Amalfi White Brasserie in South Derbyshire

Went with 3 boys… Food was exceptional. Son who's 9 loved the French Onion soup which is surprising! 12 year old tried the burger which was good but the duck he tried and said next time he's having that. Third had the risotto (he likes white rice) … he was ok with it, just ok…ate my fries…bit flavoured for him. My fillet epic, salmon starter unbelievably good. Puddings of course… all excellent. Great sommelier. Just a great experience with 3 sons trying something new. So pleased.

I have been in two minds whether to leave a review or not, but our friends with whom we dined on Saturday evening left fair review of our dining experience and were asked by the restaurant owner to remove it with the justification that it could hurt their business. I think this the wrong response to a truly dire dining experience. The Amalfi management really ought to put the effort into making an enjoyable dining experience that meets a customer’s expectation. If it is delighting, then Amalfi can expect a glowing review. If mediocre, then I probably wouldn’t bother writing any review. But when it was as bad as Saturday, it is the duty of customers to share our experience to make the Google Review website an true and honest knowledge base from which people can make a reliably informed decision. As such, I feel compelled to Inform those seeking to dine in Melbourne, that our experience was by some margin, the most awful dining experience in my significant experience. We were simply a table of four adults; table was booked for 7:15 pm. Food took way too long To arrive. After a couple of enquiries with staff as to its whereabouts, at 8:55, 1h 30 after ordering, the manager was asked and he told us that the food was being plated up as we speak and would be with us in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later, still no food. 3 of 4 meals arrived around 9:15. Mine was Dover sole. I have never eaten biltung fish before, but if I had, then I am pretty sure it would have confirmed that what I was served at Amalfi last weekend was a form of dehydrated fish protein, with the texture of leather. The fish knife was of no use here; scissors or a scalpel would have been more appropriate. I found it inedible and whilst upon closer inspection, the sole server did in fact have the aroma of fish, I still wasn’t completely convinced that I wasn’t served a shoe sole by some unfortunate error. So back to the kitchen my dish went, along with one of the other three meals received (still awaiting meal four). A little while later my meal returned. This time it was smothered in a sauce. Originally, the sauce accompanied the fish in a small jug and that was best, as the non-describe cornflour based sauce did not go with such a delicate fish. So this second attempt at delivering the fish, now swimming in a nut brown bechamel, raised suspicion that the biltung fish had undergone a restaurant rehydration process. However, closer inspection revealed that some of the scars from previous attempts to separate the biltung flesh from the carcass were not present on this plate of enrobed fish. So, using the knife to derobe the sole of its bechamel blanket. I tasted the fish, still dripping in sauce and the subtle delicate flavour of the supreme Dover sole was subdued, ruined if you would. It was really very unappetising. I ate a few fried new potatoes from the side bowl to keep hunger at bay, but sadly the dish was unredeemable and lay awaiting collection. The time now, approaching 10pm and whilst three of us received plates of something, the fourth person’s food arrived. This looked shocking, and without the chicken. Another trip back to the kitchen, and 10 minutes later Three pieces of chicken placed on the same plate of pasta (our friend’s part nibbled she’ll clearly visible where she left it). Never before have we we dined out with friends, only to dine on our meals at different times of the evening! Thankfully, the staff recognised that the food and service fell so far below acceptable, that they waived the drinks and food bill entirely. In summary, if you would like the Fawlty Towers dining experience, then Amalfi White could be just the restaurant for you!

The main course, or what was left in the fridge, arrived late after repeated requests to chase and came in drips and drabs. The fish was dry as a bone and sent back. The burger and chips went back twice, first chips were cold, then they served me the bottom of the frying basket and the burger had seen better days. The pasta and chicken arrived after we finished our mains and looked like slop and missing the chicken. It was now 10pm. We asked for the manager but she was clearly visiting each table to deal with complaints. Turns out the chef had not turned up and no plate washers in the kitchen. The experience was a disaster and the worst or group had experienced. We will not be going back and the bill was cancelled. The waitresses Megan and Georgia were fantastic but let down by the owners. They should be ashamed of themselves for letting this place open.

Visited in Nov 24 - it was a friends birthday, so a special occasion - there was just 4 of us. Got there just before 8, ordered food. (Half the menu wasn’t available, they’d run out of chicken, fish, ravioli and pigeon). We ordered, and at 9pm no sign of food. We queried it, was told it was on its way. 9.15pm queried it again, told again it was in its way. Restaurant was full, no one had any food, many people were complaining. 9.30pm the manager came out and said no more food was coming out of the kitchen, the chefs couldn’t cope and were going home! Basically told everyone to leave as there was no more food being made. Ended up in the Indian at 10pm so it ended with a nice curry at least!

Incredible service and amazing food, would highly recommend! The chef changed some of the dishes on the night and tried the duck which was new to the menu. Would definitely order again :)

We visited this Saturday having not been to Amalfi White in awhile. We had a lovely waitress called Ludi who was a delight and seemed very knowledgeable about the menu. The duck was fabulous and the fish of the day was Halibut and it was cooked perfectly. The teenagers had steaks and burgers so everyone was happy...! the vibe was relaxed and buzzy. would recommend.

Very over priced for what you got. Long wait for food. Very small portions and of average quality which is a shame. The ambience is good. The young waitresses were excellent and dealt with everything very professionally.

Me and my partner had a lovely time and meal yesterday, Natasha was so helpful and pleasant, she’s a credit to your restaurant! Food was beautiful also

Really disappointing experience. We booked Sunday lunch as a family meal to celebrate our dad’s birthday. The service was sooo slow, over an hour waiting for food is not acceptable particularly as the restaurant was not at all busy. When the food eventually arrived it was underwhelming. One average sized slice of pork, no crackling and the world’s smallest parsnip. The gravy was very thin and watery too. The carrots and Yorkshire pudding were delicious though. To top thinks off the waitress managed to splash some of the watery gravy on my head as she cleared our plates from the table. This was our second visit to AW and the first was very good so maybe this was just a bad day but I won’t be rushing back for Sunday lunch any time soon.

Absolutely awful "restaurant". Everything was bad bad bad. Food, service, decor and ambiance. Of eight people, each ordered different items that weren't available. Food came out at different times and all starters were cold. Food was way overpriced, low quality and limited in selection. Waiting staff had zero customer service skills. Will never go there again.

Had a brilliant evening going out for drinks with some friends. The bartender was lovely and the cocktails were really nice - I would highly recommend the sorrento sour! Have come in a lot for both drinks and food in the past and will definitely return.

Where to start! We visited today for lunch as a table of 2, we were waiting over 5 minutes to be seated as no one was on the desk. Food & drink was lovely as always. Food service was very slow to say we arrived to a nearly empty restaurant (did fill up later on though) Service is lacking, we had to ask for another round of drinks, never offered! Asked for some horseradish which never came. Never checked back on by any member of staff. When the staff came over to clear the table we asked if there was a manger on shift today and they said no just a supervisor. Sorry but on a Sunday surely a manager should be in. We have visited Amalfi numerous times and we never see a manager within the restaurant. Is there even a manager? We were delivered the bill my a lady who I believe may have been the supervisor, she was very rude and slammed the bill down and took my husbands drinks away before he even finished it, we tried to stop her but before we could say anything she was gone. We just paid and left Amalfi just isn’t the same anymore, we first visited a couple of years back and we had to wait 2 weeks to get in and it was amazing! I couldn’t fault it, but now it’s just not that anymore. Management is seriously lacking and don’t think we will be returning!

Impromptu visit for dinner on a Saturday evening and everything was a wonderful. The place, the food and the service was all top class. We absolutely loved it.

Food was bland, small (10 or so chips with my ~ £25 steak and chips), limited menu (perhaps 12 dishes, 3 of which are steak), and expensive for what and where it is. Servers were nice a presentable, but food for 2 took an hour-ish on a Saturday eve. There's a lot of sleeve tattoos, lip filler and tiny dresses. I thought that Amalfi meant Italian food but alas, the one pasta dish was bland and expensive, as above. All a bit Magaluf-en-Melbourne. Not my scene.

Had a lovely afternoon at amalfi white. Staff especially Nigel went above and beyond. Garden offered a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Food was good quality - especially the fillet steak

I've waited years to visit and finally got the opportunity this summer thanks to some vouchersI received for my 40th birthday. I have to admit, I was sadly underwhelmed with the experience. The staff were fantastic and attentive, Harriet in particular was a lovely girl and provided a service with a smile. The manager was also very pleasant. I don't know if because we had to choose from a "voucher menu", that we weren't getting the type of food I'd heard about all of these years, but I was disappointed with my starter and main. I had the goats cheese bon bons. It was OK, but the portion was very small in comparison to others we saw coming out. For my main, I went for the mushroom pasta. It was massively bland and tasted as if the sauce was made from a condensed mushroom soup can. It lacked any flavour which was disappointing. In the plus, my other half had a great steak. It melted! (5 stars for the steak!) The garnish looked like a pre-packed bag of mixed salad/ baby spinach which took over half the plate and was just thrown on. The decor was dated and the music was a little more "evening" than day time. This hasn't put us off visiting again however as the other menus look great; including the garden sharers. Hopefully just an off day as we want to utilise the garden (which looked lovely) and try something else.

Wow, what an AWEFUL restaurant. Limited menu with a lot of stuff not available, pathetic ambience, terrible service, below lukewarm food served and very bland. Focaccia was a sliced up baguette with butter.

Underwhelming. We went for Sunday roast. The service was a bit clunky and slow. The food was ok but the range of vegetables served was limited. When we asked for Horseradish sauce we were told “we ran out yesterday”. What restaurant starts a Sunday service without horseradish? There’s a Sainsbury’s over the road that they could have gone to. We used to live in Melbourne and were frequent visitors to Amalfi. We were excited about visiting as we haven’t been for a long time but were overall disappointed. It feels like the standard has dropped from when we used to visit circa 5yrs ago. On a positive the decor and ambience is still one of the best around.

Where do I start? We planned the night as a birthday meal, a group of 7 with high hopes considering the hype surrounding the place. Food looks great and so does the venue, thought it would be a great night… quite the juxtaposition. Firstly, once drinks and food had been ordered we were waiting one hour for food, albeit we had ordered the chateaubriand (takes more time, understandable) once food had arrived it looked okay but nothing special, especially considering the price. The chateau platter itself is not served traditionally and only has half the filet itself (five measly pieces), we had asked for medium-rare but it was rare, the steak tasted as good as a £5 Tesco value steak, and was cold upon serving. Now for the best part, the lobster… completely inedible, smelt of bleach or some form of plastic and was revolting. In exchange we had lobster… swapped for tempura shrimp…lobster, for shrimp. The peppercorn sauce was incredibly overpowering and the portion of chips was no larger than a medium from McDonald’s (which realistically would have been better). The problem being is that the platter is £100. You would expect for that money that the chefs would be able to make a decent meal, I think that’s a fair assessment but it appears that this time they were out of their depth. Livid is the expression best suited to how we felt. The other meals were sub-par with the exception of the salmon… and if you have any cooking experience then that’s all that needs to be said. Another steak was rare when medium rare was requested. To top it off we had requested a birthday gesture to which after following up on twice, never happened. In conclusion this place on our visit had as much flavour and excitement as a trench diggers left flip-flop and that’s being courteous. I would hope this is a one-off as many restaurants in the surrounding area are of much higher esteem for less of the price. Apart from the waitress no manager came to apologise, as most managers cower behind the young staff in places like this anyway. In conclusion, would rather have a Tesco meal deal than eat at this establishment again. To the young staff, I apologise that you were caught in the cross fire of negligence from your colleagues, you guys handled the situation in a professional conduct which was appreciated. After all the trouble £50 was knocked off the bill, which was still far too little but at that time I was hungry and wanted to leave. Won’t be returning and wouldn’t be payed to do so. To the staff that oversee the operation, the bulls head in Repton and wine house in Lichfield (+ many more in the surrounding area) are an absolute paramount above in quality for a lower price, I suggest you should take a note from their books. If you want a meal out to remember for a special occasion, or simply a lush Sunday lunch, Amalfi White is the perfect place. Having celebrated anniversaries here and a cheeky Sunday lunch, we couldn’t wish for a better venue. The food is exquisite and well priced for how beautiful it is. Staff are friendly but not in your face. Genuinely love Amalfi White. There is something quite special about it. We would recommend it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

'Gastro' pub prices and food for the gastronomically illiterate. Very average at best on all courses. Just a case of all fur coat and no knickers...fine dining this is not. To top it all, my stomach hasn't been good the following day either! Not recommended.

I’ll start by saying the service was amazing - the staff are a credit. Unfortunately that’s where it ends. I’ve never been so disappointed with a meal. They said they were trying a new menu and apologised (we got some money off of the bill) but it was still unacceptable. 1 steak we couldn’t chew, an over-cooked salmon on a load of baby gem lettuce, a garden salad that cost £5 which was essentially chopped lettuce a couple of un-ripe tomatoes and some sad bits of cucumber - no dressing. Avoid if you want to eat a quality meal!

Really nice place. More fine dining so don’t expect to feel full when you leave.

Not good at all .. brought my main out when I was still eating my starter . Then put my main ( salmon ) on the warmer and brought it out20 mins later so it was luke warm and over cooked .. so sent it back , hubby had eaten his steak my this time . 25 mins later my salmon came out ,, it was ok. . Very salty .. not impressed at all , nothing special , can make better at home … wasn’t offered a drink or anything as an an apology ,,, the waitress was lovely I must say ,, but not impressed with panning and chef … very mediocre for £130 !! Won’t be going back sorry to say .. felt like they wanted us in and out .. first time I’ve ever experienced being brought my main dish whilst still eating my starter 🤣

Had a fab time at Amalfi, started with one of the best mocktails i've ever had (recommend it, order a lavender and pear fizz and you won't be dissapointed!) The bar was really quick, and it was also spotless, barteam also were super friendly. The meal was amazing, tried the duck dish and was not dissapointed, perfectly pink and the gnocchi was so tasty. All the staff were super attentive, checking for drinks, keeping the table clear, making sure we all were happy with our meals. I want to say thanks especially to our waitress for the night, Ludi, she was so friendly and attentive! Thanks Amalfi, will be back.

I hate leaving negative reviews, but I feel like it has to be shared. I came for dinner here and had the fillet steak with a red wine jus, and when it came out the rest of the table laughed. It was £33.95 for the meal, not too bad until I realised what It came with, the most piss poor salad and literally about 12 chips. I left hungrier than when I arrived! God knows who dishes out the portions but it is embarrassing. The other 2 members of our party also had steaks, and said the same. Maybe they were running short of McCain oven chips that night… ps just a slither of broccoli wouldn’t go a miss…. I’m leaving 1 star on everything so it gets 1 star for the food. The venue and team were pleasant.

First time at amalfi white and the service by ludi was outstanding I would really recommend and what a lovely girl really good interaction and really new her stuff when recommending what to order I will defiantly be retuning

A great restaurant and bar, superb garden out the back with plenty of seating. Inside everywhere was really nice, staff very attentive and welcoming. Cocktails were superb and great to see local brands (white peak distillery) being so well represented Food superb , steaks cooked perfectly and a lovely ambience in the dining areas. Not a big open restaurant but one with little areas that make the dining seem very intimate but still relax. Looking forward to going back already !!

We have visited on several previous occasions and have always had an amazing time. Staff, service and food were always outstanding. You were made to feel special. We travelled here this time to attend the cocktail party in the garden. The first thing we noticed was that some of the key staff members, who we knew from previous visits, were no longer there. No front of house to greet you when you arrived and a 20 minute wait at the bar to be served. Drinks were fantastic and we made our way to the garden. We ordered food on the app. The food we wanted was unavailable so we just ordered some nibbles. Then it was announced shortly after that the bar was closing for fifteen minutes to allow them to catch up. We waited and tried to order drinks on the app. Most were showing as unavailable so decided to go to the bar but it was clear they couldn’t cope and we didn’t fancy standing there for another 20 minutes. Food hadn’t arrived after an hour so we were left with no food or drink. We decided to leave at this point and got a refund on the food. Why organise an event you simply cannot cater for? A very poor experience. The difference between this visit and our last which was around six months ago is night and day. I sincerely hope you get things sorted.

Lovely couple of hours in the garden, staff were lovely and food was amazing.

We was in the upstairs banquet room for a private party catering for about 130 guests, good bar choice for drinks, staff were very friendly, and there is a lovely restaurant area.

My partner booked this for a nice meal out, and it did not disappoint! Our waitress Ludi was absolutely incredible, and the food and drinks matched that too! She was always there when we needed and her service was exceptional. Really recommend going there.

We were in Melbourne for just a couple of days. On our first day, Friday, we popped into Amalfi White just after lunch and asked if they had a table for that evening. We were greeted by an utterly charming young man, who immediately made us feel at home and gave us a choice of times for dinner that evening. When we arrived that evening, we were greeted at the door by a lovely young lady, who ushered us in, got us nibbles and pointed us in the direction of the two-for-one cocktails. These were expertly and efficiently made, and beautifully presented. They were also absolutely delicious! The food was mainly Italian and absolutely first rate! Service was friendly, speedy and efficient, with all the drama you need in a busy restaurant. Clientele were mainly young people in groups - half a century younger than us! And yet we felt completely welcomed and at home. A really memorable experience.

I recently held my 30th birthday party at Amalfi White and it is a fabulous venue! Emma Tinsley and the team went above and beyond to make the party extremely special, and cater to all my needs. I felt at ease throughout the process and everything ran smoothly on the evening so I didn't need to worry at all. The party was a great success and it wouldn't have been the same without the wonderful team. Thank you Emma!

After a fantastic visit in October for my parents 60th Anniversary and a subsequent lunch here with friends that was equally as good i thought i would bring my two oldest friends here for dinner on Saturday 2nd March for dinner.........what a mistake that was. Food order was wrong and even though assured the correct item would be done we had finished the meal and nothing appeared. this included the possible Mâitre D assuring us to - he was never seen again. The vegetables served with a steak (which was good) were inedible as extremely undercooked (parsnips and possibly swede but pick any odd root vegetable), a very odd combination with a fillet steak. Service was haphazard, we had one super young waitress but the rest were not very good. The training given must be rush through and don't catch the punters eyes! They didn't have some aspects of the pudding one of our party had asked for so we decided to cancel it. Then a version turned up 10 minutes later. Food - not great Sevice - not great Will I return - never again I don't mind errors but to be ignored and have to point out the errors on the bill and sadly my friends who insisted on paying paid the service charge which i would have certainly not done. Shame - thought this was a great find.

We visited here as a party of 18 employees. Annabelle went above and beyond to ensure everything ran perfectly, and it did. The food, service and overall experience exceeded any expectations I had. It was the ideal setting for a company meal. Thank you Annabelle for making it perfect!

A mid week birthday meal for 3. Restaurant was quite quiet and staff were very attentive. All 3 of us enjoyed our meals, burgers and tagliatelle with pulled pork, sticky toffee pudding, melt in the mouth and choc brownie a little on dry side but tasty. This is our 2nd visit to this restaurant. I love the decor and atmosphere. Lovely touch bringing out a sparkler with little cake for the birthday person. Thank u for a lovely evening!

It was a while since we had been and we were a bit concerned about the mixed reviews. We had Saturday night dinner with brother and his wife. As ever the ambience was great, buzzy, noisy and fun. The place was packed. The menu was good and we had cocktails, wine and ended up both choosing Chateaubriand for the main courses. The food was good and the Chateaubriand was amazing with both cooked perfectly to our orders. Service was a little slow presumably because it was Saturday night and they were full but we were fine with that and the table was reserved for 2:30 which was plenty of time.

My wife and I went for my birthday celebration, we ordered from the set menu. All 3 courses were beautifully presented and tasted great, the staff were very welcoming and the service was excellent.

Very good food. Only suggestion would be that if someone is required to order ahead and goes for fish of the day; to clarify on arrival that it contains meat as I then had to wait for you to remake the dish when it arrived with bacon. However it was absolutely superb and an enormous serving!

We were informed that our original venue was cancelled due to a flood 48hrs before the event, we contacted Amalfi White and they managed to accommodate us for a private dining event. Nigel and his team pulled out all the stops to make this a rememberable evening, customer care and service, as well as the food was 1st class, all of our guests commented on how the enjoyed the whole experience. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Having stayed at a local Air bnb, the Boutique Cottage in Melbourne, the host suggested a few places to visit. This was highly recommended, and what a great experience we had. With a fine dining area and separate bar, Amalfi White balanced out the two really well whilst keeping a relaxed yet upbeat feel to the night. The cocktails were well presented and well made, and there was a selection of spirits and beers to choose from. I'll be back again, and thank you for a great night. The addition of the Christmas band was a nice touch for the Christmas period. 🍻🍷🎄📯🎼

Absolutely love Amalfi White, been a few times but our most recent trip for my birthday was my favourite. Fantastic, really interesting meal options (including for vegetarians) but also more traditional options for any fussy eaters. The highlight though was when we were reminiscing about a past trip when we'd had a delicious starter with a stilton cheese ice cream which was one of the most delicious things I've ever eaten, and a lovely guy who worked there overheard me and said we've got some in the freezer I'll go get some for you! So so so thoughtful and made my day (and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered!)

I visit Amalfi Whites regularly; it has always been a go to eatery for great food, service and drinks. However, on this occasion, AW did not meet its usual high standards. Before leaving a review I emailed the restaurant; I personally don’t like leaving negative reviews. However, the response I received from AW was in my opinion, was defensive and passive aggressive. Though, ended with the option of 2 free drinks on our next visit! The food was lovely. BUT, not up to the usual AW standards we have previously had. We have eaten at AW on more than 10 previous occasions and always been delighted with the food. Spending usually £150+ for 2 people. On this occasion, service was very slow and we had to go to the bar to obtain drinks. I understand that it was a busy period and if the restaurant is short staffed, tell the customer. People are usually sympathetic to this. However, restaurant service and paying a service charge, you should not need to go to the bar. Reading the recent reviews and sequential responses (below), is concerning; more from AW. AW responses are too defensive. Thank you AW for all the previous experiences. For now, we will not return.

Where to start… The food was phenomenal, I’ll take my hat off to the cheffing team for the absolutely mouth watering food. I had to myself the scallops followed by a wagyu burger finished off perfectly by a superb classic, the chocolate fondant; a simplistic desert made chic and delectable here at Amalfi. Every part was spot on, from the seared scallops, the crisp chips, beautifully cooked burger to the melt in the middle dark chocolate delight to finish off. A special thank you to our waitress Ludi for her fantastic and attentive service. Nothing was too big nor too small for her to handle with ease and prowess. Another thank you to Emma behind the bar for stirring up the evening with fantastic drinks and again an attentive service like no other. Lastly, thankyou the rest of the team here for making tonight something to truly remember. Nothing great comes without a cohesive team and the team here, is second to none. If you’re ever in town, this is the venue to visit. For drinks, dinner and an experience.

Popped in for lunch, the Christmas menu was fantastic and food was beautifully presented. There was only 2 other tables yet the service was incredible slow to the extend I had to wonder round the building to ask for the table to be cleared and to pay the bill. Only a small thing but took the edge off the experience.

Attended a xmas party, and wow, I've never experienced such bad service, It was beyond disorganised. £55 a head for food that was delivered so randomly i thought it was comical! Out came the turkey and ham on a platter, with pork pie. Then about 15 minutes later out came some quiche. I think some cheese followed, with no crackers. I'm sure then a pot of potatoes came out 1/2 hour later. Cant quite remember it was that bizarre. Maybe the crackers followed at this point. Then some bread, no oil. Oh', the oil followed about 10 minutes later. Last but not least another 15 minutes or so later out came a jug of gravy. No desserts, these apparently were left on the top table near the DJ. No chips at the end of the night, although i'm told these were also left on a random table The food quality itself was actually quite nice, just ran by people whom don't know what they are doing. Oh, i did try and contact customer services to complain, still waiting on a reply. Considering this restaurant is highly recommended. Would i come here again.... that'd be a no. People must attend this restaurant because its expensive and the 'place to be seen'. I would have been better off having a plate of chips in the pub across the road.

Great food as always. We came with another couple for a nice evening but could not hear anything due to a very, very loud party sitting opposite. After mentioning the issue no-one asked them to keep it down and the person behind the bar said "what do you expect us to do! Having paid £264 for a main course, what a dreadful night.

Classy venue with quality food and drinks.

Visited here for my mums 60th, we were seated in a lovely cute little private area, the only downside to this was a lot of random people opened the door thinking it was the toilet. Starters were a little disappointing - scallops were over cooked and really expensive Terrine was nice but only 1 small piece of toast, really think it should have 2, especially as the olives and bread ordered separately came with like a while baguette chopped up! Main dishes were fantastic, I had the Asian spiced chicken burger in bao buns and upgraded the fries to Parmesan fries - could not fault this one bit, so tasty and the sauce was fantastic! Others had the wagyu beef burgers which were equally as good and massive! The side of the lamb croquettes were absolutely delicious, so so tasty! You should add these to the main menu forever!! Daughter had the cheesecake and she said it was the best cheesecake she’s ever had. I recommend that you check the menu and prices before you visit here as it’s quite expensive. Worth it if you like nice food!

What a wonderful memorable occasion, made extra special by Ludi our waitress. Interesting conversation about literature ….. a true bonus for us ! Thank you. We’ll be back (as Annie almost said)

Had been looking forward to going to Amalfi white for quite some time but was really disappointed with the food and service. our food was pre ordered as a large party mid week. Only a couple of other tables were taken that evening and table was booked for 6.30 however we did not get our meals until 8.45. and it wasn't worth the wait. I had ordered the seabass, not much bigger than a sardine sat on the plate with 3 boiled new potatoes which tasted like they were out of a tin, two baby leeks that had seen better days and and one sliver of carrot , that looked like peel thatI assume had been fried to make it crispy. so so disappointing. left hungry as did ever other member of the party, some of the guests didn't even get their whole order but were told it was served at the other end of the table. No apologies given. poor experience I wont be returning.

Visited for Sunday lunch 22 Oct with family. We had been badly let down by another venue. The staff at Amalfi fitted us in. It was our Ruby wedding and they saved the day. The staff were very friendly, accomodating and couldn't do enough for us. Gave us a complimentary glass of fizz and mocktails for the 2 children. As if that wasn't enough they kindly came out after our meal with a choc brownie and ice cream with a sparkler and happy anniversary on it. It really made our day after being let down.lovely place and wonderful staff and food was amazing. First visit but will d efinitely return soon. A gem of a place. Many thanks for making our day and us feel so special. X

We booked Amalfi White to celebrate my parents 60th Wedding Anniversary. My brother and I did a quick visit a few weeks before and were shown an area to have a private dinner for nine, Hannah also kindly arranged to have a cake made for us to save me sorting. We were given access at lunchtime on the day to decorate it and all staff on both occasions were super and helpful. We arrived in the evening for dinner with all the family and we were greeted by the fantastic Jess who looked after us all evening (along with some of the rest of the team at odd times when needed). The food and service were superb and after my parents got tired and we decided to do the cake at home, Hannah very kindly didn't charge us for it - i cannot praise her, Jess and the whole team enough. Thank you for making my very elderly parents celebration a massive success.

We were invited to a 21st birthday party here. The room was lovely. We didn't have food just drinks from the bar. The only down side of this venue is lack of parking, plus there were road works at the time which made it even more difficult.

Wow wow. The food was exceptional. Service fantastic! We have Chateaubriand and it was the best we have had. Amazing!!

Visited Saturday 30th September to celebrate a birthday. Was very disappointed all round. Was seated in what appeared to be an alleyway where waiting staff would appear from behind me either side of my seat to let people pass. This was constant. People constantly stomping by. Ordered a port star martini which didn’t arrive with a shot of Prosecco, had to ask for this which was brought over. Scallops were tasty but very small which is not what we were expecting. The fillet steak was not a steak but came as sliced beef. The duck had little meat to it and was mostly duck fat which was revolting. What meat there was was tough. I had to ask for a steak knife to cut through it. The carrots and other vegetables although looked nice were what can only be described as being shown the heat. They were in the main raw and inedible. It didn’t help that the area was quite dark and you couldn’t see what you were doing. The waiting staff did not ask me if my meal was ok, merely took my plate away which was still full of inedible food. Extremely disappointed with the whole experience , given the price you pay and would not have expected this at all from an establishment such as this. Would not recommend.

Little bit disappointed compared few years ago. Food was nice but long waiting time.End of our dinning the we left the restaurant and the waitress run out from the restaurant with bill because they released they done mistake in the bill and the supervisor waitress came after us she’s said the bill was wrong and they need charge more for our dinner. I think is unprofessional and bit embarrassing for us because was looks like we walk off without payments. So we think never turn back again. We was their customer many time through years. Celebrating many occasions, but we think look somewhere else.

I booked the restaurant for my husbands surprise 30th birthday party and it was absolutely outstanding. Sian and her team from the minute I contacted them were so helpful and accommodating to all my requests and help make it a very special evening. They did a BBQ buffet for food which was outstanding and nothing was too much for them. We love it here and always visit but they really did pull out all the stops for us even decorating the venue for us before we all arrived.

Absolute disgusting people who run and own this place. Had to cancel booking due to COVID. They want to charge us £80 to cancel (4x£20). PLEASE AVOID AT ALL COSTS. iF YOU BOOK AND THEN HAVE TO CANCEL YOU WILL BE PENALISED HEAVILY. Imbecile owners, moronic manager who is enforcing this.

What would have been an amazing healthy Thai salad was ruined by sickly sweet glucose laden chilli sauce. Would order again, but ask to leave off the sugary sauce.

Lovely meal, great service and beautiful ambience. They even gave us a special desert to celebrate our wedding anniversary after asking us if we were celebrating a special occasion. Would definitely recommend you give the place a try.

We went for a civil wedding and they couldn't do enough for the guests. The hors d'oeuvres never stopped. The food itself was good and the whole day was better than expected. Even had entertainment laid on.

Nice venue, as a wedding photographer staff were really polite and helpful.

Held a 60th birthday meal here for 19 guests, the meals were very delicious, with a good selection to suit all diets. They were well presented and hot. The service was second to none and well attended. This is a very popular restaurant which I would strongly recommend you visit.

A fantastic restaurant. We came here to celebrate a special birthday with 17 of us. The staff and the service were faultless. The food was perfect and very tasty, top points to the chefs. The setting is really nice inside of the restaurant with a good selection of drinks and cocktails. Thank you for a very memorable birthday celebration.

Lovely place and great food friendly staff, bit miffed to be told by the waitress not too order the nibbles ahead of the mains as it would take ages to get our main and off she walked, surely nibbles are for before a meal?? Then as the staff are so keen to keep you glass filled I would take a sip of wine and then it would be filled, I had to ask them to stop. We finished eating and the aircon was turned off, it was hot so we went outside to the garden, we were then asked rather rudely if we wanted any desserts or just the bill. Two mins later asked to leave the garden due to license. Fair enough, message could have been delivered a bit better seeing as we had just paid £60 per person for drinks and a main course. As we went back in doors the staff were having their supper and the aircon turned back on, so it felt we were in the way. I felt we were rushed and what we asked for we were told better not to by the waitress. Wasn't my best experience and for the price I expected better treatment to be honest.

Visited the restaurant for our anniversary on the 8.7.23. The restaurant had a really welcoming atmosphere and the staff were very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and specials. The only thing that I was disappointed in was the lack of choice for vegetarian options, I felt that a few more options on the menu would have been nice. This is not a complaint or a put down of the restaurant but just a vegetarians views. I would still recommend the restaurant to friends and still enjoyed the ravioli option. Les.

Can’t fault the food, lovely atmosphere and the staff were faultless always making sure you have a memorable night. Thankyou guys

Excellent food and great service

Saturday lunch with the family (three adults). We were in luck as despite not booking we managed to get a table.We were so pleased we did. A great restaurant with amazing food (can't remember the whole menu), lovely food and a real buzz to the atmosphere when a number of groups of "ladies who lunch" arrived and instantaneously lifted the 'busyness" level. Lovely lunch and very highly recommended.
