery back to me!

Went early evening with two mains for a tenner offer. Of course you end up spending more with a starter and drinks Food reliable and staff fun and friendly. Let on that it was my birthday and the waitress turned up with a small brownie with a candle - even though we had declined dessert. Nice touch!

It’s become our family tradition that we have tea here for our Grandchildren’s birthday. The staff are friendly and the pizzas are hot and freshly prepared.

We usually go here with our daughter but as she was doing other things we thought we'd take advantage of that fact, and I have to say, I'm glad we did.

Pizza Express in Hale is a great family restaurant. The food is the same as any Pizza Express (which I like anyway), but in my opinion what distinguishes this restaurant from others across the others country (and I've been to many!) is the customer service. The staff are extremely friendly, efficient and brilliant with kids, especially on birthdays. As a result the restaurant is often full with families and young children creating a vibrant atmosphere. We've been coming here for years, made a number of friends amongst the staff, and never been disappointed with this restaurant. Five stars, no brainer.

We visited here for the first time on our way to see the Christmas lights at Dunham Massey and we made the perfect choice. The waiter, Andreas, helped to put us all in a great mood to start our evening. He entertained the two teenagers, never easy to please! and made us all feel very welcome. The food was all excellent and arrived at our table in perfect timing. Huge thanks to Andreas and the team for making our lovely night perfect.

We have been to quite a few Pizza Express's and they was pretty much the same with one exception. The staff here were absolutely brilliant. We arrived around tea time and there were lots of children in the place. The staff made a great effort to make them feel at home, lots of high fives and always looking the help the parents. One guy even cut up the pizza to help mum.

Great service, food just average this time- everything slightly over cooked from dough balls being a bit hard to burnt pizza base.

Me and my partner visited on a Saturday evening, we were seated straight away even though it was clearly very busy the waiters and waitresses were very attentive and professional,we were both hungry and asked for recommendations, the waiter had good product knowledge and his recommendations went down a treat.

If you want to eat Italian pizza with some add-ons, this is the right place. I have chosen "arancini with nduia" (spicy) and the additional pesto was really tricky.

Had lunch with a friend and we shared the most wonderful pizza that the staff cut up onto portions for us. The food is cooked to order (so there is scope to alter the toppings), the staff smile and the flavours of the food are delicious.

You go to pizza express as you know what expect food wise, especially with two fussy kids!You drive past at least 2 branches of the chain to go to the hale branch for the service!Friendly, attentive, fast but not rushed... We'll definitely be back!

Service is how this branch stands out from the rest - everyone is so friendly and it’s a great place to take our toddler. We ordered quickly and barely waited 5 minutes for his starter. My Calabrese Pizza was excellent and he enjoyed his main and dessert too. Overall, it’s Pizza Express so don’t go expected The Ritz, but you will get good food and excellent service.

We must thank Massimo and the team for tonight; not only did we have yet another great evening but we must confess we won a voucher in our local tennis club raffle. Massimo is keen to support local clubs and made this kind donation back in June. It's taken us to September to use it.Our visit was just the two of us, without the usual tribe, although all five of us ate there just a few weeks ago.Pizza Express is our go-to restaurant when we want a night off from cooking and washing up. Over the years we have also used it for family celebrations. It's local to us so we can walk to it, which is quite important to us, although we are in an area with massive choice.The menu is suitable for the various requirements of our family; one of us will only eat margarita pizza! Overall the food quality is good. There's always plenty of food and it's served piping hot - to me this is vital for pasta based dishes.The restaurant is always clean, tidy and busy and the staff are pleasantly attentive.We will be back shortly, partly because we exchange our Tesco Clubcard points for PE vouchers. This is a great way to get a discount and something we'd highly recommend.Well done again.

Gluten free dough balls and pizza, we were just back from Italy and I had failed to find a Gluten free pizza. Friendly welcome, great staff, good simple food, we both enjoyed.

I take my grandchildren that happens once a week, the staff are really wonderful friends are, nothing is too much trouble and the food is just right for my three and four year olds. It's also great for the adults and my wife and I love eating there, the pizzas are about the best in the area, long may it continue.

Had to wait 15 minutes for a table we had already booked. Slow service and not attentive, even on quite nights. Have waited 40 mins for the bill before going up to the till and paying there.

Pizza Express has always been one of my favourite places to eat out in Hale and I've always been very satisfied with the food and service. However from my visit there today, I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon.. I was spoken to so rudely by one of the waiters, I was quite honestly dumbstruck as the service has always been spot-on in the past. Everything I said, the 'waiter' had a problem with and spoke to me and my friend in an extremely rude and patronising manner. It had completely ruined the meal for us and we both felt awkward just being sat in the restaurant. It's unfortunate that this had happened as I wouldn't fault the place before today, however I defiantly won't be returning from now on.

Stopped off here before checking into our hotel at Manchester Airport. Smart restaurant with attentive staff. Food was of high quality as normal.

The boys love the children's menu at Pizza Express, so we have visited several. Hale Pizza Express stands out from the rest. The difference is the staff. They are welcoming and full of fun; captivating the children. Children are served quickly despite the restaurant being busy. Plates clean and children happy. We'll be back!

Went with the family for a birthday meal in the early evening. The restaurant was bustling throughout, lively but relaxed. We got attentive service (thanks Luigi) and the courses came at a good pace. Food was good and all completely polished off. The staff here are always great with the kids and it has a family feel - certainly until 7ish I imagine. I forgot to take/find any vouchers though so it wasn't cheap, even when we didn't drink much. So enjoy a meal here but find a voucher first.

I took my elderly Mum for lunch, The coffee was excellent and Mum adored the salad with chicken and my pizza was prefect as always. Service was warm, friendly and delightful as always.

-Loud Music, to loud to talk over-Food is clearly manufactured, my brothers pasta dish looked like a ready meal from tesco.-The waiting staff didn't care to keep screaming children quiet -Waiter was very 'slap-dash' in putting plates on the table, often crashing them together, while other wait staff where smashing crockery in the background -However the wait staff were friendly, but I struggled to understand what he said as he tried very hard to force an Italian accent, which made him look foolish and immature.

The food is always a safe bet in any Pizza Express but the real differentiator with this one is the staff! They are amazing, every time I come here they get better.Thanks to you all.

Visited with family mid week and had an enjoyable pizza meal mid evening. We were seating by a waitress with a warm smile who then offered us menus and took our orders for drinks. The staff were amiable and attentive checking that all was in order. The restaurant was not particularly busy but constant. It was a warm evening so doors were left open keep the restaurant cool. The atmosphere was very much geared to families and was very relaxed.

Firstly the starters aren't very exciting and for the main course the pizza was very dry at the edges and very few chicken toppings and the bottom of the pizza was overcooked. The dessert was tasty. Overall the food and drinks were very expensive for example for a Fanta it was £2.65. However the staff are helpful and friendly.

After a long day in the sun its hard to find somewhere to eat these days after 10pm... even on a Saturday night!!! But Pizza Express came good and we were well fed and watered in Hale Village. Great food all washed down with Peroni Beer. The service was also good and friendly too. However, I do think though that these places in affluent areas take advantage with the high prices they charge. Worth a visit, but beware you may leave with an empty wallet !!!

We visited the restaurant for dinner. Mains, starters and kids meal, all were excellent. Staff were very friendly. The ambience was excellent. Felt that the restaurant was bit expensive but nothing can be complained about the quality or service

I was very pleased with the service tonight as was all my family members. We didn't book a table as we are staying at a hotel nearby. We were welcomed by friendly staff, water was offered straight away and our drinks order taken. A very friendly and attentive waiter took our order. Myself and my mum are gluten free nothing was too much trouble, the food, ambiance, service was fantastic. Both children got a great deal on the children's menu and the adults all chose the starter and main for about £11.Fabulous.

I went to this restaurant with my father for lunch. When we arrived there were a few tables full of children or parents with children. These were particularly noisy (unfortunately parents in Hale are unable to educate their children on how to behave in public places). The waiter kindly showed us to a table at the back of the restaurant that was quieter so that we could have a good conversation. The waiting staff are really friendly here and they do make it different to other pizza express restaurants. They are most accommodating too as when I have been here with my mother they have served starters as main courses, or done smaller portions of main courses for her which is really appreciated. The menu is pretty much a standard Pizza Express menu so no surprises in what to expect. For starters we had Bruschetta, followed by A Romana base Pollo ad Astra (chicken and slightly spicy pepper) pizza and sloppy Guiseppe pizza on a classic base. Both were presented well with plenty of toppings on them. Desert was a rich chocolate ice cream and a hot chocolate. The service here is efficient without feeling rushed. Overall meal cost was reasonable, around £50 for the meal. Usually there are online offers available which can bring this down further, however these are not applicable every day of the week and can exclude certain dishes. Worth checking out though.When in Hale, I regularly eat here and have no issues in recommending it.

Liked the decor, the service was friendly and efficient. We ordered pizza; yes ok pizza, but has to be the thinnest crust I've ever seen, the topping wasn't generous to say the least. Large glass of Merlot and a bottle of coke; our bill came to just short of £33, which to be honest was overly expensive in my view. Wouldn't rush back - sorry.

Lovely location, spacious restaurant with a great vibe, great service and quality food. Really enjoyed the visit here.

It was a very busy evening during the Easter weekend and we had the most wonderful food and service imaginable highly recommended five-star in every area
