Walked in on a Saturday having not booked and was glad they had availability. Service was good and food was lovely. Would return.

Always a wonderful experience. Atmosphere is warm and welcoming and balances trendy and classy perfectly. The staff go above and beyond to offer a wonderful, attentive and friendly service. The food never disappoints with quality at a high standard. Works well for family dining, romantic meals and larger groups too. A firm favourite for us !

My friend and I visited Ask Italian in Birmingham town centre last Friday. The service was excellent; our waitress Olivia was lovely, she was very helpful and friendly. The restaurant was spotless, and the food was absolutely gorgeous. I would definitely go back and I have no hesitation in recommending Ask Italian to anyone. The customer service at Ask Italian was far superior to Bella Italia on the opposite side of the street, which was initially our first choice. We spent about 10 minutes standing around being ghosted by staff, before eventually managing to attract the attention of a member of staff, who was actually quite rude. Hence us going to Ask Italian instead which turned out to be a much better choice.

Myself and a friend ate at Ask Italian, Birmingham city centre last night, Saturday. It was busy but this did not impact service or the food in any way. Our waiter, Jaydan, was very knowledgeable regarding allergies which reassured me, thanks. The food was delicious 😋 definitely be back and recommend trying.

What has happened to this place. Uninviting and looks dilapidated. On arrival it looked shut as they had chairs and tables stacked up in the foyer. We could not tell if it was open for business only for the fact we saw a few diners in there. I have not been here for many years so I was wholly disappointed as I used to like it here and it was my go to place. Food not up to the standard that it used to be, totally mediocre. Myself and my mom had the lasagne which to be perfectly honest I can make better myself. Believe you me there are many, many better places to eat in Birmingham. I will never eat here again. The staff looked really miserable also. There is nothing good to say about it.

Had a fab time at Ask. Saturday evening table booked. Arrived early and seated with no issues. Our server Emily K was a star...she recommended items off the menu and wasn't wrong with her recommendations. The food was fabulous. It was quite quiet when we arrived but was extremely busy by the time we left but Emily K still had time to chat with us which made our experience for a night out so much better!

Busy vibrant restaurant with great service! Nice food and a good glass of wine too. Our waiter was Jayden and he was really lovely and although he was rushed off his feet he had time and smiles for everyone!

Very warm welcome and seated immediately, staff are very friendly and help with menu selection. I decided to have a cocktail after a few minutes the bar tender came to our table saying they did not have an ingredient, offered an alternative in a very professional manner The starters were delicious hot and tasty for my wife and chilled but not to cold for for myself The mains were just as delicious both just the right temperature to eat This is our first time at Ask it won’t be the last The staff training is excellent Also the IT is on point easy to pay at the table Accepted a blue light care without any fuss or bother

A bit slow to get food! But quality is very good

Today I passed in with my partner, the waitress ( black hair and very dodgy aspect ) took us out as we are not welcome in … without any respect! She told us to leave as we did not have a reservation.. the restaurant wasn’t busy at all ! U can make a place for your customers, doesn’t matter what ! Shame and again a big shame !!! You should treat your customers with more respect in the future ! 🙂

So many times I’ve given this place the benefit of the doubt. No more. Pasta is ALWAYS overcooked. Always. How long doest it take to learn? Service is passable. Just. Wines are ok. Give it a miss. Sorriso, nearby, is so much better. Want real Italian ? Don’t come here.

Waited far too long to be served our drinks order & food, had to ask two members of staff why the delay. The food was not great, didn’t have much taste, the only good thing I can say was the music in the background, unfortunately it’s a no for me 😑

Food was amazing, so tasty. Server was polite & had a nice smile. Bit on the expensive side but your paying for good quality food so can't complain. Plus you get a free selected dessert once a month if you have the app!

Service is not good. My table waited 45 minutes for one salad that we ordered for takeaway after we finished our initial meal. We had to ask them where it was after 20 minutes to which they left and came back 5 minutes later, after talking to the chefs, telling us that “they’re working on it”. Having already paid for our full bill, inclusive of the salad, we had to continue to just wait the full 45 minutes until it was done, even though we had finished eating ages ago. Once our salad finally arrived, the wait staff didn’t say anything to us when they handed it and nobody apologised or even greeted us goodbye as we left, despite our patience in waiting for the food.

Tobais in Birmingham was the most fantastic waiter anyone could wish for. Extremely intuitive to our specific dietary needs and preferences. I would 100% come back to the restaurant based entirely from Tobias' exceptional attentiveness. Tobias sets the standard for service.

To be fair, it was a very busy Saturday but still... The service was bad... We ordered online from our table which you would think would be quicker but seemed to end up being slower. We had to chase up our desserts twice. The good was nice though.

Had dinner here with a friend. Service is quick and the staff are polite. It was a Tuesday, so they were not busy. The food was nice and hot when it arrived. I've been here before on a Saturday and there is sometimes a queue if you haven't reserved a table.

Organised and dined at Ask Italian, for 9. 10 days before attendance, booking was amended from initial 8 to instead 9 people, experience for that enquiry was handled very well and accommodated. Great selection and wide array of choice with food and drinks on menu’s, also a valentines set menu available offering a great deal, which 2 of our party ordered from. Staff catered well to one of our guest’s dietary needs. All food in starters and mains involving pizza’s and pasta dishes as well as including many side orders came out ever so fast, really quick and efficiently, everything were seasoned well, very tasty and delicious. The atmosphere was superb with a bit of light background music, great atmospheric lighting and a lovely large wood table which was perfect for our group booking. Great company with friends, as always, everyone dressed up for the occasion and a lovely time spent together. Lovely idea with the lemonade shot, the shot glasses were so cute - thank you! Drink orders; a combination of soft and alcoholic beverages were taken very quickly and efficiently. Tap water and glasses given. The bathroom facilities were very clean, overall restaurant’s appearance is large, suitable for small and large bookings, restaurant looked very tidy and the front of house staff were friendly and polite on welcome and departure in our booking. We were sat right by the kitchen, so we could see and smell all the food being prepped and ready for service. The service within the second half of our meal when there were a changeover of staff was a little poor in comparison to the first half of our meal (a comedy of errors with drink order gone wrong which we had to re-query, 4 desserts; two of which were the same taking a long time to come out from being ordered, ice cream melted on one of the desserts which sadly ruined the dessert experience for one guest, under-par hospitality at times, no new napkins for change of course from main course to dessert course which professionally and etiquette wise usually happens in most dining establishments, no further asking if we or the food and drinks were okay or if we wanted to order anything further, a little bit of confusion what was going on at times, one of our guests had to ask for spoons to be brought to the table whilst waiting briefly from being presented with dessert wondering where spoons were and altogether second half of service felt a little muddled unfortunately). The service charge at the end was rather expensive, so alternatively some of the party tipped instead, respectively. Yet despite that, the first half of the service was phenomenal and exceptional. Glowing reviews for how we received so much great hospitality in the first half of our meal, and tips were given for that reason, alone. Thank you so much! Our main and biggest highlight without hesitation was the super lovely Emily K, who looked after us and delivered absolutely above and beyond; worth every moment. Emily was really chatty, took photos of our party (thank you!), built a great rapport with us, checked in on us pretty well, throughout and regularly; asking us if we were okay with food, drinks, everything etc., asked us if we wanted anything else, clarified things extremely well, handled our individual payments wonderfully, always very engaging, pride herself with professionalism, personality and a infectious smile, very experienced and we could just tell how much Emily loves her work. We were grateful to have Emily back with us to finalise all our payments. Emily’s professionalism and courtesy, was perfect. Thank you so so so much Emily. Happy Valentine’s! ❤️

Mistakenly decided to go out for a family meal on Valentine’s Day and feared we wouldn’t find anywhere but I was completely wrong. ASK found us a perfect table. Fabulous food, great atmosphere and really lovely service from Emily K. Will be sure to visit again. Thanks 🤩

We were served by Tobias, great young man very friendly and helpful, for starters we had mushrooms Al forno followed by Funghi risotto & chicken, i had lugancia & nduja excellent and tasty . For dessert we both had lemon meringue tart. Can not fault the food it's excellent as is the service, definitely recommend a visit we will definitely be back.

Service was horrendous, they lost our ticket to start making the food and because of that we had to wait 45 minutes for the starters we ordered. They also took 30 minutes to bring our drinks after ordering them.

My husband and I went for a meal . Despite I’m not big fun of Italian food , I can definitely say I’m definitely in love with the Italian cuisine now . We recently dined at this restaurant and the restaurant's touches of Italian décor create a cozy yet upscale vibe. The food was quite simply, perfection and every dish felt like it was crafted with care and passion. The garlic bread was spot on. Highly recommended!

The atmosphere at Ask Italian Birmingham was lovely and everyone serving were so attentive and welcoming. the food was delicious i had the linguine carbonara and it was great however the pizzas were dry and thin and tasteless and the service was appalling the staff were constantly forgetting about our table and it took them over half an hour to take our order, the food arrived relatively quickly then we had to ask 4 times to get the bill which was horrendous. the restaurant was freezing cold the whole 3 hours we were there in total mostly waiting around but it is well decorated

We arrived without a booking on the Saturday before Christmas, the staff were really friendly and found space for us. We had 3 courses from the set menu, plus cocktails which was very good value for money.

We went to ask Italian as a group of 6 at around 5pm. We ordered a few garlic breads, some pizzas and a number of pasta dishes. I feel for the food and drink it was a little expensive for what you get. The food is nice enough but I felt £175 was quite expensive for what we had. In addition we had an hour wait for our food which seemed excessive. The food was ok and seemed fresh and tasted good. The atmosphere seemed a little chaotic.

Excellent friendly service, when I advised one of our party was gluten free they knew exactly what do to do and which menus and allergen info we needed, food was very nice, gluten free pizza base was pretty good, not the best we’ve had but far from the worse. Our server OliviaG was on it, attentive and friendly, we would eat here again.

Tiny portions. We ordered bread for starters which had two pieces of bread each and a tiny pot of balsamic vinegar and oil. The main course was more like a starter. The pudding was nice, it was a gingerbread ice cream. Luckily they offered 30% off on BlueLightCard. Otherwise I would’ve been very disappointed to pay full price asit was not worth the money. Staff were pleasant.
