Excellent value for money. Very good food for the price you are paying excellent service even though they were very busy and the beers are very well kept

Food very good. Steak and ale pie, pizza, curry all very tasty and reasonably priced. Went in lunch time, around 13:30 hours very busy.

Lovely place, food, service, atmosphere…. Cannot fault at all… Outsider but didn’t feel uncomfortable at all 🖤

Another fabulous meal at Green man. Chicken and bacon salad, hunters chicken and chicken tikka, all delicious. Staff great and atmosphere lovely. We will return soon.

Its a nice looking place and the drink selection is ok , but beware.. This is a local pub..for local people! It definately has that " League of gentlemen " vibe ! Good luck squeezing past the obnoxious locals who clut the entire bar and look at you asthough you've farted just because you'd like to actually access the bar to get a drink. Not unlike the Slaughtered Lamb pub from the film American Werewolf In London ." You made me miss… I've never missed that board before…”. " Beware the moon lads ! "

We booked Green Man for lunch after a canal walk. They easily accommodated 8 of us and we were very pleasantly surprised at the size of the pub, the atmosphere, cleanliness and very warm welcome we received. We all ordered different meals which arrived at the same time and the quality and portion size was amazing. Both food and drink was an affordable price, needless to say, we will be returning very soon.

Popped in for dinner, I had a half roasted chicken, very tasty and good value for money, very nice atmosphere and lovely staff. Would definitely visit again.

We rarely eat out since our daughter has developed food allergies. Its too risky and many places sadly do not take allergies seriously. She has ended up in resus before, so it was important for us to have all the knowledge we could have before we ate. Sian was amazing, providing us with all the information we needed via email, prior to coming. All 5 of us enjoyed our meal. It was delicious. Atmosphere great. Absolutely perfect from start to finish. Thankyou so much!

Decided to pop into the Green Man for some lunch. Went in to see every single table reserved for 3.00pm. The time I was there was 12.30pm. I asked if they had any tables to be told no they are all reserved. I explained that we would only be 45mins and be gone but she would t have it. No explanation! Think you will only be welcome in this establishment if you are a local! Won’t be going again. Very unwelcoming atmosphere!

Busy Christmas eve, stopped off to see family. Nice beer, good atmosphere, didn't eat but food looked good.

As far as the pub goes, yes, I'd return without question. The choice of beers wasn't massive, but food wise, it was busy, which is a good indicator.

Lovely Sunday lunch, good food, nothing is to much trouble nice attentive staff. Atmosphere easy and friendly. Good value too.

Went into to simply grab a takeaway coffee, the older women out of the two had new interpersonal skills, nor an attitude when asked her for drop of milk, simply wasn't given correct size lid, and other girl who was alot more helpful was alot mre profession, older lady had an attitude problem, by saying well , like i'm all by myself, and something you need to wait, serious stupid attiude prob, wouldn't recommend this place full STOP but well done to younger she was alot better

Absolutly amazing staff, we were refunded for the kids meal, we were accidently charged for it, but we hadn't even noticed, they came over to our table to tell us (very honest of them). The bar staff Chloe, was lovely, she bought our 4yr old over an icecream, made his day. A lady called Val sat at a nearby table, she was so kind, we didn't realise she was staff as she wasn't on shift, yet she still helped us. I will definately be a returning customer. Just a wonderful kind place to eat with our little boy. We would definately recommend to everyone. Thank you so much for such a lovely warm welcome and atmosphere 😊

We were a party off 10. We all had food, all of which was very good, not a single complaint. The staff were exceptionally good on what was a very busy afternoon and evening. Thanks to all concerned.

My partner & I called for lunch, he had fish & chips ( not at all greasy), I had the freshest salad with steak cooked to perfection....both for £15.00, thankyou. Barman/ server deserves credit too.

Lovely local pub offering real ales fair priced food

Went for a family meal 6 adults and 4 dogs on a night when an important football match was on. Lively atmosphere, very busy. The staff were amazing, service was prompt and friendly, good was fantastic and prices very competitive.

I attended a wake here, and the staff were amazing. The range of 0% alcohol was brilliant, and the food was out of this world. X

Lovely Sunday roast. Hot plates,hot food and good service all at a very good price.

We had a midweek evening meal here with an offer of 2 meals for the price of one. Some of the pints of beer were also on offer. We had meals, a bacon burger and chips, scampi and chips, one and a half pints of draught beer, all for £15. The food and service was excellent.

I had chicken, ham hock and leek pie with mash, peas, green beans and lashings of gravy. It was delicious and hot. I then had apple crumble and custard for dessert, and that too was delicious. Plenty of crumble and plenty of custard. The lady behind the bar took our orders for both drink and food. She then waited on our table, bringing the food when the kitchen signalled with a door bell. This lady worked tirelessly and barely stopped the whole time we were there. Personally, I couldn't fault this place. Excellent service and great value, tasty food.

Love this pub. Very tidy new looking upholstery inside and comfy seating. Has the proper local village pub feel to it and many friendly locals to make you feel welcome. Reasonably priced beers and Ales too. Never tried the food but the menu does look great. Only thing missing really is a log burning stove and the oak beams would be more inviting if painted black instead of white but doesn't deter the homely cosiness this pub has to offer. Well recommended for a visit if you're in Willington.

Good local pub.. sports screens if that's your thing. Good selection of ales. I Didn't have foo, but what was coming ou of the kitchen looked nice.

Nice pub, good food and friendly staff. Some seriously loud and obnoxious regulars with noisy dogs who are clearly welcomed. Staff ought to discourage behaviour like that for others to feel more at ease!

Great service on a busy World Cup night. Fairly standard pub fare but some good offers. We had the 2 main courses for £15 which was great value. Well organised kitchen and friendly bar staff. Much better than similar chain restaurants. Nice local vibe too.

Kind, attentive service for a family wake. Good buffet food, would definitely recommend.

Visited my daughter who lives in the village and went for a meal and a few pints with her her husband, my grandkids my brother and his wife! Really enjoyed the experience staff very friendly and good selection of drinks available.

Very nice welcoming atmosphere. Saw glasses collected regularly and tables clean down went vacant. An all-round great experience.

Been for a meal with friends. Pub is nicely done out, clean and tidy with pleasant staff. Good choice of menu standard pub fare but something to suit everyone. Meal was served in a timely manner and was fine, very fresh cooked chips, nice piece of steak but could have done with being hotter, and as with many pubs was served on a cold plate. Big downside at the time we visited, there was a group of very loud, very foul mouthed men sitting around who should have been put in their place or ejected by the staff but they were not and continued with their disgraceful behaviour despite there being many ladies present. We were able to locate in a different area of the room but being small there was no getting away from it. The lack of action or control by the staff who let this bad behaviour continue makes me think that we will not be returning .

Nice atmosphere, gvfm beer & food, in fact.... excellent!! I keep having the BLT sandwich with chips & salad, add a pint of lager, total £10.70!! Brilliant! Landlady actually bought a bottle of salad cream just for me! Can't fault it! But if you you paint on your eyebrows, better head for the Dragon!!

Lovely staff and excellent beer. They have a good, fenced beer garden, which is great for customers with dogs. Doggy treats and water bowl on request.

Very good experience with an unplanned/on spec visit. The Green Man is one of three establishments that are close to each other on/nearby the canal and walking path at Willington. We had only fancied a drink so we dropped into 'Green Man' which we had not been into for 'years'! As we relaxed enjoying our drinks (draught beer and a lager), we noticed a 'Meal Deal' for the day (Burger 2 for 1) so decided eventually to give it a try.. We were pleasantly surprised at the overall table service and also the quality and value for money of the 'Burger meals' we had ordered. (On review, they do other 'meal deals' on some other days). Later on that day we mentioned the experience when catching up with our daughter and son in law who also like walking. Unknown to us until yesterday, they have consequently tried it out and said there experience was much the same as ours. and like us, when in the area, will be returning. Hence I've decided to do a review and hopefully encourage a few more to do the same.

Have popped in here for a drink a couple of times and the food always looked amd smelt lovely! Went today for food and it was beautiful! Lovely friendly saff; such a clean place too, brilliant selection of drinks and the food menu is perfect! All the food was fresh and tasted gorgeous! Would definitely recommend this pub 100%! We went here Fri and Sat night after leaving download festival. Had a nightcap. Good service and an excellent range of drinks. Busy spot. Clean interior. Centrally located.

An event in the village cause extra custom and sales at the bar, but the service was appalling slow, over half an hour for each round.

Gets 5 stars alone for having Bass on tap, a win in any British pub book. 😂 Just my opinion, because otherwise, lovely pub to have a pint in, with a good selection of ales!

Had a excellent Sunday dinner here today out in the garden it was perfect! the staff are very welcoming and service is spot on!

Visited on a sunny afternoon, really lovely and friendly staff, and great refurbishment... I remember coming here in the 70's when I was a wee lad.. handy for the train as it's just opposite.. nice garden too, total sunspot, will be back again over the summer ☀️😎👍🍺
