Best pasta & pizza ! Service is brilliant 👏

Incredible pizza with buffalo mozzarella 😍 such delicious food, huge portions and great value for money. You may need to book ahead as I think we were lucky to get a table even on the Tuesday night! 10/10

We first blew in to this place early last year and congratulated ourselves on making a lucky find. Letchworth isn't on our doorstep so it's taken us until now to go back and it was every bit as good as we remembered. The food is trad Italian, good ingredients and really well cooked. We had a range of dishes and everyone was very happy with their lunch. The service is fantastic, properly efficient but friendly and unhurried. Also excellent value, five mains, five desserts and plenty of drinks for under £30 a head is a bargain. If I could ask for one change it would be to put coffee ice-cream on the menu but, that aside, outstanding.

Food is good but the waiters are so unbelievably rude and arrogant. Anyone would think we eat there for free, the way they treat customers.

Don’t understand the rave reviews at all. We ordered via uber eats. The “stir fried broccoli” was boiled mushy like grandma makes it and so salty it was inedible. The cauliflower cheese was runny and flavourless. The pizzas were mediocre. £40 on a takeway that could have been better spent.

We are regulars at L'artista in Letchworth and seriously can't get enough of the place. The food is absolutely fantastic (though they do make carbonara the English way, with cream in it 🤦‍♂️) The service is second to none and there is always a brilliant atmosphere. Today we went as a group of six, with my 14 and 8 year old kids. My daughter (8) spent the whole meal engrossed in watching the chef hand make pizzas. At the end of tge meal the staff were so appreciative of her interest that they brought over a ball of dough, flour, tomato paste and cheese and allowed her to make her own pizza right at the table! They then cooked it, boxed it and gave it to her to bring home, at no extra cost. If I could rate these guys 6 out of 5 for customer service I really would. Thank you gents, and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

The best restaurant in Letchworth and best Italian restaurant in the local area I’d say! We’ve been dining at L’Artista since it’s been open and always have a fantastic time. The food is brilliant and the atmosphere so lively. We will continue to return as we always do.

Went today with my wife for the first time after getting recommendations from several people. What a lovely authentic Italian restaurant, as soon as you walk in the aroma of the dishes wafts through the air. The staff are all very attentive and we could not fault the service. The food did not disappoint from the Tiger Prawn and Bruschetta starter to the grilled liver with a tasty complementing sauce. Ending the evening(apologies for not using the Italian spelling for each dish)with the tastiest Tiramisu homemade dessert. Definitely will visit again. Thank you

We returned to the wonderful Lartista on Saturday 8th April 2025 6pm with family and as usual had the best time. The atmosphere, food, service & wine were excellent as they always are....we visit this restaurant fairly regularly and are never disappointed! The staff work incredibly hard to make this such an amazing experience 👏 and you just can't beat the portions and amazing quality of such authentic Italian food. Thank you team your all amazing... We’ve been coming to this restaurant over the years for family meals and celebrations Daniel and the whole team were very attentive. The food and drink was excellent as always and a great night was had by all!!!! I tried to use a plug to simply to charge my phone, however the people who were on the table nearest the plug were very high and mighty, as well as extremely rude, bleating about me ‘invading their space.’How incredibly insensitive those diners were- ‘get a life’!!!! I wasn’t about to let them ruin my night, though. !!!!!!! 🎂🎁🥳🎊🎈😁😁😁😁😁😁🤩🤩

One of my favourite restaurants

We were here for an 85th birthday. It was very nice and everyone was happy at the end. We sat nicely and were well served. The waitresses were not very taciturn but friendly and attentive. We had different dishes, especially pizza and pasta. Everyone in the group was happy with their meal. Personally, I can say that the lasagne and tiramisu were very tasty. Thank you for a nice Sunday lunch.

Rubbish! Ordered two pizzas over the phone and was told to come pick up at 7:15pm. Turned up at 7:15pm and pizza was not ready, hadn’t even been prepared - they forgot about it! Was standing there for 25 mins in the restaurant after being told to wait, not one waiter asked if we were okay they just walked past us. Finally when the pizza arrived, they didn’t even say sorry or offer us a drink or anything to compensate their incompetence! Rude and disappointing.

I’ve been going to Italy for about 15 years and this is the closest thing I’ve found to the real Italian food in England yet. Soo good.

Brilliant food, brilliant portions… terrible service. Left waiting for 15 minutes at the door despite having pre booked a table. It was busy, but my lord it was bad! Saying that, excellent food, which I guess is the point in going anyway!

Just visited for the first time, following several recommendations. Wasn't disappointed. Beautiful, tasty, hot main course of spaghetti and meatballs and a sensational tiramisu ! Good service and an excellent atmosphere

Tried the calamari, focaccia, and pesto pasta at L'Artista. The calamari was slightly overcooked, making it a bit chewy, though the seasoning was well-balanced. The focaccia was light and fluffy, but it could have used a touch more olive oil and herbs for flavour. The pesto pasta had a fresh, vibrant taste, but the portion was on the smaller side. A decent meal overall, but not particularly memorable.

What a great find! Very welcoming atmosphere and quick service despite being full. The food is authentic, home cooked italian cuisine. The portions are big, so would recommended asking for half portions, which are substantial.

Very disappointed with my chicken risotto. I have eaten here before as well as Watford. This time I took it home with a garlic pizza bread which was lovely. The risotto was dreadful. Tasteless. Just rice in a creamy sauce and a little chicken. No seasoning. Sorry, as I much prefer praising you but this was really poor

I have visited L'Artista on numerous occasions, and they never disappoint! I came just as they opened today, so my food was made and delivered super fast. My Calzone was fresh out the oven, and tasted absolutely amazing! I highly recommend visiting L'Artista if you get the chance

Lovely atmosphere and very efficient , friendly and professional staff. To be honest, the pasta portions were too big and we couldn’t finish but waiter told us that next time, we could ask for half a portion. My only reservation was the seating .. close proximity to a chiller and bright light projecting from it on my friend’s face - chairs not terribly comfortable . I have Italian heritage and I can confidently say that the flavours and content were authentic . I shall visit again and highly recommend I’Artista.

Lovely restaurant, food and service was amazing.

First visit after hearing good things about it. Was not disappointed. The fact that it was full on a cold, rainy Tuesday night in early January, when all the other restaurants nearby were empty shows how good the food and service was. All food was lovely, large portions and served piping hot.

Food is good. Freshly made, good ingredients. Service is hit and miss, sometimes you have the happy waiting staff who would get 5 stars and then then you get the grumpy ones or the ones who seem a little arrogant. Atmosphere is always loud, the sound of the other diners seem to travel a lot. Some people prefer the noise but I wouldn't go here if you want a quiet meal.

Party of 8, the food was great, the service was amazing, I would recommend this place and hope to come back some time

Had lunch here on the 28th December with my family. Have to say I was incredibly impressed. The pizza and pastas dishes were amazing and they accommodated my young son who wanted plain pasta. I would also like to add the service was outstanding and the waiters were really friendly and engaging. Will be visiting again for sure.

On the plus side: Not much more to add from my previous glowing review!, except to say the food quality might even have got BETTER since last time AND the portion sizes remain EXTREMELY generous (some of the starters are bigger than the main courses in other restaurants we've been to!). Interior is still bright & cheerful (along with the staff!). On the minus side: it's still quite expensive to eat out here, but to be fair, EVERYWHERE is getting ridiculously expensive these days! But as the food is SO good & you never leave feeling hungry, it still represents pretty good VFM! It's a shame they don't offer discounted prices for off-peak time eating like some other restaurants do, but that's just a suggestion as we'd probably go more often on discounted days. As it is we can now only afford to eat out on special occasions, but we'd rather celebrate in L'Artista cos we LOVE it so much! Update (Dec 2024): Well, the food hasn't changed (which is a good thing, cos it's AMAZINGLY GOOD!) & the portions are still on the generous side (I've yet to be that hungry that I could eat 3 courses!), but as EVERYWHERE is so unbelievably expensive these days L'Artista is now reasonably priced! So don't hesitate, cos you won't be disappointed! (oh, & did I forget to mention they LOVE children at L'Artista - but no surprise there as they're Italian owned, run & staffed!) 😎

Enjoyed the food and it was a really reasonable price. Although, contrary to other reviews, I thought my portion of Lasagna was quite small. Service was cold and I felt like we were being rushed throughout. Really busy restaurant on a Saturday night, I expected it to be a bit noisy but I've never eaten somewhere before where my watch has flagged that exposure to such audio levels could be bad for my health! Also was not a fan of the obnoxiously loud birthday music which we heard 5 times in 2 hours which really killed the atmosphere.

Very bad behaviour with rider even they didn't listen to the rider order number and no one gave any response, and making fun of rider one of the staff member of la' artista, really unexpected behaviour, I cancelled around 5 to 6 orders of this restaurant bcz of their good service

Really lovely people serving great food. Saltimbocca was super tasty. Sauté potatoes the nicest I've had for ages. Portions very generous, so be prepared to take some home with you. Proper espresso machine completes the deal for me. Fantastic! (Dim the lighting a bit for the fifth star on 'atmosphere')

We popped in midweek about 6 pm on the off chance. They could only offer a table if we were willing to leave by 7.30 pm as they had a booking for then. The place was buzzing with couples, families, friends, etc. We have been before and have always found the food, service and atmosphere excellent and would highly recommend for an enjoyable and relaxing meal.

Amazing food as always. 3 of us had pizza, 1 had the calves liver and one had seafood pasta. Everyone commented on how good their meal was. Service was also good and not intrusive. Desserts that followed were also top class, including the non-mass produced tiramisu. Polished off with some good teas and coffees. Overall a great experience. It's not the cheapest place I've ever been to, but given the choice and quality, added with the great service, I think that makes it good value. Would recommend to anyone, not just italian officianados

Popped in this lunchtime. Never been before, but heard a lot of good things about it. We had a pizza each, olives and mixed salad. The food was superb. Best pizza I've ever had. Nice atmosphere and service too. Highly recommended 👌

My family and I have been coming here for years. Yeah it's old fashioned, yes it is noisy and lively, and anyone under the age of 30 won't recognise anyone on the pictures, but the food is always great and the staff are brilliant. Italians both work and eat here so you know it's good and compared to the chain Italian restaurants, it's by far better value.

Brilliant meal, didn't expect it to be so good,

Over the years I have been on so many romantic dinner dates, dinners with friends and dinners to celebrate with my family at this restaurant. I love it. Always great food, great wine and wonderful service. I've seen so many different people filling up the tables and all enjoying it. At lunchtime it is pretty easy to find a spot to nab some food, but at dinnertime I would reccomend calling for a reservation. The attached photo was just from my last time there, but I've had an array of the menu items (Ravioli, Seafood risotto, Carbonara, Pizzas, Linguine, Lasagna) and am yet to be disappointed.

The only Italian restaurant i eat at now. Lovely fresh food. In my opinion Italian food done right, simple but perfectly balanced flavours and certainly not bland. Service can be a little slow or impersonal however, it is so busy because of the quality it is to be expected and the staff are working extremely hard. Overall a brilliant experience.

We always travel to here from stevenage, we had a table for 10 for a birthday celebration. Every body was blown away with the quality and portions. Always book as can get very busy for a reason. Garlic tomato bread is a must have

Authentic food. If you like loud & buzzy this is the place for you. There's a service charge, but smiles are not included. My son loves the food but agrees. Post payment, he (myself included) hates being repeatedly asked by the lady waitress "Have you paid ? Have you ? Have you ? have you paid" ? !!! She leaves one feeling regret over paying the service charge ! Ruining what little enjoyment one had ! Leaving one feeling a little deflated & disappointed & almost criminal ! Shame !

Lovely place and great service. Sadly the food was very poor. I had the carbonara, something I regularly cook at home, albeit without cream and with pancetta rather than bacon, and I can’t work out how they managed to make it taste so bland. The bacon also didn’t taste great, which is quite a feat for bacon! My wife had the lasagne which was okay at best. The zucchini was good at least. Maybe the chef had an off day.

Recently had a delivery to Stevenage, superb service, the food was totally amazing! And huge portions! Reminded me of home cooked “ proper” food! ❤️

This is such a great place and very much like so many top restaurants in Italy. The food is excellent, the choice is extensive, the portions are generous and it's very reasonably priced. You should book in advance as the place is always really busy and has a really excellent buzzy atmosphere. The staff are extremely attentive and courteous too. Easily the best place to eat in Letchworth and the surrounding area.

(Out-of-towner) The 5-star reports surprise me. Pasta without much sauce; meaty sauce sans meat. Salad without dressing. It all seemed like an attempt to save money. Venue seemed ok, service prompt, parking ok.

Outstanding customer service. Waiter was really helpful and even offered to cut my food for me as I am unable to do this myself. Very much appreciated and not expected!!

Regarding food in my opinion it tastes less, portions are big but more taste would be 5⭐ The atmosphere is very busy at the time and noisy but this is something that you expect from a busy place like this. Service and communication were only 1 ⭐ we were very disappointed at first because of the lack of communication , miss information was given at the beginning when booking a table and specify our request. In reply we were notified that the restaurant is not allowing customers to bring their own cakes anymore because something happened. Fair enough when we celebrate our friend's birthday we couldn't believe what we 🙈 see!!!! Magically cakes are allowed. Immediately we questioned staff and asked for a manager, the person who serves our table it wasn't only the one app way though someone else was serving our table. When a person approached us most importantly didn't introduce himself and with lack of manners replied I am the manager, no name, no badge with the name,when we explained the situation he said rules just changed and go back to normal customers can bring the cake again, our reaction was priceless 🤬 Also are very interesting that manager was working in the floor as a table service???In a day from the booking rules changed miracle!!! Generally only one staff member was nice and helpful and the rest didn't show any positive customer skills!!! Shame because this could be a place worth coming back, unfortunately we would not be coming back soon. Disappointed customer

Still great to go to after 14 years. Always busy even on a Monday or Tuesday. Portions are very large and I love the pizzas and the saltimbocca is to die for
