We had a lovely meal here whilst holidaying nearby in Ventnor. My partner had the famous ‘life changing lasagne’ and I had the fillet steak - that was perfectly cooked! We only wish we’d had room for dessert. The staff were very warm and welcoming and we’d definitely visit again if in the area.

We have breakfast here and after a good number of years I now have found the perfect place, outside my my own kitchen, to get a delicious breakfast. The staff are extremely friendly and care about their guests which is rare these days.

We popped in it was a late decision made to eat here on a cold dark evening. Quite a few tables empty nevertheless the hostess had to check with the manager if there was any availability! Hmmm …. And of course there was and we got seated. Waited to be served and waited and waited. Staff here are very un-attentive and like to ignore their Customers it seems. Once we finally placed our Pizza order and the food arrived, it was as expected edible warm but nothing special. Pizza a bit floppy hmmmm would we dare seconds? We did and the cakes were quite firm but tasted ok. Then the SHOCKER The Espresso …. What’s this well we know they are small but this! had the machine broke whilst it was being made or did the waitress have a sip or spill it on route to us?Judge for yourself photo attached. We did laugh though that was the best thing in this Pizzeria that night. Would we go again? Simple NO.

This is a SW 7 restaurant that’s been around for at least 25 years in my memory and has relocated to the Bailey Hotel around the corner on Gloucester Road. It’s about 50 feet from the exit to the Gloucester Road tube station and so it’s great for meeting friends. The food is good in this Singapore style restaurant. It’s a bit more upscale than the old incarnation. If anything it’s a better with an expanded menu with some interesting offerings. We had a dim sum starter which was good but not excellent (we had it late evening) and a very tasty noodle dish I would definitely have again. The staff is very friendly and the restaurant is popular with locals and hotel guests. Full bar. Random trivia.. Bailey Irish Cream was invented by a whiskey distributor that was officed across the street in the early 1970’s —- as a way to get rid of surplus whiskey and dairy products. The brand now sells tens of millions of bottles a year worldwide and is owned by Diageo.
