Amazing food as always. 3 of us had pizza, 1 had the calves liver and one had seafood pasta. Everyone commented on how good their meal was. Service was also good and not intrusive. Desserts that followed were also top class, including the non-mass produced tiramisu. Polished off with some good teas and coffees. Overall a great experience. It's not the cheapest place I've ever been to, but given the choice and quality, added with the great service, I think that makes it good value. Would recommend to anyone, not just italian officianados

Popped in this lunchtime. Never been before, but heard a lot of good things about it. We had a pizza each, olives and mixed salad. The food was superb. Best pizza I've ever had. Nice atmosphere and service too. Highly recommended 👌

been here many times and the food is amazing, lovely familial feel and amazing service a bit on the loud side by still great. the portions are well for the money and lots of vegetarian options. definitely recommend!!

Can be noisy but that's not a problem for many people. Great staff and proper portions of proper Italian food.

My family and I have been coming here for years. Yeah it's old fashioned, yes it is noisy and lively, and anyone under the age of 30 won't recognise anyone on the pictures, but the food is always great and the staff are brilliant. Italians both work and eat here so you know it's good and compared to the chain Italian restaurants, it's by far better value.

We’re in the L’artista few times and it’s amazing! Very welcoming and good atmosphere. Pasta is delicious especially gnocchi with 4 cheeses. Always busy inside. Good choice for a meal in Letchworth high recommendation 🤩

A lovely Italian restaurant in Lechtworth Garden City. The food is great snd the service is excellent. I have been twice. Worth going to enjoy Italian food.

Over the years I have been on so many romantic dinner dates, dinners with friends and dinners to celebrate with my family at this restaurant. I love it. Always great food, great wine and wonderful service. I've seen so many different people filling up the tables and all enjoying it. At lunchtime it is pretty easy to find a spot to nab some food, but at dinnertime I would reccomend calling for a reservation. The attached photo was just from my last time there, but I've had an array of the menu items (Ravioli, Seafood risotto, Carbonara, Pizzas, Linguine, Lasagna) and am yet to be disappointed.

The only Italian restaurant i eat at now. Lovely fresh food. In my opinion Italian food done right, simple but perfectly balanced flavours and certainly not bland. Service can be a little slow or impersonal however, it is so busy because of the quality it is to be expected and the staff are working extremely hard. Overall a brilliant experience.

We always travel to here from stevenage, we had a table for 10 for a birthday celebration. Every body was blown away with the quality and portions. Always book as can get very busy for a reason. Garlic tomato bread is a must have

Authentic food. If you like loud & buzzy this is the place for you. There's a service charge, but smiles are not included. My son loves the food but agrees. Post payment, he (myself included) hates being repeatedly asked by the lady waitress "Have you paid ? Have you ? Have you ? have you paid" ? !!! She leaves one feeling regret over paying the service charge ! Ruining what little enjoyment one had ! Leaving one feeling a little deflated & disappointed & almost criminal ! Shame !

Lovely place and great service. Sadly the food was very poor. I had the carbonara, something I regularly cook at home, albeit without cream and with pancetta rather than bacon, and I can’t work out how they managed to make it taste so bland. The bacon also didn’t taste great, which is quite a feat for bacon! My wife had the lasagne which was okay at best. The zucchini was good at least. Maybe the chef had an off day.

This is such a great place and very much like so many top restaurants in Italy. The food is excellent, the choice is extensive, the portions are generous and it's very reasonably priced. You should book in advance as the place is always really busy and has a really excellent buzzy atmosphere. The staff are extremely attentive and courteous too. Easily the best place to eat in Letchworth and the surrounding area.

(Out-of-towner) The 5-star reports surprise me. Pasta without much sauce; meaty sauce sans meat. Salad without dressing. It all seemed like an attempt to save money. Venue seemed ok, service prompt, parking ok.

Awesome kitchen, excellent portions, amazingly effective service. We had to wait a few minutes to be seated, but I can see why they're popular!

Regarding food in my opinion it tastes less, portions are big but more taste would be 5⭐ The atmosphere is very busy at the time and noisy but this is something that you expect from a busy place like this. Service and communication were only 1 ⭐ we were very disappointed at first because of the lack of communication , miss information was given at the beginning when booking a table and specify our request. In reply we were notified that the restaurant is not allowing customers to bring their own cakes anymore because something happened. Fair enough when we celebrate our friend's birthday we couldn't believe what we 🙈 see!!!! Magically cakes are allowed. Immediately we questioned staff and asked for a manager, the person who serves our table it wasn't only the one app way though someone else was serving our table. When a person approached us most importantly didn't introduce himself and with lack of manners replied I am the manager, no name, no badge with the name,when we explained the situation he said rules just changed and go back to normal customers can bring the cake again, our reaction was priceless 🤬 Also are very interesting that manager was working in the floor as a table service???In a day from the booking rules changed miracle!!! Generally only one staff member was nice and helpful and the rest didn't show any positive customer skills!!! Shame because this could be a place worth coming back, unfortunately we would not be coming back soon. Disappointed customer

Still great to go to after 14 years. Always busy even on a Monday or Tuesday. Portions are very large and I love the pizzas and the saltimbocca is to die for

Tried to get a table on a Saturday evening with some friends, staff were ignoring us despite it being obvious we were waiting. Then a family pushed in front of us and tried to cut the line to ask for a table (they somehow knew the waiter as they were talking in Italian) and despite us saying that we were there first, the waiter told us we had to wait 30 mins and proceeded to seat the family. Won't be going again. I went to Alloro and the service was MUCH better.

Great food, good value and big portions. The noise is terrible though, they really need a bit of sound damping on the ceiling as it's such a loud, echoey space.

Amazing food and great value for money! A little bit loud though so can often be hard to have a conversation across the table. But the staff are lovely and it's a great family run restaurant. Also the homemade tiramisu is a must!

We eat at L’artista every time we visit my mother. They always greet us warmly and serve hot fresh tasty food. I highly recommend the Lamb chops and any of the Pizza’s. Grazie per aver trattato mia madre cosi bene.

Authentic and rustic Italian food. Pizza, pasta and a wide selection of sea food. It’s been there years and it’s great food. Hearty. It’s not fine dining but it’s great for family lunch and dinners. The staff are friendly and service great. The food is really good. I don’t think I’ve ever had a bad dish here. I had the lasagne today but I’ve had the prawns in the past which were also excellent. My friends say the meatballs are amazing and I tried my first one today. We also had the burrata and spaghetti Bol. Everyone was happy with their choices. I will go again

Loved the pizza and service was efficient and knew their business! The only down side was the noise, it’s definitely a family place with tons of kids and only smoking outside area so couldn’t get away. Pizza was so good we will be back!

This is an authentic Italian restaurant. The food is absolutely excellent, all the ingredients are fresh. The staff is polite with the customers. The atmosphere is great and once you get inside you feel like you are in Italy because the decor takes you there with all the emblematic monuments from Italy such as the Pisa Tower.

Very decent Italian restaurant. The pizza is quite nice even if it's an electric hoven. Also all the other dishes seems nice. It's reasonably priced and authentic. Definitely recommend. The only bad thing is the noise, maybe some phone absorption material could help?

Visiting area on business so had a few possibilities based on Internet reviews. Saw this place was busy on a rainy Tuesday evening so always a good sign, so went in. Good food and service, would go back. 👍🏻

Having been coming here since it opened 20 yrs ago - I'm afraid it's gone downhill. Very disappointed the prices have increased and the sizes have got much smaller , my pizza was tasteless and strunk in size- see photo Staff not friendly at all . What's Happened ????? Very sad . .....

Nice staff & great food, taste & portion size.

We visit towns most weekends and popped in to this very busy restaurant, just for a quick bite to eat. We had soup and paste dishes which had loads of flavour, the staff were great and such a buzz with families and couples. Full range of Italian food on offer and well priced. We would visit again if in the area.

Eaten here many times and the food is always great. Shout out to Lewis that went above and beyond to sort an uber eats complication nothing to do with the restaurant.

The food here is simply excellent/delicious and served piping hot ..... why is that so difficult in other establishments? Good choice of wines. The service is attentive without being mithering. Pricing is fair. Eating out in new venues can be a lottery but L'Artista is one of our "fall backs" for those times youre not willing to risk being disappointed. A stalwart of ours that never disappoints.

At L'Artista one feels as if you walked in a restaurant in Italy. It has that special family feeling one gets if in Italy. The cuisine is authenticly Italian. In the years my family have been going there, food quality and service, is second to none.

Went here with husband for valentines day lunch. Food was hot delicious and plenty full! No room for desert but came home with leftovers! Service was great and staff very friendly. Will hopefully go again.

The starter Calamari Luciana is the best in the world! The only problem is that it's too much. But it was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it. I couldn't eat the main dish. The waiter was kind and willing to take it home. One of the best Italian restaurants in the UK.I can't say it out loud, but the common racism is ZERO! It’s really comfortable! ️

This place is manic and very popular. My grandson booked this Italian for a family catch-up and its a good job he did, because the place was packed and queues out the door (dinners and take-away collections). When my grandson booked, he was informed we only had a 1.5-hour window and this was evident on arrival, as the place was packed and table turnover was high and fast. The food was lovely and everyone enjoyed their meals but there is little time for engagement with the staff because they are so busy. I didn't give it 5* because of the little engagement from the staff (too busy) and our grandson's main came out when we were having our starters. But we would come back again.

Fast becoming a favourite restaurant in the area. Having visited three times, I can say the pasta, pizza and calzone are all incredible. You will struggle to find food as delicious at such a reasonable price. The place is always packed and has a great atmosphere, with lots going on.

Busy restaurant good Italian food big portions

Food good, although hard to cut middle of the pizza as softer than crispy outer edge. Atmosphere good but music level was suddenly increased making it a bit hard to have a conversation.. overall I would recommend & glad to see hospitality thriving again.

They want to do 30 deliveries before they get to your door so it ends up ice cold and disgusting. I got harassed by the driver too, 0 stars all round from me.

VERY NOISY especially in the evening. So much so that you really have concerns about the staffs' hearing. Impossible to hear someone over the table.

I’ve not been able to afford my fav Americano Calzone for a while. absolutely lovely tonight, and even better, my granddaughter Tiger and her amazing partner Tristan were sat near the kitchen, they live your food on a regular basis. ❤️❤️❤️

Some great dishes, and the portions are huge. Can't comment on most of the menu as we didn't eat everything! But the friendly service was the best element of a very good experience.

How disappointing. We have been coming to this restaurant for years however tonight we ate frozen calamari which used to be far superior to what we were served. I had veal escalope which was newspaper thin, whilst my mum was presented with a mass produced portion of frozen lasagne. My husband and mother in law were presented with minute lamb chops that would have left a child hungry. I know we are in a cost of living crisis but these cutbacks are a disgrace. We will never go back!

We went here tonight from going to see the pantomine. The food was great, lots of people there, full of families, lots of children, all enjoying themselves. I had the Lasagne, which was excellent. Good thing we booked otherwise we wouldn't of got in.

Best Italian food I've had outside of Italy

I have been to L'Artista many times, and they never disappoint. Great staff and great atmosphere. I would rate them 5 stars every time.
