Prezzo in South Derbyshire

2nd visit in a few weeks, and they're still doing well. Thank heavens for vouchers though!

Not a good experience. Booked in advance for an early dinner at 5.30. Restaurant was virtually empty. When we arrived, had to wait a few minutes for the table to be laid as it seemed they were not expecting us. No drinks menu left on the table so I had to go and forage one from another table. About 15 to 20 mins before a drinks order was taken by which time we ordered food as well. Drinks sat on the bar for ages. Had to ask for a jug of water twice. The service was generally slow and inattentive. About half way through the meal the shift change meant we had a different server. Italian lady who was very polite and friendly. By the time she was serving us the restaurant was full and she was run off her feet. Most of the food was ok. My wife had the spaghetti carbonara for main which was cold and fairly tasteless. No one asked us how the food was at all during the meal or at the end. Usually, we tip generously but we don’t if the service is poor so we had decided not to on this occasion. However, when the bill arrived, a service charge was already applied. Would have asked them to take it off but my daughter has social anxiety so did not want to upset her with any potential confrontation. Feels like you don’t have to care about your service if you are getting tips automatically. Will not go back.

Came here for a celebration lunch. Started with a dough twist and truffle mayo to share. This was delicious and made a change to garlic bread. Could not taste the truffle in the mayo. My wife had the sea bass and the fish was gorgeous, but the gnocchi had an unusual texture and very little flavour, even though the sauce had great flavour. I had the crab and lobster ravioli. My wife had it last time and was not impressed. But my ravioli had some brown meat in it and was really tasty. The Prawns were well cooked too. We shared the orange cheese cake for dessert. The cheesecake was smooth but I thought it was a bit craggy. The staff were great as normal. On the whole we enjoyed our lunch.

Visited as a family of 4 (2 teens) Was fairly busy downstairs when we arrived for our table we had booked. They seated us nearest the door, which was quite cold when the door opened, but didn't look like any other tables of 4 available (looked as if the upstairs area wasn't open) would have been better if they spread people out a bit, would have helped with the noise as it was very noisy in there. Have been before to this prezzo but not for a few years. Sadly they've taken off the honeycomb cheesecake! The food was very good and hot, but the service was really quite slow. Took a while to get 4 soft drinks, and the mains took a while too. They seemed to be churning out a lot of deliveries, though. Waitress was friendly, . I had a 50% off voucher so was worth going, but not sure we would rush back in all honesty. I'm not keen they add the service charge automatically.

I went yesterday with my dad, and it was an amazing experience! The staff were incredibly kind to us, the service was fast, and the food was delicious! Even though it's a bit pricey, it's definitely worth the money and I would definitely go again if I could!

New management is absolutely smashing it, love the place. Amazing food, service, feel super welcomed as soon as you walk in. Outstanding!

I stopped by for a meal last night after work, and was served by Caitlin, she made sure I had everything I needed and her waiting on was absolutely brilliant. Usually I'd do pizza, or pasta. But this time I had the Saltimbocca Chicken, and it was delicious. I'd highly recommend it! Lemon meringue pie was also amazing. I will 100% be going again.

Myself and My wife, we are love this place. The food always fresh and tasty. Waiter Mara, so polite and professional, with the great sense of humor ❤️ We are definitely recommend Prezzo to everyone, try it, you not gonna regret.

Such a great restaurant. This is a reasonably new find for us and on our second visit we were lucky enough to meet Mara who has wonderful. She took care of us and our 1 year old so well (who certainly loved the attention!). The food has been lovely on both occasions and my daughter came away covered head to toe in her pasta sauce as she loved it so much!

Prezzo is a good restaurant, the staff were great and food was nice. I like their marketing deals and emails to entice you in, it worked!

We took a friend for her birthday earlier this month. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice. Our waitress Poppy was so helpful and new her menu and gave good advice as well as brilliant service. My meal was not as I expected, only in texture and Poppy didn't hesitate to change my meal for something different. The food was so tasty and service top notch. Thank you Prezzo and Poppy

Had lunch with my wife nice atmosphere very friendly staff (Jeremy) and recommend it and it's not over priced.

But food was scrumptious as usual. We were sat outside on a Monday evening so it was not too busy, but our starters arrived before our drinks, which we had to keep asking for. Won’t stop us from returning though.

Every time I visit this place I got tasty food, friendly staff, lovely atmosphere. I tried most of dished from the menu and I can recommend all. Lately I visited for New Calzone and also amazing Lemon Cake and refreshing strawberry lemonde. Edit : Today lovely Margerita pizza with Njuda sausage !

Great place to have a family meal. We were seated upstairs which was fantastic. Service was prompt ad delivered with a smile. Drinks were great quality and ice cold as they were supposed to be. Food was amazing.

We keep going back here! The food is good and the service is great! The setting is perfect for sitting out with an iced coffee on a sunny day! Polly is a great server who has served us a few times and the food is always hot and tastes good. The pizzas are authentic and tasty. 🤤 An added bonus is 20% off food all day every day with blue light card.

The staff were working flat out and still remained upbeat and professional. We waited almost an hour for our food as it was very busy. The music got cranked up at some point so I couldn't hear conversation within my group and didn't fancy waiting a long time for the dessert with the noise. Food was OK, hot and decent portion.

So I came with my friends for a nice meal and when we arrived we were stood waiting along with others for 30 minutes and when we finally go to our table we were served drinks quiet fast and managed to order food. We waited no joke 2 hours to eat it’s a joke! We even ordered a second round of drinks to hopefully pass by time. People all around were complaining about service and everyone left. Some people who even arrived before us were fed half an hour later. Even though service wasn’t great staff were increadibky nice and hard working, purely the managers fault for not hiring more staff and for over booking. When you have only 5 members off staff with a full Resturant maybe don’t book fully.

We got there at 7:30 pm and we got our first round of drinks and we realised that loads of people were leaving as their food was taking to long so we waited and managed to have a couple of drinks and more and more people were leaving . We ordered our food at around 8 and I took 2 hours to come and more people had left. The party in front of us were there before us and got their food half an our after us.

Booked a table to then be told there was a half a hour wait. Not great service really if your too busy don't take bookings.

We booked a table for 5pm. At 5.50 we were informed that someone else was waiting for our table! Just prior to that we were asked if we would like more drinks?? At this point there were plenty of empty tables. I appreciate that these may have had bookings later but we had made a booking and we expected to have longer than 50 minutes to enjoy a meal and perhaps get a coffee. When we got the bill they had the nerve try and add on a service charge! What was supposed to be a relaxing evening out was ruined by bad management.

We booked a table for 5pm and after approximately 50 minutes we were told someone else was waiting for our table. A few minutes prior to this we were asked if we wanted more drinks? There were plenty of other empty tables at this point and when we queried this we were told they were reserved for bookings. As we ourselves had booked a table we expected to be able to have time to enjoy a relaxing meal. Nice food but poor management.

My first visit here & only as my niece chose it for her birthday family dinner. Although we had really good service & the food was good, for me (& a couple of other family members), the acoustics made the noise almost unbearable so although we were in really early, with the music & other people, once I'd finished dinner, I had to leave. If I visit again then it'll have to be on a nice day where I can sit outside. (I have tinnitus so not the best place for me but at least I know for future)

Booked Prezzo as they were able to accommodate a larger party of work friends for an evening out. However, despite advance warning of our large party, and a full restaurant, they only had one waitress serving every table all evening. Two colleagues arrived earlier than the rest of us and were charged a £2 service charge to bring drinks over to the table (a huge distance of about 4 metres), and when we all arrived it took over 45 minutes to take our food order. The food was good quality, but we were not asked if we wanted extra drinks until the order for desserts and coffee was taken, and then they completely forgot to bring our desserts out. What should have been a two course meal took somewhere near 4 hours. I've never experienced anywhere quite like it. We asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill as the service was poor and we gave the waitress a tip directly as we all felt quite sorry for her. Prezzo need to give the waitress that night a huge bonus as she was running round frazzled trying to keep all of your customers happy!

We went to table as a party of 6 for my Girlfriends birthday, it was pretty quiet at the time due to football, but the restaurant is usually quite busy. It’s got a nice feel to it with all the lights, plus Mara and Jeremy went above and beyond the whole time we were there. No one had a problem with their food, most of us had pizzas/calzones, I had the Tre Carni Calzone which is the ONLY right decision when ordering at Prezzo 🔥 We don’t usually have desserts at restaurants, but because it was a birthday we did order some. My girlfriend, who didn’t order a dessert, was out of nowhere sung happy birthday to and bought out a free dessert, which was really nice of them. It’s slightly more expensive than your average restaurant, but Prezzo in Swad keeps its place as a go to pay week meal, will hopefully be coming back soon. Big up to Mara and Jeremy and thank you for making it a good experience for us.

We had a group meal here recently and the staff were so lovely and accommodating towards us and the food was fantastic. Will definitely be returning soon.

Slow to serve food, the calzone was doughie on the edges and slightly under cooked. Cocktails not very strong but generally an ok place to eat.

I visit every day, I am very satisfied with the food and the workers are brave people!

Lovely restaurant with big outdoor place to enjoy the sunny and brilliant staff you can just pop in for quick drink and full of protein menu after the gym next door

I visit mostly to drink coffee as it is delicious. Affogatto is my favourite. The staff and atmosphere are very noisy.

I cannot believe how Expensive this place really is, food is good but nothing special. As a chain I really thought prices would be more reasonable. It's not only the food, a pint of shandy £7!! Staff did their best. The noise from the inside due to building was almost unbearable, I couldn't wait to leave. There was no soap in toilet and hand dryer blew cold. The parting shot from Prezzo was the service charge!! As if they are not already charging you high prices for what they offer.

Came into prezzotoday around 7:30 even though there was a huge dinner rush, I was warmly welcomed by Marta who greeted me at the door and directed me to my table. She was very polite and kind to us! Our food was promptly ready even despite the rush. Our server Polly did an excellent job explaining the dishes and the traditional way of eating them! Wanna say a big thank you and a huge well done for the team manager for keeping such a spot on restaurant ! Deffo entry will be coming again

Lovely food and fabulous service

Our visit was great, we really enjoyed our food and the Manager Marta went above and beyond. Polly has been incredible as well and very communicative and helpful.

We visited on a quiet week day, the food was delicious! But the service was exceptional huge thanks to Marta and the blonde young manager. We will definitely visit more often!

Good family dinner venue, the food is hot and fresh and good value with gluten free options. The toilets and some of the decor does look a bit tired.

The food was promptly served and delicious. Lots of veggie options and a good range of drinks. Our waitress Mara was friendly and helpful. A lovely Italian restaurant right by the cinema and shops. Great.

Food was perfect, caters for Gluten Free on Pizza and Garlic bread and it was delicious, with good amount of toppings. They even had Gluten free Chocolate cake. We ordered a bottle of Primativo red wine and I could have just done with a straw in the bottle. The service was fantastic, our waitresses checked in with us, everything was ok, the orders were taken promptly and we felt very welcomed. We found another little Gem here.

We found it was expensive and the food was cooked fresh but couldve been better in my opinion. Kids pizza meal was soggy in the middle. My granddaughter didnt eat it just played around with it. Small lemonade was 2.95

2024... still excellent service and great food. 2017... still excellent service and fantastic pasta. Seats could do will recovering as very tatty by the front window. Sill a nice atmosphere and worth eating in. 2015... Excellent food and good service. Location and view isn't brilliant (if you're facing the car park you'll have a nice view of Argos and the bargain shops)... but inside it's very nice with a balcony area and more secluded area. Nice place and we've been a few times now.

The restaurant was lovely, with beautiful ambiance, and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The food, including both pizza and pasta, was delicious. I highly recommend both dishes! Additionally, they offer complimentary meals for kids during the Easter holiday, including starters, mains, and desserts. I look forward to returning to try more of their delicious pasta dishes.

Been here several times now. Service always very good. Nice food. Nothing amazing but always tasty and fast service.

Very poor! Never been to a Prezzo before and won’t return. Mozzarella starter served on cold plate so quickly hardened. Oak-Smoked Salmon served with toasted bread but no butter so really dry. Asked for butter and apparently they do that ! In fairness said they will see what they could do. Got strong raw garlic butter. Crab & Lobster Ravioli tasteless and not rich tomato & lobster sauce just bland yellowy something. Partner had Carbonara and said ‘edible’. Cold plates and cold environment. Very disappointing when planned lunch out !

Food was nice however there was a very rude male server that made us all feel very uncomfortable. And almost made us want to leave, he would not stop staring at us the whole night and when he came over he rolled his eyes, walked away ect, just was not needed.

Went for food on a Thursday evening. Didn't pre book, but plenty of tables available. Great, freshly cooked food. Friendly, attentive waiting staff. Bill came to £45 for 2 mains and 2 soft drinks. Worth noting that they don't take cash payments.

A lovely family meal however spoilt by adding a service charge to the bill ,we usually tip but find this charge unnecessary and we will certainly be careful in future as the total amount was ringed in biro not the actual amount the food cost, and we almost paid it until we examined it closer i I certainly will think again before we eat at prezzo in a larger party as to me we got just the same service as the smaller tables and unsuspecting people will not notice this and pay in full, a very sly way to present the bill ,however the staff were very good and pleasant

As a family of 4, we used to dine at Prezzo quite frequently, but haven't done so for 18 months or so having found other preferred eateries We visited today and were, tbh, disappointed with the food/drink prices and portion sizes. We ordered 2 x cheese and balsamic onion breads which were billed as for 2 sharing - they were so small they would've been fine had one of each pair not been hungry; 2 x basic arrabatia pasta dishes (no meat); 1 x carbonara with chicken; 1 x spaghetti bolognese; 3 x Pepsi and 1 x mineral water. We didn't view the drink prices until the bill arrived, £12 for 3 standard bottles of Pepsi and £3.95 for a 500 ml bottle of mineral water - seriously!? The total was £99 (which included a £9 added service charge). One of our party is a small portion eater and given that they ate their half of the starter and cleared the plate of the main meal says it all. The prices have been hiked to the max and food portions noticeably reduced. Ignore the pictures on here of days gone by, our portions were half that. The food itself was standard Italian fayre, well cooked and presented nicely. The staff were, as always, lovely and the atmosphere pleasant - the temperature of the restaurant was on the very cool side. We won't be visiting again.

The restaurant was really cold so we sat during the meal with our coats on. The furniture was damaged and unclean. Our order was incorrect and I was given the wrong meal. The service itself was disappointing considering there were only a few tables yet 3 staff members out front. The manager was busy eating their lunch stood behind the bar rather than looking after the guests. For the price we paid I would expect much better attention to detail. We will not be returning.

I have visited plenty of times in the past but I must say a welcome smile on arrival and brilliant food and service so a huge well done to the staff! Starter: Salmon & Dill Main: Spaghetti & King Prawn Desert: Espresso Value for money 10/10 👏

Well, what can I say? This meal was booked for the 4th of February to celebrate my 70th birthday and my hubby's birthday but sadly we were ill with Covid so had to cancel and rebooked for the 17th. There were 13 of us and were greeted with smiles as usual and made to feel welcome. There was a range of ages in our group including our first great granddaughter who was born just over a week before, very attentive staff as usual who did everything to make us feel welcome, all the food was gorgeous and cooked to perfection, our burgers cooked by Dave were delicious as usual. The whole place was buzzing, really busy, our server Mara was perfect and was so helpful, nothing was too much trouble. All in all the perfect meal with all our family 5***** and will be back soon 👍

We ordered cheesecake and asked if we could have caramel sauce instead of chocolate sauce and the waitress was adamant and said no and lied and said that sticky toffee pudding has caramel sauce embedded in the pudding. When the sticky toffee pudding came it had the caramel sauce on the side. They could have added the caramel sauce instead on the cheesecake. Why be so tight over a sauce that was being SWAPPED. The sticky toffee pudding was cold. We asked for the bills 3 times and waited for half an hour. A service charge was added which we were not made aware of at the start. Just a load of jobs worths who think they are above the customers and don't need to provide a good service.

Food was average one meal the calazone was really good but the chicken was like it w as boiled the sauce was like water. Won't be returning. Staff begging for reviews not impressed

Rude staff, a business that cannot function without wifi zero common sence. Food out of a packet wouldnt waist your money even the tall chimney give this place a run for its money!

Me and my family love coming here, we often come every few weeks on the weekend. One of us has a nut allergy and the staff were very helpful and cautious. Mara was our server and she was very kind in helping my grandma look through the allergen list to make sure she could get what she wanted. We all ordered drinks, (one latte, one strawberry lemonade, one lime and soda and a jug of water for the table) they came out quick and were not left sitting on the side for ages like you might expect in other restaurants. One of us ordered a starter which came out quick and still piping hot. Mara came to our table to ask when the mains should come out, as in after the starter and the same time. We all thought this was very good as in some other places they will not ask you instead just bringing it out when its ready. For mains we ordered a Sea bass, a prezzo chicken burger and a kid's burger and also an extra portion of fries to share between us all. They were quick to come out and tasted very nice. Although, when we were choosing we noticed that the menu had changed, which would have been fine, but all of our usual/favourite dishes had been taken of the menu, so we were a bit annoyed about that but we still managed to find food that we enjoyed. Bear in mind that there were a few children in the restaurant including one of ours. There was a 30th birthday party next to our table where the women were being very loud and swearing and disturbing people in the restaurant. Although, Mara did notice the disturbance, we did not tell her or ask her to ask them to be quiet so overall we enjoyed our visit.

I ordered for the first time a click-and-collect meal and Dan the chef was very friendly and the food was delicious. The hostess was helpful at the counter and welcoming.

Pizza was good, very thin and crispy. Place was nice and clean, coffee tasted pretty good.

Visited on a Friday lunchtime. We had booked a table which was ready and set up for us when we arrived. Our waitress, Mara, was brilliant. She explained about some of the items in the menu. Kept us up to date on when food was arriving and checked all was okay. Really attentive. Renata, the Manager, delivered our drinks and she was really smiley and chatty too. Food was delicious, hot and nicely presented. Overall a really lovely lunch.

We really enjoyed our meal , it’s great good Quality food. The staff are pleasant and the service is great. However , there are two things that weren’t so great. £7 for a very small glass (125ml) of Prosecco is outrageous and I don’t like them including a service charge on the bill. The staff did highlight this and I was happy to pay as it was good service but I don’t like it being the default.

Over priced and you don't get enough for your money ...and they don't take cash ! It cost us 30.00 a head and sadly I ended up at mcdonalds after ...poor value for money and honestly when I mentioned it to the staff they made a joke about it

This is the first time I have been to Prezzo. It was average at best. I ordered a pizza and whilst I am sure others enjoy Prezzo's pizzas, I found it too crispy, dry with not enough sauce and topping. I prefer the pizzas at my local takeaway pizza shop. Would I go back? Maybe not.

Had a great time at the Swadlincote Prezzo, shout out to Polly who was an incredible server, so kind and attentive! The food was really tasty and he eat value for money with their portion sizes! Would highly recommend!

Went today and was disappointed. The spaghetti with crab and chilli, well..... Where was the crab? Served up on stone cold plates and left on counter as short staffed by looks of it. Must admit tiramasu was lovely.. The bill.....well..... a service charge slapped on and only card payments..... 🙄

Went for lunch with friends sign on door saying closed so we nearly moved on but the waiter came out to us Ok food but very expensive for what we had Only one other table with two on so very quiet

This was the first time we visited this location and found it to exceed all expectations. Our server was a new addition to the team (first week) and was extremely attentive to our needs and made sure everything was correct (even with our many requirements and requests). The atmosphere was warm and inviting and the restaurant was spotless (even the toilets). The food was fab and the chef even decorated the birthday boy’s desert board and the staff all sang happy birthday too. We will be returning. Sadly the chef went on his break so we couldn’t thank him personally. Please pass on our thanks to all the team for making our experience so good! Good luck to our new Latvian friend and keep up the fab work 🫶👍👌😍

Have to say first of all the staff, service and atmosphere was excellent However I was so disappointed with the food. I would really like to know if there food is made on the premises such as ravioli. To me the lobster crab ravioli was like rubber it was not cooked very well had no taste I ate it because I was hungry . One of my friends had spaghetti she said it was soo bland . Maybe I've been spoiled I've had that meal before at a authentic Italian restuarant it tasted nothing like the one had previously. I felt it was no better than buying ravioli from the fresh counter in morrisons . Anyway I just could not give a review as I was asked to that was not glowing. For the price it was awful ..idont think I will go again. But I'd give staff 10 out of 10 and atmosphere..

INAPPROPRIATE COMMENTS MADE BY STAFF ! Inappropriate comments made by staff when ordering drinks, my Wife asked for a coke and the waiter replied "how many grams" he then went onto reading back the order saying "3 grams for the lady" totally unacceptable especially with my children and parents there too. Not impressed at all.

This is a regular haunt. Service is always excellent.

Very nice restaurant. The ambient is beautiful and the staff was friendly and nice. The food was good too. I ordered the aubergine, burrata and basil pizza and it was great. I highly reccomend it! I'll come back to try the pasta dishes that looked delicious.

Great Italian restaurant. Great service and food. However downstairs disabled toilets has problems: 1) toilet roll holder is positioned in an awkward place, 2) getting the paper out is also impossible for some disabilities due to its industrial design , 3) the hand dryer didn't detect my wife's hands and there are no paper hand towels!

The pizzas are very nice. The burgers are average when you consider the fact that the plate overall is not very well loaded, somewhat bare. Just about adequate for an average appetite. However, they taste very, very nice. My cuppachino was little more than lightly coffee flavoured lukewarm water. Extremely disappointing as my coffee is very important to me, especially if I'm paying a hefty price. I expect at the very least Costa or Starbucks quality. This didn't even start the race. Overall, I think a 3.1/2 stars would be closer to my actual assessment. On previous visits things were better, yet prices have risen sharply. Certainly no complaints staff wise. Decent bunch, cheerful & polite.

Poor service and very expensive. You can buy a house in Swadlincote for the price of two mains and two drinks. Then it will be burgled.

A great restaurant which is always easy to book and has some amazing food. Not only is the food great here, but the portions are also MASSIVE. I always walk away from the restaurant feeling very full, but satisfied. Service is always great and attentive and the restaurant is clean and decorated in a nice way.

Parents recently went for lunch, tiny serving of seafood risotto, a bit of garlic bread and a very small glass of orange juice £50 for them both. Prezzo has always been poor & overpriced and clearly has not changed.
