Great evening out at a large round table for 6. Excellent food, although far too much, with huge starters and massive pasta bowls for mains. The food was tasty and rich. The staff were very busy but got everything right whilst maintaining a pleasant and helpful demeanour. The rooms were very busy and still not too loud, however, the staff played the "birthday song" 3 times on the Friday night whilst I was there. I was surprised that an Italien restaurant didn't have a wine list, but as the off-license is across the road and 4 doors down, it ended up saving us a lot of money. Great night.

Lovely Italian food. Pastas and pizzas are very nice and cheesy garlic bread was very nice as were the garlic mushrooms. Was disappointed with the lasagne lacked flavour. Mocktails are nice but didn’t appreciate the look on the waiters face when she asked for no ice. Don’t make your customers feel uncomfortable over such small requests, he must have questioned her three times over her decision to have no ice, really? We went on a Friday night we were surrounded by large groups that were very loud. Did not enjoy the atmosphere there and hence we left very quickly. Came on a lunch time and it was much nicer atmosphere.

The food here is fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. However, it can get quite noisy at times, especially when there’s a birthday celebration and the staff breaks into a sing-along. It’s a fun atmosphere, but not ideal if you’re looking for a quiet meal. Also, it would be great to see more vegan options on the menu to cater to a wider range of dietary preferences. Overall, a lively spot with great food, just be prepared for a bit of noise.

Food is good and waiters are friendly BUT lacking organisation and customer service which lets it down majorly. We sat down ordered , had drinks and then got told they wanted to move us to accommodate a big party , ok. we moved, but they found other spaces for the big party on the other side. Fair enough,we stayed where they moved us too. A long wait for our order, starters and mains. People who came long after us already received there’s and were eating . Asked and as we moved table they forgot about us. Great. Missed one of the two starters we ordered they never brought it over , so we just shared The one.. saw them take out starter to the table we previously were sat 🤦🏽‍♀️ long wait again for Mains. We ate and asked for the bill more waiting around asking 3 different staff for it , to receive the bill charged for the missing starter, asked for it be deducted. Paid and left. Not a great on Friday or weekend evening. Not kids friendly.

Easily my favourite restaurant and has been for over 20 years. Superb food that is delicious, filling, excellent value in a wonderful, vibrant atmosphere that is never overbearing despite the popularity of the place. The people who work there are so so warm and welcoming and make you feel special. Booking in advance is a very good idea as it’s always pretty much full. Bring your own wine but pay for the soft drinks. I cannot recommend this highly enough especially if you love Italian food

I decided to try this restaurant based on its good reviews while visiting Birmingham for the weekend from London. I was really looking forward to it, but unfortunately, it ended up being a disappointing experience. My partner and I ordered a bruschetta to start, followed by a pizza to share with fries. However, the waiter insisted that we had to order two main courses. At first, we thought we had misheard, so we repeated our order, but he insisted again. Confused, we asked to speak to the manager, who eventually allowed us to order what we wanted. It felt like they were trying to dictate what customers must order, which I’ve never encountered at any restaurant before. The service overall wasn’t great. Our drinks only arrived after our starter, and that was after we had to ask twice. When I requested ketchup and mayo, what we received looked like it had already been used by someone else, with the leftovers passed to us. The only positive was the bruschetta, which was nice, but that’s about it. Unfortunately, I will not return.

Great food. Their pastas are great. Service is slow. They take time to give the table and bring the bill which is understandable as they are busy. Atmosphere could be loud as it’s a small restaurant. If you love Italian food and don’t care about slow service and loud atmosphere, this might be a spot for you.

Another excellent meal from Ponte Di Legno. Table of 7 of us ate a load of seafood, pasta, risotto and calzone. Loads of food, loads of flavour and great friendly staff (who have been there for eons). Glad this place remains consistent and busy, even on a cold Wednesday night in February

The food was lovely and hot as usual. Garlic bread is too die for. Ordered too much as usual 🙄

Observation: Not for you if you're looking for a relaxing ambience. It is more bustling, quick moving cafe than restaurant. Positives: Food very good. Negatives: Staff manic, asked within 30 secs of sitting down if we were ready to order. When I asked for wine menu I was told they were not licensed and sternly told "we've been here 20 years" in other words, "you should have known". Not quite sure of the logic of that. As soon as we had finished one waiter lent across me almost knocking the dessert menu out of my hand, to clear the remaining tableware. Was tempted by a sweet until I saw the price of a piece of apple pie £8.50. Final straw for me was being given incorrect bill, £77 instead of £57. No doubt a symptom of the manic approach to the service. Incidentally this was a 6;30pm booking. Can't imagine what it would be like at 8pm on a Saturday. Won't be returning.

Exceptional authentic Italian food, my first visit blew me away, this hidden gem is really top tier. The food is just beyond tasty. Really deserve more branches across the country! They deserve 5 out 5 reviews on Google. Can't wait to come again!

Dined here with 3 others as a returning customer . Decided to try a different dish on the recommendation of a family member . Ordered prawns with shell off. It was very tasty but shells had been taken off and left in the food . I spoke to the waiter afterwards to advise him. He did seem surprised but no offer of apology. Just a bit disappointed that this was not acknowledged.

Very very poor service. Changed booking from 5.30pm and asked to be Booked for 6pm stated on the phone this was no problem. We arrived at 6 and not seated until 6.30pm. Did ask about this also and was told to wait. Did not receive mains until 7.28pm. Table for 12 arrived after us and received starters and mains immediately and have already finished eating by the time we received our food. Unable to call for any watering staff sat in the corner out of view and no waiters even asked or checked on us. Came for a friend’s birthday and extremely disappointed will not be returning.

We celebrated my friend's birthday last night. It was a great atmosphere, and they even provided candles on the cake and sang the birthday song for my friend.

This is THE go-to Italian spot, consistently 10/10 and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food is always great and I’ve tried most of the menu now.

I can't recommend enough! I have eaten here many times over the past 15, or so, years. Celebrating family birthdays, work nights, to girls night out and more. The atmosphere is casual authentic. Tables spread around a working kitchen. So you can see and smell your food being prepared for you. All food is freshly sourced. Meat from a local butcher, fresh seasonal vegetables and seafood from the market (they get up very early to secure the best seafood too) The waiters/servers are amazing and very attentive. Especially kind and accommodating to children. Plus the owners are there every night, which is nice to see, they talk to you too. It makes it more authentic. The food is 10/10. Amazing depth of flavours and such fresh produce. I haven't had a bad meal here. Everything is perfectly cooked and tastes out of this world. A hidden gem and would recommend booking before turning up. Like I said it's my hidden gem, so enjoy!!

First time visiting Ponte Di Legno and I was very impressed. Firstly, I must admit to not being a fan of Italian food, but this was an exception. Upon arrival I couldn’t believe how busy it was with a que forming from the inside and continuing outside which shows how popular this restaurant is. Luckily, I booked in advance and was seated very quickly. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming, the atmosphere was cosy and well laid out to accommodate many people on both sides of the restaurant. We were well looked after and didn’t feel forgotten at any point. The food here was amazing! I ordered the prawn starter and lamb shank for the main. As a lover of lamb, this was highly satisfying and the meat melts in your mouth. The gravy on top was also delicious. We also shared a range of breads which were all amazing in taste. Really pleased to have discovered Ponte Di Legno and would recommend anyone to try this place out, especially if you’re a fan of Italian food as it’s not likely to disappoint in my eyes with great quality food and preparation. Thank you to all the staff and I shall be returning in the future to sample more of the menu!

Este restaurante no tiene licencia, así que si quieres alcohol, tendrás que traer el tuyo. Hay una licencia justo al otro lado de la calle que ofrece una amplia selección. La comida llegó de manera oportuna y estaba caliente, bien presentado y decente tamaño de la porción. Todos estábamos muy contentos con nuestras comidas y servicio al cliente. La única queja fue que mi esposa dijo que no había jabón en el baño de mujeres.

Although the food at the time tasted nice, it resulted in me getting food poisoning. I ordered the pasta with mushrooms. The service was ok. Needed to repeat myself quite a few times to get the waiters attention. The place itself is lovely abs relaxing. I'm not sure I'd go again.

Absolutely fantastic experience. Walked in expecting to be turned away on a busy Friday night, but the staff made ready a table for two for us. The staff were very welcoming and made every effort to cater to our every need. All the food is halal and presented very well. Our seafood starters were flavourful and cooked perfectly, sometimes scallops can be difficult to perfect but these were perfect. The mains that followed again were top tier, lobster thermidor was prepared perfectly, and the lamb shank was melt in the mouth. For desserts, we will always prefer homemade, here only the tiramisu and crème brulé are made in house, but again the quality and flavours really worked well. Please do try their coffee also, always look for a thick crema on an espresso that lasts. Really enjoyed the evening, especially as the staff were so pleasant. Would not mind another visit soon to try more of the menu.

First time visit, and it certainly did not disappoint. The food was delicious and flavourful without it being too much. Staff were polite and had good interactions with customers, very quick service despite it being relatively busy. It's definitely worth a visit

I called this restaurant on Monday with proof on my phone that I had called. I went to the restaurant and informed the manager of my booking and unfortunately a colleague had mistakenly not written my name down despite my booking. I was then met with extremely rude and intolerant behaviour- saying “next time make sure you book” to which I responded with I did. Then I was given attitude back saying “yeah yeah whatever that’s what they all say.” This isn’t the type of customer service someone should have to experience when visiting a restaurant.

Recommended by a friend. My wife has told me that the food was mediocre based on her previous visit, but I decided to try anyway. Went with wife and friends. The food was okay in general but pricey. With the price, I will not recommend it. The seafood risotto was like eating sand and pieces of shell. The pasta dishes were okay at best.

Best halal italian restaurant in Birmingham by far

The food was exquisite and delicious. For starters we ordered a pizza dough which was thinly sliced and one half was covered with a pesto base whereas the other was covered with a tomatoe base with chili's. This I would recommend as it was covered with olive oil. The seafood pasta was adequate however the chicken and mushroom pasta was delicious saucy and creamy. The only thing I would ask is to add a little more flavour on the chicken. Finished of with an amazing pizza which looked absolutely delicious.

Tuve el mojito sin alcohol (6 . 85 ) que era básicamente una fresa triturada en limonada. Se veía horrible y tampoco sabía muy bien. El tiramasu era mediocre Dejé el lugar sintiéndome estafado. Sin embargo, el personal de servicio era realmente genial!

Went here with my wife. One of the best lasagnas I have had. Perfect texture, packed full of flavour, piping hot, lots of parm. Has a very unique chic decor, great service. They are 100% Halal.

Joke of a restaurant seated for 20 minutes and no one bothers to come and take the order or even greet you. If single patrons are so unwelcome maybe tell me to the door straight & not waste my time. They need to learn some customer service . Talking amongst themselves instead of actually serving the guest. If you're busy at least tell the guest you'll return in a minute or something. Hopeless! and also found out they entice ppl to leave them fake reviews stay away

This was such a mixed experience. I went around 6, already there was a queue that formed which was fine, myself and my friend weren’t in a rush and actually seeing a queue forming made us excited because a queue for a restaurant must mean there’s good food. We were then seated and noticed how busy the place was and it was really cramped but again, if you’ve been to these types of Italian places it wouldn’t put you off. However, once we made our order it took them an hour to give us our food, with a waiter shouting at another about our wait time when he realised everyone else who came after us got their food and not us. Again, mistakes happen so it’s fine but we duly noted this and instead went out for dessert rather than staying in as we didn’t want to wait another hour for food. The food, which I got the mixed seafood pasta was amazing honestly the best pasta I’ve ever had and I’ve had plenty. It was quite expensive at £20 but was well worth it. However, the loud atmosphere was too much for us, alongside the wait time and then we also got the wrong bill as he thought we had a starter rather than two drinks, I don’t think we will come back. If you’re planning on visiting, just make sure you take into account how loud the restaurant is and mentally prep for a long wait time and you’ll be fine, because the food genuinely was nice.

for someone who was born and raised in Italy and ate in Italy and know the flavors I think that was just a remake of Italian food I failed to find the authentic flavors of Italian food

They served us fast and got us seated quickly the food was savory and the atmosphere was delightful the food also is a good portion u recemend the pasta or pizza great fast in music.

Great food but bad service. We came here for a special occasion. There was a big group of us. From start to finish, the staff were passive aggressive, blunt and abrupt along with banging plates and glasses on the table. When asking for water they brought 3 glasses out with 1 jug. They got frustrated when asking for our order because after being seated for 10minutes and waiting for the rest of the group to arrive, we still weren’t ready. Myself and others were brushed when plates were being slammed on the table. Two of our group were deaf and no consideration towards them, more frustration if anything because of them asking the waiter to repeat stuff. At the end, they then asked why we wanted to remove the service charge!! A shame because the food was amazing but the service was shocking!!! Enough to put you off going there to be honest. Wouldn’t recommend.

Superb. I ordered the monkfish which tasted excellent.

Been eating at this place for years and the food never disappoints. We had sirloin steak with peppercorn sauce, salad with roast veggies, seafood pasta and tiramisu.

Overall ok but expected more. The place was loud and the servers had to squeeze between the tables and seemed pretty rushed. The portion sizes were surprisingly big and tasted alright; no complaints about the food quality but something was definitely missing and we've had much better at other places. I recommend the lobster ravioli though. Not too expensive either. They DON'T serve alcohol but they allow you to bring your own bottle to drink there and they provide the glasses which is nice.

Ordered a pizza 15 99 looked like an Iceland pizza for 1 75 it was tasteless when we complained the owner said if you don’t wanna pay your bill get out now avoid this place

Somewhat disappointed tbh, genuinely the most bland pizza I've ever had, was noticeably undercooked and with so little flavour, couldn't quite believe it! Nice restaurant, clearly very popular, so ai trust I was unlucky somehow (but it's pizza, in an Italian...) atmosphere was okay, noticed they have no speakers for background music though, but strange! Staff very good though!

The food was lovely but it was far too noisy. Couldn't hear yourself think and you were constantly shouting at your table guest to hear anything. Too many tables crammed in such a short space. I think they were trying to maximise the takings. The waiting staff were no good. Didn't ask if you wanted a drink or if you wanted to have a bottle opener to open your own drinks,which we inadvertently forgot to bring. We waited over 50 minutes for our main course which they didn't bring everything. We left after our main course and didn't stay for dessert. Definitely will not be going again. Only positive was the food was good

We had a special birthday to celebrate last evening, and the team accommodated us to ensure we were well looked after, in-which they executed amazingly. The staff made us feel at ease, service was impeccable and the food was absolutely divine. Thank you guys?!

The food here was amazing, the staff were generally very friendly and the atmosphere was nice and bustling (it did make the service a bit slow but think that's to be expected when it's that busy). The issue is that our night was unfortunately spoiled by an incident with one of the waiters. When he found out that I was there with my girlfriend, he 'jokingly' asked which of us was the man and who was the woman. This made us feel very uncomfortable and was incredibly insulting- please remind your staff that this kind of language is homophobic and really not ok to say.

Have just read the reviews which are very mixed I was really surprised to read the negative ones. Had no problem booking for 7.30pm on a Friday we arrived half an hour early and were greeted by a very friendly gentleman and were spoken too by a lovely happy waitress. We were seated on the right of the restaurant where there were mixed nationalities. The food was delicious we had starters my partner had prawns and avocado and I had scallops. The mains I had chicken in a sauce with asparagus and my partner had the halibut all full of flavour and cooked to perfection. What a change not to be overcharged for wine ...we took our own. Great meal we will be back

Food was good. Staff need training in how to talk to people without being rude. If I were only going on food I would be going back however service is a big part of the restaurant experience and with rude owner/manager I would rather take my custom elce where.

Attended here last night for an iftari meal with a few friends. Such a lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly and great service. Food was cooked to perfection and i would highly recommend this place as couldn’t fault the food. Fully halal menu too. Lovely little place in the heart of Moseley.

Came here last night for a friend’s birthday. It was a group of us although booked a few weeks ago, we couldn’t get a table till 9:30pm. We had a great time and the food was spot on! I had the Penne Salmone which I really enjoyed. The salmon was cooked perfectly as was the penne pasta. Good portion too. My friends enjoyed their food too. Staff were friendly and although it was a busy night we didn’t have to wait too long for our food. All in all a great night! Will definitely be returning here.
