Carluccio's - Meadowhall in Sheffield

As a regular visitor for Saturday breakfast we decided to try the evening menu,a totally new experience. My wife had no problem choosing off the menu but I have an intolerance to garlic. Having spoken to the duty manager about my concerns she had a word with the chef and everything was sorted. The manager and chef were very understanding and accommodating and I therefore had a most enjoyable meal served up by a very pleasant young lady who we'd had the pleasure of meeting before. Overall a truly wonderful group of staff who looked after us in very pleasant surroundings.

As always amazing. Dinning with family today during lunch . Very busy, but nothing was problem to amazing people served us. Absolutely recommend this place.. thank you for today

Been in to the Meadowhall Carluccios today and had a lovely meal! The pizza was outstanding and a true representation of the Italian cuisine, I thought I was back in Rome! Credit to the head chef! They also catered well for my friend who is disabled and has trouble in busy environments as she gets very stimmy, we felt very welcome. Staff were lovely, especially Holly, Isa and Kenal.

The staff were amazing and super helpful. Especially Kennel and Maisie!! The pizza is what I’d recommend!!

A really welcoming place, the food was really good specialy the carbonada and All the food was amazing. The staff were really good specialy Chloe, vaia , kenel and Holly

Food was really lovely but the experience was really let down by the service. My husband and I went for dinner a few weeks back. He ordered a burger which he really enjoyed and I ordered a pasta dish which again was very nice. I also ordered a large glass of red wine, which I specifically pointed at on the menu for our server to see. Our server, an older gentleman, came back with a glass of rosé. I politely let him know that I ordered a glass of red wine to which he apologised and went back with the rose. I did let him know it was absolutely no worries at all. Thought that was the end of the exchange - mistakes happen. However, when he returned, he very loudly commented “You know the phrase ‘the customer is always correct’? Well YOU were wrong. I wrote down rosé” and very smugly slammed down my glass. I said that I was very sorry there had been a miscommunication but I know I ordered from the back page of the menu (the red section) as I cannot drink rosé wine…to which he made some mumbled comment and left. I was left feeling utterly embarrassed and shocked by the way a stranger had spoken to me. My husband was going to complain then and there but I was scared of how this would be received given how a tiny mistake was handled. Luckily the older server finished his shift after this (perhaps that explains it) and a lovely younger gentleman served us our food. Nice food but not worth being reprimanded like a child for.

This place is not welcoming for anyone who is not “white”. The staff are racist, foul and extremely rude. Never been treated this disgustingly in any other place. This is 2024 and this kind of racism has no place in this time and not in Sheffield. Shame on you. Never stepping foot in this disgusting place.

A nice meal had here after a full day of shopping. Following a selection of delicious Starters, I had the Penne Giardiniera for main. I usually go for the Seafood Linguine but decided to switch it up - great choice! It was seasoned beautifully, every mouthful delicious and very filling - I could have had that alone without any starters! A couple of my Spinach balls were over-done but that didn't affect the overall enjoyment of the meal. The only thing that worried me was the amount of dust gathered on the light shade above my table and several others. Had the shade moved even slightly - myself and food would have been showered in this! It did make me nervous. Service was slower than I've previously experienced there, considering the restaurant wasn't busy cause it was after 7pm, but the serving staff were excellent. I'd visit again but please can the light shades be cleaned.

I nipped in for a quick lunch and the staff were great. I ordered the mushroom risotto and added truffle oil. The risotto just tasted.lile garlic. I ate it because I didn't have the time but I wouldn't ever order it again. The side salad helped.

Booked a table for birthday celebration 7/1/2024 Front of house very attentive seated straight away . Drinks food all served with a smile & friendly conversation. Tasty meal presented very well had starter & main Prawns Marinara Confit Duck /Antipasti Board Panna Cotta for desert delivered with candles & birthday wishes- great touch . Would definitely return

Morgan the assistant manage is very attentive especially as my daughter has celiac disease they have lots of gluten free options and understand cross contamination well . Will definitely return x

Mixed feelings about Carluccio's on this visit. Three items not available on arrival then rump steak not available after ordering and on arrival of the food told no chicken available for the pasta. Three did served was off good quality but portion size has shrunk and prices increased. Restaurant almost empty, others around the food hall were packed out. Staff were friendly and reasonably efficient but the place had no atmosphere. Given the unavailability of food, lack of communication and high price for shaker portions in really but sure if I'll be back.

I ordered penned aribiata,,it came with the largest pasta tubes..not really a problem apart from the fact that they were almost cold

We were greeted with a smile, which is always a good start and we were made to feel welcome immediately. Staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I'm disabled, have limited mobility, and it was refreshing to be offered a choice of seating options. The service was very prompt and efficient. The food was lovely, well presented and cooked perfectly. The restaurant is very accessible, well lit, spacious and the atmosphere is calm. We would return again to try other dishes on the menu and would definitely recommend it to family & friends. All in all, a lovely meal, in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, with helpful and friendly staff. A 5 Star review. Cannot fault it at all.

Had a lovely day at Carluccio’s Meadowhall yesterday. Great food, great staff!

A lovely atmosphere, really clean and attractive table settings . The service was very friendly , attentive and efficient. My partner and I really enjoyed all our food and drinks. I would definitely recommend the Meadowhall Carluccios . This was our first visit and we will definitely go again . A super way to spend the December Solstice.

Always amazing food and service

Pancakes & bacon were delicious. The cappuccino was just what was needed as a pick-me-up. The waiter Joe was polite & professional even though I started knife throwing ( I dropped the cutlery) he made me feel at ease with his friendly manner what a star 🌟.

Booked in advance for the 2 course Xmas menu, only to be told that they weren't serving it as they'd "run out of ingredients", and had to order from the standard menu instead - Not much of an apology, and no form of compensation for the inconvenience offered - Would have walked out of dining alone, but was with a large party

Sunday 26/11 around 3pm. I ordered Spaghetti carbonara. It arrived cold, I had to send it back to be warmed up. Received a new batch which was tough & not cooked through. It was also extremely watery (water & butter) & there was no egg in it. No taste & had to bring salt to give it taste! The 10 small pieces of bacon/ham were the worst quality! All fatty! Very disappointed & worst carbonara I have ever had! And I eat only Spaghetti Carbonara when I go to an authentic Italian restaurant. Wud have expected a typical Italian restaurant to be better than this! The waiter (young boy, possibly new?) didn’t know what Tagliatelle was! He also struggled to multitask as we had to request, a spoon as a knife & fork had been given to eat spaghetti! Educate yr staff that u eat spaghetti with a SPOON & not a KNIFE! Requested Parma cheese & the bill twice! The restaurant wasn’t very busy, but the 5 staff couldn’t assist adequately! Only 3 staff were really working. Senior staff just hung around. Ate half of it as it was tasteless! My friends lasagna was also tough as if the pasta sheets had been microwaved. Better Carluccios in London! Sad to not get the same standard at all Carluccios restaurants! Come on Carluccios, you can do better than this!

Booked a table this lunch time with a friend. Had to wait to be seated, wasn't happy with the short blonde lady who escorted us to our table, very Stern and very sharp we nearly walked back out. Then this young lady called Chloe came over to take our order. She was very friendly and professional and looked after us, totally changed my mind on this restaurant. Food very nice. Just want to give Chloe 10/10 for her excellent service

Visited for dinner last weekend and was truly amazed at the level of customer service provided. Everyone was super friendly and accommodating. The food was tasty and came quickly. Definitely one to visit when you're in Meadowhall.

Had to go to Sheffield for business and lucky me found one of my favourite restaurants. I was greeted by Ivor, the manager, really nice and funny guy and he took the time to explain me the new Christmas menu, from which I ordered the celeriac soup and the lobster and crab tortelloni, both dishes were outstanding, service was on point, polite, helpful but not intrusive. Overall a great experience. Ivor and the team can be proud of what they are doing

What a disappointment today with lunch at Carluccios, staff were great, I am a wheelchair user and there was no fuss about making a table accessible for me. The food was not great, my husband ordered Lasagne, the portion was very small, probably about 3”x4” and not very deep at all. He said the flavours were ok but just not enough actual food. I ordered the mushroom risotto with chicken the portion was ok for me but again not large by any means , plus I had ordered the chicken extra, without it there would definitely not have been enough. The waitress asked if I would like parmigiana I said yes, she smiled at me and disappeared never to be seen again. The flavour was ok but very salty and the rice was not quite cooked, crunchy bits gave the game away. We ordered dessert as we were both still hungry, my Tiramisu was good and a fair size portion, but my husbands Chocolate Bread and Butter pudding was so ridiculously small it was the thinnest slice ever probably half an inch thick and the small scoop of ice cream on top was tiny. Never again Carluccios at a cost of £70 for child size portions we are walking away and won’t be coming back. Prices higher, portions lower, we quit.

Great location and atmosphere. Portions are small and overpriced and the quality of the food isn't great. Nice place for a coffee but don't bother with the food.

We visited on a Friday night, the service was second to none, the restaurant busy but nothing was too much trouble. Food was great and the recommendations for wine to accompany the food from Morgan were cracking.

Visited with my husband and a couple of friends. We all had something different to eat and all thoroughly enjoyed everything. All the facilities were to a high standard. All the staff were really friendly. A lovely experience throughout.

Lovely breakfast had the traditional and a pot of tea. My daughter had pancakes with pancetta and maple syrup. It was so scrumptious. Met Masie again who was delightful and looked after us. Thank you.

I like Carluccios and would always come back. But ... today was different. Service not so good. Had very brusque service from a sullen waitress. No-one likes to see this. Food nice though.

I must admit I expected more. Carluccios reputation precedes it as a 'posh' Italian restaurant. The service was good, no problems there. I had a Carluccios burger, which was tasty enough but overpriced and unimpressive to look at. The wife had escalope of chicken (slightly overcooked) with parma ham, rocket leaves, and roast potatoes in a sage, white wine and pesto sauce. She loved the sauce.

Went for breakfast and it was early but what we ordered and what actually came wasn't the same , there were things missing , the place wasn't very busy at all . The waitress was very good but sempt to be on her own and was having to do everything herself including , showing people to their places, taking orders and distributing them out , had high hopes of Carluccio's but left very disappointed 😟

First time we've been, the service was friendly & helpful. The atmosphere nice. We sat inside so we were away from the hustle bustle of meadowhall food court. The food was delicious but my medium steak was well done. Asides from that we had a lovely meal there and would visit again.

This is my all time FAVOURITE restaurant in Sheffield. I had the grilled prawns with rosemary and garlic potatoes. Easily the best seafood i’ve eaten in a long while. The team was superb, especially manager Ivor, who topped up our waters and recommended a delicious nutella cheesecake for dessert! Coffees were perfect along with the whole experience, would definitely recommend! Thank you to the carluccios team :)

Called in for some lunch on Saturday, no queue and seated promptly by friendly waitress. Menus supplied and orders taken quickly. Enjoyed the Pappardelle Braised Beef Ragu which was extremely tasty. We also had Chicken Milanese and Lasagne and followed up with lovely desset - Affogato. Felt looked after, and there was no issues with food or service. Thanks very much.

Vegetarian breakfast came minus smashed avocado, roasted tomatoes and red onions. Was Luke warm at best. Very disappointing.

The new menu is lovely! This is one of our favourite places and we go there almost every Saturday evening. It's our treat to ourselves. We were not all all surprised to discover they had won the Best Restaurant in Sheffield award earlier this week. They deserve it - they work their socks off! We are already looking forward to next Saturday and what we will be eating. Congratulations to all the staff, both front of house and in the kitchen!

Had a really nice sea bass and my partner had the steak. The steak was requested to be medium and was more like well done, but otherwise nice. The staff were friendly and attentive. It wasn't too expensive. Quite a nice atmosphere early evening before it started to get busy. Would eat here again.

Greated, seated, and ordered quite efficiently, but at that point it slows down a lot. I ordered the granola - hardly worth putting in a bowl, poorly presented, but tasted ok. Yogurt was way too running, with the granola acting like a small beach for the yoghurt to roll in on. Coffee took a while even after the "granola" came out, to which I also heard another customer asking where their drinks were (for reference, it wasn't busy and they enough staff). It's in Meadowhall, so the atmosphere is never going to be great.

Exceptional service this morning by Maisie, what an absolutely lovely, friendly and professional person. Re-arranged furniture to accommodate a large powerchair. If I could give more more than 5 stars for service I would do. Thank you Maisie look forward to seeing you next time we come to Meadowhall. 😀

Antonio Carluccio would be turning in his grave if he was round now to view how Carluccio‘s has gone down since his death. I should’ve learnt from previous experiences in the last couple of years visiting for breakfast and receiving a less than satisfactory meal. However, fancying coffee yesterday, decided to give it one more go. Very sweet young server came to us and took our order. However one much smaller coffee cup. a pot of water with a clipper tea bag in cost me £3.00!.. finally receiving my order of cooked breakfast. I sent it back immediately. The poached eggs were cold, overcooked sausage and supposedly roasted tomatoes literally just been flashed on grill. With apologies from the server that was quickly returned. After I had watched from a distance, the kitchen staff, this time it was barely satisfactory. My sausage clearly microwaved as I was unable to cut into it. It was completely inedible suffice to say left on the plate. This used to be a flagship restaurant with a deep culture of a love of Italian food and preparation and I am saddened. It needs a good shake! Whilst the restaurant kindly removed the cost of my breakfast from the bill we will not be returning. Antonio carluccios revered name needs removing from this chain.

I’ve rated this 1 star based on a terrible experience. We dined for lunch on Thursday 3rd August. We sat down approx 1.30pm and the restaurant was quiet with many tables unoccupied. We were seated and left for a longer than normal period of time until we had to ask for our order to be taken. In summary being left with empty starter plates and having to ask for our mains made for a very slow and poor experience. Very forgettable! Our bill was delivered and never returned to take payment. I paid via table QR code but honestly don’t think they would have followed me out the restaurant had I not paid. As I said we sat down at 1.30 and I paid my bill at 16.08 (time checked via Apple Pay) shocking!

My husband and I visit Carluccios regularly. The quality of the food is always good...the attention and efficiency of the staff is consistently excellent...the ambience of Italy seems present in Meadowhall! Always a pleasure especially after a seriosly hard mornings shopping! Well done!!!

This restaurant is at the upper level of the Oasis food complex at Meadowhall. You get the idea of what a type of place it is when you are asked to keep your cutlery having used them for your starter. From the outside this looked like a better place than that. The waiting staff were working really hard because of the rapid turnover of customers and tables to be cleaned. No smiles or small talk from the waiting staff. The food was OK but nothing special. The beef in my ragu was very tough. There were no parmesan shavings on the green salad as stated on the menu. This is not a bad place but when you are spending almost £60 for a quick meal, you expect a bit better on quality.

Great service and a lovely meal. The ragu my partner had was lush apparently and the vegan arrabiata was one of the best I've ever had - perfect pasta, spicy sauce and an amazing garlic/breadcrumb/sultana/hazelnut topping to die for.

We know Carluccio's. We have been there often. Heathrow T5, Bristol Cribbs Causeway, St Pancras Station and other places. We know the offer and that's why we return But Sheffield Medowhall was brilliant and the best so far! Why? because of Becky, our excellent waiter. Nothing for her was too much trouble and she always had a smile for us. Perfect customer focus and a huge credit to Carluccio's.

We came for my friend's 40th birthday, we sat at our table the waitress was very nice and friendly and took our drinks order. We then started to order mains, now I have a severe nut allergy which she then said the manager would have...

Set menu, bruscheta, just toast with lots of tomatos.not restaurant standard.Chicken,breaded. boring, dry. More tomatos and lettuce. Dessert tiramisu. Good. Staff excellent. Disappointed with meal.

Went up medowhall for a day out first time at restaurant and was very disappointed with food I had some squid in sauce and it was hard and overcooked my sisters food was overcooked and brother in law had something and it looked horrible everthing wasn't very nice paid alot of money and not worth it won't go again and the beer prices was disgusting nearly £6 for a bottle of beer you need to sort those prices

The food was good, best calamaria I have ever had. Unfortunately my daughter started to choke on a mussel but with a few bavk slaps we managed to sort it. A member of staff just looked and then turned back to her conversation with another staff member -, I thought they would have a least checked if she was ok or needed a glass of water - it was not busy with less than 5 tables occupied - another customer did ask if she was ok.

Been going to carluccios for years, never changes, the best breakfast in meadowhall by far, and even though I have issues eating because of cancer treatment they always are accommodating, 5 star without even hesitating.

Bit disappointed that there was no kids menu for breakfast and thought 7.50 was a bit steep for 1 slice of bread and scrambled egg. My eggs royale however were lovely.

Great food become very expensive and portion sizes have shrunk been maybe 15-20 times but will be a while before we go again due to cost and shrinking of portions to save money, also didn't have raspberry j2o for my daughter.

We eat here often taking advantage of 20% discount recieved with bill. You have to use it in 14 days but that is no hardship as it's so good

(May 2023) I feel like Carluccio's has lost its way, or perhaps it's just this one (my local Carluccio's was closed down). The food is rather mediocre, and while the Carluccio's of old had a real authentic "Italian" feel to them, this is just a restaurant shoed into a corner of the big shopping centre. A Carluccio's used to be a nice evening dinner, a great spot for lunch, or even a date night venue. I wouldn't recommend any of those at this one though.
