Zizzi - Sheffield in Sheffield

I attended my friend's graduation yesterday evening and decided to celebrate the event with a meal at zizzis leopald square in Sheffield. There were a total of 17 of us altogether and decided to visit here as we had heard good things. As soon as we were arrived we were greeted by a lady who couldn't even be bothered to look up from the tablet she was using. No smile, no general acknowledgement of the evening festivities and it definitely set the tone for the rest of the nights customer service wise. There was an offer on a 3 course meal for £26.50 which most of us decided to have. As it was rather a large party the arrival of guests were scattered and some of us were rather hungry. We asked the waitress if we were able to go ahead and order our starters, then wait to order our mains when the rest of the party arrived. She seemed less than impressed with this request and said it would be confusing for the chefs and herself if we didn't all order together. Now I understand this being a bit of a nuisance but the restaurant was far from busy so I don't understand why she wouldn't be able to remember who had what. There were only about 3 of us that wanted our starters a little earlier. It's was hardly rocket science to even make a note of who had ordered but she really did actually less than impressed which I think is unprofessional as I've worked in hospitality myself and generally when a customer makes a request we go out of our way to fulfill it, unless they are being abusive/violent, which we were not. Throughout the evening the waiting staff kept bringing dishes we hadn't ordered or forgot to bring certain things that were ordered. All of them were in my opinion very rude and acted as though we were an inconvenience. If it wasn't for the number of people and everyone of the party being there to celebrate our friends achievement the night, this could have totally ruined this special day for her. The standard of food was mostly good but some dishes were rather pitiful at best. With zizzis having the reputation for top quality food some of it I could have made at home in the microwave and with the prices they were asking I was left very disappointed. If the terrible customer service and bland food wasn't bad enough when it came time to settle the bill there was a discrepancy of £50 being messing after everyone had settled the own contributions. It took a while to get to the bottom of this and on the whole I felt as though they were being very judgemental and treating us like children. I for one am very disappointed by this dining experience and will go elsewhere were in the future. I suggest your staff getting better training on customer be service going forward Do better

Around 18 people arrived joyfully for a friends graduation celebrations. A cold and unwelcoming service awaited us, as it felt like we were troubling them with the simplest of tasks. Waitress seemed agitated from the start and rolled her eyes at one point, but we did not let that deter our optimism. Food came that we had not ordered and it felt like we were getting told off by them for their mistake. The food when arrived was good for a few dishes, but some of the pasta and risotto dishes could have easily been mistaken for microwave meals for their mediocrity. We did not mind the average overpriced food, but were craving a smile or some sort of positivity from the waiting staff. We felt like an inconvenience for them throughout, so when the bill came they included a £50 tip for the service, which we stated was not going to happen. We never got asked how any of our food was or whether we wanted anything else. Puddings were forgotten about, as were drink orders. Certainly not worth venturing again, hopefully for their sake it was just a bad day at the office. Thankfully it did not spoil our friends graduation celebrations as we overshadowed it all with positivity towards our friend. Other minor issues occurred additionally, but I am not one to complain (other than this one situation…). Many thanks, Ben Slater

Visited before a show at the City Hall. Lovely meal. We haven't eaten at Zizzis or year and it was nice to see it's still a great place to eat. Staff really friendly. Jacob our waiter was great.

Absolutely deplorable and disgusting

Lovely service, food came out really quick and gorgeous food!!

The reason I like Zizzis is because I have gluten and dairy intolerances and Zizzis caters for both, so I feel reassured that I can eat here safely without getting unwell. They even put little flags and stickers on to the plate that your food is on that states they have catered for your food intolerance which is extra reassuring when your food arrives. Other establishments, take note. Zizzis is showing you how it should be done !! I recommend Zizzis because of this.

My sister & I stopped by after studying. They offer a 30% discount if you’re a student, with that it’s 5stars ✨ They fishes were flavourful, if you don’t mind butter the garlic bread is a nice choice for a starter. We got that, soda and 2 pasta dishes for £33 with the discount. The atmosphere is relaxing. The waitress was super friendly. Ps they put a lemon in our water 💕

Fantastic service by our server Justyna for my daughter’s 21st birthday party at Leopold Sq Sheffield in 26/10/24. We were a party of 18. She was very attentive & helpful to our requirements.

Visited for a family birthday and it was a decent experience but not quite to the standard I would expect. The food was nice enough, albeit nothing special, but the place was very clearly understaffed and we were waiting quite a while between courses. This is not at all a criticism to the staff as it obviously was not their fault and they were working very hard, but I think if this is the norm there needs to be a change made from a managerial level as it isn’t fair on the staff and it did disrupt the flow of the customer experience. Hopefully this is just a one off but it has put me off returning a little bit.

amazing trip with 20 girls!! all students!! all dressed as shrimp?! The waiter jewels/jules was honestly the best! I’ve never had such a great server he managed the big table and complicated orders easily with the biggest smile. He must really love his job and it shows!! Give that man a raise I beg he is amazing!!!!

Justyna from the Sheffield Leopold square restaurant was extremely helpful and catered to all of our allergies and preferences.

I always love coming here. The food is of a great quality and always really flavourful. They have a great christmas set menu which I have indulged in on a few occasions. The rewards scheme is really great too!

Food was lovely. Catered well for children and gluten free. Our server Rosie was friendly and attentive throughout. We has a taste card so excellent value for money.

Food good, nice atmosphere and carbonara was amazing

I work around the country and invariably head to a zizzi as I usually get good to very good food. Unfortunately, on this occasion, this wasn't the case. The service felt very much like the staff were just clocking in and doing a job. At one point, I was looking for service quite some time and could see the waitress looking at her phone for prolonged periods oblivious to the needs of the customers. The atmosphere was a bit naff, but it was midweek and quiet. Worse, though, was the pizza. Crickey, this is what they should be good at, but unfortunately, they served me a partially burnt pizza. That's the equivalent of a taxi driver only taking you part the way home, a painter only undercoating and not adding gloss paint! Please get off your phone and pay more attention to the service and food you serve.

Had a very lovely experience! I was really pleasantly surprised by the portions, we were both very satisfied. Our waiter Jules had a very lovely attitude and made our dining experience much better. He was very confident and helped us out a lot. Overall very happy and would definitely come again.

Works meal there for 59. Fab food and service. Everything came out quickly so no table was left behind Justina was amazing 👏 thank you!

We visited Zizzi recently, as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations. As always the food was absolutely delicious and the service perfect, nothing was too much to ask. Looking forward to our next visit. 😀

Pre-theatre meal for self and wife. We both ordered simple dishes. I had a margarita pizza and my wife had a mushroom risotto. Both were delicious. Thank you. My only regret was that although you sell San Pelligrino soft drinks my absolute favourite 'Chino' want on the menu. What a pity, it goes so well with pizza.

Food was good but service needs improvement. We used a voucher to enjoy a two for one deal. We had finished eating, plates cleared away and we were talking when a waitress interrupted us to ask for the voucher and subsequently brought the bill. We hadn’t asked for the bill and may have ordered another drink, but not after that rudeness

Rather disappointed with this place. The chairs we had were hard wooden ones, and those were most of them in the place. The food was massively overpriced for the quantity delivered, I had risotto which was the size of a starter and cost 15 quid! Maybe it's because it's in a city and rates are high, but it would cost much to put in a bit of quantity to feel getting something for the money. We didn't bother with a pudding at 7 quid for a brownie slice and a blob of ice-cream, the Yorkshireman in me just couldn't do it... So we paid up and went to the Tesco express for some sweets, far better value. On the plus side the food did taste nice and the staff were polite and helpful with queries. All in all though, won't be going to this place again. 46 quid for 2 mains and 2 drinks is way too much.

Excellent food, large portions. We ordered for two- - A veg sharing platter - Rainbow lasagne The platter alone was large enough to fill up two. It came with cheese fondue with was super delish, garlic bread, tomato and pesto bruschetta, kale fries, and two dips. Every single item on the platter was finger licking good. We had requested for additional cheese in lasagne as it was vegan and normally came without cheese. The staff was incredibly accommodating, and served us lasagna with generous amount of cheese at no additional charge. The food was rich in flavours, delish and amazingly cheesy. Definately going back for more because if it’s cheesy, once will never suffice!

Nice place and awesome food specially if you love Italian food...The atmosphere was very good and the staff very kind and professional..I really recommend this brand of restaurants as it really deserves the 5* in fact if you want to dine in during week-ends i advice you to book in advance as they are very busy...Justyna was kind and professionall.She organised a birthday surprise for my wife singing happy birthday.Amazing service!

I came here with my girlfriend for our anniversary meal, we had pre-booked, and as soon as we walked through the door the poor service began. After a 5 minute wait to be seated, we told the server that we had pre-booked and were left with a rude and blunt response and shoved into a corner table and didn't receive the complimentary crisps, something I have always been served at any Zizzi's. We did order on the app so I am not sure if they have trained staff to leave customers to their own devices after that, but we did not receive any service whatsoever. We were served our jug of tap water - which we had to ask for after a 20 minute wait- half way through our food and all the staff kept glaring over at us during our meal, a meal that was supposed to be a special occasion for us. The staff did not come over to check if everything was okay during the meal and did not clear our plates, despite clearing every table around us. I think management need to review their service as the staff on shift didn't seem to grasp the basics of serving in hospitality. We were hoping to have a relaxing, chilled out meal to celebrate our anniversary but we felt extremely unwelcome and we were left appalled. I appreciate that the service did look busy, but that is no excuse for not coming over to a customers table at all, not even to do the routine checks or upsell any of their products like more drinks and desserts which we would have been willing to pay for.

Used click and collect takeaway several times. Food was always ready for collection and staff pleasant. Only criticism is that not everything on the menu is available for takeaway eg veg meatballs and the mushroom starters but did have Mac n cheese which isn’t available to eat in??

Popped in for a late night Monday meal. Was welcomed politely by the manger on duty Rosy. The food was ordered promptly and tasted delicious! No complaints at all. We were served predominantly by Molly who was a delight, very helpful and took time to chat to us about our day. Would definitely come again!

Nice place in a lovely setting It was a bit quiet but the service was slow and unenthusiastic. The food was lovely and there seemed to be a variety of drinks available. It's expensive for what you get but no more so than all the other chain restaurants that have been overcharging for food and drink since covid A service charge is automatically added to the bill for 6 or more people in a group. ( It can be removed on request)

We had a super experience here, we were due to eat somewhere else but everywhere had closed due to unrest/protests in the city. We managed to get a table at Zizzi and the meal ( we weren’t expecting much from a chain restaurant) was really, really good. Sicilian Salmon pasta was delicious as were the pizzas and calzone. Tiramisu delicious, and the 3 courses for £26 is a really good value offer. They were very short staffed but our server smiled throughout (blonde young lady, didn’t catch her name) Really good!

Really gorgeous salmon risotto and the absolute BEST pizza ever! They do doggy bags so don't push yourself you can have leftovers at home!

Lovely Resturant helpful friendly staff. Especially Jules Who went out of his way to help me with my dietary needs. Lovely food extremely hot he even offered to take it out of the hot dish for me. I just took my time such a helpful person... We will return next time at Sheffield. Excellent

My wife’s GF pizza was what equated to a circle of soggy bread and a small lump of cheese as all of the cheese had slid off the top of the pizza and congealed in a ball of grease. - very disappointing.

I organised a table of 26 adults and kids to eat at the Sheffield Leopold restaurant on a Saturday evening following our football tournament. Dolly and her team were amazing from start to finish. I had several email conversations with Dolly leading up to coming and she was so helpful and friendly. She rang me on the day to check everything was still going ahead as planned. When we arrived she greeted me and introduced me to her team and discussed how things would work with ordering drinks and paying separate bills at the end for each family. It was a great experience for everyone and we still talk now about how organised it was. A big 5 stars from us ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Very beautiful dining area with cute ambient lighting and lovely plant decor. Bathrooms very clean with lotion and scented washes. Cute atmosphere with very friendly staff. Food was delicious and me and my mum left fed and happy.

As soon as we walked in we was greeted by our friendly server called Dolly. Dolly greeted my wife and myself by asking where would like to sit then cheerfully explained our menus and made us feel comfortable. The food was served fresh and piping hot. We would not hesitate to eat there again.

It was a family lunch to celebrate the end of exams. The waitress was most attentive and helpful, excellent in fact. The food was of the usual high standard. Full of texture and flavours.

We had a beautiful lunch listening to live music in the sunshine. The square was packed and the atmosphere was vibrant. Standard good selection of pastas and pizza as you would expect. I went for a special of slow cook lamb pizza which was amazing! My wife had salmon risotto and she was also very happy with the dish. With professional and attentive service from the team and consistently high standards what more can you ask for?! Highly recommend for any occasion!

Had the “sticky pig” Pizza, totally amazing. Along with some beautiful Cider, nice service and atmosphere.

We had a party of 13 for a birthday celebration. There were 4 families including children. We asked the waitress if we could order but on separate bills. She informed us twice, in no uncertain terms, that should would, under no circumstances, be doing this... Not the best start to a celebratory evening out. It was Father's day but by no means full. This said, the food was lovely and was served together for everyone... However, on checking the bill, there were some discrepancies which took a while to sort out. We also had the task of separating all the courses drinks etc. for 4 families of differing sizes... We eventually paid well over £400 on one card and a family member brought the bill home to sort... I understand separating the bills may be a pain but, in my opinion, should not be dismissed in such an abrupt manner...

Friendly staff, nice ambience. Food, as always with Zizzi, excellent. I had the Super Zuppa salad & a side order of Tuscan potatoes both dishes were lovely. Caramel cheesecake for dessert super moreish

I had a fantastic experience here at Zizzi! Having severe allergens I felt anxious about where to eat when visiting Sheffield, and I feel so glad to have met Dolly, a brilliant member of the team. Dolly is ever so friendly, completely understands the experience of dining with severe allergens , and was able to reassure me, make delicious recommendations and went out of her way to provide lists of ingredients. Above all, she is a now a friendly face whom I look forward to seeing every time I come to Zizzi’s! I’d highly recommend it here, they are such an excellent team.

Came to zizzi for the first time while away with work and had to dine alone. Rosy my server was the loveliest person and made me feel so at ease even though it was busy. Great food, great staff and great place. Also good if your dining alone as you don't feel out of place
