All good ta, even though they were full and short staffed the poor staff didn't stop to breath

A lovely warm welcome on Christmas day, shown to out table which was nicely set and not cramped in by other tables. Our 3 course Christmas meal was lovely, turkey cooked perfectly, vegetables not over cooked and where flavoursome. Dessert was lovely too. This was our 1st time not cooking on Christmas day and we are so glad we chose the Clock Warehouse. All of the staff where very busy but all had a happy face and helped anyone who needed assistance. We are going to try to convince the family to join us next year. Thank you so much to all of the staff who worked Christmas day. Happy new year.

We went for breakfast with Santa, service was slow and the food was average. The Santa was the best bit.

Food and service was perfect thank you. Atmosphere strange as we were the only 4 people in the room! When we asked if we could sit upstairs the answer was no as they were fully booked. There were still empty tables upstairs ( as they were when we arrived) when we left?

Visited The Clock Warehouse on Sunday 15th December. Had a lovely warm welcome and one of the best Sunday dinners I’ve had in a long time! Carolynne looked after us and was very friendly and accommodating. She even made sure our ‘fussy’ eaters enjoyed their meals without having to pick off the bits they didn’t like ( healthy bits!) We’ll defo be back!

Love this place, the food was amazing as always and the service is just 5*. Carolyne is so lovely and made our night even more wonderful, always smiling and very polite. We also had another lady but did not manage to catch her name, short girl, very pretty. What's even better is that doggies are welcome too.

We come to meet friends for dinner once a month. The food is always first rate, the ambience warm and friendly and they have good special offers e.g. 30% off mains. Sometimes they are a bit short of staff but those that are there are, friendly and helpful.

I wish to highlight the excellent customer service that I received from the Clock Warehouse on 01.12.24 From my initial phone call with Poppy on the Saturday to enquire if TCW catered for my specific dietary requirements, to the above & beyond service from the serving & catering staff that we received on the Sunday. My friend & I received a warm welcome at the door; when I said the booking name, it turns out we had been greeted by Poppy, who took my call. We were lead to our table & we discussed a little more about the special requirements. I had a printed guide to assist them, Poppy said that she had already spoken with the chef & took the guide to the chef. Our drinks order was taken & we were left various menus to peruse over. I chose the three roast dinner & my friend had the Butternut squash, from the mains menu. Poppy returned to clarify my veg & potato options. When the meals were served, I received separately prepared food cooked to meet the requirements. This was not my first visit to TCW, but it was the first after my diagnosis. Due to the dietary restrictions I thought it would be difficult, or not possible, to be able to dine out again. But after my initial call & receiving an invite to come in & see if my special requirements could be met, it was quite encouraging. We both had lovely mains & sweets, that met the special requirements & had a most enjoyable dining out experience. I can't emphasise enough how moved I was at such an outstanding customer service, from all involved. Thank you.

Very disappointing visit staff scarse no apologies for wat times.

A very relaxing atmosphere, quiet enough to converse but with sufficient background activity to feel you are in a popular place. Food was very good, just right to provide visitors from Australia with an example of traditional UK meals. Staff were very polite and attentive, just a small wait upon arrival to be seated.

food was not how it used to be, was ashamed that my friends were introduced for the first time to your food

Upon arrival myself and my partner were met by a member of staff who checked our reservation. He then collected some menus and asked about any dietary requirements and allergies. He then lead us to our table. After a few minutes we were approached by another member of staff who asked us if we would like to order some drinks. We were then given ample time to view the menu before we were approached again by a different member of staff to take our food order. I would like to point out that staff service was excellent and all staff had a good knowledge of their rolls and a good knowledge of the restaurant. And above all they were friendly and approachable the food we had ordered was excellent. I would like to add that I will be coming back and I will be recommending to friends and family.

Nice food, good service, cosy pub atmosphere. We had starters and mains. Good value for money. Our server Carolynne was especially helpful.

This is a beautiful venue owned by a chain, don't expect "gourmet" but the quality is good for the type of pub that this is and the service was also good. Carolynne (front of house) and Ryan (chef) were really helpful in ensuring that all dietary needs were met and made the difference between a "meh" visit and a very enjoyable one. Top tip - vouchers are sent out if you register for updates which make it better value.

Everything was great except for the time taken to wait for our food and desserts. The setting is great, it was nice to have disabled access to the room downstairs. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was good and original. It just took too long to come.

Sorry to say, this place has gone down hill. Pedigree was not at its best. They seemed to be short staffed. When the food finally arrived my medium steak was well done and very tough. The chips were great though! J My wife had Mushroom soup which was not very tasty and the ciabatta were tough. It spoilt what was a birthday meal.

Waited ages to be served. Staffing issue by Corporate owners. Small dog friendly area inside. Least busy of all the pubs in the village.

Food was very good. Think we arrived when some staff were on a break, but didn't wait long to be seen too.

Spot on with food allergy awareness. A little too pushy regarding additional side dishes, we ended up with too much food.

The staff were lovely. We got drinks instantly, no waiting around. The food was really nice and fairly priced. Lots of choice. Carolynne served us the majority of the evening and she was lovely and was always around if we needed anything

The atmosphere of the clock warehouse is friendly, inviting and welcoming, so lovely infact I forgot I was in the midlands, but instead back home in the cotswolds countryside. Carolynne's customer service was exceptional as was our food cooked by Josh. Thanks for giving us such a great experience, we will definitely becoming back.

Stopped at the Clock warehouse Saturday in our Motorhome. Had a lovely meal. ( Kebab). My partner had Sea bass. The pub became very busy. At no time did the staff become fazed by how many people wanting food and drinks. Very impressed. Like a well oiled machine. We’ll definitely be back in the near future. 👍. Martin and Michelle.

1 hour wait for food people came in after us received food before us. servers were allocated to many tables each instead of trying to serve everyone we would not have had 3 servers waiting on us and not knowing who had ordered what. Lots of items on menu not available Maybe reduce the choice so at least you have a chance of having something to eat. Having visited before not much has changed to be honest.

Very good service, they found us a table quickly after another place lost our booking, Lucia was very efficient and took into account that we needed to get to the theatres on time. Food was very nicely presented

Pretty mediocre , the food wasn’t the best to be honest probably could have had a better burger from McDonald’s and for the price you pay I was expecting a bit more. Besides that the atmosphere was good but I overall just think it was mediocre not saying I wouldn’t come back

We visited the Clock Warehouse in Sawley for the first time yesterday happened to be over lunch time so we had a choice of their set priced lunch menu or the main menu. What a fantastic experience we had lovely staff who work so hard and nothing was too much trouble. The food was in our opinion exceptional I had the Halumi Kebab best I’ve ever had so full of taste and my wife whose celiac had a wonderful choice with her own menu again a lovely meal. We also decided to treat ourselves and have a desert again what a choice, my wife who normally has a limited choice as a celiac also pleasant surprise with lots more choice. We will definitely be back and recommend to our friends well worth a visit.

The food wasn’t as good as I hoped it would be ordered a Sunday dinner and the roast potatoes were rock hard they offered me Some more still very hard not nice at all couldn’t get my fork through any of them! Disappointed 😭

Very friendly service and quality food

It was very unclear as whether there was table service all through the pub. Having visited The Stepping Stones at Ashbourne the night before I assumed The Clock Warehouse was the same. I booked the Bar area but saw that a table appeared o be available at the full length window looking out in to the canal. My elderly father asked the young lady in The Dining area if we could sit there and she said she didn't see why not as there were no visible Reservations on any tables. We were just about to sit down and the other young person (who was later waiting tables) came over and said " the manager has asked me to tell you to sit elsewhere as this table is reserved " I said " well we were told we could sit anywhere when we arrived and also when my dad asked and there is no Reserved sign on this tables or any other tables" the young person said "well I'm sorry but it is taken" asked where we could sit and he said that we would have to wait while he checked with the manager. We eventually sat at the table next to the one we wanted still with a partial view of the canal. The young lady came and took our drinks order it became very busy but she was really attentive to me and my Dad and the other tables she covered. The drinks are pricey but the food is good.

Excellent curry and lasagne meals good diversity of menu. Especially nice scenery ie long boats canal ducks ect price not bad lovely waitress service.

Service and atmosphere were very good however the food was not quite as good as was hoped. The plates were hot but some of the food was semi warm. I ordered a medium rare steak which was unfortunately more well done. The beef dripping sauce was very good however! The steak and ale pie was also very good so I recommend that over any other dish. Lots of parking available outside which is good.

Arrived and was met by a chap at the desk. confirmed we had a booking and headed to the bar, where we waited, the waited some more - odd because the person at the desk could see us and the pub was not busy. Did eventually get seated and waited on by Lucia who was friendly and helpful. My meal was excellent (mac and cheese). My wife had the fillet of fish but found bones it. Our friend had a vegetarian dish which she said was tasty.

We had a lovely meal. Food was tasty, especially the steak and ale pie. The service by Lucia was excellent. She couldn’t have looked after us better.

Family meal for 14. Everything was set up appropriately along with requested high chair. Food and drinks ordered and delivered promptly and good quality. Overall good experience and would recommend to others and also use again for similar occasions

Excellent first visit for food. Will definitely be back.

A superb location adjacent to a busy historical canal and marina. A delightful multistorey building. However, a lone waiteress/bar server meant that service was extremely frustrating and very poor but worse was to follow. No beer! I was offered a range of foreign lagers but being over 18,² I am allowed to drink English beer. We settled for halves of Gunness and a lager, perused the expensive food menu and then left. A very disappointing visit and one that will not be repeated. We spoke with another visiting couple who were of a similar persuasion and who also departed without dining. This should be a wake up call to the management.

A very accommodating place to dine, couldn't ask for better food, both quality wise and portion size! Carolynne who served us was very attentive and helpful! Will be back!!
