We had a lovely meal today at Zizzi Hitchin. The staff were really nice, helpful and friendly. The food was lovely and whole atmosphere was really nice, very nice food. We had pasta meatball dishes and Herb pork. Overall good place and lovely interior.

As usual had a great meal here yesterday. It was my husband's birthday and I'd called ahead to ask if I could bring a cake and if they could bring it out to him after our meal - they were very accommodating which was great (especially as we always order dessert but didn't as we had the cake instead!). The service was great, food was fantastic and all in all I couldn't fault it. Hope to be back again soon!

it was my granddaughters 14 th birthday we went to zizzis to celebrate, Really enjoyed it, Good food ,selection to suit all ages ,will be returning.

I expect to have a good meal and a lovely time when I go to Zizzi and tonight was no exception. We were seated promptly and given ample (maybe too much) time to review the menu. We both went for the set menu which offers a lot of variety. The food was yummy and served at a leisurely pace. The dessert was a stand out. George was very hospitable and made our experience enjoyable. I would eat here again.

George greeted us warmly, setting a welcoming tone for our experience. Ordering food through the app was seamless, which added to our dining experience. All the food was delicious. Would recommend Zizzi Hitchin for those looking for a wonderful Italian meal.

Me and my boyfriend went into Zizzis for valentines and we had an amazing time. The food was absolutely lovely and the staff were very attentive, especially our waiter George and the guy who grated our cheese (didn’t catch a name). We both understand how stressful and overwhelming it can be working in a busy hospitality setting and the whole staff absolutely smashed it giving us one of the best dates we have ever been on so well done! :)) George also went above and beyond for us that evening as we were short on time and wanted to dessert we spoke with him and said we needed to be somewhere in 30 minutes. In the end because of him we had a beautiful dessert and paid in under 15 minutes which we are very grateful for so thank you!

I love the food at Zizzi! Everything on their menu is amazing 🤤 My favourites are their Grande antipasti, Rustica primavera(I add prosciutto and extra goat cheese) yum! OR their pasta carbonara, I mean I could just go on and on! The service is excellent, very polite and quick

We went for our staff Christmas meal. It was draughty, cramped and the fixed menu was curtailing. Zizzi have so much more to offer than this usually. A rubbish experience all round. Would have rather have gone to Pizza Express, which we did the year before and they were amazing. Parking is terrible too.

We had dinner on New Year's Eve. Food was delicious, service excellent and staff all great!

We recently visited this restaurant as a family of two young ones and I was so impressed. On first arriving we mentioned my husband had a nut allergy and the manager immediately provided a seperate menu so it was completely clear what we could select from. The manager was incredibly helpful and lovely with our kids, putting them at ease and being more than happy to accommodate the requests we had on their food. We haven’t been to a Zizzi in a while and I was so impressed with the menu updates. The food was so fresh, tasty and lots more variety than previously. They even boxed up our leftovers for the kids and offered another meal when my daughter was a little funny about what she herself had picked. They made us feel so welcome and we didn’t have to wait for anything. My son said at end we wants to have dinner there everyday - if we lived more locally we would most certainly be making it a regular. They couldn’t have known but we visited on a difficult day for our family and it was so refreshing to experience such expceptional service, delicious food and above all friendliness.

Spent a nice afternoon/evening celebrating with family.

We ate here recently on a visit to Hitchin. We were greeted warmly by Lilia and Charlotte and given a choice of tables. Once settled we ordered our drinks which were delivered promptly and was given plenty of time to study the menu. We ordered garlic bread and chicken spiedini for starters. Both lovely but the spiedini in particular was delicious. We followed this with sea bass and pollo piccante, again fantastic flavours and extremely well cooked. We finished off a truly lovely meal with coffee. My thanks to Emma for being so friendly and attentive and to Stelica, Andy and Angali for cooking our food. I highly recommend Zizzi Hitchin and we will definitely be back.

Really wanted to like this place but the food was average and the service was dreadfully slow (think they were short staffed on the day..) although the cheesecake was superb but couldn't save it from being a disappointing experience...

Went in for a late lunch around 13:30 with some family. It was quiet but had a nice relaxed and friendly atmosphere, nothing was too much trouble. George is a fantastic host, friendly, knowledgeable and had a great rapport with his customers. I had a NewRustica Fable Shiitake 'Shroom pizza and can honestly say it's the best pizza I've had for years. I would certainly recommend without hesitation and next time I'm in Hitchin I'll be going back. Thanks 👍

The food was amazing, nice and quiet and the service was top-tier.

Another lovely meal at the Hitchin restaurant. Staff were all very attentive. We didn't feel at all rushed and enjoyed three courses including recommendations from the waiting staff. Will definitely visit again. A lovely way to celebrate a birthday 🎂

Had a coughing fit literally 5 seconds after being asked what I wanted to drink. Tried to gesticulate that I needed water but was forced to run to the tap in the loo. To be fair not all the staff were poor, one chap was excellent but overall a bit slow and no common sense when clearly needed. Food is mediocre at best. £3.5 for a tiny coke light. Went back with a voucher and OmG ! I have eaten in Michelin star restaurants for not much more. Its a pizza !!! Flour and cheese !!!!!! The pork belly is dry and not much bigger than a slice of bacon at a greasy spoon.

Tiny portions, the food was cold and soggy and definitely cannot justify the prices. The loaded fries were literally 10 fries and some beef on top. The large fries was like a small portion in any other restaurant and the pasta with prosciutto was basically cold pasta with a piece of prosciutto tossed on top for 16 quid. Cannot believe how bad this was, extremely disappointing. And on top of that, deliveroo didn’t give us a refund. Appalling

Came here for dinner with a mate tonight and was a really good experience and glad we came The staff were all bubbly and happy and glad to answer any questions and also a good laugh Lillia was amazing and helped in any way that she could , glad to see that there is good waitresses still out there that focus on there customers The food was also scrumptious and would deffintly visit again

Food wasn’t of good quality most uncomfortable seats chicken in breadcrumbs was a frozen greasy thing with frozen chips that had lots of dark scabby bits I am all for rustic but these were very poor quality weird frozen carrots the starter was okay but for £60 overpriced and really disappointing staff were nice enough but only one serving

Got a delivery. One of the lowest quality takeaway I’ve ever had. Chewy pizza with virtually nothing on top and sloppy frozen chips in a tiny portion. Much better options elsewhere.

Me and my partner went for lunch one Sunday, the service was quick and friendly apart from one lad who passed us the dessert menu and just seemed to mumble when he spoke about a dessert wasn't available. The food was tasty fresh and hot

Good vegan options, vegan cheese is delicious, reasonably priced.

I love Zizzis restaurant as they serve really good food at decent prices. Because they cook from scratch, it's usually possible to have things taken out or swapped with meals, which is great if you have an intolerance or dislike of certain foods. My husband, daughter, and I all have food intolerances, I have loads of things that I can't eat, but for the rest of my family, it's dairy intolerance. Every time I've been to a zizzis, they have been able to omit certain ingredients and swap for something else. We went to Hitchin Zizzis on Father's Day (2023). We actually walked in off the street but there was a table available, they did say that we'd need to be gone by a certain time but there was no pressure or hassling us to get us to go which was good of them. I had the zuca salad with an added chicken skewer, which I had the goats cheese taken out, and they agreed to add olives in its place. I don't know if it's supposed to be (I'm sure in the past I've had it warm), but the courgette slices were cold and un cooked. The chicken skewer was also not very hot. It was just warm. But it all tasted delicious and I didn't complain as it wasn't a problem, I just expected it to be hotter. Of anything with a 3 year old, it worked out better, as we could get eating straight away!. The portion size was really good, and it was presented beautifully. My daughter ate off the kids' menu, and the portions were really good. The only thing that might be an issue is the drink woth the menu was served in a cup. Luckily, my little didn't spills, but we had to keep checking on her with it as we had been expecting a bottle (like a fruit shoot). We had the vegan zillionaire's cake, and oh my word, it was amazing. It was so good. it's well worth a try end if you're not vegan. Service was a little slow, but it was getting busy by the minute, and it was fathers Day, so lots of people were eating out. All the staff were really friendly and helpful and it was just a really good experience. We've been to this zizzis a few times, and we've always enjoyed the food and had a good experience. I highly recommend this place, I've always had a good experience in all the zizzis I've been to, but this is our current local one and it's our favourite place to eat.

Lovely food, good portion sizes. Was tucked round a corner with not a lot of space which wasn’t great. Drinks were expensive but otherwise great.

Loved the choice and flair of the food

We haven’t been to this branch of Zizzi for a couple of years, but really liked it last time, si today we visited again. Our welcome was very friendly and our serving staff were superb - warm, helpful and made us feel valued. The food was exceptional. The Prawn and Chicken Spiedinas looked great and tasted incredible. I had the prawn one and it was so tasty, whilst not being too filling. For main I had the sticky pig pizza and my wife had the salmon and prawn pasta. Top marks from both of us - just so damn tasty and great portion size. We shared the lemon drizzle cheesecake for desert, which with a dark chocolate biscuit base was the perfect palate cleanser. The decor is great, the atmosphere is relaxing and feels almost like being on holiday. The loos were clean and had great smelling lemon hand soap and moisturiser. Excellent food, well maintained venue and brilliant staff - what more could anyone want? Our visit was Saturday 10th June at midday - those staff members are a credit to Zizzi.

Ordered take away from Hitchin. The calzone was way undercooked, the dough was soft and squidgy and should have been crispy. This should not affect it being delivered it should have been cooked before it left the restaurant!! This is our second time of ordering and everything is always under cooked🤮 we won’t be trying a third time.

Myself and partner came for dinner yesterday evening and I have to say what an amazing time we had, it was so busy and didn't expect much due to the fact that it really was so busy, we thought service would be slow and the attention to detail would be overlooked, however our server, Bradley was on point with everything, courteous, friendly, extremely professional and worked above and beyond to ensure our visit was a really enjoyable one. Hats off to him, especially with how chaotic it was as other servers almost seemed out of the depths. The food was so tasty and we really are looking forward to returning very soon.

I just wanted to give my appreciation to the great Hitchin team, especially Stelica. I think he goes above and beyond ensuring the customers feel wonderful enjoying their dinners. Since he joined the team,we use to come more often as we always feel welcomed here. I'm also impressed by the constant quality of the food - in other restaurants it could go down sometime, however here it's always keeping high standards. Best of luck and kudos to the whole team!

Great tasting food and friendly service

Really enjoyed the food. Ordering was a bit tricky as we wanted a non-GF kids starter and a GF kids pizza which the computer didn't allow so we had to change to the GF starter (which had traces of cross contamination and would have been a no-go anyways).

I came here last night with my partner and we had an amazing experience. We were both very impressed with the food and service. Even though it was busy, the food and drinks came out quickly. The employees are doing a great job to make their customers satisfied. We will definitely be returning!

I ordered two items to collect from Zizzis; the Garlic Bread with Mozzarella and caramelised balsamic onions and the Chicken & Prosciutto Salad. I usually love Zizzis but this time around I was very disappointed with what I received. The Salad was lovely and yummy, but I wish I could say the same for Garlic Bread with Mozzarella and caramelised balsamic onions. I opened up the box to find doughy bread with a slither of cheese and absolutely no onions. Called up the restaurant and a kind girl answered the phone and I was then passed onto the 'Manager'. I expressed my disappointment and asked if I could have a refund just for the garlic bread. He said he couldn't because he "doesn't know how to do a refund". What manager doesn't know how to do a refund?! Is there not anyone on shift that would know how to do this? He did offer to make another one but I would have to come and collect it, taking more time out of my day for there inconvenience. I declined and gave feedback to ensure that there products are quality checked and that there managers are properly trained! Awful customer service, will definitely think twice before ordering again...

Kalamari wasn’t nice and had what I can only describe as some sort of sinew/see through like rubber band not sure if it was part of the food or not! Told the waiter who said they would investigate but never they came back!

Very busy as it was Mothering Sunday. Staff lovely but run off their feet. Had the feeling that perhaps too many people had been allowed to book tables so there was no leeway if someone arrived late or lingered too long at the table.

We used a xmas present voucher for a family meal. Food looked lovely but was a bit disappointing. Sharer board starter was the best dish . The mushroom brusetta and pizzas were only just warm and the vegetable topping was cold . Probably should have complained . Compared to other similar local restaurants I think this is a bit pricey for the quality served

Went for dinner on a Saturday night at the beginning of March, and from the very first minute the service was brilliant. We had a reservation, and we were immediately sat at a table by the window, which was lovely, as it was "date night" ;) We were sat in George's section, and he was the perfect level of attentive, with great banter and good menu recommendations as the risotto I wanted was unavailable. I typically find service at chain restaurants very hit and (mainly) miss, so avoid chains, but as we had a gift voucher we went along, and I would now happily visit the Hitchin branch of Zizzi again. We tipped, but if management recognises anything extra for George, I'd be a happier customer ;)

The staff were so friendly, attentive and patient with our big family booking. Staff spent time to ensure we had everything we needed and even entertained the little ones! The food arrived promptly and exactly as described. My biggest thanks to George who looked after our table and found my lost ring with all the fun we were having! All the family went here for lunch (12 of us) using the set menu and have to say the food and service was exceptional, George was brilliant and couldn’t be more helpful also a big hit with our little granddaughter!! Really impressed with how the service went, considering it was such a big table, we will definitely be going back.
