Visited Proove this week for only my second time. Service was impeccable from Mary who looked after us from greeting to payment. She really is a credit to the friendly team and we will definitely be back for more Aperols made by her! She was particularly helpful in navigating the vegan menu, advising we get the parmigiana as a first choice option. Overall a great evening, my only critique would be the aged interior decoration which could do with a more sophisticated update in comparison to other venues I’ve visited.

Went for Lunch, was quiet and food was fantastic. I don't like how restaurants now automatically add a tip, even if discretionary as it adds pressure on the guests.

A fantastic afternoon at Proove for our family graduation party - super pizzas and children’s menu for smallest people - relaxed atmosphere, good music and really excellent staff - thank you Proove we will be back!

Poor service. Ok pizza. Saturday night. Burton Road was busy and we fancied something tasty. I’d eaten at Prove previously and remembered it positively. However when we walked in at 9.20 it was fairly quiet apart from a queue of delivery ap drivers. Immediately the server told us she needed to check if the kitchen was open. At 9.20. It’s an open kitchen. Literally a pizza oven in the corner. With staff making pizzas to takeaway. I got the distinct impression they weren’t bothered about serving us. We were grudgingly offered seats at a big communal table despite it being quiet. Honestly. Pizza was fine. Nothing memorable but fine. We ate. Paid. Left. Half an hour. When Rudys in Didsbury has queues out the door on a week day, Prove needs to up its game. There’s at least six other places locally serving artisan pizza.

Lovely pizzas, friendly staff, airy restaurant with seating spaced out nicely. Tables big enough to seat 14+ party size. Free on-street parking all around.

visited with friends on a Saturday, and was really happy to get in without booking! staff were friendly, but service was a bit slow - staff were often chatting behind the bar, rather than checking on guests. food was delicious - pizza had a good amount of topping, and the base tasted fresh!

Spot on in Didusbury. Went in for the first time, perfect design. Not too busy but still some table, (which is great for a Tuesday morning). Pizza was perfect as were the fries (proper Italian seasoning 😂❤️). That cheesecake OMG, gotta find out how they make it!!! Reagan (hoping is the right spelling 😂) amazing waiter attentive and always smiling, which is rare nowadays😊 Overall full, but happy!😃

Came here for a Friday night treat but was really disappointed with our visit to the point I couldn't recommend this restaurant. We were seated in a nice spot below the open skylight which was nice and bright, but the service was very poor, ordered drinks which took a while to come, then followed by taking order for food, pizza and fries were ordered...Pizza's came but the fries never did, we assumed they would bring them out, however half way through pizza we had to ask a lady where they are which she said they were coming.. then still no fries, we ask our original server he goes to have a look and at the same time we ask for mayo for our crusts, he replies yeah sure... again nothing comes, a while after he tells us sorry the fries were never put un fryer, so we say forget them - and still no mayo! Its a shame as pizza was nice but it was ruined by being on edge all meal waiting for things and constantly trying to get our servers attention to the point you cant relax or thinking 'should i eat my pizza or wait for other part to appear'. Then the bill comes with fries still on the bill and a £5 service charge, so my boyfriend goes to the till to rectify this problem and asking for service charge to be taken off as the service was terrible. Thankfully the woman takes fries, service charge off and the drinks which was good of her! Server was just really inattentive and relaxed and it really did spoil the meal.

Ordered their gluten free pizza naively thinking it would be wheat free too considering that's most of the time the case and they didn't write absolutely anywhere it's not. Allergen menu doesn't include gluten free option either. Long story short after a few bites i realised my mistake but had a bad allergic reaction. So if you have wheat allergy do avoid.

Beautiful authentic pizza options. The gluten free base was lovely and stone baked (not just prepackaged like some resteraunts offer). Would recommend

What can I say the pizza was lovely - I opted for a calzone filling but in a pizza instead and this did not disappoint. Once again the 2-4-1 cocktails at happy hour were still on. The staff were attentive, friendly and nothing was too much trouble

I made a food tour with plenty of stops, and so we just shared a garlic bread (with mozzarella) between two. Wow! The dough was, in a word, gorgeous, with the perfect amount of oregano scattered on top. I need to go back and try the Pizza Dolce…and the Bomboloni 😹

The gluten free pizza base felt undercooked and there wasn't much cheese on either the pizza or the cheesy garlic bread. The service was quite slow as they seemed to prioritise deliveroo orders over orders from those dining in. It wasn't awful but there are much nicer pizzerias in Manchester.

Ok but won't go back. Chips were really disappointing. We were squeezed in between other diners. Pizza OK but nothing special.

A spontaneous decision to go there on Saturday night turned out to be a delicious experience. It was by some distance the best pizza I have had anywhere in the UK; in my case the Diavola with extra rocket. The pizza bread was beautifully cooked fresh from the oven with all piquancy you would expect from this particular choice. The restaurant is light and airy. We had a table next to the kitchen which enables you to see the chefs at work, but well protected from any uncomfortable kitchen heat. The bottle of Barbera was decent and reasonably priced. The table service was extremely warm and friendly. All dishes were served promptly. Definitely one to return to the next time we’re visiting our son in Manchester.

Brilliant calzone in a clay oven - we didn’t know how big the portions were so ordered starters too - big mistake as we were full. The cocktails on 2-41 were great during happy hour too. Staff were lovely and friendly

My Mum and I had heard about Proove from friends who are regular diners, and as we were visiting the area from North Yorkshire for a tour of Salford Quays, we decided to treat ourselves. We weren't disappointed! Lovely menu and ambience, attentive and friendly staff. Everything was seamless, from ordering our meal through to asking for the bill. We had a lovely time, and will definitely go back.

Had a bit of a wait as they were so busy (I guess everywhere was on Valentine's night) but it was well worth persevering. Food was scrummy & staff were brilliant. Can't wait for a return visit!

Came across this business by accident whilst travelling for work early February. Having had such a great experience the first night I ended up eating here regularly whilst visiting Manchester. Really friendly staff, cocktails where so nice and the pizza was really tasty. I'd highly recommend eating here if you get the chance.

1st time at this wonderful restaurant, what a wonderful experience visiting this marvellous eatery. Went on a group booking for what I thought was just a pizza, wow it is so much more. The food is to die for, also the service, quality of food presented and general ambience of this fine establishment is a true gem in the middle of West Didsbury.

It’s one of my favourite pizza place in Manchester. If you want guaranteed good pizza, this is the place you want to go. The staffs are all lovely, taking care of guests so well. Also it’s nice to see the kitchen that you can tell the chefs are working so hard to make a great pizza for you.

We’ve visited Proove in Didsbury a couple of times and had a lovely experience. It’s been a while since we last went and if there’s been a shift in management, it shows. Me and my partner visited for a valentines meal and it was hugely disappointing. Staff were poorly trained and inattentive, not once did we receive a check back and after ordering, we had to remind wait staff to bring us our drinks and starters, after a 45 minute wait for food. We sat down at 8:30 and didn’t receive our mains until 9:45pm, by which point they had ran out of an ingredient for one of our pizzas, they arrived at different times and one had clearly been sat under a hot pass for a while. When we notified the staff that we were unhappy with the experience, we scarcely received an apology for the service. When wait staff consulted the manager he didn’t bother to speak to us directly or offer his apologies. We have both worked in hospitality ourselves and appreciate the stressors of restaurant work on a busy night, but the restaurant was understaffed and poorly managed. The food was late and average, we will not be returning.

DO NOT EAT AT THIS RESTAURANT. Not unless you want to spend the evening watching the kitchen slavishly churn out orders for Deliveroo. Staff ignoring miserable, hungry customers. Countless valentines evenings ruined. Shambolic. Never again. We gave up and ended up getting a pizza from the co-op on the way home. 👎

Ordered the pizza with Pesto as the base, cant recall the name of it. It was actually really nice. The pesto flavour was clearly coming through, the veg on it added more flavour. The waitress had the Mozzarella cheese substituted to Vegan which was good of her. She was a really pleasant girl (tall, slim with short hair) it's nice to visit a place where the staff are pleasant. Forgot to mention the Fries with a fancy name on the menu were just standard fries, that came a bit later than the pizza. The only thing that made me slightly sad faced was, i ordered pineapple juice but got apple instead. I can maybe understand the confusion.. apple pineapple, but yh, that's minor. All in all, it was a lovely pleasurable dining experience

Ordered from deliveroo all the way from Stockport. Pizza was still gorgeous even though it was only slightly warm (due to long journey, can't be avoided). Sign of a really good pizza. This place definitely has an edge on the other authentic pizza places in Manchester. The lunch deal is fantastic

Very good pizza. Not the best I’ve ever had (I would say Rudy’s is slightly better) but in combination with the really nice staff and the nice atmosphere you will not leave unsatisfied. The Burrata is excellent and the arancini is a must have. It’s really hard to find good arancini in Manchester (they’re like a deep fried rice ball filled with spicy meat)

They insist on using string pepperoni which I feel is cheap and not nearly as good

First time having a meal here, and it was lovely. Staff were really polite and attentive and the food was great. The only thing I’d say is that the middle of the pizza was a little too wet BUT once I cut a slice and folded it over it was fine. Great portions, really nice variety of flavours, definitely something for everyone. The star of the whole evening was the biscoff cheesecake. The dreamiest cheesecake ever. Also very accommodating when it came to bringing an assistance animal with us. Would absolutely return to Proove :)

Went last weekend after hearing positive things so thought we would give it a try. We were quickly sat down even though the place was quite busy given it was a Saturday night. The server who took our order was really nice and we thought we would have a good time. We got the olives to get us going, they were ok at best. Our garlic bread arrived but was burnt. We tried to eat it but it wasn’t edible. We told the waitress and she took it away and we asked for it to be taken off the bill as we didn’t want a replacement. At this point, they should have requested for our mains but this didn’t happen. We noticed that tables around us were getting food so we questioned the waitress and she said she would check on it but didn’t give us any feedback. We waited for a while and then asked what was happening and that if it was going to be much longer we would just leave. Eventually the mains arrived, two calzones and a couple of starters. One of calzones again was burnt so was sent back and had to wait again for another to be made. The calzone had a decent flavour but wasn’t worth the wait, the arancini was quite bland, little disappointing. When the bill arrived, it had a service charge included. We told the waitress, given the service hadn’t been great and the food kept arriving burnt, that we wanted it removed from the bill. She then went to remove it but we could see her complaining to other staff behind the bar about us refusing to pay service. Overall, the food isn’t worth the hipe and the service was mediocre at best.

Ordered a vegan pizza, was given a normal Funghi pizza instead, only to be told half way through eating it that it wasn't vegan and I was given the wrong pizza. Not the best thing to hear when I'm lactose intolerant. Some food never even showed up, even after asking multiple times. Specifically went there because of the vegan options. Organisation might have been off on the night, but seems to have let it down on this occasion.

Great place for fresh Naepolitan pizzas, Italian appetisers and coffee located on the chique Burton Road, West Didsbury. Detailed review: Visited the place for a child's first birthday party and so managed to sample a bit of everything. The place was large enough to accommodate a crowd of 25 well behaved adults and still have spare tables for the regular customers. Good ambience and lighting with simple decor and an elegant stone bake Naepolitan oven. The garlic bread and pizzas were fresh with good vegetarian options as well. The anti pasti verdure was refreshing and loved by all. Quite a few drinks options with spirits, beer and good coffee. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Parking is a universal concern at West Didsbury, but there are options on Orchard Road, Vicker Street or Cavendish road park. Definitely recommended as a good place to catch up.

I don’t know why people are so obsessed with Rudy’s when Proove Pizza is 1000 times better! They also have so many vegan options and their vegan lotus cheesecakes is unbelievable. Service is good and quick!

A group of us came here for a birthday meal after being recommended by a friend. The food was very good however the service was terrible. We spent most of our night trying to grab a servers attention and when we finally did, they’d walk off before we’d even finished ordering and not wait to hear the rest. This happened on numerous occasions where we had to call them back because we were not finished ordering. My starter had been forgotten off the list and eventually arrived when everyone else had finished theirs. It was the tiniest portion for something extremely pricey. We also requested that our chips came with our mains, which instead came with everyone else’s starters. When our mains came, one server gave my pizza to someone else and called it the wrong name. Luckily, we were able to work it out before anyone had started eating and swapped them back over. I would not be writing this review if the servers had turned around at the end and apologised for any of the inconveniences and perhaps even knocked my starter off the bill after it was so late. All it takes is a little acknowledgement and I would have walked back through the doors to give the place a go again. However, it was the total disregard for the shocking serving that caused me to walk out without any intent to come back.

Pizza was authentic and tasty also loved the dressing on the salad..only downfall was could do a bbq base pizza apart from that service was good and reasonably priced

Had to drop my 5 star rating as the quality of service on our last 2 visits has been poor to say the least resulting in Luke warm pizza .Real shame that the staff have changed to foreign people or students , no problem with that but surely a necessity to understand us when ordering?Dirty glasses capped it all . Won't return.

Couldn't fault this place if my life depended on it. Walking in, the smell alone intoxicated me. Such a rich, rustic scent of pizza dough from the woodfire ovens hit my nose and I literally had to stop moving just to take in the moment. Food speaks for itself, pizza is incredible and the supporting menu items are well crafted. Staff and service is top notch, friendly, warm and helpful. And for the price!!! Me and my mate had cocktails too - I swear I've been to other restaurants and eateries where I've paid triple the price for half as good an experience. Couldn't believe how cheap the bill was! Will definitely be back every time I'm in West Didsbury 💕

Pizza was amazing. We had 3 different ones - Margarita, Funghi and Pesto. All lovely. Had dough bites too. Really Nice. Service was good. All in all was a really nice place to sit and eat with friends.

Fantastic pizza, chilled-out atmosphere, family-friendly and amazing service. What more could you want? I loved the huge range of vegan options and starters, as well as the seating arrangements (these cool benches that leave more than enough room for huge pizzas!) Special thanks to whoever came up with the 'Italian fries' - they were hot, crispy, herby and totally addictive.

Quiet and cosy, with a lot of charm. The pizza was fantastic - doughy crusts and a tangy marinara sauce, with lots of garlic and basil oil. Delicious! There’s a great range of vegan options, including many tasty starters and desserts. The drinks menu is extensive too, with some good (& affordable) wines alongside the usual soft drinks. Quite family-friendly, always a good thing, and the staff were very helpful & polite. Can’t wait to come back! :)

Miles better than Rudy's Pizza. One of the UK's best Neapolitan pizzas for sure. Very impressed with the food, price, ambience & service. Very much worth the short tram out to West Didsbury. Been coming for years and look forward to returning soon.

I’d heard great things about Proove’s gluten free pizza, so was really excited to try it, especially as there aren’t many places that do fresh gluten free pizza bases! However, I was really disappointed. My pizza base tasted really dry and pretty stale (I’d go as far to say almost inedible), so I only ate some of it. The waitress was very nice about it and explained that they make the gluten free pizza bases in the morning, which might be why it now tasted dry at 5:30pm. The chef made me a fresh pizza base from scratch, and it went from the worst gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten to the best gluten free pizza I’ve ever eaten in the UK. Such a shame that I hadn’t been given a fresh one to begin with because the difference between the two was extreme. Despite the second attempt being fantastic, I’m not sure I’d go again because I don’t know which version of the pizza I’d get. Also we had to pay full price even though my boyfriend had finished his meal by the time my second attempt pizza arrived. Such a shame because the 2nd version of my gluten free pizza was really great! Also, the fries are labelled as GF on the menu, which is misleading because they’re cooked in a shared fryer and therefore not gluten free or safe for coeliacs.

The sour dough pizza tastes great and the speed at which it arrives is quite something. The atmosphere is pleasant, so are the staff.

You can’t really fault much at Proove. It does not seem the get the media attention like other pizza places in Manchester but it certainly does not fall behind any of them. Delivers the promise of authentic Neapolitan pizza and is probably the best value for money of the type in Manchester.

Visited here on a recent trip to Manchester hoping for a quick meal before heading back to London. The restaurant was empty when we arrived (a table of 4) so we were seated immediately. We ordered drinks and then food but we’re told they had no burrata available or fior de latte mozzarella and only had normal mozzarella. This was a shame as both cheeses featured heavily on the menu. We ordered our food with substitutions, starters were okay. However for 3 pizzas and one salad, the food took a bizarrely long time. We could see the chef and the pizza oven but somehow this took over half an hour to arrive. The pizza was okay but sadly nothing memorable. Wouldn’t return.

Well what a waste of money. Proove west didsbury came highly recommended by family who live nearby, that combined with photos of well loaded pizzas (and the chance of getting our favourite aranchini) made the decision to order from here whilst visiting in the local area. But what a serious mistake that was, the food when it arrived was stone cold, so what should have been a tasty and authentic treat, was a cold soggy and miserable experience, the topping whilst tasty (even cold) were miserly compared to photos on Google, don't waste your money on extra toppings (£1,60 for 6 tiny olives and same for similar of mushroom), add that to the missing aranchini and it all adds up to.a bad experience. Have contacted deliveroo to complain and request compensation but they not interested. I can't understand that I live in a remote village in West yorkshire and yet I get food delivered piping hot from 5 to 8 miles away and yet on a visit to Manchester I can't get hot food delivered from a mile n half away. Never again shall i make this mistake. Proove pizza can I suggest you stop offering delivoo as a delivery service before they totally ruin your reputation

Popped in unexpectedly and was seated straight away, service was really attentive and fast. Mocktails were fabulous, and the pizza was one of the best I think I've ever eaten. Perfectly wood fired pizza you can see being cooked in the pizza oven, the dessert pizza was absolutely amazing. The cost was reasonable, two Mocktails, Pizzas and a dessert pizza to share came to 43.23. Go!!

Quite simply a really positive experience. The service here is just outstanding - every single member of staff is engaging, full of positive energy, and attentive. You can't help but smile with them! The food is excellent, although my pizza could have spent another 30 seconds in the oven as it was a touch dumpy, and the cold plate meant the temperature dropped rapidly, but I just love love love the quality of ingredients on the pizza and the selection on the menu. Therefore, my temperature remarks are just nit-picking, and things I can easily look past. Both times I have been, I left with a big smile; the product is great, the service is exceptional, and they have got the concept of what a pizzeria should be absolutely spot on - simplicity, quality, service, and consistency. What more could you want?

We received a delivery via Deliveroo - the cheese in the salad was off - we were missing an item - the pizza was missing a topping. We were called to be informed of this, but still charged. Deliveroo refused compensation. We have ordered in excess of 20 times with no issues from the restaurant. Make sure that you order from the restaurant and not the kitchen.

I ordered (via Deliveroo) a gluten free pizza and a gluten free garlic bread because I have coeliac disease. It was the worst gf pizza base I’ve tried so far. It was really bitter tasting and the bottoms seemed to have a coating of raw flour (which might be the cause of the bitter taste). The topping of the pizza was nice so we were able to eat some of it but the garlic bread was pretty inedible so we left most of it. The brownie was nice albeit a little bit salty tasting. Not sure what went wrong here as it has come highly recommended in the local coeliac group I’m in but it definitely wasn’t an enjoyable experience unfortunately.

With our first visit to Proove we had high hopes, we had heard good things about this Pizza restaurant. Unfortunately it went downhill. The meatballs were hard and rubbery. They weren't able to cook 3 of the starters/side dishes as the fryer was out of order. The Milkshake had very little flavour and the size was very disappointing considering the premium price. When the actual pizza turned up it looked more positive, however the pizza sauce was overwhelmed with salt which ruined the rest of the meal. Service was with a smile but the staff seemed to be running around and not very effective, I am unsure if they were understaffed that night. It is a shame, I had been looking forward to this one for a while. Won't be going again. Very premium price for most definitely not premium product.

Had a table booked for 6pm, ordered our pizzas straight away - 6:45pm still waiting, while we had full view of the kitchen and the chefs who were making pizzas non stop for delivery orders. Asked our server how far away our food was, and got told very rudely and unhelpfully that they were busy and would get to our order when they were ready - even tho there were maybe 3 other groups sitting at tables in the whole restaurant? Didn’t even apologise. We left straight away after how rudely we were treated, then they had the audacity to ask if we would like to wait to get them for takeaway. What a joke! What’s the point of going to the restaurant when it would be quicker to order Deliveroo from home. Won’t be back.
