The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Food excellent, it was quiet when we went.

Most authentic Italian I've been to in the UK. Food was quality, atmosphere great and really different menu from most other places. Highly recommend if know your Italian eateries (if you're expecting Prezzo or Bella Italia - go there, but this is far superior!)

La vespa used to be one of my favourite restaurants in London, unfortunately I assume they closed the restaurant and the place called “little Italy” bough them. The food is not the same anymore and is not a typical Italian food with Italian ingredients, is overpriced, honestly just save your money and go somewhere else.

Fair to say the food offerings were OK , and service very good. But we both felt that, and whilst realising it's in an expensive picturesque area of Norwich city centre, it's overpriced for what it is. £20 for a half ltr of bog standard white house wine is steep, as is £3 for a jug of tapwater . No decent starters for under £12 and a small side salad straight out of a bag for £7 is ridiculous. In fairness my wife chose the hake dish, and obviously fish is expensive nowadays, but £25 was OTT . Even basic standards like lasagne are at least 25% overpriced. Total bill for one starter, two mains and the wine plus coffee (no sweets) was £100.

Visited Bottelino’s for a colleague’s leaving do ~30 of us. To start with, the service was impeccable - considering the size of our group, there was no wait for our food, everything came out in a timely manner and the staff couldn’t do enough for us! Food was tasty, everyone commented on how delicious their food was and how generous the portion sizes were! Would definitely visit again!
