Excellent meal and service as normal

Lovely buzzy atmosphere great service, and friendly helpful staff. Food was very good and we had a delightful Sunday lunch. I liked the fact that all the front windows opened as it was a beautiful sunny day, it was lovely and cool inside. We will definitely return.

I recently dined at Cibo in Altrincham and had a fantastic experience. The steak was exceptional—perfectly cooked and deliciously tender, and it's great to know that it's halal. The manager was particularly impressive, always pleasant and welcoming, which added a personal touch to the evening. Highly recommend this spot for both the quality of food and excellent service.

We have visited the wilmslow and Manchester Cibo and they both top Hale a million times over, the staff are rude the food was average and they got our order wrong won’t be returning

Cibo is a beautiful designed restaurant. Lots of attention to detail. However, they do not write any orders down, so lots of errors for drinks and food. I had pate to start which was £15. It was OK. Everyone else's was apparently fantastic, but again a little expensive. Unfortunately, I orders the fillet steak at £33, and they cooked it wrongly, twice, so everyone else had eaten their meal, and I still hadn't eaten anything. I just couldn't risk and 3rd time, and be the only one eating. Everyone else said their dishes were lovely. In their defence, once we managed to speak to the manager, he made it right. Not sure I'd go back. The numerous, silly mistakes, should not have happened.

Saturday evening- we loved the service we received tonight from staff! Me and my partner ordered bruschetta and deep fried squid which were both basic starters but still lovely! For mains I got the lobster ravioli which was delicious and my partner got rib-eye steak which was cooked to perfection! The service is what makes the experience even better. We spoke to quite a few staff and they were all lovely especially the lady on the door with dark hair and the bartender was our favourite (not sure of his name but had dreadlocks I believe. He was super friendly and described all the gins (my fave) to us. He also gave us a complimentary shot at the end of our meal which we hugely appreciated:) Only downside I guess is the service charge which was £13. We do like to tip but prefer to do it ourselves. And parking is a nightmare, but we loved our date night here tonight.

The food was absolutely amazing and tasted wonderful. The table next to us was quite lively (group of golfers), however there language did not suit the restaurant, the staff never said anything to them...... we felt the staff were not happy in their jobs and were much, much too pompous throughout our visit, for this day and age. Such a shame

As a local, Cibo is my favourite restaurant I usually brings my friends here …. Great atmosphere, beautiful decor ( I still not yet to sit on their beautiful terrace) and amazing food. My most recent visit they got new squid ink pasta with lobster and seafood. The taste is so good I would not hesitate to recommend it to everyone.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday at Cibo, and it was amazing. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect, can’t wait to go back.

It's alright. The sort of place where customers are a mix of chavs and classy people. Food is absolutely average. Very well decorated. The 2 italians walking up and down the stairs in blazers (making me assume that they are some sort of managers) were swearing all the time, assuming that no one would understand them (unlucky hey). Thankfully we were served by a young woman that was very polite. The bruschetta was totally burnt but regardless of that, it wasn't replaced or removed from the bill. With so many restaurants around, the only reason to visit this one would be the decoration, and if you are lucky to have a table with a view, the cars passing by.

Nice food, but won’t be going back. The service is poor if you are not prepared to spend a lot of money. We booked a table and arrived on time, but we were sent to the bar first. My wife told them we would order drinks at our table rather than at the bar. We decided not to order any wine, and went straight to the main courses without a starter as there was a lot of us but did order a cocktail and soft drinks! Unfortunately we found staff were frosty throughout, barely looking at us once we said we didn’t want wine or starters, and removing wine glasses in a bad tempered way. We didn’t want a dessert, and the waitress virtually threw the bill onto the table when I asked for it. They obviously expected a huge tip from a table of 7 people, but unfortunately for them we didn’t spend as much as they wanted us to!

Very busy but service and food was still great!

Food was poor ,meat was tough. Premium price for larger and it was flat . The only saving grace was the service was good . Raised with staff was offered a Lemoncello as a sorry instead of knocking off the price of the poor quality food and flat beer off the bill. Have had better food elsewhere.

Really good food and service was excellent

The food was not to a standard we have had before at other restaurants and it’s heavily over priced for what you get. I would not go for dinner again, maybe for a coffee n cake!

First time visiting and it definitely won’t be the last. Food was delicious, the service was great and our waiter was so lovely. Highly recommend for a special occasion.

The best thing about CIBO is the unique setting, especially the terrace. Food is descent and desserts are to die for. Expected a little more from staff, but that was just one occasion so maybe only that evening. We’ve been so many time and everyone came back with great memories. It’s mainly Italian food but has steak and salads too. Kids can easily eat there especially if they like pasta.

Booked online at 815pm for a 9pn table. The booking was accepted. Arrived round to hear they did not receive the booking and that the kitchen was closed.

Disgusting toilets . Flooded and then to add insult to injury on Mothering Sunday or any Sunday no toilet roll. Never ever

Quick review: A high end restaurant with unique Italian dishes and even more unique setting. Though service charge and slower service during busy times can be off putting the food, quality and views are worth a visit. Pros: amazing location with massive glass conservatory on both ground and 1st floors. Uniquely designed dishes and authentic flavours. We recommend the Sea Bass Linguine and Honey Semi-alfredo desert, as they were delicious but not heavy. TIP: Be careful with pasta dishes with butter sauce as the melted nature of them, can get on your clothes if not forked delicately. Cons: 1. if sat in the conservatory areas, the outdoor heaters might be turned off by the staff, at the request of other guests, so just be aware if you don't like to be cold. 2. We were not asked how our food was, which is usual at most restaurants, nor was timing good when asking for the bill, as it took a long time to get staff attention. Tip: come during a weekday for a nice quite experience and more attention by the staff. Overall I would recommend this restaurant for the food, setting and views.

We were a large table of around 25 but this did not affect the quality of service or the quality of the food which was excellent. We will definitely be visiting again.

Food was pretty good, albeit the liver was overcooked imho. Service, though was excellent.

Was really looking forward to our visit having heard good things, unfortunately, it was average at best! We all agreed, it was noisy, probably due to a design issue to be fair, and there was an open window near our table which affected the comfort of two members of the party. We should have mentioned it but didn't in fairness. Service was okay, but nothing special, asked for a spoon which took 5 minutes to arrive. We put this down to us not being regular customers and not members of the Hale clique. Quality of the food was average, nothing blew us away. The portions were small and didn't represent good value for money. We had a couple of gins, a couple of pints and two 0% beers, 4 starters , 4 mains and 4 coffees. with cheeky 12.5% service charge the bill was £210. Had we come away saying the meal was fantastic we wouldn't be moaning now, but it wasn't. We certainly won't return, there are two other quality Italian restaurants to pick from in Hale.

Beautiful evening from start to finish...Dominica is an amazing hostess. Greeting was lovely & warm. Delicious food. Everyone whom we came into contact with was delightful.

An absolutely lovely Restaurant, great Ambiance, excellent Service, helpful staff and above all, Delicious Authentic Fresh Food. The Place is popular with A-Class Footballers seen regularly. During my visit, Eric Ten Hag, Robin Van Persie and Ruud Van Nistelrooy were also sat at the restaurant.

We had a great meal and great service from Felix and Krishna . All very reasonable prices . All freshly made . Would certainly recommend. Park in Aldi car park.

This was our first visit to Cibo. We had decided we wanted to eat Italian and had noticed the restaurant on our last few visits to Hale village. The restaurant is stunning, the service excellent and the food outstanding! The scallop starter was divine and my wife’s chicken liver starter was rich and delicious. We were going to choose the lobster ravioli I but our waitress Sara suggested the special dish which was half a lobster and linguine. It was absolutely amazing! So delicious! Unfortunately we didn’t have room for dessert but we will definitely be back. All the staff were friendly, attentive and very accommodating.Excellent customer service that you don’t always get in restaurants these days. A special shout out to our waitress Sara who was helpful and lovely!

Beautifully seated and served 18 guests for a birthday lunch on the roof terrace. Service was excellent, quality of food and flavours were delicious, attention to detail was without fault. During booking and planning phase, dealt with Lorenzo and Francesca - both extremely friendly, welcoming and professional... all staff wonderful...

Arrived on time for our booking. Shown to a garden table in the conservatory despite the restaurant being empty. Sat for 15 minutes, no menus and no drinks. We left shortly after. Would rather spend our money where it is appreciated.

Absolutely Awful experience!! Lobster Ravioli came out raw !! sent it back was nuked in the microwave!! was old not fresh!! one of the managers after we sent the food back said ' Are they done yet or what'! service charge was added , asked to remove it and was angrily asked was the service not good so all other diners could hear .. unacceptable response will not recommend or be back every again saving grace was the lady who took payment couldn't apologise enough as all the other suits had disappeared

We booked here for a birthday celebration. It was a fine dinning restaurant. Pasta, risotto and dessert - chocolate fondant and tiramisu were tasty. The male staffs provided good service except the 2 females who should have been sacked. We made a reservation and stated clearly that it was table for 4. To ease the access issue, we mentioned a pushchair with us. Upon arrival, the lady who stood at the entrance were weird and so apathetic to give us a table. In fact she did not reserve a table for us and oddly kept asking if we were 5 with another baby. Then she just randomly gave us a table by the entrance while the restaurant was completely empty. The waitress was also miserable - no smiling, not paying any attention. When my partner videoed the kids singing the bday song, the waitress kept passing another dessert to him and asked him to take it so she could finish her task. It was extremely awkward. Couldn't she wait for a moment or just leave the dessert elsewhere on the table??? We would rather visit the other one in Wilmslow next time. Expecting a better service in this kind of restaurant.

Welcome back to my series of serious and well documented reviews. Today I will be reviewing this ‘Italian’ restaurant, I’m not sure why we ended up here, we were supposed to still be in London, oh well…. Let’s get down to brass tacks. I ordered the Caesar salad, and the chicken was deeeceeeeent, an everyday I’m shuffling level of nourishment. However, I also ordered half a garlic bread with cheese. I was given a cheese cheesewhich instead. Not sure what happened here, manager was clueless. The main course was diavolo pizza. For some reason the pepperoni tasted of liquorice, as opposed to well, pepperoni. Good job I’m not allergic to liquorice, otherwise that would’ve been a honky bog scenario. 4 yums out of 10, not yum yum. I was not at all interested in desert, as when the aforementioned clueless manager came over, he just gave excuses about the food. However, his beard was a 20/10, but beards are not edible, so pretty useless to be honest To crevice, I would not rush back to this establishment, unless I needed beard advice. I am however a dog with below average IQ, so that will not be necessary. DONUT COME HERE, unless u want to be very upset inside?

Came as a party of 30 for an annual works night out. Flawless experience from start to finish. The restaurant decor is stunning, food was gorgeous with generous portion sizes, and the service was absolutely fantastic. Everything you’d expect from a top restaurant which this certainly is. Our company is also in the restaurant and bar industry so we would know, and it was even better for us knowing what goes into delivering that excellent experience. Big thanks to Dominique our server and the manager too I didn’t catch his name (Sunday 7th January evening time.) Have already recommended to family and friends I will be back soon. Thank you again!! PS Tiramisu is to die for!

Reminds me of when San Carlo in Manchester was good - great setting, food really good and typical top class service from an Italian run restaurant

Really poor experience. My wife and father were deciding between a white wine and a Rose. The waiter suggested a particular Rose which they said ok to. All be it being naive to accept the suggestion. The waiters suggestion turned out to be £12 per glass of which they had four. Obviously when the bill came it felt a bit like they’d be played. I’m sure a lot of people reading this review may think otherwise. Left a really bad taste in our mouths having been supportive of the chain up in the High Peak and in Hale. Will be taking our business elsewhere in the future.

Great atmosphere here with a real vibrant buzz. We were a large table of 13 who had booked for a birthday early at 6pm. The service was not up to the standard of cibo in wilmslow. Waiting for drinks orders and I had finished my main before my wife's arrived to the table. Will stay at wilmslow next time. Service is what makes the difference between your cibo/san carlo/piccolino's. It wasn't the best this time.

We booked Christmas Day lunch at Cibo this year at 12pm for 8 people. On arrival we were seated to our table which was nice, we had a great table upstairs. When we got given the menus we noticed the children’s menu was different to the one which had been emailed to me when we had booked. The menu for the children was missing the turkey dinner. When our waitress returned to get our food order and drinks order at the same time, I asked where the children’s turkey dinner was? We were told this was now the menu and turkey wasn’t on it for the children. The options were pasta or pizza for their main course!!! I asked if we could order the turkey from the adult main and was told yes, but the children then couldn’t have the starter or dessert of the children’s menus and they had to stick to an adult menu. We then had to pay more for the adults menu for them. All for them not to eat their starter from it! After only being seated for five minutes, the waitress who was miserable and unhelpful told us we had to order our starter, mains and desserts now as well as drinks as we were under the 2 hour time slot. I was aware of the time slot but didn’t appreciate being reminded of it after only being seated for 5 minutes with still not drinks order taken! At the end of our meal we asked for the bill which took 20 minutes to arrive ( so much for rushing us at the start) We did pay the 12.5 percent service charge, as I do respect people who are working on Christmas Day. However did the waitress, staff deserve the service charge…. Definitely not! We are local to Hale Villiage and have been to the restaurant many times. Unfortunately we shall not be returning on Christmas Day or any other for that matter. Very disappointing.

Lovely place with absolutely delicious food!

Lovely meal for 5 on Tuesday this week. Decided to avoid Manchester city centre and picked Cibo in Hale and was so glad we did. Food was delicious, service was good, drinks a bit slow but it was easy to grab someones attention. Will definitely be returning as a preference to schleping into Manchester and paying over the odds for average food in "insta" worthy environments that are too busy (am I getting old :)). Have already shared my good reviews with friends who will be checking them out soon too, thank you for a lovely night.

Wow..veal chop fit for an Emperress...it was sensational from the quality of the meat to the perfect cooking. The first floor terrace is a Christmas wonderland of foliage and baubles...all beautifully lit. Best food, ambience and service by a wide margin anywhere...and the terrace is as warm as toast with its winter sides and heaters

Amazing!! Went there for my 8 year old son’s birthday, it was a Monday so it was very quiet inside. However on weekends it can get very busy. They had amazing Christmas decorations!! We brought our own candles, but the staff already knew because he had a badge on!!! We sat upstairs, outside, which was the best of cibo. The view of Alty was amazing, we counted how many carriages there were! (Some had about 30!!!) I would definitely recommend for birthdays!! Weekdays are very quiet, which is the BEST experience of cibo. Of course weekends are also very good.

I have visited previously numerous times, as usual the food is delicious and the portions quite generous. Today the restaurant was freezing cold, I complained and our group of 7 was moved and squeezed in a table for 6, and to be honest the room was still freezing so that some of us dined with their coat on! Unacceptable.

Unfortunately, won’t be going back any time soon. The quality of the produce has seriously gone downhill. The burrata was actually mozzarella. The pizza base looked like something from Iceland. The melt in the middle chocolate pudding came out in under five minuets therefore was clearly a bought microwaved pudding. Always appreciated cibo for its high quality standards but the meal has left us not wanting to return.

Thursday night and busy with a gorgeous inclusive atmosphere. The décor is stunning and the food of great quality. This is now my new favourite restaurant and Iwill be back.

It’s hit & miss if I’m honest. Been there few times. Food is okish but it definitely lacks in customer service area. Managers walk around like they’re on a set for God Father movie 🤦‍♂️ They are more interested in checking themselves out in the mirror than paying attention to actual paying guests………. Poor waiters always running around like headless chickens. We only go there for sun ☀️ Riva cross the road is awesome though ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Been here many times and to the Wilmslow Restaurant. Food as always was amazing but the experience this time was not good at all!! When I booked this I told them that it was for my wife's 40th Birthday and requested the best table possible. When we were greeted there was no acknowledgment of my wife's birthday, this was by front desk staff and a gentleman in a suit. So I presume he was management. When we sat down he approached us and asked our names for the second time, and we still to this day can't make this out, he asked about a bottle of wine being ordered by a different name to ourselves. We politely said that is not us! He repeated himself because someone had rang up, so we did think for a second could one of our family members have rang up as a surprise for my wife's birthday. He did mention their birthday but we couldn't make out weather it was a wine billed owed or a gift from them. I did say it is my wife's birthday today but that is not us who ordered any wine. He didn't even wish happy birthday and just walked off and we heard him say to the staff it is her birthday but its not them. He come across as rude and very unprofessional to be honest. As a lot of the staff did that evening. It didn't have a warm and friendly atmosphere nor were they interactive with our children. Even when we were eating, the table was right next to the front door, definitely not the best seat in the house for an empty restaurant but just the staff in groups around the table practically waiting for you to finish. We left after mains and went somewhere else local for a coffee and cake. Again the food was great just not a pleasant experience for a special birthday. Just hope this isn't becoming one of them places where your face has to fit.

For a start, we were barely greeted at the door despite having a booking. Our server took our order swiftly which was good but never introduced himself and then we barely saw him again. After both our starters and mains were cleared, no one checked in on us about the food, which is surely the most basic in steps of service? We had to ask for more drinks and the dessert menu. As it was my birthday meal, it did leave a bit of a sour note on my night and I probably won’t be returning to this branch. The food was delicious as always hence the 2 stars and not 3, but the service on this evening was particularly poor and not worth the 12.5% service charge added automatically. Another red flag is that the manager did not ask if anything was particularly wrong when I asked for the service charge to be taken off - shows how much they care about their customers’ experiences. We visited on a busy Saturday evening so I can understand the staff may have been rushed but we felt as if they were trying to serve as many people as possible without a care or attention to service, which you expect when paying good money for a meal out.

Clearly the place to be seen in Hale, but sadly only for the social media clout and not for the food. Portions generally on the small side (especially my lasagna), food was OK but nothing more and prices on the high side - plus a 12.50% service charge!

Went to have a long lunch with friends. Decor was lovely, service excellent, menu fantastic and the food did not disappoint. Really great meal and everyone in our group of 6 was really happy. Not cheap but it was worth it and probably quite normal for Hale. Recommended. They were also good with my little girl I took with me.

Nice atmosphere and great staff but But I can't say the same for the food. The seafood plate we ordered for a starter was very nice and tasty. But the main course portions and presentations were not professional at all. Duck meat, for example, was floating in a sauce that was too sweet. There was no balance on the plate. Next to meat with such a sweet sauce should not be a side dish of sweet potatoes. There should be a more sour and salty alternative. Our second main meal was T-bone. it was very nicely cooked and delicious. But there should still be no carbohydrates next to such a large amount of meat. It was served with fries on the side and also had a very bad oil smell in the potatoes. There should be a lighter by-product next to such a meat. Such as vegetables, salads. If I have to talk about dessert; I can say that we had the shock of eating fake tiramisu in an Italian restaurant. A tiramisu that you never get the taste of espresso. A cream made only with double cream and sugar without the use of any egg yolks in the cream. It was so bad, the cream stuck to my palate. I am sorry.

Such a beautiful restaurant. Eleven of us had a meal yesterday to celebrate a birthday. The food was superb and the staff were just amazing! So attentive and kind. They really couldn’t do enough. Thank you for having such high standards and making sure everyone thoroughly enjoyed their time at your wonderful restaurant.

Located super close to shale train station - in fact it’s a cross the road. Parking is tricky so be patient and you will find one. The entrance is wide and inviting with a compact bar straight in front of you with seating areas up or downstairs 4 of us ate a starter and main for £40 per head. We paid for drinks at the bar separately See photos for our meal: Starters: garlic bread with cheese & chips with truffle oil Mains: steak with broccoli, spinach and new potatoes on the side Roast duck with sweet potato Lobster ravioli Everything was fabulous and served hot The only thing that let down the atmosphere was a large birthday party of 14 year old girls, which was a one off!

Good food although the restaurant was a bit chilly

Nice people, nice atmosphere, terrible food. I was so disappointed in the food. I had one of the most simple dishes to cook but somehow the absolutely ruined it. I was way to English and in a rush to complain but it was shockingly bad.

Very mediocre meal at Cibo in August for my birthday. The Gameroni starter that I've had many times before came in a pool of tasteless water which spilled all over me when passing me the dish, and then it tasted very bland, I did mention this to the waiter which we received an apology for but would have expected it taken off the bill considering I sent half of it back, but nope no resolution offered. Everything else was ok, but nothing amazing, feel like the food has gone a bit downhill here.

After a terrible experience at Victors Restaurant a few doors down, Cibo were able to accommodate us last minute to celebrate our daughters birthday. Every time we have been, the staff have always been attentive, a great atmosphere and lovely food - and this night was no different! It ended the day celebrating perfectly!

Brilliant meal, wonderful staff totally recommend. The chocolate fondant wasn't really a fondant, more like chocolate cake but still delicious.

Absolutely loved our 'baby shower' lunch here.The staff were amazing, attentive but didn't hassle, even when some friends were running late due to traffic. Food was so delicious! All 9 of us enjoyed every morsel. Well done Cibo..we will definitely come back. A very special place to meet and eat.

Food was very average! We were a party of 10, in fact my order was one of 3 that wasn’t as per described in the menu. Service was a bit stuffy; as if they were doing us a favour. Hard to comment on the atmosphere as were were placed on a table upstairs in an unusual corner of the restaurant.

Me and my partner came in for dinner on a Monday, both had a steak (fillet & ribeye) both ordered peppercorn, meal was fine. We prefer the cibo in Wilmslow, after 3 hours of finishing the meal I started feeling unwell at home and started throwing up, around 30 minutes later my partner did the exact same...we rang the restaurant to let them know and said we did not want any money back because we normally come in, we were met with a manager who was quite condescending, telling me " we have had other people eat this today and they have not been throwing up blah blah blah " he was being very in genuine saying we care for your health please come and see us tomorrow and tell us how you feel. Like really? He expects us to do that? Normally I would leave it but I will now be contacting my bank for a full refund due to manager. (Lorenzo, Luciano? Something beginning with an L)

First visit tonight for my nephews 21st . We all had a super meal . Great atmosphere and super service from Freddy the manager who made us most welcome. Thank you again . The boys loved it 👍

Food was very bland, service was abrupt.

Wonderful food. The best Italian food I had for a long while. Amazing garlic bread, pasta and deserts . The lobster ravioli was delicious, also the risotto and the tiramisu was just perfect. The service was also very professional and friendly. Really recommend the restaurant. The decor is also very elegant.

First visit here, late Saturday afternoon, warm welcome, good service, everyone polite & prompt. Restaurant got very busy as we were there, had the doors open onto the terrace which was nice - even in the rain! Nice drinks, enjoyed a garlic bread, both had a lovely pasta dish. Food was tasty, restaurant is beautiful (very San Carlo but without the celebrity pics everywhere!), excellent service. Will return.

I had the Diavola pizza which was excellent. Great restaurant.
