I arranged a small baby shower lunch for my friend at Gigi’s and we had a really lovely time. Everyone’s food was excellent, good selection of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks, and very friendly and efficient waitress. We all really enjoyed our afternoon, it was the perfect place for the occasion. Will definitely be back!

Thank you to all the staff for a lovely evening last night. Delicious food, lovely, relaxed atmosphere and beautiful decor. Being able to use the bar upstairs was a wonderful opportunity to spend the evening with friends and family. The staff looked after us so well and we really appreciate all you did. Lovely place lovely service lovely food

We treated ourselves to an early dinner on a Sunday night. We were bowled over by the choice. I had an amazing black ink seafood spaghetti dish, our son had lamb shank and hubby had mushroom risotto. All of the dishes were fantastic. The whole vibe of the place was very relaxing. The waitress was so helpful and friendly. It's our new favourite place. Can't wait to go back. Would be lovely to try on a summer's evening and have a drink in the heated outside area.

Unbelievably disappointed by our visit. The quality of the food was absolutely shocking. All the seafood tasted off, the arancini was totally tasteless and I’ve got no idea how you can get a risotto so wrong. It had no flavour what so ever and the rice was undercooked. The only saving graces were the wine and the really lovely efficient waitresses. Has the kitchen team changed recently? I didn’t complain at the time as we were there for a friends birthday and I really didn’t want to make a fuss and ruin her night.

The place was great and the food was good. When we went on a Thursday evening it was very quiet so it lacked atmosphere.

Awful experience all round. We walked into a freezing cold restaurent and had to keep coat and scarves on!! Limited menu but chose a pizza with a special request to add seafood. Very bad smelly prawns were used that could not be eaten. Both waitress and chef argued it was fine!! The seafood was off 100%. We paid for one other dish that was not pleasant to eat and left. We found the cafe next door warm, friendly with great coffee and cake! Will not revisit.

Fantastic authentic Italian restaurant with delicious food, welcoming, warm atmosphere and lovely staff..no wonder we keep going back there!

We decided to go for half price pizza and pasta night. Sadly they had had delivery problems do the two pasta dishes I wanted both unavailable. We both ordered mushroom pizza. We both thought it was absolutely horrible. Apparently they used dried mushrooms on top, they were just horrible pieces of vinegar flavoured slime. I have eaten pizza in a number of countries including several times in Italy. This was truly the worst pizza ever. I note other people have made negative comments about the pizza. I went there a few years ago and had an awful meal so that’s it there for me, sad as I live locally. It’s poor that food is not more consistent and to a higher standard.

Everything was perfect, from the service to the atmosphere to the amazing food options. We were in the cocktail bar upstairs which was great for having some drinks with friends and family. The staff were super helpful giving amazing recommendations for food and drink options. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for some delicious food and drinks with family or friends!

We had authentic and delicious pasta dishes. The service was friendly, cheerful and informative. The meals were also extremely good value. We highly recommend Gigi's Cucina.

As usual, Gigi’s smashed it with a fantastic evening again. The focaccia, Don Gigis, calamari and lemoncello spritz are my go-to favourites. Lovely location, great decor and atmosphere and exceptional service. Thanks again team! We’ll be back soon :)

Fabulous value even when not attending on half price pizza and pasta evenings (Wed, Thur, Sun). A real surprise to see the bill when such lovely food.

This is my favourite restaurant in Sheffield, it is unique and always feel special, the staff are welcoming and it is great for all ages … it always gives me an excuse to dress up for dinner ! Definitely worth the money and they have half price pasta and pizza on Wednesday and Thursday!!! 😎 👌🥰

Very slow service due to lack of staff. Warm cocktail. Luke warm, not particularly tasty food. Over-priced for what we got. Won't return. Shame, because the decor and environment is welcoming and pleasant in which to be seated but everything else is just not up to par.

I've eaten here a couple of times and both have been excellent. Definitely a modern aesthetic and a welcome break from trad Italian restaurants. The sharing platters are excellent and some of the best calamari I've ever had! Cracking pizzas and pasta too, which on Sundays are 50% off making it remarkable value. Nice bar upstairs if you want to extend your evening. Parking is on the street and can be tricky sometimes, but other neighbouring streets offer good alternative parking places. Highly recommended.

Really wanted to like this place as it looks lovely when you walk in. Unfortunately the food was tasteless and over priced. For the cost we expected better service. The waiter spilled an over filled drink on table and didn’t offer to clean it up. No water was offered and we were served stale bread. It’s such a great space and could be so much better. We all agreed we’d had much better Italian food at the bigger chains. This was our second time and we hoped our first bad experience was a one off. I wouldn’t recommend.

Really nice vibes and atmosphere, quite calm. Only one waitress serving so was pretty slow to get drinks etc. Had the pastas which were tasty, could have had a bit more flavour. Very decently priced for the atmosphere

We came here for my parents anniversary meal. The food was outstanding and the restaurant was lovely inside. The waitress was very welcoming and attentive to us. We will definitely be back without a doubt! My mother and fathers 30th wedding anniversary couldn’t have been celebrated and held in a better place. The food was outstanding and my 6 year old loved the sea food pasta.

We live nearby and would Benefit from a nice restaurant in the area but this place, sadly, let’s itself down. 50% off on Sundays is a good offer but sadly the food isn’t very good. The garlic bread starter was rock hard and the ‘creamy’ pasta dish was not creamy at all. The person on the table next to us ordered the same pasta dish and got almost twice the portion size, very odd. No wine coolers until requested, cutlery not replaced. This place has so much potential but is clearly struggling. all the issues can be resolved under good management.

Terribile experience, not real Italian food...

Very disappointing- bland Calamari, over spiced Prawns, undercooked pancetta in main meal and sea bass so citrusy it was close to inedible. We fed all this back in the night, but won’t return.

So disappointing. We went here last year and loved it so booked again for my birthday. The wine was good but the most of the food was awful, and the rest mediocre except for the pizza which my husband liked. My son and I had bruschetta to start which was tasteless and just seemed to be tomatoes chopped up on toasted bread with a whole ball of mozzarella cut in 4 and stuck on top. The calamari starter was tough and my risotto was bland and oily and didn’t really have the texture of risotto at all. We were the only people in the restaurant and although it looks really nice we were cold. The person who served us was very nice and efficient and I felt sorry for her as we clearly weren’t enjoying the experience. She did reduce all our mains by 50%, which was a nice gesture

Disappointed! Our previous visit was excellent but this time was really disappointing. Our Main course was very dry and tasteless and the service seemed rushed…..to the point of taking plates before one of our party had finished. The noise and foul language from a private party upstairs was also really off putting.

Rarely have I had such horrible food at an Italian restaurant. The pizza was ok, just ok. The focaccia with mozzarella was very obviously heated from frozen, as it was still cold, nearly frozen in the middle. The Pollo Milanese's pasta was spicy at indian food levels and overcooked to the point of being almost inedible. It wasn't even the enjoyable heat from fresh chilli peppers that complements food, it was a vile spiciness of a lot of chilli flakes overpowering any sense of taste or enjoyment. The chicken was Iceland-grade frozen chicken escalope that they were attempting to pass as gourmet. The ragu was bland and the pasta was overcooked. The Don Gigi seafood pasta was basically pasta Jalfrezi. So very spicy, overpowering any other sense of taste. The Alla Zozzona's pasta was very thick making the texture horrible, the mushrooms were very chunky and chewy and the dish was again bland. We skipped dessert because we decided to spare us from the agony that it would most certainly entail. We felt sorry for the servers that were making honest attempts to try and promote these horrible dishes. We will definitely not be going back.

Fantastic food and service. The best bruscheta we've ever had! Really friendly staff and an absolutely beautiful venue. We sat on the terrace and it was like a mini Italy. They also have the most gorgeous bar upstairs with delicious cocktails. This was our first visit and we can't wait to go back.

The salad had clearly come out of a bag and had dry and brown bits and no salad dressing. Certainly not worth anything like the £9.50 they charged for it. But the worst bit was that when they asked if everything was okay we complained about the salad and they were rude and aggressive with us instead of taking our comments professionally. Sadly, we won’t be going back.

A strange place. I ordered a drink and there was lipstick on the glass. My wife's knife had some brown gunk on it. The waitress asked us if we enjoyed the cake that we'd ordered for pudding - we said not really. Someone who I assume was the manager came out and explained that it was Italian cake and was supposed to be dry and tasteless. She said she would take 25% off - I thought that was a bit excessive to be honest - I know the glasses and cutlery were dirty, and the food was average, but 25% off the bill is too much. Whilst I was protesting it dawned on me that she meant 25% off the cake 😂! I mean... thanks for the £1.65 deduction guys, really softens the blow of a pretty poor experience.

Came for a friend's birthday. Service was not great. Ordered red wine and waitress brought white. When we explained this, the waitress argued that we'd ordered white for some time before swapping it over. Drinks were slow to arrive. Had to ask for salt. Waitress leaned over my starter when she bought it for a friend. The birthday girl ordered beef Wellington. Was asked how she'd like it cooked and asked for well done. Staff came back and said they couldn't do this or the pastry would be black. Friend said, as long as the beef's not red and bleeding on the plate, that's fine. It arrived. Black pastry and almost blue red meat. Dripping in the plate. Inedible. When we complained, no surprise, but they argued about it. Just a horrible meal for my friends birthday. Awful customer service. They did finally offer my friend a free dessert (we decided not to risk that) but she had a free cocktail instead. The rest of us found the food good, but the service was far from palatable. Such a shame.

My friends and I spent an abolutely lovely Sunday lunch at Gigi's. Such a chilled vibe. The food was fantastic and the service was equally as great. Such a friendly atmosphere. If you're thinking of meeting friends or just having a relaxing lunch, Gigi's is perfect. I would to go there when it's buzzing on an eveningand see the difference. Couldn't recommend it more and we will definitely be returning soon. X

What a fantastic place to eat. I frequently visit Sheffield and eat all over. Still to this day this is one of the best places I've eaten. We visited one day when they were closed without realising and they stayed open to serve us lunch. The food was amazing and so was the decor. It is family run and the majority of food is homemade and fresh. Whenever I go out to eat in Sheffield and it's a special night, this is one of my first choices. Recommend!

Christmas get together meal for 8 of us. Food was excellent, service was very good. Great upstairs bar for pre meal drinks. Overall we had a fantastic night. Would definitely recommend.

This is one of our favourite restaurants in the city since we moved to the area. The staff are so friendly and the food and service is always excellent. The gorgeous new wine bar is a great addition and can't wait to come again.

Went with a group of friends last night (Saturday) - table booked for 8.00, we were eventually seated at 9.30 and starters arrived 10 minutes later. Food was OK but at over £40 per person and we didn't have any deserts or coffee (none was offered by the waitress) I expected better things. Maybe we went on a bad night, I have had much better & cheaper elsewhere so won't be returning ... sorry!

Evidently had systems errors, which resulted in eating at 10.15 for a 8.45 meal. Asked to wait a few mins outside, started getting too cold, people leaving, people very drunk as they were waiting so long for food.When we went inside-nice bar upstairs and I think the staff were running /paddling like mad, but appeared to not have a senior person steering them. Had garlic bread and starter served at the same time and couldn’t be bothered to say we worded them to come separately-I asked for mains to come after we had a break and was told the kitchen was closing-really!!!! They relented and served.Sausage pasta, tasty, but with artichoke that was so rubbery I couldn’t chew it or cut through it.Pasta ragu, tasty, but very heavy.Thank you for complimenting the drinks, but then had a weird conversation with the waiting staff (15 mins for bill), “what’s done is done” - I don’t think they expect to see us again.Shame, they could have finished by saying please come and try us again - but I don’t think that bothered.This is a lovely restaurant and the food looks good - but chaos resulted in a really poor experience.

We booked last minute and the inside was fully booked but the outside undercover area is so well done with heaters it was very comfortable even on a chilly Autumn evening. Food, wine and service was excellent with added bonus of a couple of excellent cocktails in the cool upstairs bar.

The local family run business is lovely. Really nice food, very decent portions and staff were really friendly. There were a few small things that could have been better (like having the specials at the beginning, and a cooler for the wine) but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. Would definitely recommend!

Customers talking loudly over too loud music. Found food bland, needed seasoning and lemon juice . Strange main consisted of breaded chicken with spaghetti ,sun-dried tomatoes and herbs. Spoon should have been provided for spaghetti.

Returned to gigis to celebrate a big family birthday yesterday after moving away from Sheffield- the decor has been upgraded recently and it has a funky feel - it still has the lovely family run feel as it always has - delicious food (fillet steak perfect!), yummy cocktails and great atmosphere.

My boyfriend and I went for a meal here, we got two pasta dishes. They were both unbelievably salty to the point where we couldn’t stomach the meal. Definitely not a one time thing as we could here other customers complaining to each other about how salty the food was.Gigi’s please your staff and restaurant are lovely but leave out the Mediterranean Sea!

Having been to GiGis frequently pre lockdown and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the experience each time, I was nervous following recent poor reviews.The service was fantastic, accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for our waiter Ivan .The food was the same large portions of delicious food that we remembered.All in all a great visit . Thank you .

This place used to be amazing. Management has changed hands and it’s now below average and very expensive for what it is. The quality of the food is not great. The menu is quite “try hard”, but execution is lacking and the service is terrible.The prawn starter was served almost raw and was pretty much inedible. The waiter’s response was one of shrugging.Overall a shame as the last time I visited it was superb and one of the best places in sheffield.

Not the best meal in the area being as you asked

We were seated for 10 minutes before anyone came to take a drinks order. A further substantial wait before food order, olives took ages to arrive, closely followed by starters, one of which was the wrong dish. I finally received my correct starter of king prawns but no apology - this was directed to my husband when clearing the plates.Main course and dessert - all very tasty and well presented - just lacking some friendly service.This place has the potential for great atmosphere but the staff are sadly lacking in attentiveness and friendliness on this occasion.

Me and my partner visited last weekend, and can’t fault one part! Each member of staff was so lovely and accommodating, we could see how rushed of their feet they were on a busy Saturday night, but they attended to all our needs. The atmosphere created such a romantic/ rustic vibe, we felt like I was on holiday in a small town in Italy. It can be hard for us to go out to eat as I’m a vegetarian and dairy free, however my dietary requirements was no issue and the manager herself was very helpful when I was ordering. The food was delicious, very tasty and you could tell the chef really loves what he does, you could taste his passion in every bite!!Overall just a really great experience and we will definitely be back!

Received quiet an aggressive reply to our review on open table. Our reply is not published therefore felt compelled to copy & paste on this platform.[Thank you for taking the time to reply and note your comments. We totally refute your allegations of bullish or aggressive behaviour. Furthermore, at no point during our dining experience was a check back actually offered. I’m fact it’s took three separate staff members who scanned the table before being cleared. The third asking if we had finished after our initial complaint. Such was our understanding that you have a business to run we offered as a gesture we’d pay 50% towards the food bill and, we would pay for the drinks we had purchased. Following our offer it took a considerable amount of time to pass that we decided to approach the till to resolve the situation. As staff seem to hope the issue would simply go away. The restaurant was vertically empty, I recall only further 2 tables being occupied inside and 2 tables outside. (One which was occupied by someone who introduced themselves as the owner). We all frequent many restaurants in the city socially & professionally. Who can verify our credentials and our behaviour. Your allegations are a total fabrication, not one meal other than a Bruschetta starter was eaten. That to me suggests your restaurant is not interested in satisfying the needs of its customers. Unfortunately your establishment after speaking to other like minded people is gathering an unsatisfactory reputation. Now we understand why your restaurant was was surprisingly quiet for a pleasant Saturday evening. Be rest assured we will not be booking again. Table staff were excellent. Unfortunately atmosphere spoiled by customers having loud conversations between tables. We left earlier than intended to go elsewhere so we could hear ourselves speak. Won't be returning.

I was really looking forward to dining at Gigi's as I had not been before but have driven past it loads of times and it always looked inviting and a quality place to eat. How disappointed I was!If you want to enjoy a nice leisurely evening meal out with quality food and drinks then don't go here - the service was average and certain staff rather surly. The whole experience was rushed - there obviously was no preparation in our dishes due to the speed in which they arrived plus the food was very average....we didn't have much choice in ordering desserts either as when we asked for a few minutes to study the menu the surly waiter whipped the menus away. At this point we decided to pay up and leave. All in all a very disappointing experience.
