I went last week. It's a Saturday night so it's crowded, took a while until our waiter comes to order. But the food are fantastic!! Especially the Panna cotta, I love the combination of milk flavour and passion fruit syrup on the side The waiter serving us is really friendly (although the surrounding is too loud I can't remember his name, sorry!!), staff here will be aware of your dietary requirements and allergies too I'm glad to celebrate my birthday here!

Firstly, the food was quality. We had the vegan pasta and pizza - it was lovely. However, the portion sizes were small and prices are high. Our meat eating party were more satisfied with their portions. The pizza should of had more sauce and the pasta should of been double the amount of pasta. The vegan portions should be bigger as it is less filling generally. All of us were dissatisfied with the chocolate mousse both vegan and non. Staff were very friendly. Atmosphere was great. If the portions were bigger and the desert was better it would be 5/5 all round and would come again.

This good dining experience was 100% from him! Very enthusiastic, humorous, kindly recommending dishes, and thoughtfully arranged birthday surprises. This restaurant was amazing and the food was great. The staff were very welcoming and made sure they catered to everyone’s needs . Chai ( hope I spelt it right )served us and did an amazing job . He was very friendly and made sure we were okay the whole night . I would highly recommend coming here . Love it here and I will be back

Went here with the family for my daughter's birthday. When I booked, I was asked if it was for an occasion so I put it was for a birthday. But I'm not sure why because there was no difference in our table to anyone else's? We got to the restaurant for our time 6:15 but our table wasn't ready yet so we got a drink at the bar. I thought the drinks were expensive. £28 for 1 pint, 1 glass pinot grigio, 1 lemonade and 1 fruit juice. Our table was nice and the lady who served us was friendly. Food was 'nice' but not spectacular. I ordered a creamy chicken pasta dish which, even for my 'British palate' was massively under seasoned. Also, if you're going to charge £18.50 for a fairly basic dish like creamy chicken pasta, I kinda want it to be delicious. But this was just 'nice'. After the main course we ordered desserts, one of which was ice cream. They took ages to arrive and when they did the ice cream was quite melted so they had obviously been sat waiting. All in all it was a nice meal but I wouldn't rush back to pay those prices for that food.

First time visiting Piccolino and the experience was rather disappointing. Food was alright, nothing special about it, probably wouldn’t want to order them again. However, the tiramisu was surprisingly delicious, very moist and reasonably sweet. Cocktails were good as well, fresh and creative. When it comes to service, it was actually awful. The server was always in a rush, they tried to take a menu from the table when we didn’t even stop ordering and were still looking at the menu. Very unfriendly and unprofessional service, especially how plates were literally “dropped” on the table. Probably not coming again.

Great evening, very attentive staff and food tasted great catering for a vegan, a veggie child and a meat eater. Food was hot and tasty and service quick and friendly. Great Italian singing too!

The best restaurant in Sheffield

Absolutely lovely food and one of the best pizzas I ever had. Service was good , but It was too busy, so we waited quite a long time.

Food was lovely, but staff kept coming over all the time. We were waiting for a friend to arrive before we ordered, it got a bit annoying as they had spare tables

It was an ok meal, but there wasn't the wow factor you'd have expected for the price. The service wasn't great from our waitress. The food came out before our drinks, and she wasn't very attentive even when it got quieter and there were fewer people in. My partner really enjoyed her lasagna, and it was a good portion. I had the butternut squash ravioli, which I thought tasted a little bland and was quite a small portion. The decor inside the restaurant is very nice. It was very loud inside, though, which is a bit overwhelming if you want to be able to hear each other speak

I just spent a fabulous evening here with my husband, son and elderly mother. It had been quite a while since I last visited. The new decor is very tasteful, the music was just at the right level, the lighting was perfect, not too dark not too bright. Every single member of staff was friendly and accommodating and the food was delicious. We will be back

After being turned away from Ego Mediterranean restaurant we found ourselves at the Door to Piccolino whereupon the staff were excellent and offered us a table for four. Excellent service food and ambience. So thank-you Ego for cancelling our reservation and forcing us to find this wonderful Italian restaurant.

Came here for valentines and was served by Ricardo and Antonio. Absolutely impeccable service, incredibly tentative but not imposing. Ricardo recommended an excellent wine pairing for our meal and Antonio has a great energy that was up-lifting. Wonderful wine selection, fantastic raw fish starter and more importantly, the best cut of meat I have ever tasted. 100/10. Ricardo was great and so was the food. Grazzi!

We had a wonderful early Valentine’s Day meal here!! We were served by the lovely Zsanett, who was so friendly and helpful and made the experience so nice! Will definitely be coming back.

Manager really went out his way to get us a seat whilst freezing, waiting for a train. All the staff were great and really friendly, Even though we only had a pizza, side and a few drinks, we were treated like royalty. We would highly recommend and we will definitely return for a full meal.

Exceptional visit, very stylish and welcoming atmosphere first time we’ve been since it’s been refurbished fabulous Fabios very attentive, polite and bubbly host not just with us but witnessed he gave the same care to other customers too. Plenty of delightful options to choose from we came to celebrate a birthday. Generous portions, starters we had the calamari, which was light and nicely seasoned. Myself I enjoyed bruschetta gamberoni very flavourful and plenty of topping for the price. Moving onto mains, all were beautifully displayed carbonara nicely seasoned with crispy pancetta, sauce were rich and creamy. My partner had the ravioli di gigancio, it was awesome, fresh and vibrant with plenty of filling. Our other companion had the ox cheek, phenomenal the meat melted in your mouth cooked to perfection, bursting with flavour, fresh veg and creamy mash to compliment the dish we highly recommend as an alternative dish to pasta. Furthermore as a treat I decided to try the tiramisu martini, beautiful flavours very creamy and the coffee didn’t overpower the chocolate which was silky smooth. Just before leaving my partner were surprised with a complimentary dessert for his birthday, lovely touch and made even more special by Fabios singing happy birthday in Italian, certainly wouldn’t mind hearing him sing again thank you for your wonderful hospitality and look forward to coming back again.

Always impeccable service, you are treated like family here! Food is out of this world, the atmosphere is one of the best in Sheffield. Our server Roma was happy and amazing as always. There’s nothing I can fault. Please go and try if you haven’t and get the aranchini and truffle pasta!!!! 🍝 Thank you, thank you, thank you, as always you are all outstanding! ❤️

Started off as a nice experience with a good atmosphere. Tomato garlic bread was really nice and they made the effort to make a cocktail that wasn’t on the menu. Until the mains came… Quite literally the worst tagliatelle bolognese I have ever seen or had. The food was cold and the tagliatelle was uncooked and still hard. Hardly touched the food as it was a massive disappointment. Had the cheek to try and charge nearly £20 each for something that wasn’t as nice as a shop bought microwaveable ready meal. We didn’t initially want to complain about the food but it was unfair to pay for something of such poor quality. The waiter noticed we weren’t eating the food and asked what was wrong. After we explained he took the food away and asked if we wanted something else off the menu. By this point we were well past it so instead waited 20 minutes for a bill which never came until we asked again. They supplemented the 2 drinks due to the poor quality food but left the food on the bill. I am physically unable to comprehend why I am paying for the things that we didn’t enjoy and hardly even touched rather than the things we actually did? When we explained this to the waiter he became increasing more rude and ignorant before going over to the other side of the restaurant to talk about us with other staff members who we visibly saw looking and laughing. I am also struggling to understand what on gods green earth is funny about their absolutely ‘anging food. Never again thank you very much.

It was a good evening. Service was pretty slow to take drinks, lots of faffing about with pre orders, cutlery for those with starters, different serving staff coming up and asking questions etc. Food was tasty but I would say small portions, expensive for what we got. This was a work meal, I am not sure I would choose it again. It was not a seamless evening which is what I would expect.

Went out to Piccolino for a few drinks with my friends and was seated at the bar. Bartender kyle made the whole experience!! gave us such amazing recommendations and made us feel at home. would love to come again

Celebrated a graduation here recently and the whole party throughly enjoyed. Gorgeous food and excellent service. Relaxed environment that didn’t rush us, but all food served in good time. Starters & mains were spot on! Sadly no room for pudding, hopefully next time!

Really love Chris. Like I think you could just go eat at this place for Chris. The food is minimal and healthy and tasty. Portions are substantial but not large. Thought that a few of the meals needed more salt but there’s salt and pepper on the tables for a reason. Kitchen staff looked super organised as well.

Pre theatre meal this evening was absolutely delicious. Would definitely recommend the Wagyu Lasagne. The best lasagne I've had even though I've been to Italy recently!! Food and service excellent and mindful of our time constraints due to visiting the theatre later.

Had a visit here a couple of months ago and enjoyed a lovely dinner alongside my family in a nicely decorated restaurant. I tried the lasagna and it was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. Will definitely visit again in the near future.

We had a fabulous family get together and could not have chosen a better venue, the food was superb and we were in no way rushed. Truly exceptional service throughout and would highly recommend, and will definitely be back.

The days of people paying through the nose for dreadful food just because it's a nice looking establishment are at an end as competitive resteraunts actually deliver really good food at a reasonable price. 5 and a half quid for a bottle of water, 12 quid for a glass of wine that isn't great, 8 french fries in a tin bowl that cost 5 times as much as McDonald's chips, and a pizza that had hard stale dough, it definitely wasn't fresh. This place and the ivy are archaic and if they can't compete with places like grand plaza then it's adiós and good riddance.

6 people. No complaints about food. Staff were attentive. Wine was a little overpriced, I felt, especially by the glass. None the less, we all enjoyed the evening.

Very good Italian cuisine with al dente pasta which is rare in England 😄

The steak left much to be desired. While it was cooked adequately, the portion was disappointingly small, barely satisfying as a main course. To make matters worse, the accompanying peppercorn sauce—often the highlight of such a dish—was served in a measly spoonful, leaving the plate dry and the flavors unbalanced. For the price, the experience felt underwhelming, with both substance and satisfaction sorely lacking.

Bang average. Excellent decor and surroundings but let down by medicore service, slow waiting and food was just ok. Over £20 spent on 2 brusetta starters which was 1 piece of sliced sourdough shared between us, half burnt and about 5 tomatoes. Service charge added by default to any table. Just feels like they know they can get a good profit due to location/looks where everything else will just do. 25 mins for desert, one wasn't even warmed as it was supposed to be. Won't be returning

No crackers to compliment our Christmas menu and no fizz on arrival (as advertised) thy did apologise though and give us a bottle to take home . We asked for a bigger table and the begrudgingly gave us one even though the restaurant was very quiet . Food good , but temperature cool . I was given what I ordered then it was taken of me and given to my friend …. Very bizarre . Cost me £52 in total and felt expensive for the service we received …. Smiling , pleasant staff might help too!!!

I've been coming here many years, and piccolinos is my "go-to" place. Although recently the wait times have been getting longer and longer. I'm currently sitting here. 1.5h awaiting my starter.

Outstanding restaurant, beautifully presented/done up. The best customer service I can recall ever having. Food was beautiful. If I ever find myself back in Sheffield I'll be back here. The staff hospitality really made an unforgettable impression on me and I'll always remember this place. Thank you guys for making it a core wonderful memory and experience for me! Erion was amazing and all staff are!!

Piccolino used to be one of my favourite restaurants in Sheffield so I picked it for my birthday yesterday but unfortunately it was a very disappointing dinner. To start with they didn’t have 3 of the wines we wanted so wa had to go just for a random one as the choice was very limited. Then We ordered olives calamari and courgette fries for starters. Olives were good and calamari were good although we didn’t get a lemon with it. The courgette fries were cold, and also a small portion compared to what it used to be and what’s e had had in Manchester and what can even be seen in photos of other reviews from just a few days ago. After mains we ordered our mains, or.. shall I say - attempted to…We had had a delicious truffle lasagna in Piccolino in Manchester a few days prior and were thinking about it ever since. That was also one of the reasons we picked this place for my birthday. So we ask for that lasa gna for our mains, But guess what? They didn’t have any lasagna left. Then we were like okay.. let’s have the truffle pasta, since we can’t stop thinking about those truffles. No truffle pasta either. In fact no truffle anything. So we got two fillet steaks.. They used to make this amazing mushroom sauce some time ago but not anymore, this time it’s just truffle butter which honestly did nothing for me. We both ordered two exactly the same steaks medium well done. My boyfriends steak was great pink in the middle and juicy. My steak though was tough chewy and very well done. I Did mention this to the waitress when she asked but couldn’t be bothered to wait for a new one since we waited so long for our mains. Besides she didn’t offer that.. the best thing about this dinner was a surprise birthday cake with a candle and staff singing happy birthday to me. Very lovely and special and the cake was surprisingly very nice. Apart from not offering me a new steak out waitress was very lovely and we did really like her so we still paid the service charge although to be fair the kitchen really messed up that night.

Absolutely delicious food albeit my main was severely limited in amount.. The service was on point but this was supposed to be an enjoyable but rare night out with my daughter… Understandably this isn’t a cheap place to eat.. Sadly apart from our greeting there was little cheer from the table service we received. Not that I expect to be entertained by the waiting service. So unfortunately reduced the value of the review I have given. Remarkably restaurants in Britain are adopting the practice of service charges on the final bill. This also is unacceptable.. Staff should be paid sufficiently and rewards for good service should be at the discretion of the customer..

After trying several less busy restaurants in the city piccolinos was the only one who could offer us a table in an already very busy place. It was a busy vibrant atmosphere, good friendly service. Risotto was cooked to perfection. Although it was very busy it was still easy to hear a conversation, very mixed age. Will definitely return when in Sheffield.

First time visiting yesterday for our 25th anniversary and what a lovely treat it was. The food was beautiful, the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere and the service was exceptional. It was so nice that we got to enjoy our courses and wine without being rushed. We can't wait to visit again. I highly recommend

Great Italian chain restaurant. Gets busy and service can be slow but grab another glass of vino and chill with some olives - life's too short to stress...Been visiting this place for 15 years - never had a bad meal. Enjoy!

Disappointing evening. Last night wasn’t our first visit to this restaurant. I mention this as it gives broader opinion than a one time visit. Service was ok, can’t fault that. Apart from a wrong drink brought to the table. When sent back and asked for it removed from the bill. Sure enough it was there, but wasn’t paid for. The issue last night (5-10-24) was food quality and quantity. I don’t believe in huge wasteful portions. But I do believe in feeding an adult more than a three year old child. In question is the lasagne one of our friends ordered. When paying £16.50 for a pizza, which is a fair size tbh. You would expect an Italian restaurant to be good at these. Like I said we have visited this restaurant on several occasions. Previously ordering the same food as last night. Diavola pizza, seafood pasta. These were just sub standard to many similar restaurants we have eaten at. I’m not saying don’t go to this restaurant at all. But what I am saying is do expect high prices which we come to expect in this day and age. Yes before you keyboard warriors say we should have checked the prices before going. We already knew what we were letting ourselves in for. I do however expect quality food for quality prices.

Never been to Sheffield before, 20 of us down for a 2 day work gig. Was quite full on, so we were glad to cut loose in the town when we completed. This place had been highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Possibly one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced. Scallops, Rigatoni Bolognese then a perfectly set pannacotta. Great wine list and amazing service by friendly and beautiful staff. Comp' Lemoncellos to round off the night. Amazing restaurant. Top Business.

Not for me won't be going again, no Lasagna in an Italian restaurant on Tuesaday night at 6.30, everytime I visit there's never a full menu.

I loved the calf liver. Hadn’t had this since I was a child many years ago. Burrata salad was also very good We were a large group so service was a bit slow but overall it was a great meal.

This was our second visit after enjoying the food & hospitality earlier in the year. The restaurant was quite busy already at 6pm, & there was a nice atmosphere. We were very well looked after by Erion, who was charming & attentive, without being too fussy, & was able to answer all our questions about the menu. The food was well presented & delicious, yes it was a bit bit pricey, but I don’t think much more so than many of the other city centre eateries. I will definitely be returning.

Me and my girlfriend absolutely love Piccolinos across their locations, they never fail to disappoint. Our server, Erion, made our celebratory evening meal so great. He was very friendly, polite and accommodating us. He’s an especially good singer of happy birthday. Erion, thank you for adding to an already brilliant evening.
