There was a new young man serving on Friday 16th May, first shift, he was brilliant!! Very polite!!! The food was medioca at best. The lamb had no meat just fat and carrots rock hard! Not worth £20 for certain.

I had such a good experience at The Clock Warehouse, from the moment I walked in, the staff were welcoming and attentive. Carolynne looked after us and she did such an amazing job! Couldn’t thank her enough. The food was 10/10 I had the Roasted Lamb Rump & Mini Pie Duo. It was so amazing! Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Overall we enjoyed the experience, the ambience was nice and the food was generally good. It was little pricey but we could see it was trying to be a classier place than when we used to frequent. However to do that food could have been better - while it wasn't bad it wasn't great- and service was in the same ball park.

Our visit was spur of the moment to have dinner so had no reservation in a Wednesday evening. We got a seat arranged for us promptly. The staff were very friendly and took orders for drinks and our meal in good time. Drinks arrived within 5 minutes and took maybe 10 to 15 minutes for food to arrive. The food was very nice, we have been before which is why we came back again and was just as good as every other time we have been. The price is very reasonable, it is a higher standard of food and we will be back again soon.

Terrible service. I’m a type 1 diabetic who ordered a full sugar Pepsi. My fiancé ordered a Pepsi max. Waitress came over and told us both were Pepsi max. I kindly informed her I asked for a Pepsi and I wasn’t being fussy I needed it as my sugars were low. So she left one Pepsi Mac on the table for my fiance. 10 minutes proceeded to which my fiance had already drank at least a quarter of the “Pepsi max” then the waitress came back over to let us know that the drink she had given my finance was the proper Pepsi and I had to have that one and gave him the other Pepsi max. No offer of a replacement Pepsi for me just sorry and walked off. No personality to any of the staff, no apologies no offer of condiments when our meal arrived an hour later. Needless to say our first and last impression there was very disappointing I wouldn’t rate the food as it was lukewarm and the staff need replacing as they are quite rude with no courtesy or manners.

An excellent experience from start to finish. The waiter, Ashton, was incredibly friendly and attentive, always paying attention to every detail. The food, meanwhile, exceeded expectations: beautifully presented dishes, with authentic flavors and remarkable quality. Definitely a place we'll want to return to.

We had been here a couple of time but that was years ago. We (party of 5) went (13/05) for approx 13:00 and we walked in and found somewhere to sit. The server we had was lovely. But in regards to the food, it is far too expensive for what they give you. The tiny portion of fries given with each meal, and £2.99 for a side salad which consisted of 2 cherry tomatoes, 2 slices of dry cucumber, 4 or 5 baby gem lettuce leaves and rocket. The worse side salad I've ever been served. It should have been free! The chicken burger I had was hard, i had to pick all the fried hard bits off. Another person in our party had a cheese burger which had no flavour. And the veggie burger we ordered was burned. My friend said it tasted like burned vegetables. The staff don't approach you to check how the meal is. And I understand why they don't ask... beautiful pub, friendly staff, but unfortunately we won't be back for food.

We waited 20 mins to get served for a drink at the bar. Then tried to order food and was told 40 min wait. They were obviously understaffed, staff very stressed. Come on management sort staffing out. You also need to look after staff working there otherwise they will leave and find alternative employment

Lucia was amazing as busy as it was herself and anther tall male member of staff apologized for the delay in mine and my friends food taking a little longer than it should have. The drinks came to the table quickly and the soundings and atmosphere was delightful I’ll will most definitely be returning.

Came in for a beautiful Sunday roast dinner. The price was reasonable for the quality and service. Carolynne served us she was great, made us laugh! Thank you for your hospitality Carolynne and team.

Our first visit for lunch today, it was wonderful, the whole place is immaculate! We thoroughly enjoyed the Sea Bass, we sat very comfortably outside in the sunshine enjoying the stunning views. We'll definitely be back!

The clock warehouse has a great menu selection. It was a tough decision, but I really enjoyed the hunters' chicken schnitzel, which was Cook beautifully. It wasn't our first visit, and I'm delighted to say we've enjoyed our meals each and every time! Thank you 😊

Absolutely disgusting service today, we arrived as they were opening to be met with a grunt, we were then seated and as we waited we could hear disagreements between members of staff out in the open, they finally asked for our order but as we were waiting for someone we ordered just the child's food, after this we were completely ignored and upon complaint told by the rude young 'manager'? That they were understaffed as if this was our problem! After our complaint we were given completely the cold shoulder and our server (I've seen happier faces at a funeral) looked over multiple times but refused to even acknowledge us until we felt we had to leave! The way the 'manager' spoke to her kitchen staff in open was appalling and I really felt for them, it seems to be run by children not one person with accountability or responsibility what a shame a beautiful building/pub could be left in the hands of such incompetent children, I would advise any of the other pubs in Shardlow, imagine paying £20 a meal for that kind of service, disgusting!

Lucia was our waitress, she was very friendly and helpful and efficient, her service was very good. The plates were cold. Ordered steak and chips. Chips were cold and there wasn't enough salad on the plate Visit was a Friday night most people like fish and chips. Fish and chips were ordered, there was none available.

Do not go here unless you wish to die of old age whilst stood at the mostly vacant bar, waiting to be acknowledged by the dithering bar staff. Very disappointing

First time at clock warehouse. Part of one meal wasn't up to standard. My partners meal he said was delicious. I raised my concerns that were addressed promptly by the manager Carolynne. She was apologetic and offered another alternative which was delicious. The staff were all working super hard and were all very friendly. We will certainly return. Thanks for delivering us great customer service by the team but especially Carolynne.

We had booked well in advance for a Christmas set meal each for box day, we where well received and seated, drinks order taken and awaited our 1st of the 3 course set menu. While waiting we were watching great big plates of fish and chips /burgers etc going out to people who had just come out for a lunch. Oue 1st course arrived nice but small, second course arrived not as nice because it had no gravy or source of any kind and again small in size as was the desert course. We did men to the manager re size of the set Christmas menu (not cheap) compared to the standard meals. He was very good and applied a good discount for us. Overall 7 out of 10. We will be back but not for the set meals

We received a friendly welcome on our arrival and shown to our table. There was a relaxed atmosphere in the dining area and our table was ready for us. We were served attentively and professionally throughout the whole evening. The menu offered a great range of meals . We were a party of 5 and we ordered different meals. Our food was well presented and all were delicious. Overall we had a fabulous evening. Thank you especially to Carolynne who served us well. We will return.

Online booking was easy. The building was very impressive. Lovely looking menu with good choices. Asked for non alcoholic gin and non alcoholic cider..... Both on menu but unavailable! Went to order food.... Waitress listed unavailable items. It would have been quicker for her to tell us what was available! However, when food was brought out it was nice.

Over booked , we asked for a table for 5 and got a table for 4 with a extra chair the person who got this seat could not get there legs under the table, it's not the first time this has happened. The girls serving us are rushed of their feet bless them.

Awful, we left before even ordering

Me and my family have been refused to be served food twice, Friday and Saturday at 8pm. We came at 8pm because we know the kitchen is closing at 9pm, and both times the "kitchen was already closed". While writing this review I even asked the waiters at what time was the kitchen closed already, and they said 8:00pm. We actually think the food is ok, the atmosphere even better. We like the building, but the chef has other things to do while he's at work, so we won't bother anymore. This is unacceptable. You will never see us again.

Such a lovely place to come to: great pub with lovely staff, good food and great selection of ales. Fantastic canal and country walks straight from the car park. We’ve stayed one night in our Motorhome and loved every minute of it. We will return.

We went on a Sunday and we were glad that we booked as it was very busy. There was a little longer than usual wait for the food, but it was excellent. The front of house were all working incredibly hard with a special thanks to Caz and Poppy who looked after our table. Thanks!

We had a table reserved. Food took 1.5 hours to get to us from the time we ordered and when we checked in to see how long food would be, we were snapped at by a member of staff "we are very busy, you'll have to wait". When food did arrive, one of the turkey roasts had a single slice of turkey that was only 5x5cm big. We were offered a fresh meal but declined due to the significant wait. Someone did bring out a plate of turkey in the end as a correction and said the meal would be taken off the bill. When it came to paying for the meal, the full price was asked for. The table next to us waited the same amount of time just for their drinks to arrive. They had finished them by the time their food arrived, which was even longer. I felt quite sorry for them. The restaurant has gone down in quality over the last couple of years. It was a regular go-to for us but we will no longer visit as wait times are ridiculous, staff are rude and the food has gown downhill. The restaurant shouldn't keep seating people if it can't handle being busy.

Radar key on the baby change and no room to change in the ladies so it took 10 minutes to get someone to open it. The place was packed but they only had 2 wait staff and no floor manager- that I could see. Then, when we finally got to the service counter at 7:35 we were told that as we were walk-ins, they were no longer taking food orders. Incredibly disappointed.

Great building and location butterribly understaffed, order at table not working, have to queue at bar for age, which is even more frustrating when they've not taken your table number down correctly and you've had to chase food up, loo cubicles also ridiculously small so that you can't even get in the door without touching the bowl with your legs (quite discusting) all in all not worth the visit.

Advised on arrival it will be 45minutes to an hour wait. Had to prompt for drinks whilst eating main meal, when the wine would have been nice to drink with meal. Clearly not enough staff

Arrived 15 minutes before our 5pm booking. The couple Infront of us we just being shown to their seats. The girl that was seating them saw us waiting but for some reason took almost ten minutes to return to us. When she did return, she went straight behind the bar, before remembering that we were still waiting. When she finally got around to seeing us, we just seemed like a burden on her day. I think she was coming to the end of her shift as ten minutes later, there was someone else doing that job. Once we were seated, the young lad that was waiting our table was very tentative and polite. The service at this point was good and the food was good.

Good food . Lovely views over canal. Disliked dogs in restaurant areas. Should state which areas are dog free. Pleasant staff. Would recommend.

Me my sisters and mum visited here for a late mother day dinner. The location of this restaurant is beautiful however the service massively let it down. We arrived 30 minutes early and unfortunately was not shown to our table 45 minutes after out time slot and this was after queuing at the bar twice to prompt them we were still waiting. We had roast dinners the flavours on my plate were nice but the food was either undercooked or tasted pre heated. The pudding (Apple and cherry crumble) has a very peculiar taste to it which left a curry flavour in your mouth either turmeric or coriander.. after the amount of time we waited it wouldn't of gone a miss to offer a complentary drink or a side to go with our dinners. Maybe just a sorry or a smile wouldn't have gone a miss :)

Food really nice, would come back again.

Second visit to this great looking pub. It has a fantastic location right on the canal. The team are friendly and it was very clean. It was quite busy. I don't usually do a second review unless I feel it's warranted. I ordered the same/similar bar snack as last time, but was a little disappointed at the quality this time. It just wasn't as good. The prices are not cheap, and unfortunately the food did not stand up as well as last visit hence the review.

Awful got in at 2pm on the dot waited 45 mins for a table and watched loads of people being seated and not us....ruined our mother's day....piss poor pub and not one apology.

Good food. Good menu. Well priced. Quick service once order is actually placed at the bar, they seem understaffed. Feels dark but cosy, board games could be borrowed in the bar area too.

Additional review from 28/03/2025: Lovely setting, great service from Carolyn who took her time to check my wife's order due to certain allergies. My wife had ordered something on her allergy list but thankfully Carolyn double checked and an alternative choice of meal was selected. The venue is always a delight to visit as it is so scenic. Food was fab as ever without having to wait too long. Older review: Another lovely meal. Our 3rd visit in as many weeks. My wife is on crutches and my request for a suitable table was catered for. A lovely corner spot in the dining area. Tonight we were served by Carolynne and Ashton who gave fantastic and friendly service from start to finish. The dining area was very busy and both worked amazingly hard to meet customers needs. Drinks and food was served after only a small wait. Tonight we both had the chicken and mushroom pie which was of an excellent standard. Love this place and wish all the team a prosperous and busy year. It's also an amazing place to photograph.

Sunday Roast Day . Well appalling really because we had a great table , with a great view and the table service wasn’t too bad I suppose. The food was shocking - tiny amount of gravy for nearly £20 each , absolutely no flavour , everything was completely bland. For the price it was terrible . If it was £10-£12 each I probably wouldn’t be writing this but for nearly £20 each just for the food without a drink is terrible . The chef really needs to sit down and taste his food , potato’s specifically Absolute crap the best part of the dinner as well the thing everyone looks forward to . Should be better. Would avoid as go somewhere cheaper for a much better experience. Table service like I said wasn’t too bad . But I did have to ask 3 times for the bill which eventually came .

We had to wait about 15 mins to be seen at the front of house to be shown to our table. Our waitress Carolynne was very good and very helpful when ordering our meals.

Came in campervan phoned ahead .very warm welcome including our dog. Food was excellent as was drinks and service..stopped in carpark overnight ..highly recommend..fabulous venue

Great food, great staff,first visit won't be the last

The food was lovely, the setting was nice and the restaurant was clean. However the service was none existent - we were seated and received our meals in good time, however we sat with empty plates in front of us for 30 mins. I had to ask for a dessert menu, which we were given but plates were still not cleared for 10 minutes after that. I also then had to ask for our dessert orders to be taken. No one came to clear our plates again so I had to go to the bar for the bill. No one checked if we needed drinks throughout our visit so we had to go to the bar ourselves even though when we were seated we were told it was table service. We would have liked a craft beer option to be available on draught as an alternative to lager/ales.

As a large party meeting up, we were made very welcome. All the staff are incredibly welcoming and excellent at their jobs. The food is very tasty. Good sized portions and value for money. Beautiful building in an historic location. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the beef roast dinner everything was undercooked apart from the beef which was over cooked my son and husband have been being sick since they ate here staff don't know how to smile Nice pub inside just don't eat here!!!

Received the steak pie meal with "honey glazed carrots". It was one carrot boiled in water and cut in half. I told the waitress I thought the menu says honey glazed? The carrot was rock hard not even cooked through. She took the plate without saying anything, and later returned and they had sprinkled some pepper on the carrot and call that honey glazed. Not worth £15 at all. No apology, quite rude in her approach. No waiting staff either, so you will be waiting 20 minutes in a queue at the bar to order your food.

Went for Sunday lunch. We both had the lamb rump. All items perfectly cooked and a lovely setting. Difficult to fault really. Carolynne was excellent. My only gripe was there was no Chardonnay available?

Overall was good, nice food and service too, it gets pretty loud in the evenings. Also would be nice to be advised that starter is piping hot, as unfortunately we got bit burned. If you use app, you can't use any discounts, so if you come with any codes, order with waiter

All the staff were professional, polite and attentive. The food was of the highest quality and delicious, it arrived hot and in a timely manner. The atmosphere was excellent and the décor and building was amazing, we will definitely be returning.
