The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Business lunch that always ends up a bit boozy. Great food (and wine) a good way to spend the afternoon

Mixto Estábamos siendo atendidos por 2 camareros, sin embargo, ninguno rompió una sonrisa. Mi hija adolescente me estaba tratando para el día de las madres con su salario. El tipo que nos saludó, estaba muy excitado con mis alergias, que era genial. Pedimos una botella de vino, pero no conseguimos copas de vino, sólo vasos para niños, ¿lo cual era raro? Las mesas son pequeñas y estábamos sentados al lado de una escalera a pesar de que el lugar ni siquiera estaba medio lleno. Pedí una pizza con stilton, papas asadas y cebollas. Sin asados, solo patatas en rodajas, sin cebollas y apenas stilton, también cobraban extra por la base de GF. Mi hija tenía una pizza con tocino, pero el tocino estaba mal cocinado, pero me dijeron que el resto era muy agradable. También la pimienta negra estaba vacía y tuvimos que cazar alrededor de las mesas para encontrar uno con pimienta en. Lo que realmente decepciona este lugar es el jazz, (no muy italiano). La música jazz es un gusto adquirido. Para mí es inductor de dolor de cabeza y me hace sentir agitado. No estoy solo en esto. ¡Para colmo, la factura venía con el temido cargo por servicio! Los cargos por servicio eran horas de trabajo para mi hija. ¡Sorprendentemente grosero! Le expliqué al camarero que no pagaríamos, pero encantado de darle una propina. Ella le dio 2 libras. Luego discutió con nosotros sobre los cargos por servicio diciendo que el cocinero con quien ni siquiera hablamos merecía propina. Expliqué la historia de los cambios en la ley de propina desde octubre de 2024 ect. Casi 10 horas de trabajo para mi hija para pagar la comida, algunas personas pueden permitirse comer fuera todo el tiempo, otras no. Para algunas personas, una comida fuera es tan buena como se pone. Es triste que la sensación especial de comer en un restaurante no estaba allí. Necesitan deshacerse de la horrible 'música' de di-s, desechar el cargo por servicio y emplear a personas que quieran hacer que la experiencia gastronómica sea especial. La pizza estaba bien, con cubiertos decentes, y chequeos en lo básico como molinos de pimienta completos, copas de vino adecuadas ect esto podría ser una verdadera joya. En cambio fue decepcionante

Food nothing special and massively overpriced 3 large prawns £12.50 in a watery tomato sauce, calls itself rustic. Service girls not very interested in serving and stuck on a table next to stairs very uncomfortable will not be back plenty of far better Italians in Leicester, very disappointed

A lovely small, intimate place to have a meal. That said, it's still child friendly :) Good service, delicious food. Lunch menu that's suitable for all budgets :)

Last week I was out for a walk and decided to have lunch at Ask Italian, I asked for a table and they said there was none because I hadn't booked in advance and I walked out quite disappointed. I decided to go to their website to check if everything was really booked and it actually turned out that I could book in 10 minutes - I was so angry why do I need to book online when I'm already there and they have a free space. I mean if I didn't have a phone with internet at that moment I wouldn't be able to have lunch, it's so ridiculous

Well meaning. We dropped in on our way back from something. It's a nice space, with a nice atmosphere and a nice menu. The staff are nice and well meaning but I don't think any of them have been trained. They try hard. Similarly, the person in the kitchen is an ok home cook but I don't think they have been trained and they certainly have never been to Italy. But, I enjoyed and ate all the food. When does Chicken, rice and peas become Risotto al Pollo? There were a few tables of people who were clearly regulars so it clearly works for some people.

I would definitely recommend this place to anyone

Do not take bookings if cannot fulfill spoilt a night out, felt the owner was condescending will not be booking again in a hurry

Carluccio's at the London Heathrow Marriott is one of the best restaurants near the airport. The food is always very well prepared, the team members in the restaurant are great and the service is very efficient. Special thanks to Letizia and Kala for making me welcome. I will be back.

Another very pleasant evening on Saturday the 5th of April. We had a table for 10 people and everyone enjoyed the evening. We've visited Salvtore's half a dozen times during the past 18 months having sadly overlooked this great family restaurant for other establishments. If you want fresh and tasty Italian food with an authentic flavor in a pleasant and clean place, pay them a visit. See you soon.

Booked a table for an early tea for my birthday. Staff were fab as was all four meals, could not fault anything, especially my birthday glass of prossecco, thank you matt and sue sawyer

We enjoyed our meal at this restaurant. Always friendly with a buzzy atmosphere and good Italian food. It hits the right spot every time

I booked a table of 30 for my daughters 16th surprise birthday meal and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, everyone loved the food and the service was just as good we adjusted our numbers several times and nothing was too much trouble. Will most definitely return thank you
