Alloro in North Hertfordshire

Good menu. Nice atmosphere but quite noisy though probably because it was early Sunday evening so quite a few children eating which is nice to see. Friendly service.

I've been to this restaurant 3 times this year with friends and family. The Food and service was great each time. Happy to recommend this italian.

Booked and confirmed a table 1 month in advance, they didn't honour it because we couldn't take a call an hour before so had to find somewhere else.

I often have steaks at restaurants and this was up there.25.50 for a filet is value aswell. Top host aswell. Friendly.

One of the best pizzas in the UK. Trust me, I know what I'm saying. The crust was so good as the rest of the Pizza 😁. I will definitely come back there.

Sorry but this is no way an Italian restaurant… Italians do not put garlic everywhere … And why would you serve spaghetti with cotoletta and salads? Rmmm sorry love been to real Italian restaurants and this is not a true Italian restaurant

Nice little Italian restaurant with a nice chilled out atmosphere, food was very tasty, I had the salmon tagliatelle with a side of mozzarella and caramelised onion pizza bread, could have been a bit warmer and the pizza bread was brought to me as a starter which I didn't ask for, so was going cold whilst I was waiting for my tagliatelle, drink was unbelievably expensive tho at £5.85 for an orange and soda water, way over priced, and didn't like the automatic service charge added on

Really great little local Italian restaurant near us. Been a few times. Food is always excellent and some great specials. Always good to see specials on a menu as means fresh and thoughtful, inspirational chef. Staff are fun and kind. We like that.

The management should consider not to add service charges when a single person dines in.

Another fine evening at Alloro. We dined with our neighbours who had never been here before and once again, all of us had a great time. All our food was superbly cooked and presented with service that was attentive but not overbearing. Starters, mains and drinks for 4 @ £25 per head is, I believe, very good value for money and Letchworth is very lucky to have such a restaurant!

Went on a Wednesday night and service was awful as no check backs were done even though the restaurant was quiet. The girl who served us was rude and felt like we were being spoken down to throughout. We also had to wait quiet a while for our drinks considering it was so quiet.The food was pretty good however pretty pricey. when we asked to pay with no service due to how awful it was they still tried to put it on. wouldn’t recommend going due to poor service

Amazing Italian luch ever ! very tasty so delicious and dessert is so yummy we had a wonderful time thank you.

We were a little trepidatious as it wasn't very busy at all but we shouldn't have been. The pork belly was exquisite and the reason for the high review. The rest of the dishes were good also but not at the high bar set by the pork. Portions were generous.

Drove past lookkg for somewhere to eat on a Saturday night and thought I'd pop in and much to my delight it was an amazing experience! The team where friendly & polite with good recommendations. The food came fast (on time) and tasted fresh which is usually difficult to achieve when restaurants are busy. The manager (Raffa I think his name is) took time to say hello and have a little chat which is always a nice addition to the experience. I regularly recommend this restaurant to friends and then realised I have never given a review. I have dined there many times over the years and have never received anything less than excellent service and wonderful food.

Risotto amazing, waiters friendly, especially Raffaele! Will definitely return. Early booking advised.

Fantastic afternoon on Sunday 1st October first time there will definitely won’t be my last, now top of my eating places, such friendly guys and food spectacular all five of us loved their meals

Service was faultless and friendly as usual here. Perfectly cooked Calamari to start, indulgent Rum Baba for dessert (specials board), and the absolute best Pizza in town inbetween washed down with a bottle of Italian Rose 🍕🍷 Who cares if it's not Italian weather outside when you can transport yourself to Napoli for lunch in Alloro 🙂 ❤️

I visited the restaurant with my friends on Thursday evening. Though it was a bit busy, the service was quick and the stuff was mindful. I had swordfish as my main, which was absolutely delicious. Never tried this before and couldn't imagine it would be so good. My friends had a couple of ice-creams which were beautifully decorated and looked just excellent. I really enjoyed my meal. Would definitely come again! The restaurant atmosphere is quiet, letting you relax and enjoy your time spending. It's definitely worth visiting! 10000/100

Had an amazing experience today for my dads birthday. Very patient and friendly waiters and attentive to find out for themselves it was my dads birthday and surprised all of us bringing out a candle and birthday cheesecake and started to sing happy birthday. Brilliant food; I'd enjoyed via Deliveroo in the past but in the restaurant was even better. Nonnas tart special dessert was excellent, my husband who usually doesn't like desserts loved it, and so did all of us. Well deserved tip given!

We were a party of 7 . Basically we all ordered different meals They arrived quickly, hot and all tasty. Certainly no complaints from us

Went here just before 3pm and asked for a table. There were plenty of people eating in there, but for whatever reason he told me they are closed. I checked their opening times and it said they’re open for another 1 hour and 15 minutes. Bit disappointed as I drove here just because I’ve heard good things

Very quiet but it was a sunday evening, couldnt fault the service pleasant,helpful and polite. The lasagne was a bit dry for me but the mushroom starter was yum

Nice restaurant, we sat outside in the early evening sunshine. We were one of the first tables but was almost full when we left. Service and food good overall. Nice selection of antipasti on the Affetato Misto and lovely garlic bread with cheese and caramelised onions. Tagliatelle Gorgonzola was good but a bit light on chicken. Pollo Piccata was very nice, had with 'roast potatoes' (more like sauteed pots) rather than the fries it normally comes with. Side of green beans. Food all well cooked and lots of garlic! Service let it down a bit at the end. Mains were cleared but no offer of desserts and had to go inside to ask for the bill. Perhaps just a bit busy and forgot about us. Would return though.

Staff happy to make little adjustments so we could have what we wanted.

Update. Having previously said I wouldn't come back here (2-3 years ago), I ate here with my son last week and it was very nice. So much so, I came back last night with my family. I can't fault the food, thoroughly enjoyed mine and pretty much clean plates across all of us . They also gave me a complimentary birthday drink which was a nice touch. I've marked down a little because my bottle of wine was brought to the table but no wine glasses brought with it. I ended up taking a couple of glasses from a nearby table as there were no staff around. Desserts arrived but no spoons in sight, and again, no staff around for a good few minutes. All in all it's a nice restaurant and I enjoyed my dinner. The owner is really sweet, just a couple of nit picky issues with service which could be easily solved. Called to make a reservation for my son's birthday dinner. I know that rules around numbers are difficult due to Covid but the person I spoke with was extremely rude and literally didn't even listen to what I'd asked. "No, I won't make the booking" Well, Alloro, you just lost 3x4 tables, and best part of £350 tonight, as we had a very nice dinner just down the road from you. Will not step foot in your restaurant ever again and certainly won't recommend you. Not that you care but your arrogance, your loss and L'Artista's gain.

Visited 2023, during weekdays evenings. Excellent food, always flavoursome and well cooked. The pizzas are divine.

Came here after a recommendation from a friend and it was worth the visit. Excellent food, good value, generous portions, quick service and a nice atmosphere for a Thursday evening. They have a good selection of wine/drinks and all fairly priced. I'd definitely come back here without thinking about it. Would 100% choose this place over another well known Italian restaurant in town!

I’m a big pizza person and I can honestly say this is the best pizza I’ve had all year, great service too!

Great lunch of meatballs with a good sauce and the scallops were excellent too. Good Italian wine to accompany our food and great service from Raffell. A great venue for anyone visiting Letchworth.

Pizza was made from a pizza chef Antonio DELICIOUS the real tasty of Italy in uk. I’m Italian and Antonio make feel home. I wish I could give 10 stars. Super recommend, thank you Antonio

The food in here is very authentically Italian and really good. They honestly make the best pizza in the area. There is a child running around and screaming, generally making a lot of noise, which I have encountered on several occasions. I think the owner's child maybe, which really ruins it for me.

I was recently in the vicinity from Manhattan New York on a business trip and I came across this magnificent Italian restaurant where I ordered a pizza Margherita. The taste and the quality made me feel like I was back home in Italy because the pizza chef was Antonio from Italy. Excellent service and amicable environment. Anyone in this area must stop here and try it and also have a great conversation with Antonio.

I visited Alloro several times with my husband. Last time we were in this place on Sunday evening. The service was just amazing! Ukrainian waitress serving us was very attentive and hospitable. We were astonished she remembered us as we visited not so often, just a couple of times. I had 2 pints of Italian Peroni beer. It was prepared diligently and tasted really nicely. I bet Pizza chef is the best in whole Hertfordshire! Every time we had pizza, it was superb. This time I had pizza with egg and basil and my husband had goat's cheese pizza. We would like to eat it again and again! Fantastic! Very pleasant atmosphere. We'll definitely come back!

It's the best restaurant in Letchworth for me! All the food is delicious, each dish I tried is just splendid! The drinks are prepared with good quality and the staff is very friendly and always helpful. It's an ideal place to spend time with family, friends, loved ones or have a party, it is definitely worth coming to this place and enjoy nice music and miraculous atmosphere!

If you want a decent affordable Italian meal, Alloro is the way to go. Seafood, meats, pasta, pizza, nonnas tart, coffee.!!!

First and foremost is good customer service very nice an polite then coming to food its very delicious and yummy. Everything is made in house like dough and sauces. I like the ambience its very nice. I've had many great evenings at the alloro with my wife and friends for many years even nowadays with everything that's happened and still happening the staff are always happy to see everyone and try to make your visit as great ad they can The pizzas are the best around the other meals and desserts are always enjoyable and the wine is very good quality and a large choice here's to many mare enjoyable evenings thanks 🥂

Must admit not overally impressed. I had been previously and just wasn't the same. Menu is very limited for vegetarian food. We ordered garlic bread with the balsamic onions and mozzarella but got the plain garlic bread instead - didn't bother complaining. The food was nice and freshly cooked but some ingredients were not quite cooked and others were very scarce unfortunately. Dessert was lovely and staff were attentive.

Nice cosy & clean restaurant. Good choice of food on menu, very well presented and tastes delicious. Only downside is due to restaurant location, finding a parking space is a challenge. There is a short stay car park, a 2 min walk to restaurant but usually full during busy periods.

I would rate this zero if I could. The owner is the rudest person I have ever encountered. We queried a drink and the size and he was aggressive in nature and threw my friends pizza on the table in her takeaway box. The council need to deal with him. We will not be back and I'm reporting him to the council. Not fit for purpose in this role

I had a great meal here earlier this year, I specifically remember the staff being extremely friendly and welcoming. I went again recently and the service was somewhat disappointing, but this could just be because it was a busy evening. Empty starter plates were whisked away while one of our group was still eating, as the mains were ready too soon (and yet not delivered to the table all at once). Unfortunately I also saw the manager being aggressive towards a waiter, which was very unpleasant to see. The food was good, but I won't be coming back.

Took my sister for her birthday lunch today…it was her first time going and I’d raved about how amazing the food and service always is and yet again they didn’t let me down Spaghetti Bolognese was delicious, the mushroom risotto was delicious and the caramelised onion flatbread was delicious!! What more can I say? The servers were both friendly and approachable and the even got a takeaway pizza ready for me when I was ready to leave to take home to my husband who was very jealous he wasn’t there to enjoy lunch with us! Thank you Alloro’s - we’ll be back again soon!!

The food came out within 5 mins of ordering and tasted microwaved. Dessert came out in 2 mins. I didn't enjoy my meal at all. Waitresses were nice.

It's not much to look at from the outside, but looks can be deceiving! This is a great little Italian restaurant, lovely food, friendly and attentive staff and reasonably priced. The only reason I've docked it one star is that it was slightly on the noisy side, but that's only a minor point.

Well worth going to, have tried a variety of dishes and enjoyed them all. Staff are busy but lovely and the ambience is nice. Well priced, with good portions and quality.

Really friendly staff and beautiful delicious food cooked fresh. If there was one very minor criticism I would personally say the desserts are not as great as the rest of the food. 4 1/2 out of 5, but google doesn't do half's. Definitely eat there again.

My husband and I paid a second visit to Alloro. We were not disappointed in any way. We had a superb pasta dish with beef strips and the black garlic was amazing. If we lived in the area we certainly would frequent Alloro Restaurant but unfortunately we were visiting the area. The service, atmosphere and surroundings were just perfect. Thank you Alloro, we will be back.

I had the BEST grilled prawns, which cam eon a beutiful bed if salad and spaghetti alla marinara (seafood). Everything perfectly cooked and beautifully executed. I couldn't give the 5th star becauee my husband ordered a pizza quattro stagioni, which in Italy comes standard with artichokes, mushrooms, ham and olives but here was with pepporoni (AKA spicy salame), pancetta cubes (or something similar), mushrooms and red onion. A bit random. It was my husband's fault not checking the ingredients but definitely that wasn't a quattro stagioni ;-) otherwise the pizza base was what a call good neutral standard Italian pizza: not too thin, not too thick so would keep both schools of thought happy :-). Staff was very friendly, we will definitely go back again.

Had the tiger prawn starter was very good. Was disappointed that the veal was off the menu but the second choice of lamb shank was excellent. Meat was cooked to perfection, lovely and tender and just fell off the bone. Service was also excellent so all round a great experience. Will defo be back

I'm fully Italian and I've had my fair share of amazing Italian food in italy and my family members. Usually Italian restaurants all taste the same. I ordered the tagliatelle alla gorgonzola and it was incredible. It was so tasty!! I am so impressed! Ill be raving about this place to my parents!

Really nice starters in her. Stopped off for a bite before cinema. The staff are lovely and very friendly. Will definitely visit them again 😃
