Piccolino in Sheffield

Great Italian chain restaurant. Gets busy and service can be slow but grab another glass of vino and chill with some olives - life's too short to stress...Been visiting this place for 15 years - never had a bad meal. Enjoy!

Disappointing evening. Last night wasn’t our first visit to this restaurant. I mention this as it gives broader opinion than a one time visit. Service was ok, can’t fault that. Apart from a wrong drink brought to the table. When sent back and asked for it removed from the bill. Sure enough it was there, but wasn’t paid for. The issue last night (5-10-24) was food quality and quantity. I don’t believe in huge wasteful portions. But I do believe in feeding an adult more than a three year old child. In question is the lasagne one of our friends ordered. When paying £16.50 for a pizza, which is a fair size tbh. You would expect an Italian restaurant to be good at these. Like I said we have visited this restaurant on several occasions. Previously ordering the same food as last night. Diavola pizza, seafood pasta. These were just sub standard to many similar restaurants we have eaten at. I’m not saying don’t go to this restaurant at all. But what I am saying is do expect high prices which we come to expect in this day and age. Yes before you keyboard warriors say we should have checked the prices before going. We already knew what we were letting ourselves in for. I do however expect quality food for quality prices.

Never been to Sheffield before, 20 of us down for a 2 day work gig. Was quite full on, so we were glad to cut loose in the town when we completed. This place had been highly recommended and we were not disappointed. Possibly one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever experienced. Scallops, Rigatoni Bolognese then a perfectly set pannacotta. Great wine list and amazing service by friendly and beautiful staff. Comp' Lemoncellos to round off the night. Amazing restaurant. Top Business.

A great location and super service. Average pizza and lasagne seemed to lack meat. Expensive for what it was.

Not for me won't be going again, no Lasagna in an Italian restaurant on Tuesaday night at 6.30, everytime I visit there's never a full menu.

I loved the calf liver. Hadn’t had this since I was a child many years ago. Burrata salad was also very good We were a large group so service was a bit slow but overall it was a great meal.

Me and my girlfriend absolutely love Piccolinos across their locations, they never fail to disappoint. Our server, Erion, made our celebratory evening meal so great. He was very friendly, polite and accommodating us. He’s an especially good singer of happy birthday. Erion, thank you for adding to an already brilliant evening.

This was our second visit after enjoying the food & hospitality earlier in the year. The restaurant was quite busy already at 6pm, & there was a nice atmosphere. We were very well looked after by Erion, who was charming & attentive, without being too fussy, & was able to answer all our questions about the menu. The food was well presented & delicious, yes it was a bit bit pricey, but I don’t think much more so than many of the other city centre eateries. I will definitely be returning.

Me and my partner visited this restaurant over the weekend only to have an amazing experience. We were served by Ellie who was very polite, friendly and attentive. The food was spectacular and if we could have had more we would have. Going out to new places all the time I get a lot of different servers but the service we received here will not be forgotten. Absolutely great evening. From very warm welcome at the entrance through delightful food experience. If you’re in Sheffield looking for Italian food at its best - look no further. Starters - Calamari - simply great, Main Dishes - Lasagna, Linguine Al Gamberoni, Casarecce Pollo all so lovely, full of flavour and a decent portion size, absolutely mouthwatering. All the staff are friendly, easy to talk to and so helpful. Our waiter Erion was so nice, looking after us like royalty, and so attentive to our needs, with great recommendations. So lovely, what a fantastic birthday night celebration, and to have the staff appear with a birthday cake and sing, what a night. Well done Erion, we'll visit again soon.

After 18 days of burgers, salmon, haggis and lambs, finally real Italian food! Thanks to Erion and all the staff! Excellent pizza but also lasagna and carbonara!

Lovely restaurant. We were walk ins on a Saturday and they had space for us! The food was really delicious but be aware that the wine is on the expensive side. It would be a restaurant I would go back to for an occasion. Really lovely place and the staff were nice and friendly. Definitely recommend !!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of tasting the best steak I've ever had in my life. Served with a blue cheese sauce. I'll definitely be back to try other dishes.

Food was the best we've ever had and we've eaten in many Italians. Staff were spot on and attentive and friendly. My daughters loved their food. Cocktails were delicious and great range of drinks.

We have been visiting here since day one but haven't been for a while because of other commitments but now we have stated calling in again. It doesn't seem as busy as it use to be but what place is since Covid? I noticed there are some new staff but some of my favourite staff are still there. We had a lovely meal and a bottle of rose white and were well looked after by Gianni and Zsanett. This is still the best Italian restaurant in Sheffield.

Absolutely lovely meal at Piccolino’s to celebrate my Mother’s birthday. The food was superb and the staff couldn’t have done more to accommodate us. We found Il Piccolino as it seems to be the only restaurant open after 9pm on a Saturday in Sheffield!! It’s a gem! Fantastic food! The service was great and Fabio is the best, so friendly and professional. Totally recommend this place!

Over the past 10 years of visiting this (chain) restaurant we’ve always been welcomed, accepted and very much appreciated. Today, however, it felt like we were a chore, we couldn’t get a table in the terrace although there were lots! We were treated like second class citizens because regulars were sat next to us…I ordered a pizza and the waiting staff said that ‘I couldn’t handle it’ because it was spicy 🌶️- errrrm nope my child could eat it and did toward the end. They wouldn’t swap my child order because it meant costing them cash and the service was generally dreadful. We had to help other guests with information about wc and we had to keep going to the bar for drinks… o know but £160 for 2 pizza and 2 bowls of pasta should get service 🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Brilliant night. Gianni, Fabio and Zanetta were brilliant. Probably the best restaurant I have been to in Sheffield in a very long time!! Will definitely come back again soon! Could not recommend more!

Arrived on a busy Saturday evening without a booking with a very hungry swimmer. No problem accommodating us and couldn't have been more obliging. Vito, our waiter, was exceptional, catering to our gluten free requirements without any fuss. The food came promptly and tasted fabulous. Altogether a very memorable evening. If you’re in Sheffield looking for Italian food at its best - look no further. Starters - Parmigiana and Burrata - simply great. Fish - both Orata and Branzino - delicious and flavoursome. Alicia, our waiter, brought a great joy to a professional service.

If you are in Sheffield and dream about a delicious Italian evening with marvelous cuisine in a friendly family atmosphere, you have to visit Piccolino Sheffield. They are the best! Italy in mid of England. We’ve celebrated our son’s graduation there. Our great evening started at the desk. Fabio, restaurant manager, offered us a Prosecco when waiting for the table and in a moment offered a table in the front terrace. We were served by Alicia - nice and very professional help. She recommended us best starters, food and wine. The kitchen did their best. I enjoyed Orata al forno fish - the best fish I’ve ever eaten. 😋 With Gavi di Gavi wine - delicious 😋 Thank you Team. 😘

I went with a friend to Piccolino, upon arriving we realized that we made a good choice. We returned there twice in just one week. I would like to leave a comment praising Fábio's service, we have never been as well received anywhere else as we were by him. Rating 10 for Fábio. We'll be back for more, for sure!

Ricardo was awesome he provided a great amaretto sour that was not on the menu of cocktails. The service was second to none and the fresh bread was just unbelievable. The main dish I ordered was perfect and the parmesan cheese that accompanied was simply a delight. I really enjoyed the food atmosphere and music. Will definitely return to the restaurant.

I was here recently and everything was delicious, but what stood out was how attentive the lady who served us was. Her name was Andrea and she was a lovely petite blonde who had a smile on her face all the time, she was extremely polite and knowledgeable and offered us some very good suggestions. She has very fine taste in food, also having lived in Italy for a while and knows what to recommend, especially when it comes to wine pairing. Will come back!

Yesterday was a special birthday celebration. We decided to spend it at Piccolinos. We were not disappointed. From the beginning to the end it was a memorable experience.. We started at the bar with drinks. Staff were friendly approachable and everyone had a smile on their face. I was served by Fabio. We received VIP treatment from start to finish. The food was absolutely divine.. I fancied some meat so I ordered the ribeye.. We also ordered meatballs & pizza... Over all it was a memorable night looking forward to return to Piccolinos

Good Italian restaurant but cost is in higher side. Food quality is amazing if your taste buds love Italian cuisine.

My friend and I visited for the first time yesterday before going to the Lyceum and were welcomed warmly by the staff. We were 15 minutes early for our booking but offered our table which we took. We ordered a Limoncello spritz each which was lovely and ordered starters and mains. We shared a classic bruschetta and a pane selection. The bruschetta was slightly over done but the flavours and ingredients were good. Our mains arrived quite quickly after our starter, the Spaghetti Frutti Mare and Casarecce Pollo. Both were very good although my friend said she thought the chicken in the Casarecce was chargrilled and hers didn't appear to be. Overall we enjoyed our food. The portion sizes were good and clearly fresh, quality ingredients were used. There is plenty of choice on the menu and everything coming out to the tables around us looked good. Our server Maciej was really attentive and looked after us during our visit.

Unfortunately, we chose the salad. It was over £15. It was considered a main meal. Goats cheese salad with the tiniest amount of goats cheese, the tiniest amount of lettuce etc. As a starter you would have considered it to be small. We.politely said that although it was tasty it was applingly small. The waitress said she would report it to her manager. She then said her manager would come and see us which he didn't. We had to rush as had tickets for the crucible. Both left skint and starving. I rarely negative reviews but have to comment on this as I felt we were robbed. And there was no follow up.

Didn’t disappoint! The food, service and atmosphere was top tier which I find this total combination lacking in many restaurants these days. Can't wait to return to try out more dishes. They have lovely staff who are attentive and friendly too.

This was our first visit to Piccolinos and it won't be our last ... Great selection of really good food with friendly attentive staff. Great location in the heart of Sheffield.

Went back to Piccolino Sheffield after 4 or 5 years and it was pleasing to see the same managers, Fabio and Gianni in the restaurant. Overall a great experience, the food quality was excellent, and so the service. What made this experience super was the Pinot Grigio Torre Orientale recommended by Fabio, a great wine! Still one of my favourite restaurant in Sheffield.

Nice food, but slow service and the price point is a little high.

Came here with my beautiful girlfriend after our favourite restaurant was sadly closed. On entering, atmosphere and design are top tier, a really well thought out and executed restaurant design that was welcoming and warm. Staff were courteous and polite. Menu is really impressive, massive selection and it’s presented beautifully. For our starter we had the garlic bread and the foccacia, it was genuinely brilliant and flawless. Perfect portions and the side dressings just worked perfectly, we recommend ANYONE to have this. For our main, my partner had a pasta dish and I had a prawn dish. Unfortunately although both these meals were good, they weren’t really that impressive. Although tasty, it didn’t exactly wow us and especially with the £28.50 price tag on my prawn dish which although was impressive, didn’t warrant it being so expensive. The starters were amazing, but we came away slightly disappointed from the mains. We didn’t have any desserts, but they all looked splendid when they were coming out. Overall, it was decent - But with a £70 bill, we did expect a bit more.

I had an early dinner at Piccolino in Sheffield. I ordered Arancini and Calamari for starters, and it came out exquisitely cooked. The squid was soft in texture, but the batter was very light and crispy. For my main course, I had Linguine Gamberoni. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The seasoning was light and well balance, and you can taste the shrimp’s freshness. I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Fabio, and he made sure that the food went out on time and well presented. I am so grateful for the service.
