As I local, we have had a few scrapes with this restaurant. The customer never seems to be put first, and excuses are always made. Tonight was the final straw. I had a few ingredients for dinner and thought I would purchase a few boiled potatoes to save time. After being hung up on twice. As I live 5 mins away, I thought I would go directly and correct the issue (black burnt suds). The kitchen manager pulled me to the side and started to be very accusatory and rude. He wouldn't listen to my grievance even threatening with police!!!! when I calmly stated his behaviour was not justified. As a local in this community this is not the first time an issue has occurred. We have been overcharged on multiple occasions. I would check your bill.

Was very sad to see Topogigio restaurant go we had many years of lovely times in this establishment, fantastic food and staff , especially Laura you will be very missed , all the very best for your future and thankyou for making so many great memories love steve Karen Sophie & Hannah xx

I booked this superb Italian restaurant for a family dinner of 14. It was to celebrate the life of a recently deceased and much-loved family member. The restaurant's owner could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The menu was comprensive and the dishes were both generous and delicious. The staff were helpful and efficient. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely make a return visit when next visiting Bristol.

Had the early bird menu here today at lunchtime. For £15 we were expecting a small lunch for the price and we would have been happy with that. However it was a very large lunch which was delicious I hasten to add. The potato skins were lovely as was the bruschetta. We opted for a pizza each, fungi and Hawaiian and they were huge and well topped. We could have opted for ice cream or coffee within the cost of the meal and decided on coffee which tasted like real coffee despite mine being decaf. Have had so many disappointments with decaf coffee but this was great. Atmosphere was really nice, they have a good outside space for when the weather is nice. Service was so friendly, the staff were efficient and we felt that a tip was deserved and it is not often at all I can say that. Just as well we don’t live in Hexham, we would be visiting this restaurant too much 🤣.

Solíamos frecuentar este restaurante casi semanalmente cuando vivíamos en la zona hace una década, así que durante una reciente visita nostálgica a Balham, decidimos regresar y revivir la experiencia. En cuanto a la comida, no decepcionó, el menú aún ofrece una selección diversa para satisfacer una gama de gustos, y aunque los precios son más altos, la calidad de los ingredientes lo convierte en una indulgencia justificable. Dicho esto, la experiencia general se vio empañada por dos elementos profundamente decepcionantes. Primero, el servicio era inconsistente. Mientras que el personal mayor y el propietario nos hicieron sentir bienvenidos, un camarero más joven mostró una actitud notablemente pobre, dando la impresión de que servir a los huéspedes era más una carga que un trabajo. Peor aún fue lo que pasó cuando llegó el momento de pagar la cuenta. Pedimos que se añadiera una cantidad específica como gratificación, un gesto de agradecimiento claro y sencillo. En su lugar, el propietario añadió el doble de esa cantidad sin preguntar o informarnos, y luego intentó oscurecer el total al presentar la máquina de tarjetas. Cuando notamos la discrepancia y la señalamos, no hubo disculpa, ni explicación, solo un encogimiento de hombros despreocupado. Este comportamiento no solo era poco profesional, sino que se sentía deshonesto. Nos dejó cuestionando si se trataba de un incidente aislado o si formaba parte de un patrón más amplio. Si este tipo de sobrecargo ocurre regularmente, incluso con una fracción de las tablas, representaría un problema ético grave y un abuso significativo de la confianza del cliente. Lo que debería haber sido un regreso alegre a un lugar apreciado ha dejado un regusto amargo. No regresaremos, y ciertamente advertiremos a otros. Es una verdadera lástima ver que un restaurante que alguna vez fue muy querido se quede tan lejos del estándar que alguna vez defendió.

First time here (Thurs 10/4/25), but it certainly won't be the last !! What a great little independently run italian restaurant. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel so welcome. It smells amazing just walking in. Mario looked after us mostly, with the help of a young lady later on. Food is top notch, we had steaks for main course, 1 sirloin & 1 fillet. Cooked perfectly & with a great sauce too. Starters were gorgeous & good sized portions (garlic mushrooms & paté), and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert is just amazing....the tiramisu is also very good. Just writing this review makes me want to go back again - right now !! Thanks Luigi's, we'll be back !!

Had a meal here last night with 3 friends, the food was absolutely top class. Very italian feel when you're here, It's like going back in time. A bit dated with the decor, but you can't complain about the food, I had starter main and dessert and finished with an Irish coffee ! All my guest thoroughly enjoyed their food. Definitely one to try if you're in the area. Worth booking in advance as can get busy.
