A friend and I returned for a second visit on a 3 day stay in Sheffield as we enjoyed our first visit so much. La Luna is better than any similar restaurants I've been to in Oxford. The staff were particularly charming.

Nice cozy restaurant.We all had different meals,they were very nice,(pizza was a bit crispy.) service was great. Vegan options.

Popped in for an authentic Italian dish. I wasn't disappointed. I had bruschetta and lamb with red wine. The flavours were authentic and the food ample. The staff were very amiable and we struck up a good rapport. It's a cosy place with an upstairs if you prefer a quiet do. I really enjoyed this meal experience. It's a yes from me.

Excellent garlic bread and pizza. Very good tiramisu. A large group staff coped well. BYO a bonus.

Love this place, always coming back for birthdays and special occasions. Good for dates or large gatherings. Plenty of vegetarian options, and a BYOB policy which should be taken advantage of! Friendly staff and lovely food, I'd recommend the calzone. Parking around the back as well.

La Luna is my favourite restaurant in Sheffield! The food is always delicious and the service is great, staff are lovely and welcoming. The restaurant itself is cosy and has authentic Italian vibes. Would recommend to everyone!

Ricotta and spinach & ricotta where was the cheese? Full of garlic. Worst I ever had. Baked mushrooms. Has on the past. Fab. Not tonight. No cheese. Maybe no delivery. Don’t want to go again

The service was quick pleasant and just the right amount of attention. The food was pretty good apart from one pudding- Lemon Tart that was bland and not very lemony. Apart from that - great!

I have been coming to this restaurant with my family about 8 years and we love it. Byo wine is a massive bonus and food is priced fairly. Staff are always very friendly and food arrives quickly. Would definitely recommend.

Had a great experience here on New year's eve. It was very busy so the food took a bit longer than ideal to come to our table but when it came it was delicious. We took items from the vegan menu and they were all very delicious. Do suggest this is a very good place to eat if you are vegetarian or vegan.

A lovely Graduation celebration. Lots of meals on the menu. We'll cooked, tasty food. If only we'd known about this place earlier, it could have become our regular. Give it a try!

Like the friendly relaxed atmosphere. Typical Italian food. But don't forget to look at the specials on the boards. Bring your own booze which, to me, is a big advantage especially with a Sainsburys local just down the road. 😊 It does get busy, which is a testament to the food, so booking is advisable.

Food I’d give a 5 out of 5 but the service and especially the cleanliness a 1 or 2 pushing it. Really grubby. Actually felt dirty when I left!!! In my new outfit too. Quite disappointed overall.

Came here for a family dinner, 4 of us were vegan and there was plenty of choice - just be sure to ask for the separate menu as they aren’t listed on the main one. Food was good, it was a Saturday night so a bit slow as it was busy but that’s expected, it’s clearly quite popular.

Amazing visit as usual service is class and food always on point!!

We booked a table for Tuesday evening thinking we probably didn't need to with it being mid week. We expected to turn up with perhaps just us being there but as it turned out it was nice and full. We thought that was a good sign. We had calimari and garlic mushrooms for starters with sea bass, seafood risotto fillet steak and a pizza served as a calzone for mains. Everything was delicious and piping hot. Service was nice and friendly. We will definitely be returning, Thank you for a lovely evening.

Early dinner for three on Monday evening. Restaurant quiet at that time. Lovely attentive service. Regular menu and daily specials on chalk board. Drinks served or bring your own. Very good quality food. Nica atmosphere. Recommended.

Friendly & popular little Italian on Ecclesall Road South. Fairly standard menu, though a bit light on vegetarian options, but the dishes we had last night were excellent - tender & tasty grilled artichokes on flatbread as a starter, a substantial plate of sea bass and accompanying roast potatoes and veg, and an equally generous sized dish of homemade cannelloni, plus a rocket and Parmesan salad. Service was really quick and warm despite the busy evening, and the place has a friendly atmosphere: perhaps just a bit noisy (lots of hard surfaces!) till it quietened down a bit after 8.30. It’s worth noting that despite the big BYOB sign outside (£2 corkage per bottle) La Luna does have a decent short wine list. A nice place, and one to add to your list.

Service was welcoming and friendly, pizza was average, wine good, atmosphere a bit generic. Generally recommendable but not outstanding.

Fabulous service, dealt with our food intolerances very well, MUSTAFA in particular was extremely attentive and nice. Highly recommended. Great night out and can take your own alcohol.

Unfortunately, after booking a table for four, and being very excited in trying out this restaurant, our experience was not great. We arrived on time and were seated at our table, we poured out wines and ordered the food. After approximately 1hr 20mins, we had still not received any food. In this time, roughly 5 more parties arrived, which resulted in the restaurant having to re shuffle tables/chairs to accommodate. We then decided to cancel our order (which hadn't even made the kitchen) and go elsewhere. Very disappointed with the service and the organisation of the restaurant. Luckily for us, we managed to walk up the road and get a last minute table and get some food, otherwise, a nice planned evening 'out out' would have resulted in a greasy kebab! - Poor service. - Over booked with people. - Food quality - Unknown!

Only party in the restaurant, so not a lot of atmosphere at that time but everything else about the whole experience was spot on

DO NOT park in the car park they say you can use. You will likely receive a parking fine of £100 (60 if you pay in advance). I was there in December and have just received a fine despite giving the restaurant my car registration details. I appealed based on this but have just been told that they don't accept the appeal. This has resulted in a VERY expensive meal so it is unlikely I will be returning to La Luna as I was falsely told I was able to park in the car park behind. This is clearly not the case so expect a fine.

Had an enjoyable meal for 3. Seafood, pork and pizza dishes were all very good value. Prices were good and staff very friendly. Restaurant was full on a Tuesday evening.

No connection with staff. Fast food service. Italian atmosphere expected but not delivered. Would not revisit. Shame

My local Italian restaurant. Visited many times over the years. Has changed hands several times but food has remained fairly constant in quality. Fairly cheap as well. The best part about it though is that its BYOB which leads to a huge money saving as many restaurants charge at least £20 for house wine nowadays. Would recommend a visit to anyone who's in the area.

Favourite restaurant ever, very authentic Italian food. Me and my partner go there at least once a month. We have been to many other restaurants in Sheffield and around but this one by far is the best!. Definitely try the Calzone or the spicy sausage risotto. The calamari and mushrooms al forno are our favourite starters 😋

Beautiful original quaint restaurant. BYOB for small corkage fee. Meals like Nonna used to make 🥰 Slight error on order between waiting staff and kitchen due to malfunctioning ticket machine (explained in full by attentive staff) and looked after very well. Highly recommended if you want an original experience and support an independent. Not for you if you prefer large chain regurgitated clinical places! Food cooked to order. Food allergies catered for safely including gluten free 👍

Nice enough atmosphere and service but pretty average food. I was expecting freshly made pasta but it wasn’t any better that home cooked.

My husband had the special which was crab and lobster pasta. Looked lovely but was extremely hot with chilli. No mention of that on menu. Only able to eat half of it owing to extreme heat from chillies.

If you've not been here, why not?!?? It's a BYO so get a decent bottle of wine, get a table booked and enjoy the most authentic Italian food I've eaten outside of Italy!

Had a relaxed meal with a friend for his birthday. The decor is quintessential of any small independent Italian restaurant which I’m a big fan of for it’s quirky nature and small tables make it great for a meal with a friend or a date with your other half. Absolutely delicious authentic Risotto Nero was one of the best Risotto I’ve eaten outside Italy and a generous portion beautifully presented and served quickly. Tiramisu was spot on too so would absolutely recommend for authentic, flavourful Italian cuisine which was very reasonably priced and great value for the quality. Lovely Italian coffee finished a very pleasant meal. Service was a little slow but it seemed an unseasonably busy Monday night and it did mean we had a relaxed meal with plenty of time to chat and catch up. Car park round the back accessible from a nearby side road was really useful, just remember to give them your registration so you don’t get a ticket. Covid measures were reassuring if that features in your choosing of a restaurant currently with staff wearing masks and screens between adjacent tables in the centre of the restaurant. Would thoroughly recommend and would definitely return to try more of the menu!

Great food and atmosphere - staff were fantastic!

Despite this place being run down and in desparate need of a refurb for many years Ive been a regular loyal customer for years as never had a bad meal except once just after lockdown in summer 2020 and at that time there was money off for eating out and they were overrun...excusable Tonight my 2 daughters and I had a booking for 7pm only to be told on arrival we hadnt booked, ermm we have look this is our email confirmation, no sorry we havent received it! No sincere apology, just a hard faced woman clearly much more interested in the christmas bookings for 8... after all our table for 3 was a little inconvenient profit wise wasnt it. So hence to say I will never eat there again, so many times theres only been 2 or 3 tables in and then you are made so so welcome lol, so much for sincerity Disgusted is not in it, however on the bright side Marcos on Woodseats managed to squeeze us in and the food was awesome the place is no more run down than La Luna and that probably explains why its ranked over a hundred places higher on Tripadvisor Take a look at yourself you very rude woman you do not deserve your regular customers loyalty... I hope your large tables tonight continue to line your pockets come the New Year... Happy Christmas

We had a family meal, everyone enjoyed it, the food was top class, so was the service. My husband and I used to come on a Sunday five or so years ago and with friends on a Saturday. I suggested La Luna too my daughter who was arranging it for the 14 of us, to celebrate some significant birthdays throughout the family that had happened over the last year. We shall certainly return, again as will I am sure family members. Everyone knows of La Luna it is a classic.

Arrived in Sheffield and went out for an evening meal, stumbled into La Luna by accident but had a great time. Warm friendly staff, good atmosphere and really good food. We'd go again.

The serving girl was the star of the show, the food very average.

Booked last minute to go to La Luna with 2 friends. Good as always was great, lovely garlic bread, calamari and seafood risotto. Friends meals were great too. Service great and all round great experience. You can’t beat La Luna’

Sadly had to isolate for my birthday due to Covid. Could not be happier with the meal we have just had from La Luna, perfectly packaged, presented & as a regular customer of the restaurant the quality was as close to being sat there as possible. Although we’d always prefer the excellent in person service that we know & love from this restaurant the at home experience was as near as can get to the restaurant experience and the best restaurant takeaway we’ve had during covid.

Friendly staff, very nice pizzas. Homely, comfortable environment. Wood oven pizzas make all the difference. Earmarked for future engagements.

Amazing food everytime and great atmosphere!

We booked after a day in Peak District. We brought our our wine and given glasses to drink it. The food was really nice. Had risotto Nero, tagliatelle with prawns (a lot), and homemade lobster ravioli. For dessert very nice panacotta and tiramisu. All of it under 50£.The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The food took a little bit of time between starter and main but it was busy so understandable. Will definitely come back.

Brilliant place for vegans and omnis, I especially liked the vegan lasagna. The staff are really lovely and the place has a great ambiance. We will be back!

Went for our first post lockdown meal. Not the first time we have been and certainly not the last. While the menu is not specific to Vegan dining, the restaurant caters above and beyond for any dietary requirement. Best vegan selection we have seen at an Italian restaurant. Such great service, very welcoming and understanding. Fresh food, made to order - very authentic and incredibly tasty. We will be frequent visitors.

Had a meal delivered for valentines day. Ordered tomato and chilli garlic bread starter, tomato bruschetta, beef ragu, mushroom risotto. All arrived piping hot and tasted sensational! Vegan menu is incredible - so much choice! - and the risotto was full of flavour. Can't recommend enough! Thank you for a lovely meal.

Just enjoyed a really tasty family dinner from La Luna! Thank you! Easy to order online, plenty of menu choice to suit everyone, and delivered promptly. Adults and kids all very happy with our choices, and there was plenty leftover which we shall enjoy tomorrow. Really happy to support our local Italian through this difficult time.

Takeaway-excellent Normally I would be having a party night at the restaurant and have done for many years - so this year is different. Ordered excellent home made garlic breads with tomato. Mushrooms and meatballs as a starter- soon realising we might have over ordered. Big mistake- calazone delicious but huge, meatballs as main - very tasty with a bit of zing, chicken pancake. Lots of flavours, great portions- delivery on time, really great, highly recommend. Now need sleep! No photos as we all ate quickly.

We tried the delivery service ordering on line the day before.The web site gets you to pin point your house on a map - good idea to help with deliveries.Delivery was exactly on time - to the minute. Impressive.Garlic bread was delivered in a thick card box, two pasta dishes and the sweet were in plastic boxes - useful for later.All very tasty - but my wife would have liked a bit more sauce on the pasta.The cold sweet was on top of the hot pasta dish boxes - perhaps put a paper towel between as insulation - a few minutes in the fridge resolved that.We enjoyed this little adventure and will definitely do it again.Well done for doing well in these troubled times.

Acabo de llegar de comer aquí y mi hija estaba muy enferma, habíamos pedido pasta sin gluten, una camarera confundida nos dijo dos veces que mi hija tenía la pasta sin gluten y yo tenía pasta normal. Obviamente no es correcto debido a que se enfermó violentamente después de comer la única comida que ordenó aquí. No puedo enfatizar lo suficiente si cita que tiene gluten, asegúrese de que sea con un plato o plato de diferente color para servir la comida a fin de evitar confusiones y poder identificar sin gluten.No reserve en línea para comer aquí tampoco, ya que no reciben su reserva, aunque recibimos un correo electrónico confirmando nuestra reserva, el restaurante no había recibido nuestra reserva y no éramos las únicas personas a las que nos dijeron que no teníamos un mesa.La comida estaba bien, nada especial, el interior en mal estado necesita una reforma lo antes posible.

Food was very good but after 4 months of lockdown they could have improved the upstairs which is not very clean and not suitable for people to eat and the staur carpet needs to go in a skip.

Fui con tres amigos y el restaurante era genial, estaban bien organizados y usaban máscaras faciales. Tuve el Cozze (mejillones frescos, salsa de tomate picante y pan) como entrante y fue fantástico y bien de precio. Para mi plato principal tuve Penne Cremose (Penne con tiras de filete de ternera y champiñones en una crema, salsa de tomate con mostaza francesa) y fue un plato principal encantador, todos disfrutamos mucho de nuestra comida y estaba muy bien de precio.volveremos pronto
