Sunday Roast Day . Well appalling really because we had a great table , with a great view and the table service wasn’t too bad I suppose. The food was shocking - tiny amount of gravy for nearly £20 each , absolutely no flavour , everything was completely bland. For the price it was terrible . If it was £10-£12 each I probably wouldn’t be writing this but for nearly £20 each just for the food without a drink is terrible . The chef really needs to sit down and taste his food , potato’s specifically Absolute crap the best part of the dinner as well the thing everyone looks forward to . Should be better. Would avoid as go somewhere cheaper for a much better experience. Table service like I said wasn’t too bad . But I did have to ask 3 times for the bill which eventually came .

We had to wait about 15 mins to be seen at the front of house to be shown to our table. Our waitress Carolynne was very good and very helpful when ordering our meals.

Great food, great staff,first visit won't be the last

The food was lovely, the setting was nice and the restaurant was clean. However the service was none existent - we were seated and received our meals in good time, however we sat with empty plates in front of us for 30 mins. I had to ask for a dessert menu, which we were given but plates were still not cleared for 10 minutes after that. I also then had to ask for our dessert orders to be taken. No one came to clear our plates again so I had to go to the bar for the bill. No one checked if we needed drinks throughout our visit so we had to go to the bar ourselves even though when we were seated we were told it was table service. We would have liked a craft beer option to be available on draught as an alternative to lager/ales.

Came in campervan phoned ahead .very warm welcome including our dog. Food was excellent as was drinks and service..stopped in carpark overnight ..highly recommend..fabulous venue

As a large party meeting up, we were made very welcome. All the staff are incredibly welcoming and excellent at their jobs. The food is very tasty. Good sized portions and value for money. Beautiful building in an historic location. Looking forward to our next visit.

We had the beef roast dinner everything was undercooked apart from the beef which was over cooked my son and husband have been being sick since they ate here staff don't know how to smile Nice pub inside just don't eat here!!!

Went for Sunday lunch. We both had the lamb rump. All items perfectly cooked and a lovely setting. Difficult to fault really. Carolynne was excellent. My only gripe was there was no Chardonnay available?

Received the steak pie meal with "honey glazed carrots". It was one carrot boiled in water and cut in half. I told the waitress I thought the menu says honey glazed? The carrot was rock hard not even cooked through. She took the plate without saying anything, and later returned and they had sprinkled some pepper on the carrot and call that honey glazed. Not worth £15 at all. No apology, quite rude in her approach. No waiting staff either, so you will be waiting 20 minutes in a queue at the bar to order your food.

Fantastic food with amazing service from Ashton and Carolynne. 5th time eating here and food and service was the same. 16 of us for my birthday, food arrived at the same time and was very hot. Highly Recommend

Overall was good, nice food and service too, it gets pretty loud in the evenings. Also would be nice to be advised that starter is piping hot, as unfortunately we got bit burned. If you use app, you can't use any discounts, so if you come with any codes, order with waiter

Had a lovely first experience here and Carolynne made it really enjoyable even though I had a little one and was part of a large group! Food was great and reasonably priced. You can see why this place is so popular

All the staff were professional, polite and attentive. The food was of the highest quality and delicious, it arrived hot and in a timely manner. The atmosphere was excellent and the décor and building was amazing, we will definitely be returning.

Lovely relaxing afternoon with my mum, the staff were really nice and attentive especially Carolynne she was lovely to us.

Our service was by Carolynne, who was fabulous, friendly and super efficient. Made our visit really enjoyable!

Had a really good experience. Cammy was extremely helpful with assistance with the menu. Food was very well cooked and nicely presented. Our waitress Abi was very courteous and helpful. All in all a good night out. We can well recommend and we will return.

We have visited here 4 or 5 times. Each time the food has been excellent, fresh, hot & tasty & decent beers too. Unfortunately I do have to give negative feedback on some aspects: I appreciate the staff are busy, however, there were many tables full of used dirty plates, cutlery, glasses, bottles, crisp packets etc and they were not cleared in the 1.5 hours we spent in the bar area. We came in on both Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd March & experienced the same issues for the full visit. People were looking for a place to sit but the tables weren’t cleared. Both days saw tables full of used dishes/glasses uncleared. I requested napkins, member of staff answered yes but didn’t bring any. There were used napkins on the floor in front of the bar & all staff just walked over them without picking them up. I myself cleared the glasses etc to the end of the bar & cleaned the table with antibacterial wipes I carry with us to enable us to sit & eat. This has left me reluctant to visit again but I do love Shardlow. Please ensure staff are trained to clear tables or indeed employ more staff as this has left a really bitter taste on what should be a pleasant experience.

Great place, plenty of parking and wonderful views through some huge glass windows. The staff were very helpful and efficient. The food was lovely and tasty. I would definitely recommend this place. We were a group of nine, and no one had any negative thoughts. We left there happy.

Lovely lunch next to the canal and great service from Ashton.

This was our first visit, the staff were all friendly which was nice to see, we all had the Sunday roast, the food was lovely, it was displayed really nicely so credit to the chefs too. Overall a really good first time. We will definitely go back.

Food not so great chose 2 things of the menu to be told sorry we haven't got that and oh sorry no chips, but 15 mins later food coming out with chips so wasn't happy at all.

Just had Sunday dinner. One beef and one pork. Large portions, very tasty. One of our favourite Sunday Dinners. Service very good for a busy pub from Dan and his team. Had the fiiiet steak and mini pie duo the other day and were highly satisfied

Beautiful location, excellent service, and top notch food. A little pricy, but you get what you pay for. Plenty of parking spaces, and outside seating looking over the river. Place was clean throughout.

After having bad experience last time we visited we we're dubious about another visit but this time was excellent. The you g lady who wS new to her role was so friendly and very patient with us as we didn't want to order straight away. The food we ordered was ex excellent so was very impressed with the difference from our last visit. Keep it up

Had fish and chips batter was rock hard not much fish inside chips were cold .we were offered a free pudding but we didn't want one had a drink instead we won't be returning

Whilst the food here is very nice, the service certainly could do with some improvements. We attended on a Saturday night and granted it was busy, however the service slightly dampened the overall experience. Initially when we were seated our drinks order was taken, which was convenient, however we waited 20 minutes for the drinks to arrive. The water for the table we requested was also missing. When it came to ordering food it was a bit confusing. A lot of signs indicate to use the online ordering - trying to use the online order app was a nightmare and it crashed twice deleting the order. We gave up and when to the till to order, whilst we were doing that someone then came to the table to take the order but we never got told they’d come to take the order. Clarification could be made with people when seating as to how they need to order. And when ordering at the till unfortunately there were a few meal options unavailable - but thats not always controllable so understandable. The starters came out extremely quickly which was nice, and the mains followed about 20 minutes after. Once arrived we were missing a side however no one checked back with the table and the wait at the bar whilst people were off doing other things was a general put off to trying to resolve this. No one came to see if we wanted any other drinks throughout the meal either. The food was great, and it’s a shame the service couldn’t quite meet the same standard on this occasion.

The best Sunday lunch we have had in a long time. Great value for the money too. Food came hot and was delicious. Excellent service from all staff, a special thank you to Carolynne who was super helpful and friendly. Thank you. We will definitely return.

Second time I have had a steak here and both time steak tough and gristly. Everything we wanted to order we were told repeatedly that because the menu changing not available! Three of our group wanted the lemon tart to be told 'because of the change in menu etc etc offered lemon meringue. Well no merange, aweful squinty cream and nearly £8. Aweful! Very very disappointing and pricey

Great old industrial building. It's a Marston formula menu but they do it well. Beer selection poor if you like real ale. Staff friendly but sometimes thin on the ground.

Large group for my daughter’s 30th birthday. All seated on large table. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Food was all brought out together.

Fantastic service from two waitresses just there when needed, and not sure out the 2 got me a blue cheese sauce, absolutely amazing service and will return on a regular basis now. Names Carolynne and Poppy.

Fabulous atmosphere. I occasionally come up to Shardlow for work from far away and my friend also comes to Derby for work from far away, after our day we always come here! This is our third time meeting here over amazing food, good drinks. The service is fabulous and the setting is stunning right next to the river. The interiors are warm and welcoming too! Overall a 10/10 establishment

Very disappointed. The decor and building look amazing but the customer service, quality of food and pricing were just not what you’d want from a place like this. After waiting five minutes to be seated for a table we had booked, we purchased two drinks. £13.10 for two pints is extortionate. I ordered a medium Ribeye Steak, which came out well done. I sent it back and didn’t get another for over 20 minutes. My girlfriend had finished her meal by the time it had come. No one offered me a drink whilst we waited and I had my empty glass on my table. The first person we alerted to the wrongly cooked steak didn’t even apologise. Even with a voucher and some money knocked off my bill, it still came to £30 for two meals and two drinks and for the quality, it wasn’t worth it. Sadly, cannot see us returning.

There was a large group of us that came in and Carolynne did a great job of serving us. She was very polite and made sure of any allergies with each person! Lovely food and place as always ☺️

Another lovely meal. Our 3rd visit in as many weeks. My wife is on crutches and my request for a suitable table was catered for. A lovely corner spot in the dining area. Tonight we were served by Carolynne and Ashton who gave fantastic and friendly service from start to finish. The dining area was very busy and both worked amazingly hard to meet customers needs. Drinks and food was served after only a small wait. Tonight we both had the chicken and mushroom pie which was of an excellent standard. Love this place and wish all the team a prosperous and busy year. It's also an amazing place to photograph.

Food was fantastic. Carolynne is absolutely fantastic and hosted us perfectly. The building is lovely and we will be back.

We were a party of 14 put downstairs on a Saturday I think they forgot us. All food pre ordered which was OK but when it came to our puddings after a long wait and everyone had rcd there puddings we were told no sticky toffee pudding she went to walk of leaving 3 members of our party with mo sweet until they asked what else they could have very poor

I have been a few times and have always had a nice experience, staff are always helpful and polite, food is always lovely and service has always been quick.

Painfully slow service - we were a table of 4, we had 2 courses which took 2 and a half hours. Food was fine. I had pan fried seabass which was OK, dessert (lemon tart) was obviously brought in and freezing cold. The restaurant was busy but not full, very few staff seemed tobe working and it was hard to find a member of staff to clear our dishes after staring at them for half an hour.

Carolynne was an amazing server, sat us quickly and got our food order to us within about 10 minutes. Kind warm and professional manner.

Food was delicious, but the service was horrific. When we first arrived the bloke said to wait at the front and he'd be back, 10 minute's later he came back, but in that time we'd sat at a table with the help of a lady in blonde. During the meal, we asked for some more gravy from the same guy and again he disappeared for some time. He returned once we'd spoken to a blonde lady and said our dinners are now cold. The guy did appologise and offered to warm our meals up in the microwave. The atmosphere is very chilled, and lovely decor. They have a big car park and are dog friendly, but we are overly disappointed with our trip, considering how much meals cost. I know this post may sound like I'm a nagging Karen, but the food is not cheap and we do expect the basics such as service and being asked how our food is, to be met. I'm sad to say we won't be returning.

Lovely atmosphere, although we didn't eat we do plan to go again, when it is warmer for lunch and to explore the grounds.

Great venue for lovely occasions, in our case pre Christmas family dinner and it was lovely. 3 course joy that started with breaded mushrooms , steak and ale pie with all the trimmings and cheesecake. Food was so good and portions a really good size. Lovely cosy setting my only concern and gripe was the prices of the drinks , taking the piss if I'm honest and what makes this place down £13 for pint of cider and larger and the cider was old mount but apart from that really enjoyed it and would love to return to try their regular menu but the price of drinks does make me hesitate slightly.

Great service from the team and our friendly and helpful server Emma - will definitely return. Fabulous food at reasonable prices.

A lovely warm welcome on Christmas day, shown to out table which was nicely set and not cramped in by other tables. Our 3 course Christmas meal was lovely, turkey cooked perfectly, vegetables not over cooked and where flavoursome. Dessert was lovely too. This was our 1st time not cooking on Christmas day and we are so glad we chose the Clock Warehouse. All of the staff where very busy but all had a happy face and helped anyone who needed assistance. We are going to try to convince the family to join us next year. Thank you so much to all of the staff who worked Christmas day. Happy new year.

We went for breakfast with Santa, service was slow and the food was average. The Santa was the best bit.

Food and service was perfect thank you. Atmosphere strange as we were the only 4 people in the room! When we asked if we could sit upstairs the answer was no as they were fully booked. There were still empty tables upstairs ( as they were when we arrived) when we left?
